A Tranquil Get Together: Pleasant Moments
The empty hotel, save for the inventor busying himself away in one of the rooms provided for him, left Spike relatively on his own. Why was loneliness so complex? At times it felt like a blissful companion, while other times a spiteful curse which plagued itself upon him. Not that the vampire’s day was uneventful. Quite the contrary in fact, the cut and partially bruised cheek with minor insignificant scratches were evidence of his days labors.

Boredom had set in however, resulting in a meal being prepared for Arisa despite the fact he had little idea if she was returning soon or not. No matter, she could always reheat it… The meal was basically just thrown together from what they already had, resulting in burgers and a side dish of salads and chips. Eggs, bacon, tomato, lettuce, the burger patty, onions, anything and everything else he could find was prepared and placed separately onto center plates for Arisa to pick and choose from. Spike was still learning her likes and dislikes so at times he tended to go overboard with things on the first time.

Like when he had gotten her some new clothes… it was an entire assortment from jeans and casual tops to dresses and fancy things, black leather, more gothic styled and an assortment of accessories from ‘girly’ to ‘Goth’ and all between. Whatever she didn’t like he would send back, he could tell she wasn’t extremely comfortable with his enthusiastic offerings. But honestly the vampire couldn’t help it, he’s never really had family aside from a mother and even then he’d struggle to try and spoil her with things – the expensive silver cross with amethyst stones embedded over it as proof from his younger years. He still had that cross, embedded now in a cube of glass and stored away in his room safely on his desk where it can be forever admired.

There was something currently… peculiar… about Spike though. Something any stranger would be unable to recognize, and yet any who knew him could tell there was just something oddly … off. It wasn’t exactly his attitude that gave off any unusual signs, but actually his dress sense for the afternoon. Carrying a look all too casual for his usual style, a pair of jeans, the style made to appear worn and torn on the right thigh and smaller patches in random areas elsewhere. The white cotton jumper, with a somewhat cream taint to it, his bleach blonde hair and startling blue eyes all the more suited for the lighter colours.

Perhaps it was his way of saying he was alright, a subconscious effort of lightening himself up, giving the pretense that his mood was as bright as the appearance he gave off. Though Spike himself barely paid any notice to the fact he spent over an hour searching for items of clothing that *weren’t* black or dark of shade.

At the moment Spike just managed to sit down at the table in the large dinning hall. The small sample of blood offered to him at the school did little to subdue his hunger so the effects still lingered. Exhaustion and ache seemed to have drenched his form and yet all he could do was worry – or more accurately ‘hope’ – about Arisa’s whereabouts and the time she may return. Looking over to the large fire place, neglected now in the warmer months and lacking the roaring flames. Heavy eyes drooped slowly, the world a cover of darkness, unaware that Arisa and her companion were in fact almost at the door. Yet in that short space of time, the moments it took Arisa to make her way up the stairs and reach for the door to twist the handle, Spike’s head and lowered to rest over his folded arms. The scent of the food out before the drowsy vampire drifting further from his mind as the darkness seemed to swell and the fog of shadows that crept upon his thoughts growing thick and heavy.
