A Night in the Cells
It had been over an hour before Riley managed to wake up, but he was suffering from a delayed reaction as he lunged forward suddenly towards the entrance of his holding cell.
Riley:"Lisa!"
He called out wanting her to stop and turn about, but his hand pressed against the invisible barrier, the electric shock that zapped him causing the agent to yank his hand back quickly and grasp it in pain.
Then Riley's hand covered his mouth, she kissed him! In front of Lisa, Joan actually, dared to kis him! How could she do that to him...?
Everything inside felt like it was burning, he had stomach cramps and it was hard to breath without the air feeling like it was on fire in his lungs.
Riley:"You kissed me....a-and drugged?"
He spoke as if the kiss hurt him more then the drugging, he knelled on the floor, not even aware who was in the room with him, the lights where too bright for him, they hurt his eyes..
Riley:"What are you doing with me? Where's Commander Halliwell? I demand to know....why am I here?"
His hand pressed firmly against his stomach as he sat painfully on the floor.
Riley:"Why aren't you giving me my meds?"
He asked with a hint of depseration in his weak and shaky voice, Joan simply watched with a flicker of a smile across her face. He wasn't getting his meds because he was getting punished...he was a very naughty boy..
Riley:"...Why aren't you talking..?"
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
The doors slid open and Jon swung into the holding area, a gleeful expression on his face, like a small boy in a sweets shop. His eyes darting from cell to cell, studying every one of the beasts in turn, as if he were in a pet shop choosing a hamster or gerbil. His feet pausing before the holding cell of an extremely beautiful, extremely tall, extremely blonde vampire. Her eyes had been following him since he'd entered the room and she stepped up to the glass as he walked past.
'Hiya honey.' She said with a thick American accent, pushing her thick mane of hair over her shoulder, her fingers painted a blood red, she smiled at him and stepped a little closer to him.
'Your a vampire.' He said dumbly, she had that effect on men, to make them forget what they were doing or saying. He had a sudden urge to open the door .
'Yes I am aren't I .' She watched as he seemed to recover himself. '... but I only bite in play ...' She said suggestively.
He gave a sound like cough, feeling a hot flush run though him, he turned and hurried away, trying not to glance back, a few more steps took him to the side of Joan, peering into the cell at Riley, watching him with amusement.
'Finn, awake at last I see.' His eyes moved over the man's frame, he didn't look as if he was enjoying being cramped up like this. He glanced over at Joan as if ascertaining her permission to go on. He was dying to ask Riley about Catherine, what she was doing there.
'So ... Finn' He rubbed knuckles with one hand and couched down next to the cell. 'Why was Cat at Xavier's.' He tried to keep his tone nice and friendly, giving the man a broad smile.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
He blurted out, obviously still suffering the effects of what was still swirling around in his system.
Riley:"D-Don't die...I gave up everything....come back, don't leave me..."
He held his head with the palms of his hands as he tried to make sense of what was happening, Catherine wasn't here....he was back in the initiative...he wasn't with her any more.
Riley:"I-I have to go back, please Joan, let me go back.."
Joan simply folded her arms and allowed Jon to ask whatever he wished of Riley, more curious to find out about Catherine then any other reason.
Riley:"I have to go home, let me go home, they think I'm dead.."
Removing his hands from his head he placed one around his stomach and one palm down on the floor, his eyes glaring at Jon who crouched before him.
Riley:"A-Are we the bad guys? Are we the bad guys now? Let me go!"
He stared down at the floor, images of Catherine, Dawn, Lisa, even Spike all flowing threw his mind, all blurred and hard to see.
Riley:"...My meds.."
He blinked, trying to forget the pain, once again glaring up at Jon before him.
Riley:"I out rank you.."
He threatened rather weakly to the other boy, as if demanding them to release him from this prison.
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: A Night in the Cells
He ran a hand through his hair, the guy hadn't even attempted to answer his question, was he wrong in the head, or was it the lack of meds that was talking, he seemed really confused.
'You are home Riley ... you have no other family ... remember.' He said with a slightly cruel note to his voice, watching as the man laid a hand upon his stomach.
'Your dead to them and the dead do not go home for vacations.' His expression darkened. 'You think your the only one who's had to loose their family ... pull yourself together.' From what he was gathering he would be asked the same ultimatum and the thought wasn't exactly pleasing him.
