A Promise is a Promise - I promise to help
As Spike made his way quickly towards the War Room, following the scent of Rogue as a way to guide him in the right direction. The center of his chest felt like it was so cramp, tight, something crushing it inwards and causing him to have a slightly hard time breathing.

He wasn't sure what it was, but he knew it had to do with the Slayer, had to do with the supernatural powers surging inside of him. Normally a vampire would use the feeling as a guide to show them where to find the dying Slayer, giving them one last chance to fight for her blood.

But Spike would use this bond as a way of finding her, finding the lost students, helping....he was going to help...because Rogue asked him for help...and he was going to help her.

Pathetic...How dare that boy call him pathetic! Spike had the strongest urge to lash out at him and...and...but Spike couldn't even think of that! He didn't want to hurt anyone...no one at all...he couldn't cope with any more deaths.

He had to try and ignore it, forget it, block it out, for the boys safety, he had to try and control the anger, force the screaming inside of him to quieten.

Closing his eyes for a bit, simply walking along the hall blindly, yet fully aware of the distance between him and the walls, Spike couldn't help but think about his offer of returning home to help them..

The room was cold, the pale light of the moon casting a silvery hue across the wooden floors, the soft light gently shimmering off the small silvery and golden shaped crosses engraved into the floorboards of his room.

Although he was too weak to open his eyes, he knew the mirrors where there, everywhere, placed across the walls so no matter where he looked he'd see one. Even the ceiling was one large mirror, so as Spike's teary eyes slowly opened, all he saw was the reflection of the empty bed.

He could hear the whispers at the door, Willow, begging for her to be allowed to enter, but as no response came, she came in uninvited.

Spike! No Spike! What did she do?...Willow's sobs barely registering as Spike's weak body simply laid motionless, her figure carefully avoiding the holy symbols on the ground as she approached his bed.

I'm sorry! Spike! I'll never let her in here again, I'm so sorry Spikey, I'll never let her in again!....her cold hands wrapping a warm blanket around him as she spoke. Her hands grabbing at the chains that restrained his hands to the bed, tenderly placing them on his bruised chest as she continued to hold him comfortingly....yet the whole time all Spike could do was stare at the empty reflection staring back at him....I'm not really here...can't you see? ..I'm not really here..

Spike stood near the War Room doors, but he didn't approach them, he couldn't, not yet, he had to think of how he was going to ask Rogue...

Spike:"Afternoon Pet, was wonderin'...um...care t'come onna trip t'hell with me luv?"

He gave a dry chuckle that seemed devoid of any humour, his hands reached out for the wall beside the door, leaning forward slightly and resting his head against the cool wall.

Come on Spike, you can't ignore the hunger, you need to eat...Angelus's words spoken without any true concern for Spike's ill condition, only the keen pleasure of watching him getting forced fed.

Got a nummy treat for you my love, she's all young and tender...It was easy to see Drusilla had control of the girls body, no human would walk so willingly and emotionlessly towards their death.

They where in a room in the dungeons, the cold dark stone walls made the screams echo so loudly, the rustling of the chains that where restraining Spike to the floor in the center of the room heard as he stepped away from them.

But the young girl, wearing simple dark blue jeans, brown boots and a basic sky blue top, continued moving towards him, her arms tenderly wrapping around his chest. Her warm embrace caused Spike's eyes to shut tightly, since he never wore shirts in the chambers, he could feel the warmth of he flesh against his cold skin.

His eyes looked up at Drusilla in fear as he could feel her mind slipping into his, the more he struggled the weaker he got. The young coppery haired girl looked up at him, yet again her greyish green eyes didn't seem to really see he was there, her soft lips tenderly kissing his cheek as he tried to look away.

But she stubbornly reached her right hand to the back of his head, lovingly guiding it down towards her shoulder, her head tilting to the side as she purposefully exposed her neck. He could smell the blood...he could hear it rushing threw her veins, Drusilla's mind forcing him down against her bare skin, the pulse beating against his cool lips.

My sweet...my handsome little sweet, doesn't she smell so nice...just a taste my love...just a taste...Spike's now golden eyes glared at Drusilla as she spoke, but she forced open his mouth, he could feel his teeth sinking into her tender skin...Drusilla stopped the chips effect, stopped it from punishing him.

