220 lbs! Squatted 222 lbs exactly (100 kg), my weight. 6 reps, just today. Finally. Thighs were not academically parallel to the floor but I made it. I'm so glad. The key is my little workout book I carry around with me. It helped me focus on my goal. I gave up wearing a belt. I figured such weights shouldn't pose a problem, not yet. I do romanian deadlifts right after followed by abs and it all seems to work putting things into place. The belt later, maybe. My benchpress didn't progress at all in comparison. I was not as much interested in increasing my benchpress as I was my squat (plus there are a lot less people squatting and working out legs in general, no waiting line for the weights). Well, that's about it. More than 6 months after my first post. Thought I should tell how I was doing. Thanks for all your advice. Yorgy |