'Of course were not the bad guys, they're the vampires, demons and mutants ... you think they're your friends ... but what would they do to you if you went back now? if they knew what you are.' He smiled brightly at the young agent.
He ignored Riley's request for his meds, they would be given to him, if and when the commander thought he had been punished enough for what he had done ... it would probably be some time.
'Now Riley. don't avoid the question, why was Catherine Hall at Xavier's.' He fixed the guy with a stare from his blue eyes which plainly said he was going nowhere until he had all the information he needed from his guy.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: A Night in the Cells'You are home Riley ... you have no other family ... remember.' No, that wasn't true, that was a lie...he did, he did have family...didn't he? No, he did...a mother, a father, a dog, a...no Lisa and Dawn, they where friends...not family...but they where like his family...
'Your dead to them and the dead do not go home for vacations.' Riley's hand was like a that of a striking cobra, snapping out towards the other agent without warning, but striking against the barrier with another zap of a faint blue feild momentarily appearing. But he quickly withdrew his hand to his stomach as Jon continued with his taunting.
'Of course were not the bad guys, they're the vampires, demons and mutants ... you think they're your friends ... but what would they do to you if you went back now? If they knew what you are.' The agent leaned even further forward, his forehead resting on the cold white ground as Jon continued, desperatly trying to ignore what he was saying.
'Now Riley. don't avoid the question, why was Catherine Hall at Xavier's.' Slowly Riley sat himself up on his knees, his hands firmly folded across his chest as it appeared her was shivering from being cold.
Riley:"They won't care....will they? They won't....they're not like us, they don't judge things on what they are, just who they are, how they act.."
He paused, the lowered his head in shame..
Riley:"They don't know who I am though...and I only acted like the lie I was told to be.."
He blinked sleepily for a moment, then stared at Jon with a rather blank gaze.
Riley:"Catherine Hall, mutant, abilities; Extreme Flexibility, speed, touch her, I'll rip your head off, if you have a head after she's done with you. You don't have to stay, just try us for three days, three day's Catherine, then I'll...I got you a ticket...you're not leaving? Why is Catherine Hall there? She's alone...she's not alone any more..."
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: A Night in the Cells
For some reason, probably the ironic fact that Cat hated mutants Jon laughed, throwing his head backwards.
'My Cat ... a mutant, poor her, she hates mutants, I bet she didn't think much of you.' He was still laughing as he spoke.
'Of course they'll care, I'm sure my little Cat cares, I'm sure she wont be too impressed, she always does what I tell her to. She is alone Riley, her friends want nothing more to do with her ... you think she's gonna stay at your stupid school I think not.' He was being very possessive for some reason, calling her his, as if warning Riley that she already belonged to him, that Cat was a no go zone.
He narrowed his eyes and glared through the plain glass at the man inside, the man who had tried to punch him, watching as the boy showed outwards signs of pain.
'And I don't really think your in any position to be issuing threats at me ... or in any state to.' He leaned one fist against the glass, watching the man in the fishbowl of a cell, offering him no comforting words ... he'd kissed Joan he deserved none.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: A Night in the CellsRiley:"She isn't alone! She'll never be alone, I won't let her be alone!"
Picking himself up to his feet, his body screaming in protest as he did so, Riley turned his back to them, walking to the back of the cell. Standing by the back of the cell, he leaned forward and rested his head against the smooth white wall.
Riley:"She's safe, and she's....got friends....and she wants to help the Slayer, and they want to help her...and I left everything behind...she has my family.."
He shook his head, trying to clear up the fuzzy effects of the drug.
Riley:"Reporting as ordered Commander Halliwell, all sections are under tight security restrictions and operatives have been ordered to hold radio silence..."
Re: A Night in the Cells
He threw a look up at Joan, this man was crazy, Jon had no idea what he was prattling on about, he motioned towards Riley at the back of his small cell.
'Cat doesn't know how to make friends, she only knows how to do what the four of us ask her to.' He said referring to his other friends. 'She was a terrified wreck before we met her and helped her ... rather like Frankenstines monster.' His lips tugged themselves into a smile 'We moudled her, shaped her, told her what she should do, how she should act, the clothes she should wear, who she should socialise with, were the only friends she has, she knows she doesn't need anyone else. She knows she owes us everything.' He stood up and folded his arms. 'Cat doesn't need help from the likes of you, so you just stay away from her.' There was a hint of something threatening in his words, just incase Finn decided to go gambolling back to the school at the first chance. In some ways Cat had begun like a science project to the four of them, seeing if they could get her to conform to their views, it was easier than they had imagined, but she was a friend, a good friend.
