A slayer...
The sun was setting over Sunnydale and 19 year old Allaire Philips stood in the park under an old Weeping Willow, the long drooping branches creating shadows on his face.
The mortal sighed, taking in a deep breath of the warm summer evening air. He hated the night time, for many reasons. These reasons caused him to take this job: the job of a vampire slayer. But among all of his reasons, one in particular haunted him for the past couple years and inspired him to pick up a wooden stake. The image of the orphanage was still implanted in his brain... The scream of his boyfriend John as he disappeared into an empty classroom during an invasion of vampires. As far as Allaire knew, or at least wanted to believe, John was dead. If only he knew the truth.
The sky finally went completely black, and the slayer pulled out his prized axe, the one that had the name 'Jonathan Elliot Love, 1988-2003' carved into the blade. Time to hunt.

Dane stood at a distance, studying the stranger. He knew when he first saw the mortal that he was a slayer, but when he looked closer at his weapon, his eyes grew wide. "John?" He whispered to himself, raising a brow. He wondered how this mortal knew John, when suddenly it hit him.
He could decide to attack this slayer, or try to convince him John wasn't dead. Dane took a few steps close behind the stranger, "John probably wouldn't be too proud if he knew you were killing his friends and family."

Allaire spun around on his heel and almost slashed Dane with the axe before he heard this. His green eyes grew a little wide. "John? You knew John?"

Dane smirked, baring a fantg, "Knew? I KNOW him." He noticed the awkard, possibly confused look in the slayer's eyes, "This information is all new to you isn't it?"

"Wait... You know him? He's alive?!" A sick feeling came to his stomach when he suddenly realized something. What if the job he had taken to avenge John... Actually made John the thing he was trying to hunt? "He's a vampire, isn't he?"
"See for yourself," John said, standing beside Dane and resting his elbow lightly on Dane's shoulder. Now he finally knew what happened to the guy he used to love. It was kind of touching and disturbing at the same time to think that Allaire had become a slayer just to keep John's memory alive.
Allaire's eyes got huge and he dropped his weapon in shock. "Wow... John, you've... grown..." he managed to say after being stunned for a moment. When he last saw John, he was a 14 year old Kurt Cobain wannabe that was going to turn 15 soon... Now John was a... taller, 17 year old Kurt Cobain wannabe? This thought amused Allaire. "What's your favorite song?" he asked randomly as if to make sure this was really the boy he once loved.
John raised a brow at the sudden question. "Um, that's a hard one... Um, 'Lithium' by Nirvana?"
"You haven't changed a bit... except for the obvious difference," Allaire replied with the smallest of smiles.

John thought for a moment. "You know, the vamps have been having problems with werewolves lately..."
Allaire laughed slightly at this. "Really? Well... You 2 better go before Buffy starts hunting. She won't let you go like I did."

Allaire shook his head. "Nope. I'm not really friends with any other slayers... I tend to keep to myself. You can't help but know the others in your profession, though..."

"Yeeeeeaaaaaah... I better be going," Allaire said. He picked up his axe and looked at it thoughtfully for a moment before he sighed and tured to leave. Before he left, he turned his head to look at John. "You should know this... I found out who your mom is... You can try to find out where she lives if you want... Her name is Viv Love."
John was speechless for a moment. He only remembered little things about his mom. "Thanks..."
Allaire nodded, then walked away.

Once they were on the mainstreet Dane seen the phonebooth, brightly lit up. "Seem like there should be some cheesy heavenly music right now." He said as he ran across the street.

John smirked a bit. "Yeah, why don't you try that while I look through this book? Don't forget to hum some dorky theme music." He then looked back down at the book. There were tons of people with the last name Love, now to find the right one...

John grinned. "Spreadin' the love, man..." A weird feeling came over John when he found the name he was looking for. "There... Do you have a pen?" he asked as he looked at the address.
