A few important links
Although we've got our banner and our forum, our rememberance of last year can only be a weak rememberance without at least addressing and remembering people who are still, today, working to heal the pains of that tragedy.
So I'm starting this thread so people can link to organizations or businesses that are doing their best to make the lives of America's soldiers and it's citizens a little safer and a little easier to swallow.
in memory of the victims
rather than take the time to copy and paste just the names of all the victims,i decided to post a link to a website where you can see the names and see more about the victims.
this may or may not be a complete list but as far as I know right now it is.
Re: in memory of the victims
I can't find the link for it, but there's also been a charity to help out the town of Gander, Newfoundland. For those of you who don't know Gander took in 38 jetliners with almost 7,000 people in them (there's only 8,000 residents in Gander) and set them up for a week after trans-antlantic air traffic was diverted from the US. The people who were taken in have felt a great debt to their hospitality and have set a fund to help the town, which is in Canada's poorest province, replace their aging emergency vehicles and emergency ward.
There is a book on this story called The Day he World Came To Town.