'Is he all there in the head?' He tapped the side of his head with one finger to add emphasis to his meaning, slayers, family, being dead none of it made the slightest bit of sense to him.
'The drug will clear your system by morning, we'll give you your meds then Riley' Jon gave something close to a snigger as he looked at the dejected form of Riley.
'And thats only a scant sixteen hours or so away.'

Re: A Night in the Cells
With a smile that seemed unable to fade, Joan turned her attention towards Jon, she may be fond of Riley's looks, but his wild behaviour wasn't something she liked...even more so when it involved other woman.
Joan:"It's just the drug, plays havoc on the mind for a few hours, make's them listen to what you ask them though, normally Riley wouldn't have replied to your questions. He can be a bit stubborn like that, can't you Riley?"
She asked the young man teasingly who was still trying calm himself down after having heard what Jon said, if only that boy was on THIS side of the barrier....he wouldn't be smiling then..
'Cat doesn't know how to make friends, she only knows how to do what the four of us ask her to.' His words echoed in the back of Riley's mind as the Agent tightly shut his eyes.
'He doesn't have family, he has us, and he'll do only what we say.' Commander Halliwell spoke of Riley as if the operative wasn't even standing right beside him...was he the only one that still believed he had family?
Riley:"You left her....she was all....alone!"
He pulled his knees to his chest as wrapped his arms around them, resting his forehead down upon them, it was so hard to think...all he knew for sure was....he didn't like this jerk..
Riley:"You all abandoned her....left her alone....they took her away and no one was willing to help her, all she wanted was some help, but they left her...with those monsters...and with you."
Having read up about a lot of Cat's family problems, Riley was amazed she hadn't run away from them, she didn't seem like the type that'd stay and take the abuse. But she must have really wanted a family, really wanted to be part of something...no matter what that something was like...and that old life was all she had....until now.
Riley:"But she's stronger now, they left her alone in a place that she was afraid off, something was holding her back, anger, fear, loneliness....distrust...the constant betrayal."
The agent's eyes glared towards Jon, everything that Riley felt inside, everything he had ever thought, all simply pouring out without him able to stop it.
Riley:"It's all changed now, she's changed, she's stronger, better, she's grown up and moved on...she'll stay at the school....because for once, someone there actually needs her, and they need her because they care about her...not because they think of her as a pet to play with and abuse.."
Joan gave a groan of boredom as she dropped her arms by her side and moved off towards the doorway out of the holding cells.
Joan:"Geez Riley...."
She complained not liking all this attention that silly girl was getting.
Joan:"I think we're going to have to keep him drugged, I'll find something that isn't as strong on the mind, but that was all I could grab earlier. You should stop worring about this girl being used and abused Riley...because you'll be the one in that position soon enough."
Her voice was teasing, full of enjoyment, she'd like to have him under her full control...even if it was only for one night; a wicked smile smeared her face for a moment as she thought over the possibility of sneaking him into her room. It wasn't like he'd really remember having done anything if she did, and Jon seemed rather obssessed with this Cat girl at the moment. Besides....Riley needed something to release some of this tension he seemed to have built up, Joan knew just how to release pent up stress, there was nothing a few hours of passion couldn't fix.
A spark of excitment hit her eyes as she rested on the wall beside the doorway, Riley had been one of the very few guys, and was the only single guy out of them, who had resisted her attempts of affection. The word 'Rape' didn't even come to her mind, she knew he'd enjoy it, and most likely he wouldn't even remember what had happened.
The idea flowed around in her mind as Jon talked with Riley, if she was to do such a thing, it'd have to be in a few days...possibly a week....however long it took for people to stop watching over him so carefully.
She could hardly wait..
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: A Night in the Cells'You left her....she was all....alone.' The man sounded angry, Jon looked at him his blue eyes brimming with anger.
'She can take care of herself, she's not stupid.' Jon growled at Finn through the glass.
'You all abandoned her....left her alone....they took her away and no one was willing to help her, all she wanted was some help, but they left her...with those monsters...and with you.'
'If it wasn't for us, she would have topped herself years ago, I'm all she has.' Infact since he'd told Bekki about Cat and him this was true, he was sure they'd want nothing more to do with her, but then that wasn't his problem.
