2.35am Monday, April 2nd: Assemble for Orders
The occupants inside one of the many vans were completely motionless, a gleam of silver that was dulled in the relative darkness whose only pale light made shadows visible in the gloom was that of a small security screen. Though those that resided inside that van had no need for light to see, no sounds came from within the van save for the noise that invaded from the outside. For one of the occupants this trip was a complete mystery, and while it was clear this was a mission of sorts, the fact mere hours ago he’d been sent to be destroyed it was rather evident that he was accidentally mixed up in all of this. Now, the one known as Sonny, could either play along with whatever was going on and thus perhaps find enough time to figure out how to proceed, doing all that was possible to remain unnoticed and undiscovered. Or he could make his presence known and suddenly risk getting shipped back to the dismantling room, which self preservation said was definitely a negative choice.
Perfect clear blue eyes were open, studying the other occupants he had been grouped with, and to the naked eye it would be very difficult to tell each individual of the group apart. In fact there was only one thing that identified Sonny on a physical level that could be seen effortlessly, and that was the colour of his eyes. However if those eyes were not to be taken into account and he looked exactly in all respects like all his other companions, try to talk to each and every one and it would become suddenly very clear that one of them stood out as completely different. Amber eyes across from him were open, staring dead ahead, motionless and still.
It had been clear since they disembarked onto this journey that the others were powered down, Sonny could tell this in more then one way, but especially for the fact that they had the occasional beep of a red light in the centre of their chest that signalled a low power standby. Something was happening, that much was very obvious, but without connecting to the mainframe then Sonny was left pretty blind as to what exactly all this was about. If they hadn’t scheduled Sonny’s termination as a failed project and waste of further company resources, then the droid would have been more willing to connect to the hive and allow himself access to the information, however doing so now would alert them to his continued presence and with that, put him at risk. All that kept him functioning now was the simple fact people were too busy and too rushed to stop and notice one of their droids was not where he belonged, something very easy to over look if Sonny continued to play along.
The van stopped, almost simultaneously the droids inside all lit up more brightly, the eerie red light in their chest signalling they were connected to the mainframe… though nothing Sonny couldn’t mimic, turning on the same light without the connectivity. Problem being they were receiving orders and Sonny was still flying solo in this whole thing, the best he could do was try and mimic the group as fluidly as possible. The back door opened, simultaneously the droids inside rose silently, disembarking just as quietly and efficiently as the many other groups that had pulled up with them.
The object of their mission seemed to involve a large estate, a security booth empty, the gates it guarded stood wide open, a team already positioned and alert, cautious of whoever entered or left the grounds. So they weren’t the first to arrive, Sonny wasn’t sure if that was good or not, he really didn’t think about it, all he could do was stand there, trying not to look curious, no one was speaking to the droids and yet everyone seemed to know what to do… which would of course be the case for him too if he could log into the mainframe. All Sonny could do was follow his team and try to assume things to the best of his ability.
Infantry seemed to be coming from everywhere, they were on the building, moving into it, spread across the grounds, not all droids, humanoids were there as well and a few groups were suffering from a multitude of the estates defences. Some of the soldiers were climbing the walls of the school, some windows getting smashed to allow them to enter and a few screams would quickly be muffled in a swift struggle. Though that’s not to say all the students were subdued in the struggles, and the various department heads of that operation would soon discover just that. The group which the blue eyed droid was with moved swiftly towards the entrance, which was already secured and under guard by their own, it seemed even to Sonny that this was somehow overkill. After all, they were supposed to help reduce casualties, with so many armed people running around wild, it left greater risk for the targets or innocents caught in the middle of it all, to be killed or injured.