Spike could almost taste the blood trickling down his throat, a twitch in his stomach causing his hand to quickly cover his mouth just incase the sickness got worse.

Pathetic Spike! That's what you are, pathetic! You can never be a human and you can't even be a vampire! What are you Spike?...There's a yell as the hissing sound of burning flesh is heard while Angelus presses a cross against Spike's back.

I asked you a question Spikey-Boy, I asked 'What are you'?...His only reply was a growl, so with a sigh, Angelus slams his fists down against the side of the blonde vampire's head.

Spike, you're not a vampire, you're not a human, what are you?...There's a soft murmur as Spike's whimpering form tried to cower away fro his tormentor, though this was one of the less painful sessions....it still hurt his pride to say this, so it was almost just as painful.

I didn't hear you, just tell me and you'll get to have some rest...Angelus would reply sweetly as the cross is yet again brought down against Spike's flesh.

...Pathetic...I'm Pathetic...But his sobs where drowned out by the laughter of his mentor as he clapped his hands together joyfully.

Wasn't so hard now was it? Oh come now Spikey, don't be all teary eyed, I'll be back when Drusilla's finished playing with you, you'll barely know I've gone.

The vampire kept his head against the wall yet placed his hands on the back of his extremely short curly tipped bleached hair. He didn't want to take Rogue to such a terrible world, he didn't want her to see his home, didn't want her to see what he helped do to the world.

But he promised he'd help her, and she wanted those kids back, and if him going back to that hell, if that helped her, then that's where he was going.

Stepping away from the wall, he looked almost fearfully towards the doors, as if he though Angelus himself stood behind them. It was a struggle, his fingers clenched the black shirt as his hands rested over his heart where the strain inside could be felt. He took a final step towards the door, causing them to slide open, yet his eyes refused to look anywhere but the opposite side of the room that Rogue was on.

The doors closed shut behind him, Spike's posture growing even more uncomfortable as he looked back at the doors, then taking a glance at his hands, he quickly released his shirt from his grip. Trying desperately to pat out the wrinkles as he thought over what to say...how to ask...how to explain..

Re: A Promise is a Promise - I promise to help
"Ah there y'are. Aurora realized her make-up was kinda.. ah forgot the word she used but it had somethin' to do with the sea air and water and such. What ah'm tryin' to say is: She's back to her room and didcha get somethin' by the way?"

Realizing she had started babbling, Rogue flashed an excusing smile at him. She had the strong feeling he wanted to say or ask her something - the way he shifted around, putting his shirt in order avoiding her eyes.

"What happened?" the southern belle asked bluntly having realized that this was the only way to get useful replies.

Re: A Promise is a Promise - I promise to help
Spike:"...Didn't get...didn't get.."

He whispered still trying to keep his eyes away from her, but he frowned, closing his eyes once again and trying to calm himself down. But there was only one was he could do in this situation...the truth...he just had to find the courage to speak..

Spike:"I...I need.."

Opening his eyes slowly as he looked over at her, not paying any attention to what she had said earlier about Aurora...simply glade she wasn't around right now.

Spike:"...I.."

He seemed to suddenly get consumed with fear as he stepped away from her, murmuring words that she couldn't make out as he covered his ears with the palms of his hands and looked down at the ground.

Spike:"Need to....need....gotta go...don't want to....gotta go.."

He looked off towards the window, simply staring at the light, watching how it harmlessly filled the room...and yet Rogue paid no attention to it..

Spike:"I need you're help.."

He finally whispered with more strength in his words, slowly folding his arms across his chest as if he was freezing cold, his eyes slowly looking over towards Rogue.

Spike:"I-I....I need.."

He moved towards her nervously so he didn't have to speak out loudly...even though no one else was around to hear him.

Spike:"Rogue...."

A slight hint of pain hit his face as he looked down at his chest, his left hand reaching up and his fingers carefully touching his chest just over his heart, but slowly and softly as if expecting pain to come from the touch.

His fingers continued to lay upon his chest as his eyes looked up towards the ceiling, it was a moment before he was able to lower his gaze back onto Rogue's green eyes. He took another slow step towards her, his face close to hers, Rogue's scent swimming in the air all around him.

It seemed whatever he had on his mind at the time was slowly slipping away from him, his mind grasping onto the only thing he could see...Rogue..

Spike:"I'll always keep a part of you in me....and everywhere I go...you'll be there...."