'It's all changed now, she's changed, she's stronger, better, she's grown up and moved on...she'll stay at the school....because for once, someone there actually needs her, and they need her because they care about her...not because they think of her as a pet to play with and abuse..' He raised an eyebrow, looking down at Riley as he sat against the wall.
'One phone call from me and she'll drop all that in an instant.' His voice hinting that it was more than just his friendship she would leave for. He looked down at the floor then back at the top of Riley's head.
'All she knows is abuse Riley, do you think she'd be able to cope if you took that away from her, she just wouldn't understand. If you take a vicious dog and put it in a home with a caring loving family it doesn't change the temperament of the dog.'
'You should stop worrying about this girl being used and abused Riley...because you'll be the one in that position soon enough.' Luckily he didn't catch the real meaning behind Joan's words, he just assumed that she meant that Riley might expect a beating as part of his punishment, his eyes lingered on Joan's figure as she moved off. He caught sight of the blonde vampire staring at him ... she was curling a lock of her hair in the pale fingers, he coloured ever so slightly and turned away.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: A Night in the CellsRiley:"It can if you love them enough, if you put....put aside time...who cares of the hay isn't done, he's getting better with every day of training! He won't always be a hunting dog...he's my...he's going to be my pet...I won't let you kill Troy because of what that man did to him.."
It was so hard to focus, but for some reason, it was making Riley very angry hearing him talk of Cat like this, he couldn't take it.
Riley:"NO! She's all YOU have!"
The operative blurted out as he crossed his legs and painfully held his stomach, leaning forward and allowing his shoulders to slump out of their usual perfect posture.
Riley:"You have nothing here, she has everything there, you're the one who is all alone now! You're the one who is abandoned, you're the one no one cares about!"
Who was he talking about? Jon? Or himself? Why did it hurt so much to hear himself saying those words....was he really yelling at himself? He shook his head, refusing to accept that, yet deep down, under the drug induced symptoms, knowing it was true. He wanted to go back, he wanted to get away from here....why did he suddenly feel as if he didn't belong? Being locked in a cell aside...he didn't feel safe here any more...not like how he felt back at the institute...back when he had Lisa's arms wrapped around him...back when he had his arms around Catherine..
Riley:"You're all alone.."
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
'For course I have her, she's mine ... all of her.' He was smiling again, stepping close up to the glass, placing on hand upon it, he was getting the distinct idea that Riley liked Catherine ... not that he need worry, Riley wasn't really her type, or rather he wasn't the type Bekki had decided she should be dating.
'As to being alone.' He shrugged 'I've got enough friends on the outside of the initiative and Joan and James and a family. 'So I already have more than you Finn.' There was a cheerful smile upon his face as he spoke, he was enjoying taunting Riley, it was more fun than just hanging out in his room by himself.
He could almost feel the brush of Cat's skin against his, the smell of her hair invading his senses, her finger tips brushing his face as he bent in rather drunkenly to kiss her. The memory made him glance over at the dejected figure of Riley, he did kinda feel sorry for the guy.
'I carn't imagine anyone wanting to put aside the time to unravel what we've done, have you considered the fact that she might not want to become like everyone else, she might not want to change.'
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: A Night in the CellsRiley:"You don't get it...even she doesn't get it yet...the choice was hers, and she's chosen to stay, by staying....she has changed, because before she didn't care....no, she did, but she was too afraid to show it. But now...now she's not afraid as much...now she's willing to try....you already lost her...you lost her the very day she left you."
Chuckling, Riley's quivering form glared up at the boy.
Riley:"That's how it always starts, you have friends, you have family, but then...slowly...the Initiative take that all away from you."
'It's time to go Riley.' Blinking as he tried to figure out if that was a memory or if it was real, the operative glanced about.
Riley:"Can't I stay longer? Just for a few more days? I thought I'd have longer, let me spend more time with them, just a few more days? Troy made it into the 'round up' champion ships, if I can get him to win then mum and dad can keep the prize money, it'll help feed the cattle, the sheep haven't been-"
But the sentence was left unfinished as the his attention snapped over towards the door that slid open next to Joan, the familiar face of the high ranking operative known only as Trinity entered the cells.
Trinity:"Report."
Her posture remained perfect as her head turned towards where Joan stood against the wall, the hybrid quickly standing more respectfully and pushing aside her current thoughts.
Joan:"He appears to be a Rogue Agent, I suggest his area of mobility is to be restricted to on campus only and under the guard of at least one operative at all times."
