A walk by the Lake
The carefully looked after grass was almost completely recovered from the icy winter that had passed, slowly starting to take on its thicker lush green textre once again. The large lake sparkled slightly as it caught the rays of the sun and whistling birds were only interupted by the distant chatter of the kiosks that stretched right across the public area.
"Cyclops says you're on his team, mean's ya stuck wit' me for a while," Gambit liked how Scott's team had more experienced members on it, he wouldn't have coped well playing team mates with people half his age and younger. "I'm gussin' you know all 'bout Gambit's lil'tricks, an' I got a small grasp o'what ya do, but what exactly can ya do?" The bright fiery red eyes glanced over towards her and then moved off to watch the water for a moment, eventually dropping back down to focus on her as if he couldn't make up his mind on where he wanted to look.
With Remy's enhanced abilities though, which were only being subdued by the influence of both Jean's and formerly Xaiver's abilities, otherwise he'd just be raging out of control again since that's what's happened the last few times he's tried to control his full potential. With 'New Sun' having been a painful aspect of what could happen in the future with Remy's powers and by doing things he didn't understand to their full content, it had made him uncomfortable in exploring his abilities further and keen on learning everything about about anything before he goes and gets himself into trouble.
To Himself:"Thirty-three Thousand rounds and not one hit. A Cajun with the luck of the Irish."
"Cyclops says you're on his team, mean's ya stuck wit' me for a while."
At his words, Mandra gave a smile then chuckled lightly. " I don't mind that in the slightest, LeBeau, but who says I am stick with you? It may be the other way around." She stated, grinning a little. Mandi was feeling more playful now, the stress of earlier being pushed back for that time. She felt a lot better now that they've spoken... and now that she made herself stop seeing this Remy as the one from her own dimension. She tried not calling him Remy much since calling him by other names seemed to help some.
"I'm gussin' you know all 'bout Gambit's lil'tricks, an' I got a small grasp o'what ya do, but what exactly can ya do?" She blinkked as she was brought out of her thoughts from Remy speaking then looking away from where she had been staring at the lake, her eyes wandered to his own. for a second, as she looked deep into his eyes, she almost forgot he had asked her a question. She smiled and tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear.
" What do I do? Hm...." She tried to think of which term to tell him, having been labled with a few of them in her past. " Well, my codename is Dúlra , which is Irish for Elements... " She was silent for a moment as she thought of more to tell him. " Well, I'm an elemental mutant... not to be mistaken for an Elemental itself... I can control fire, wind, water, earth, electricity, ice... and other elements... But I also can create them... well, not create them exactly but... Um.... It's probably easier to just show you." She said with a slightly sheepish look.
Mandi looked around to make sure that no one was around to see them then, when she was satisfied with the result, she moved a few feet away from Remy and concentrated lightly. Extending a hand in front of her, palm up, she looked at him. A cmall current of electricity passed over her fingertips before there was a buzzing crackle then suddenlt a small orb of electricity formmed, floating a few inches above her palm. She curled her fingers around it then opened her hand again after dismissing the electricity and replacing it with water. Beads of water formmed in the palm of her hand then became a small waterspout. She dismissed that too and as the water fell from that shape, it became steam as flames shot up and became a ball of fire. Mandi looked at the sphere of flames and narrowed her eyes a bit, increasing the intensity of the flames until it became blue. The ball of fire vanished as she dismissed it and a miniture whirlwind formmed on her hand. That dissapated then frost becan formming over her fingertips and palms before she created a glove of ice. Looking to Remy she gave a slight shrug then melted the ice off before smiling again.
Walking back over to him, she took his hand lightly in her now cool hand. Mandi smiled at him again. " I haven't tried using any other elements so I don't know all of what I can do yet... What I do know is that I can only use one element at a time. There was one time I tried using more than one at a time and the next thing I knew, I was being resesitated... So I didn't try it again since, accepting that I can't do multiple elements simutaniously." She told him with a slight sigh. " I am an elemental manipulater, elemental creator, elemental devistator.. any of those three to summerize on what I do." She said with a wink. Mandi took his other hand lightly in her free one and looked at him, smiling. " Don't worry, I don't let it go to my head.. I try to ignore the titles given to me" She told him. "So is yout title the Ragin' Cajun or something different?" She asked.