His head leaned forward slightly, drawing closer to her lips, and yet...hesitating, not wanting to hurt her with his memories...yet being drawn to her in a way he couldn't explain.

Spike:"..and because you're there....I'll be strong.."

His hand moved away from his chest, his fingers hovered dangerously close to her skin.

Spike:"...I can feel your pain....I can see what you want.."

The beating of her heart pounded threw his body, her warmth washed over him, her scent almost mesmerised him. He looked different up close, taller, because normally he'd keep his head lowered, or be crouching on the ground...sometimes it was hard to see just how tall he truly was.

There wasn't that much different in hight between them, he was only slightly taller then her, his lips moved towards her ear as he talked.

Spike:"You crave the touch of flesh...like I crave the touch of light....yet neither can touch without causing pain.."

He wanted to move closer, he wanted to touch her, he wanted her to touch him...he wanted her....wanted her to feel a touch..

His eyes closed, his hands slowly dropping to his side, her very presence seeming to intoxicate him in a way even he couldn't understand.

Spike:"...I told you...you gave me light.."

He whispered quietly as if in a light trance simply by being around her.

Spike:"When we came...you stopped me from leaving...they where calling...screaming inside my mind....but you stopped me...you saved me..."

He pulled himself so he was once again looking at her eyes, still close yet not too close, he didn't breath, he couldn't...it was like he was drowning, she was everywhere...inside him...around him...her heart beat, her warmth, her scent...her eyes..

Spike:"Because of you...I got to see the light...I got to touch it....I got to..."

His body seemed to sway slightly as he leaned forward, staying dangerously close to her body and her lips, he was still slightly warm from his time outside just before..

Spike:"...touch.."

The whisper was barely able to escape his lips as he gently pressed them against hers..

Cecily:"William....those poems...are they....are they about me?"

The young lady dressed in an old yet elegant white English dress, the hems covered with small red roses, in her hands that where placed on her lap, she held sheets of paper. A figure beside her nervously fiddled with the vest he wore, small golden glasses placed on his face, hiding away his handsome features. His scruffy golden brown hair curled atop his head as he watched her read his poems.

William:"...W-Well...yes....they are...please, I-I know they are not very good, but the feelings behind them Cecily..."

Cecily:"Aren't welcomed."

She said bluntly as she stood, dropping the poems on the astonished young man who took a moment before he was able to stand himself.

William:"B-But Cecily, I am-"

Cecily:"Beneath me William. You are beneath me."

Pushing her way past him, the devastated poet simply stood there, waiting...staring down at his poems...waiting for the final slam of the door that told him of her departure...and then he hide his face behind his poems as tears ran down his face.

Spike pulled away ever so slightly and only for a moment, his fingers tenderly touching her shoulders as his kiss became more passionate.

Everything was white, faint echoes of voices heard all around as the faces of doctors suddenly appeared hovering over, passing instruments to each other, sharp medical knives and small devices..

Doctor:"It should be a moment before we're ready for-"

Riley:"We won't waste Meds on an animal."

The face of Riley Finn loomed over Spike for a moment before turning and walking off, suddenly Spike begins struggling against his restraints. A sharp yell that was bordering on a scream echoed threw the room as they operated on him...everything fading off into a darkness as the pain got too much for the vampire.

---

Chained to a bathtub, appearing in a different place from lab he was in before, Spike's arms and legs chained together so he couldn't move. The ancient vampire seemed angry as he began calling out for attention, a young man and younger looking girl appearing at the doorway. The young girl, her hair dark and long, a stake held in her hand as the other man ordered Spike to quieten down.

Spike:"Look, I came here in bloody peace and friendship!"

Both seemed to give the vampire a sceptical look, and he rolled his eyes before correcting himself.

Spike:"Alright...seething with loathing desires to kill you all, but I'm not going to! I told you, I can't! Angelus got mad that I stopped killing, he started hurtin me....I don't have anywhere else to go.."

Logan:"Well as much as it breaks my heart to see you can't kill any more.."

Spike:"Hey! If you where a vampire you'd be out there killin' as well, it's not exactly a choice we have!"

Rogue:"..Everyone has choices, some people just don't try hard enough."

Spike seemed to slump as he sank down into the bathtub.

Spike:"I'm not a person...I don't have a choice.."