The cyborgs mechanical eyes that where hidden behind her dark glasses peered towards the cell where Riley was being held.
Trinity:"How certain are you of his desire to leave the Initiative? Special Agent 75329, stand to attention."
Joan also glanced over towards Riley, a bright smile spreading across her lips as she allowed her eyes to wonder over Riley's muscular form as he stood in his cell as ordered to by Trinity. The Cyborg moved over to him, her eyes scanning his shivering form as he tried to stand as motionless as possible.
Trinity:"Due to disobeying orders for the termination of Hostile 17, Commander Halliwell has ordered you to be restricted access to your meds for 13 hours."
Her eyes turned to Jon, her voice still emotionlessly.
Trinity:"You and Agent Cortez will be in charge of his supervision, if he shows any form of resistance, you are to call Commander Halliwell, Destiny, or myself."
Turn about, she left the cells silently, not waiting for any questions.
Joan:"Goodie....we get babysitting duty."
Folding her arms again, she watched as Riley continued to stand, even though it appeared more painful to be standing in his condition, but he hadn't been given permission to sit.
Joan:"At ease Agent Finn, you can drop now."
With a wave of relief, Riley allowed his body to drop down to his knees, his right hand holding his head as the room spun about.
Riley:"12 hours 59 minutes.."
He whispered quietly to hiself.
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: A Night in the Cells'That's how it always starts, you have friends, you have family, but then...slowly...the Initiative take that all away from you.' He shrugged.
'Sometimes it's worth loosing.' He didn't put such a high value on family as Cat and Riley did, poor Cat infact seemed more than obsessed with it, she was always hanging around the other fours houses as if somehow she'd be accepted as one of the family if she hovered there. It was the nearest she could get to a real family, she didn't think Anne and Roger really qualified. He knew his own parents didn't like it, she was always there by the door looking in, she never actually seemed to step inside just incase she wasn't accepted, incase it didn't feel as good as she imagined it to. He seen the envious, jealous looks that Cat had used when she was around his house, she didn't know he'd seen, but there was something so wistful about the expression on her face
He snapped himself into attention as Trinity entered, he had no wish to end up in the same situation as Riley ... the life here suited Jon, he didn't mind the rules or the discipline, he'd been yearning it all his life, however he had ambition, he wanted to be a high flying career boy.
'12 hours 59 minutes...' He relaxed as Trinity left showing how much of a novice he was at the whole thing, a grin tugged at the corners of his mouth.
'That is if you a good boy Riley.' He said grinning at the figure slumped on his knees.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: A Night in the Cells"Riley why won't you admit it? You care about her." The Agent practically dragged himself off to the far corner, slumping his back against the wall as his eyes stared intently on the center of the floor.
Riley:"I don't know anything about her Dawn, how can you tell? I don't think...I don't think I do...do I? How do I know...shouldn't I know?"
"You care about her." Pulling his knees to his chest, Riley rested his spinning head in his hands.
Riley:"No, because Clair got hurt, so...I don't want Cat to get hurt as well because of what I am.."
"You could tell her you care about her." His body gave a slight shiver, his arms quickly wrapping around his legs as he rested his head down upon his knees.
Riley:"No...no I can't...I don't want to hurt her.."
He looked up at something only he could see, the illusion of his mind moving towards him, crouching down in front of him.
Riley:"Dawn....If we'd all just simply find that one person who could mean the world to us, then we'd never be alone, we'd never....never be without the comfort of knowing someone cares."
His head returned to resting on his knees, he let out a shaky breath as he continued mumbling to himself.
Riley:"How do you know when someone cares? How do you tell them, how do you know they...they won't just run off....leave us....leave us alone, alone in the room to be found by the enemy. She left me alone...I thought Claire...I gave up everything for her.."
He paused as he thought of Catherine, his arms wrapped around her in an effort to comfort the girl, he could almost feel her soft hand gently within his own..
Riley:"I gave up everything for her...I just don't understand why.."
"Riley why won't you admit it? You care about her." He shook his head, shutting his eyes tightly, he cared about Claire and he destroyed her life. He couldn't live knowing he cared about her....he couldn't....when he cares about someone the Initiative takes them away....they always get hurt. But Catherine didn't care about him...so...so that made everything ok...right? Then why did it hurt so much to think of that...
Riley:"Wait Lisa, don't go, please....I don't want to let go....don't walk away...please come back...don't you want me to stay any more...?"