Inside the front hall the group came to a stop, before them what appeared to be officials calling out orders and the team seemed to be waiting for theirs. Sonny took the change to scan around the area, yelling was still coming from various directions and it seemed that there were devices set up around the front hall, perhaps spread through the school since Sonny could pick up similar energy sources as these ones radiated. They were small, easily overlooked in the rush and panic, though Sonny had no knowledge of them they were designed as a dampener for the mutant gene. With enough of these through the school, and with the chemical darts that suppressed the gene, it meant that there was far lesser risk of the mutants overpowering the soldiers.
The power to the school was out now, everything so dark that it was unusually for all the soldiers to move about so easily despite only the smallest handful actually wearing night vision gear. Perhaps a peculiarity that wouldn’t be so surprising if the nature of the soldiers was known by all, though given time it’d have been easy for certain students to realize there was definitely something strange about these invading soldiers.
TBC: Maggie Walsh, Cole Turner and others from Agamemnon who wish to take part.
So the time was here, months of planning within A corp had led to this, the takeover would go to plan tonight there was no other option and no backup plan. Karl carried something which could be approximated as a smug smile on his face as he stood looking out of the window of his office in A Corp, tonight he would bask in the glow of misery once more, he would suck in all that despair and torment and it would make him stronger. Tonight he would be a step closer to breaking free of the spell which bound his demonic form to this human disguise, the pain, the misery would fuel him and give the demonic entity the strength to fianlly break free his bonds and unleash Hell on earth.
Or so that was the plan, well for him anyway, the rest of the worms and weasels in A corp had their own little plans and schemes that they deemed of utmost importance, And he would play his part certainly, though Cole would surely kow that the intentions of Bolvaark were not the same as those of the company. Still, th result would be the same either way, he would get what he wanted ad they would be able to do whatever they wanted with the pathetic humans and abominations that he had no use for in that school.
Looking at his watch quickly he turned from the window, It was time... the smile on his face dissapearing back into his usual glare Karl reached out a hand, Black shadowy smoke billowed around it as the air began to tear open into a dark rift. certainly phasing to the school would be much simpler but once the Rift was open it could be used to transport others to the school, though why he chose to open it in his office was unknown, probably just to save him moving to another location.
pasing through the riff he ntered into the hallway of the school, it was pitch dark apart from the light from the assembled troops, not that Karl needed light to see, he was born of darkness and despair, light was not an issue. Silently he observed the troops movements as they panned out through the school... an air of uneasiness was creeping around those who lived here, he could feel it
Re: 2.35am Monday, April 2nd: Assemble for Orders
Cole had grown so much since the pair had met all those years ago, the strength in his voice was enough to make lesser men cower, but then Karl was by no means a lesser man in fact he as not a man at all. "Karl I wish to meet the faculty, and discuss with them my terms," Karl knew what that meant instantly, he had taught Cole most of what he knew, the potted plant exploding served to impress his power upon those lesser beings around them, most notably the professor ‘Walsh’ that had come along, though why they needed her sort was beyond the demon. "Whoever you find, bring them to my office," silence was his response, though there was no doubt that Cole expected nothing more from him, they had a much better understanding of each other than most and Karl rarely spoke unless really needed.
He lingered for a moment, this Raid was going so well for all parties involved, except perhaps the humans they had brought along with them under the command of Walsh, though what did it matter If Karl’s presence effected them too, they were after all merely useless pawns in this game of chess they were playing… he would enjoy their misery and fear too. And fear was what he could feel from Walsh, fear and uncertainty, those were things he could play upon and feed from “out of my way pathetic human” the demons menacing echo of a voice directed at one of the guards hanging round the halls “I you think that I would not kill you this night you are VERY wrong” glaring at the soldier Karl’s energy concentrated slowly upon him, reducing the guard to a simpering wreck in but a few seconds “I do not know why Cole deemed fit to bring you along Walsh”
He snapped in the direction of the woman with a tone of disgust “you wreak of humanity and your soldiers would not stand a chance alone” he slowly walked past her “I shall go and find their leaders, if I see your men along the way you will be seeing more of them like him” he motioned towards the guard that had been in his way, kneeling on the floor and shaking like a leaf in a strong breeze “…Pathetic humans” he growled.
