A Man Apart
In the new Vin Diesel flick A Man Apart, Vin Diesel portrays a grief strickened Undercover detective (Sean Vetter) from the mean streets of Los Angeles seeking revenge for the murder of his wife (Stacey Vetter).

Vetter vowes to get even and starts by making contact with the druglord he busts at the beginning of the movie. Thus the macho head games and ego mud slinging begans as the story unfolds, hence Diablo marking his territory all over the west coast as Vetter tries to track down the new mysterious mastermind behind a hostile cartel take over.

The movie started out exceptionally well considering his last endeavor (xXx) but as the storyline unravels, the tightly knit script started to fall apart. You start to notice the unbalanced chemistry between the characters and just how unrealistic it is to take Vin seriously as an ex-gangbanger turned cop.

Not only was the storyline a little iffy but the thinning plot of getting the culprit falls short...I knew what the outcome was before the movie was over, which means if a average joe can write the script before it's been written then the screen writers aren't doing their jobs.

To sum things up, it was better than xXx but not worth waiting nearly two years to finally see on the big screen. What are some of your reviews on the movie.

Re: A Man Apart
I still like the movie but I was a bit disappointed that it didn't seem to flow as well as the copy I have *cough*

I was taken aback by the new ending...I knew it was a possibility but wasn't sure what to expect. Wasn't sure which ending I preferred but now am actually swaying towards the new ending.

They took away a lot of the chemistry between Sean and Stacey by over-editing but that's just my opinion.

Still I loved it and it's definitely up there with Riddick.

Re: A Man Apart
I liked this movie and think it is comparable to PB. It does seem to me to have a different point of view from other movies of this genre. Which others would have the lead so completely used and abused, about as abused as he abuses others LOL.

I think it is to this genre and PB is to sci-fi. I look forward to getting this on DVD and seeing what goodies come with it.

And, yes, Jodie, there were some things they could have left in from the other cut, but some stuff that didn't need to be in, wasn't.