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: A Night in the Cells'No, because Clair got hurt, so...I don't want Cat to get hurt as well because of what I am..' Jon watched as Riley backed still further away from them, as if him retreating would somehow make things better, that it would make them go away, not that Riley could retreat far.
'She won't get hurt if you stay away from her.' He said posessively, a glint in his steely blue eyes. It was strange he liked Cat ... and he liked Joan ... but in different ways
'Dawn....If we'd all just simply find that one person who could mean the world to us, then we'd never be alone, we'd never....never be without the comfort of knowing someone cares.' Jon yawned and sat down on the floor with his back to the glass Riley was imprisoned behind, not looking at the young agent.
'Haven't you ever heard the expression, you don't buy a car with out road testing several others first.' He chuckled slightly, rubbing the thumb of one hand across the back of his other hand.
'How do you know when someone cares? How do you tell them, how do you know they...they won't just run off....leave us....leave us alone, alone in the room to be found by the enemy. She left me alone...I thought Claire...I gave up everything for her...' An almost evil glint rose into his eyes at these words.
'So Finn, who's Claire, why did she leave you.' He was drugged he would have to reply, perhaps Riley wasn't as innocent as he made out to be.
'I gave up everything for her...I just don't understand why..' Jon nodded almost in agreement.
'You give her everything she wants, you are her friend, you care about her and then she throws it all back in your face, she was just after my body ... and my money and once she had them she didn't want to know.' It was only a partial lie 'Well thats just who Cat is I guess ...'

Re: A Night in the Cells
Although he shut his eyes, stubbornly thinking he'd refuse to answer such a question, he spoke almost without realizing he was speaking.
Riley:"Claire Montana, born in Florida 2003, August 3rd."
His hands moved from being wrapped around his legs to resting on the back of his head, why was he talking? Stop talking...he didn't want this person to know...he didn't want anyone to know..
Riley:"Five years ago she took up studies at Mass.Acadamy, falling behind in her studies I offered to help. Three years later we both graduated as Major's in Psychology, with permission from Commander Halliwell it was permitted that we move in together."
He looked up, his arms folding casually into his lap as he crossed his legs and stared towards the wall of his cell.
Riley:"2020, October 15, 14:46 hundred hours, Claire Montana demanded my resignation of the Initiative, 2020, October 15, 14:58 hundred hours, we left the apartment."
His head tilted slightly to the side as if he could see everything that was happening over again in his mind.
Riley:"2020, October 16, 9:00 hundred hours, a Seek and Re-capture was ordered for Rogue Agent 75329, Special Agent Riley Finn resisted capture, recovery team is ordered to deal with him."
He began speaking as if he was reading off a report, in a sense he was, he had snuck a peek at the reports from that before he left for Xavier's...their words flowing threw his mind.
Riley:"2020, December 28, 12:04 hundred hours, Co-Target Claire Montana..."
He went silent for a moment, his head lowered as he closed his eyes.
Riley:"...Demanded....she demanded...she said she didn't want to ever see me again...Rogue Agent 75329 was considered too dangerous to continue a relationship with, courtship was terminated."
His body slowly fell side ways down the wall until he was laying on his side, his tired body eager for rest, yet his mind still active with jumbled thoughts.
Riley:"Agent Finn later re-captured and re-programmed, no resistance was shown, re-programming was completed and the subject has improved in his performance greatly - Constant supervision is suggested."
As he layed upon his right hand, his left hand rested on the cold floor in front of his eyes, Jon's words about Cat echoing in his mind. He didn't like guys talking about girls that way - even if they where true, it just wasn't polite, and it mad him even more upset that it was Cat he was talking about.
Riley:"Talk about her like that again, Rogue Agent 75329 is going to be on suspended duty for assulting an Operative of the Initiative."
He closed his eyes, unable to hide the shiver that ran threw his body, it didn't help that he was laying down on a cold floor, but what kind of shiver was it exactly..one from the cold, a symptom of the drug....or from the anger that swelled inside from hearing Jon speak of Catherine like that?
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: A Night in the Cells
Jon watched with amusment as Riley nearly collapsed on the floor, this guy had no clue ... about anything, a part of him really felt sorry for the guy ... a small part.
'Courtship?' He said echoing Riley's words. 'Let me give you a hint mate, it's not been called that for two hundred years or more, it's dating or relationship.' The words brought back painful memories of the first time he took Bekki out anywhere. To the local cinema, sitting in the dark, he'd been so nervous, what if she decided she didn't like him. He hadn't even watched most of the film, but afterwards she had kissed him so passionatley that he could be in no doubt of her regard for him.