Rogue:"Spike, you can stay here for the night...but after that.."

Logan:"I'm not having a vampire sleeping under the same roof as my slayer!"

Spike:"...Well if it helps, Angelus says I'm not a vampire any more...I'm just a pathetic thing, so...can I stay the night?"

---

Now there was yelling all around, Spike's body crouching behind a car as gunfire begins to scream all around them, beside him the Slayer also crouched, her attention turned onto the vampire in anger.

Rogue:"You led the Initiative to us!? We let you into our home and you somehow lead them to us, I honestly thought you wanted to change Spike! Just one night, and you put my entire group at risk...how could you? I shouldn't have ever trusted you Spike, I might lose the people I care about, or is that what you wanted!?"

He listened as she run off to another hiding spot, almost as if she was too disgusted to be hiding with the vampire, but Spike was glade she left....she couldn't see the pain on his face then...though the darkness of the night helped hide it with ease.

He didn't lead the soldier-boys to her place, he was asleep in the bathtub...they must have followed him, but how? He made sure to be careful so they wouldn't know where the Slayer lived...Lifting his shirt slightly, Spike's eyes gazed down to the scare that was left across his stomach.

Spike:"Those bloody...oh god...you got to be jokin'.."

Another pained expression went across his face as he realized what he had to do, standing, his fist slammed threw the glass of the car window. Pulling one of the long shards of glass from the window and ducking back down, he quickly removed his shirt. Still franticly hoping the slayers gang kept the Initiative soldiers back as he leaned his back against the car once again, wrapping his shirt around the glass like a makeshift dagger.

Spike:"What the bleedin' christ are you doin'? They don't even...it's not like you owe them anything..."

His eyes gazed over towards the Slayer as she protectively fought off one of the soldiers that had approached Willow. We let you into our home! I honestly thought you wanted to change Spike! Just one night, and you put my entire group at risk...how could you? I shouldn't have ever trusted you Spike, I might lose the people I care about, or is that what you wanted!...Shutting his eyes tightly as the razor sharp edge of the glass cut across his skin, digging deep into where the Initiative had placed their little tracking device, it was minutes...long painful minutes before the device was in his grasp.

Mark:"Spike! What the hell are you doing?"

The young red head knelled before the whimpering vampire, pulling the glass dagger from his weak fingers as he slumped to the ground.

Mark:"It's a stake to the heart you idiot, wooden stake, stabbing yourself like this won't get any sympathy from us, go back to where belong Spike. Don't ever try this again, or I swear, next time I won't pass up a chance like this of getting rid of you, right now you just seem so pathetic though."

Once the boy had left, Spike simply tossed the tracer into the car behind him threw the broken window.

Spike:"Bein' bad is so much more simpler.."

the feeling vs knowing dilemma
(OOC: geee Angie, dangerous grounds you led us on here! this could turn out to become adult content ;P
sorry if I overdid it a little but I believe staying in character, I had to do so)

Spike:"I need you're help.."

Rogue tilted her head slightly. Finally, the vampire had managed to actually say something that made sense but as usual, he got distracted by a totally different topic which was anything but helpful at the moment.

His eyes wandered around aimlessly, his gaze seemingly happy anywhere but on her face.
As he looked at her anyway and began talking again, it was not only the words' content that confused the southern belle but rather the tone of his voice. Gently, carefully as if a single syllable would have the power to destroy everything.
What this 'everything' was she couldn't imagine before he kissed her.

*NO!* Her mental scream died away unheard before her absorption powers started to drain the vampire.

Memories, scenes from Spike's past came to Rogue's conscious.

The first one took place before he was turned, so it seemed judging from his looks and behavior.

William the bloody aweful poet

The title she had heard earlier suddenly made more sense as did Spike's fear of being worthless or beneath someone.
It ended fast and the vampire pulled his lips from hers but just as she decided to step back - getting safety space between them - he put more passion into it.

In the next one, someone she believed to know played a major rule and the mind the mutant was absorbing answered her unspoken question as his name popped up: special agent Riley Finn.
Along with it, everything else connected with him came through. A traitor? She couldn't finish the thought distracted by another memory, seeing the other Rogue, their way of working - slaying - behaving.
She was protective. With her, their students were safe. But if something happened to her, if she got hurt...
Panic and the urge to get to this stranger, protecting the girl with her life awoke in Rogue as this scene ended only leading to another.

