360RKTS/360RKTS-5
Cocamom, I see you have ordered the 360RKTS-5, the same plan that Larryone has, the same plan that we are considering. When yours arrives, make sure you find some way to anchor the kitchen drawers in place since traveling can cause them to bounce up and out - and then when you open the kitchen slide, the drawers are caught by the slide and damaged. I understand this has been a problem with a cabinet door in the Cedar Creek 36RLTS as well. I'm sure any model with drawers or cabinets that open toward the slide could do this. As you can see from reading the other postings, Larryone has had numerous problems with his 360RKTS including the frame flexing. Hopefully these problems were only in his alone, not in all of that plan. He said he would keep us updated as to how well Pilgrim resolved these problems and I hope he will.
I especially liked the extra kitchen cabinet and counter space in this plan, although you do have the disadvantage of having to open the slides no matter how short your stay if you want to be able to get to anything. Cedar Creek discontinued a similar plan 3 months ago - they said because it "wasn't popular and didn't sell". Surprised me.
I have seen several plans for the 360RKTS and I have no idea which plan you'd get if you ordered now. See my posting about conflicting plans. Were you offered a choice as to shower or tub/shower? Does yours have the closet at the steps behind the chair as shown on Open Road's webpage or the larger cabinet but no closet as shown on the pamphlet that the dealers have? Maybe it depends on whether or not you have it plumbed for a washer/dryer. Without that closet, you wouldn't have a place for the washer/dryer unless they used the closet between the toilet and bed instead. The dealer we spoke with hadn't even noticed there was a difference in plans and couldn't answer my questions.
Please let us know how well satisfied you are with your 360RKTS-5, whether or not you have similar problems, and how well your dealer and/or Pilgrim resolved them. Hopefully you will be as happy with yours as Merry has been with hers!
Cullom I think they are still trying to work out the 'bugs'! If your dealer can't answer your questions, and no one here can answer them, just e-mail Pilgrim directly or call them. I know in the beginning they had plans for a smaller TT and a smaller 5'er (they are in the brochure that I have) and they have already decided not to put them into production.
Personally, I would like to see more of a selection in the fabrics etc. To me they are just not as appealing as other models. I have already replaced the border, but am not really crazy about the sofa fabric! Just a woman thing I guess!
We have used it alot, and while I am still adjusting to the length, I am still extremely happy and NO problems to date!
emailed questions to Pilgrim
I did email my questions to Pilgrim last week. Received a reply that they'd try to find the answers to my questions, but so far haven't heard further from them.
I noticed after I sent the earlier post that it's 360RKDS rather than RKTS. Why DS instead of TS? It doesn't have double slides - it has triple slides.
We drove through a campground today and lo and behold! There was an Open Road 5er in one of the campsites. I wouldn't have hesitated to introduce myself and ask the folks some questions, but no one was home. We even hung around for a while hoping they'd come back, but they didn't.
Re: emailed questions to Pilgrim
I've noticed that all the 5'ers have the bedroom slide, and after that it's just 'S' or 'DS'. So maybe they don't count the bedroom slide as each one has that. Only thing I can think of.
I always look for other Open Roads, but haven't seen one yet!
Re: 360RKTS/360RKTS-5
Our new Rv came in 2 weeks ago and we had to reject it.did not have the dual windows we ordered, so they are building another and we should see it soon. I did remember the door being glazed and it did have the shower only. We requested that it be a tub/shower. We went to Topeka to see the reject and it was beautiful!!!!!. When we decided to order an Open Road I requested a blue, and they didn't have blue interior, so I said we would wait to order or find a nother. Now they have the blue and I really like it. The other colors were kind of dull for my taste. We will be fulltimers and spending 5-6- months in Yuma Az beginning in Oct 2003. We have a house and all our "stuff" to sell, and it's a slow process. I am on oxygen 24/7 and that gets in the way at times. But I will be better once we get moved there. Will let you know when the new one comes in.

What a disappointment! I sure hope your dealer can find some way to check on things to make sure that doesn't happen again. Maybe they'll put a rush on it to make up for their error. Let us know how you like it when you do finally receive it.