'Talk about her like that again, Rogue Agent 75329 is going to be on suspended duty for assaulting an Operative of the Initiative.' He snorted in amusement at the proposterus idea.
'What in your state Finn, I doubt it.' He arched an eyebrow at the boy and looked away. 'Anyhow I dunno how you were planning on getting out of your cell. You can hardly stand let alone hit me.'

Re: A Night in the CellsRiley:"I-I'll...I'll find a way....I won't...won't let you talk...talk about...about..."
The brightness of his cell slowly faded away as his eyes closed and a thick blanket of darkness gently swallowed his mind.
~*---*~
'Riley? Hurry down, your father wants to leave in an hour!' With a muffled groan as the weight of his black Labrador crawled across the top of his blankets, the pet determined to wake his owner up.
'I'm up...I'm up, hey!' The black muzzle of the dog was suddenly right in front of Riley's face, dangerously close to his lips as Riley struggled to keep the licking pet out of reach. Wildly wagging his tail, Troy leapt proudly from the bed and waited by the door, watching keenly as Riley threw off the covers and slowly sat up.
'Traitor..' He mumbled jokingly to his pet as his fingers ran threw his short hair in an attempt to stroke it all in the one direction. Riley's gaze drowsily turned back to Troy as the dogs dark chocolate eyes continued to stare at him...waiting for him to hurry.
'I used to be the one dragging you out of bed..' He murmured as he shivered slightly, the chilly early morning air running across his still warm yet shirtless skin. Reaching out, his hand grasped at his cover and pulled it neatly back into his tidy position as he stood. His hand stroking out the wrinkles as he then reached out for the photo of his family that rested on his side table. It was no longer a habit...it was an instinct, he'd pick up the frame and place it neatly in the center of his pillow every morning.
'Morning mum! Morning Dad!' He called out loud enough for them both to hear as he started getting dressed, his call signalling to them he was up and getting ready for the day.
'Eggs and Bacon, quickly while they're hot!' By then Riley had managed to change into his jeans, pulling on his light grey shirt as her sweet voice called out. His gaze returned momentarily towards the photo, if anything ever happened to him or his parents...that's all he had...photos.
'Riley! Come on son, we got cattle waiting to graze!' Tearing his eyes away from the smiling faces as he exited his room, Riley tried to block out the screams that suddenly echoed in the back of his mind. It'd been a year, but Riley was still spooked over what had happened to his friends family, the faces of his best friend and his sister, Ben and Susie, always seemed to be in tears when Riley thought of them.
'Sorry, I was up late studying, I'll go to bed earlier tonight.' He apologised to his parents as his feet thudded lazily down the wooden stairs.
'No need to apologise, as long as you don't let yourself get over worked.' His father took a sip of his coffee as Riley sat at the table, his mother quickly placing the freshly cooked breakfast in front of him.
'You could get yourself sick if you're not careful.' She warmed with a worried glance as she placed a glass of orange juice beside him.
'I'm find, really, this smells wonderful, thank you.' But all Riley did was reach for his glass, seeming to neglect his food as he drunk at a rather slow, hesitant pace.
'Sleep well?' Taking her usual seat at the small square table, Riley to her left and her husband to her right, Martha's eyes studied her son as she attempted to remain in a casual sounding tone.
'Uh...yeah.' Placing down the half emptied glass, he examined the food on his plate, but he was just too knotted up inside to manage the effort to eat.
'Letter arrived today...' Riley's eyes glanced up at his fathers hand as the older man held up a crisp white envelope, but quickly Riley dropped his gaze, returning it to his plate. He was so confused, he wanted to be able to get an education like what his parents said he deserved....but he didn't want to leave them either.
'You know...I could get a job, pay for a tutor...I won't have to leave then..' But Mother took the envelope from her husband’s hand, passing it across the table and gently resting it beside Riley's arm.
'See what they say, then worry over paying for tutors.' She replied softly, but that wasn't what Riley had meant, he didn't care if he was qualified to study over in New York...he wasn't sure he could be happy away from his family. Hesitantly Riley picked up the letter, taking his time in opening it, the pressure of his parents nervous gazes causing him to grow even more uncomfortable.
Pulling the letter from within the envelope, his eyes read over the words on the letter, he was even more confused, was this good news? Bad news? Did he even want this any more...he thought he did...but..