Being as experienced as one can be with this power, the southern belle's mind wasn't swept away by the invading mind.

Rogue wanted to push him away from her to finish the contact
knowing what she was doing to him,
knowing a something with a vampire would never work,
knowing he was a merciless killer or better had been one,
knowing that it wasn't right...

...but
feeling something deep down inside of her that had been starving for so long being fed and respond to the fire,
feeling her very self open up to this demonic creature, attracted by more than his appearance,
feeling pity for what he had been going through,
feeling that it was right.

Before Spike's weak state of mind could get hold of her totally, Rogue's sensible side finally won.
A part she tried to negate being dissatisfied, she stepped back thus stopping the absorption. It had lasted not even a minute but for a normal human being it would have been enough to faint.
She could feel his strength and the insanity inhabiting herself, the last one trying to get hold of her. It would fade away soon in only a few minutes, but the part of his memories she had seen consciously would stay.

Spike:"I need you're help.."
Now she knew what he wanted. It was the chance she had been waiting for.

"The others'll surely take care o'Angelus an' Drusilla" talking about them with his British accent, a shiver of suppressed fear went down her spine
"I'll come with you to safe those kids, luv"

She turned heading to where Spike's memories led her. "C'mon... soldier boy won't be waitin', will he?"

A desire Rogue had not thought to be able to feel towards anyone - except for Gambit possibly - burned within her.
This kiss had just been the starter making her long for the 'real' things.

Those thoughts scared her as much as they confused her. This sure wasn't love... what was it?

*I really should stop thinkin' that but... is lust somethin' forbidden?* she thought trying to pretend nothing had happened.

Re: the feeling vs knowing dilemma
(ooc-*Giggles* I like that response Storm! It was a very Roguey response!
..*Narrows eyes* What kinda response did ya -think- I was lookin' for!? :p :evil )

The warm lips of the southern belle soon pulled away, the echoes of her heart growing fainter inside of him as she stepped back.

"The others'll surely take care o'Angelus an' Drusilla"

Her voice...it was British again, like last time, she was talking with his accent...it's like he forced it way inside her, he didn't want to hurt her. He could both smell as well as sense the tingle of fear that struck her only for a moment.

"I'll come with you to safe those kids, luv"

The room felt wobbly for a moment, if he tried to move he felt the ground would move and cause him to become unbalanced, his body swayed faintly as she moved towards the door.

Spike:"...Rogue."

He whispered quietly, taking a moment before he was able to turn and face her, his eyes almost glued to hers as he stood there.

Spike:"...I haven't been'ere long...but it's changed me, I...I don't know how I'll cope bein' back in the darkness. I need you....need you to watch me, if I can't fight'im...if...if I tried an' hurt anyone...."

He took a small step towards her, yet then hesitated as her scent grew stronger, he looked away and closed his eyes for a moment. He stopped breathing again, with everything breath he took her scent filled his mind and body, it helped slightly not breathing...he looked back at her more comfortably again, though the hint of fear is seen in his eyes.

Spike:"I need you to stop me, restrain me, knock me out, whatever, I don't care, please, don't let me hurt anyone. If you try and stop me...and I...I try and fight you...the chip, it'll zap me..."

Spike's tired and drained body seemed to give another weak, gentle sway, his hand reaching out and grabbing Rogue's shoulder to balance him. But as if he had touched a holy item, his hand quickly pulled back, the vampire instead reaching his hand for the wall as he moved for the door.

Spike:"I shouldn't have...I shouldn't...beneath...I know...beneath......I'm sorry..."

The doors of the War Room opened to allow them to pass, Spike hurrying into the hall and making his way towards Riley's room, his fingers dragging across the wall as he walked.

You should just have a sepearte forum passworded protected for "those scenes" and then you can give the password to people when and if it's required, thats what we did on my board :) then people carn't complain of any thing they might find offensive since they would have to have asked for the pass word and been made away of any contents :o (shuffles off looking embaressed)

Re: the feeling vs knowing dilemma
Well I don't really want those scenes at New Evolution, coz we have all ages here,
Even if we have a privet forum, it's just not something I wanted to bring to this RPG.
And besides people like Loza have fragile minds..*Pats wittle Loza*

Don't panic, Storm and I aren't plannin any naughty posts...:evil