Pathetic though they were most people could not fault the swiftness that they had managed to secure most of the school, the misery was slowly increasing throughout the building and slowly but surely Karl was seeping it up, feeding the demonic power within so he could finally break out of this shell of humanity he had been trapped in for too long. Swiftly and silently he stormed through the hallways, throwing the occasional energy ball at anything that dared to oppose the attacking forces. He felt completely safe, but then again he always did, confidence was within him always for he could never be completely destroyed, he was misery and despair itself, he was negative emotion given form and would always be there no matter what happened.
Re: 2.35am Monday, April 2nd: Assemble for Orders"out of my way pathetic human," The demand drew Walsh’s attention, and her mood soured all the more as one of her soldiers had been targeted by the insidious creature that had come with Cole. They were both insidious in their own ways, but Cole had a charm about him, a businessman at heart and Walsh could work with him more easily then with the other clueless brutes that flocked the half demon. "If you think that I would not kill you this night you are VERY wrong" Other soldiers looked to Walsh for guidance, some beside her had raised their weapons to defend the targeted soldier though their weapons would do little against Karl and cause only greater harm upon them, so Walsh motioned for them to stand down. Though her anger flared in her eyes, if she had more of their higher grade arsenal then he’d not be so cocky, but Cole didn’t let them bring a lot of their advanced gizmos, he didn’t see the point considering the school homed Mutants… Walsh knew it was so her soldiers wouldn’t have an advantage over Cole’s men, but there was little more she could do other then point out at least one demon had been known to reside within the school walls.
"I do not know why Cole deemed fit to bring you along Walsh"Because unlike you and your useless lot, I make use of my brain, with irritated thought flickered indignantly as she eyed her fallen soldier, then let her gaze remain level with Karl, she didn’t fear him, she made things scarier then this hellish abomination. It’s no wonder you’re the dog fetching things and I’m the one doing actual work, pathetic hound. The disgust in his tone was slight amusement to Walsh as she thought, he was really useless save for his ability to fetch. "you wreak of humanity and your soldiers would not stand a chance alone" He sounded like a spoiled brat having a tantrum, it annoyed her more, at least her men could follow orders and respect her enough to obey her words, they all despised the thought of working alongside demons, and yet they worked without a fuss now, if only Cole’s men were half of diligent instead of wasting her time with threats.
"I shall go and find their leaders, if I see your men along the way you will be seeing more of them like him"Do so, and my men will gladly give their lives to destroy you, you were locked away once, we could make it done again, you foolish creature."…Pathetic humans"Pathetic demon. She snapped back, using her eyes to signal another of her soldiers to help their comrade before she glared up at departing demon. He’s even greater a fool to think he’ll find the leader of the X-men up there in the halls, She glared at his back, so eager he seemed just to shove by her that Walsh wondered if he even knew a thing about the enemy they faced.
"While the new Headmistress stands a chance indoors, her husband most certainly can’t, which also increases her chance of being with him outdoors where they’re recorded abilities can do the most damage. I want up to date reports on all their locations, and I want them sent also to Mr Turner," They managed to get a portal in here, it was all easy and simple to stand ground here, but they would soon have the more trained students rushing to leave the school, teachers themselves may come this way, and foolish were the arrogant and ill-prepared. "You, with me," her eyes focused on one of the droid who seemed to be hovering at the top of stairs, she didn’t need any more of her soldiers since Joan’s team would join up with her once the halls were secured and Agent Daniel’s group would already be awaiting in the medical bay. It annoyed her really, all this, these arrogant and stupid demons who thought themselves so good, when in truth they were nothing but viruses in need of eradication. The blue eyed droid obeyed soundlessly and joined her ranks, and with that, she hurried towards the medbay, only hoping all would be settled by her arrival, Marc Daniels was a good boy, surely he’d not let her down.