'Well?' His father's voice asked curiously, almost a demanding tone sneaking its way into his question.
'They...they said I passed with high distinction, I more then qualify for a placement in the Academy..' There was a moment of silence, then forced smiles, then slowly words of encouragement. But Riley stood, pushing his chair forward before excusing himself, retreating towards the stairs before either parents could comment on his behaviour.
'Riley, we'll be alright.' Pausing as he was halfway up the stairs, Riley glanced back, he didn't mean to say what he was about to say, and he regrated saying it even to this day.
'That's what Ben's Parents told him before they-' He managed to catch himself half way threw his reply, quickly looking away and hurrying up the stairs. A year ago one of Riley's best friends from a farm just 3 hours drive from there left for the US, not even a month later his parents killed in a logging accident...
Riley didn't know much, he didn't want to know what had happened, all he knew was that they had been crashed, that it was most likely very painful...and that Ben only found out when Riley had called him on his birthday 2 months after the accident. Would that happen with him? If his parents where hurt, would he have to wait until someone wanted to get in contact with him before he discovered they where hurt?
~*---*~
It wasn't long until his mother had entered his room, she always had a way of comforting people, she wouldn't even let Riley apologise for what he had said before. Her assuring embrace was something that always comforted Riley, its liked her arms could melt away all the worries he stressed over..
But perhaps that wasn't always a good thing, his mother insisted that he go to the school...and now look what going there has done to him..
Only minutes had passed, he could have stayed asleep for hours, had it not been for the flicker of pain that shot threw his mind as the implant started mulfantioning once again. Rolling suddenly onto his stomach, his hands grasping at his head as the agony became too much for him, with a loud cry he turned over onto his back, his eyes tightly shut from the pain.
Riley:"Turn it off! Turn it off! Why won't you just turn it off!?"
His leg kicked out against the back wall in frustration, his body weakly wiggling about in pain as he laid on the ground.
Riley:"Take the damn thing out!"
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: A Night in the Cells
He knocked several times upon the sheet glass using his knuckles, but the unconscious figure of Riley Finn didn't stir. Jon looked into the cell at him, he had hoped for better in the man but it seemed like he was going to be disappointed in him, the man seemed like a coward, he was all talk no action.
When he realised that Finn would not be coming around in the near future he got to his feet, his attention now solely upon Joan. He had some questions that he needed to answer. He got to his feet, stretching slightly, feeling the tension upon his muscles as he did so. Jon looked over at Joan then with a last glance at Riley he crossed to stand in front of her, his arms folded across his chest.
'So are you and him together?' He said with little warmth in his tone, his eyes locked onto hers, looking at her upturned face, a stand of hair falling across her lips. 'You kissed me.' It was almost a statement but there was something in it which demanded she explain herself, he wasn't used to not knowing where he stood.
He knew Bekki liked him and that he liked Bekki, he knew he liked Cat but that she didn't like him anymore ... however Joan was a mystery, was she a player, was that why she had kissed him even though she'd told that pale dark haired girl that she was engaged to Riley. He didn't understand but he knew enough to know that she was messing with him and he didn't like the idea of it ... did she do this with all new recruits.
Jon laid a hand on her arm, not tight enough to hurt her but enough to warn her that he was serious in wanting to know what was going on in her little pretty head.
He turned as Riley began to call out his voice filled with pain, Jon watching as the man writhed around the floor in what appeared to be throws of agony. Jon looked back at Joan concern on his face.
'What’s wrong with him?'

Re: A Night in the Cells
A flicker of a smile spread across her lips as Jon appeared to grow...Jealous perhaps? But definatly confused over her and Riley..
Joan:"You think we could have walked out of there carrying Riley over your shoulders?"
She asked in an amused tone.
Joan:"Besides....he's hardly worth it....did you see his kiss?"
Her words seemed teasing, but had Riley not distracted Jon, she would have assured the Agent of her desires for him with another kiss....darn that Riley...always ruining her fun. Her eyes peered over towards him as he laid trapped within his cell.
Joan:"His implant is malfunctioning....he's been complaining for a while now."
The way she spoke was as if she really didn't care if it was causing him pain or not, she really didn't like Riley, the only good thing about him was his looks. He may be a simple farm boy from a boring no where place, but Riley did have all the right muscles in all the right places...
She watched for a moment as squirmed about painfully, then tore her eyes from him with disinterest.