Re: A walk by the Lake
The was a quiet moment where she just watched him, tucking aside some loose hair and then speaking, Remy smiled slightly, wondering how it must feel for her to be talking with someone who she knew so well and yet knew so little of herself.
" What do I do? Hm...." While she thought, Gambit let his eyes wander over her appearence a little, examining her hair, face, the way her lips moved when she talked.. " Well, my codename is Dúlra , which is Irish for Elements... " That sounded like a nice name, did that mean she was part Irish though? Well he didn't have any clue on who her mother was, she only mentioned both her adopted father and her real father. " Well, I'm an elemental mutant... not to be mistaken for an Elemental itself... I can control fire, wind, water, earth, electricity, ice... and other elements... But I also can create them... well, not create them exactly but... Um.... It's probably easier to just show you." There was a saftey check around to make sure that she wouldn't get in trouble for using her powers, Gambit was curious so he had a slightly amused look about him while he waited.
There was an impressive display of verious elements and a fairly developed skill could easily be seen as she controlled them so well. When she stepped back towards him after showing her different abilities, a very impressed Gambit stared rather intently at her fingers as she took his hand again.
" I haven't tried using any other elements so I don't know all of what I can do yet... What I do know is that I can only use one element at a time. There was one time I tried using more than one at a time and the next thing I knew, I was being resesitated... So I didn't try it again since, accepting that I can't do multiple elements simutaniously." And he destroyed earth in multiple realities.. sometimes reaching your ultimate potential isn't the greatest thing. " I am an elemental manipulater, elemental creator, elemental devistator.. any of those three to summerize on what I do." With a wink at him, Remy smiled slightly in reply, but he was paying attention to her other hand taking hold of Remy's free hand, his burning eyes remained focused on hers. " Don't worry, I don't let it go to my head.. I try to ignore the titles given to me" He smirked at the comment. "So is yout title the Ragin' Cajun or something different?" Remy thought for a moment before replying.
"Since I went back t'de past I t'ink 'Ragin' Cajun' took onna whole new meanin', but Remy still called dat, most people just call Remy plain ol'Gambit, also been called some others, but dey not 'propriate in the presence o'a Lady." He gave a teasing little smirk as he finished speaking, though his body seemed to have drifted slightly closer to hers rather discreetly. With his powers flacuating so vastly since he had Sinister put back what was taken from his brain while he was younger and losing control of his abilities it meant he din't feel overly comfortable about being near people, even if he had the help of Charles and Jean to submerge the powers. But right now he found himself feeling rather comfortable in the presence of Mandra, he wanted to ask something else but found himself enjoying a moment of silence as he smiled at her.
To Himself:"Thirty-three Thousand rounds and not one hit. A Cajun with the luck of the Irish."
Re: A walk by the Lake"Since I went back t'de past I t'ink 'Ragin' Cajun' took onna whole new meanin', but Remy still called dat, most people just call Remy plain ol'Gambit, also been called some others, but dey not 'propriate in the presence o'a Lady." At that reply, Mandra chuckled lightly then at the smirk he gave after, she found herself blushing ever so slightly. She then realized how close they were standing to eachother and the blush deepened a little at her cheeks , spreading across the bridge of her nose. As she looked into those attention grabbing eyes of his, she found that she couldn't resist looking deep into them... That it was almost as if she could not look away. At his smile, her heart quickened it's pace.
She kept telling herself that this wasn't him.. That this was not the Remy from her world... But gradually, it started not to matter as her attraction to him grew. Even though this was not the Remy from her origional dimension, her heart seemed to just be opening up to him. She as trying to keep it from happening though. But at least she knew it was not because of mistaken identity. Mandi had been staring into his eyes deeply the whole time and as she did so, she had slowly been moving closer to him. Her eyes closed as she leaned closer, her lips drawing closer to his. Her head tilted slightly to the side as she went to kiss him. Just when their lips were about a milimeter from touching, she caught herself in what she was doing and drew back quickly, blushing impressively.... of course the glowing of the different places accompanying it. She couldn't look him in the face at the moment, too shy and embaressed to. Instead, Mandi looked at the ground. Inside, she barrated herself for having gotten that close to kissing him... Although a part of her still wanted to.
" Um... sorry about that.. I don't know what came over me. I appologize for any discomfort I may have brought to you." She said quickly and softly. At the moment she didn't realize that they were still holding hands, it having been comfortable to her to where it felt natural. She decided to change her embaressment into a musement and looked up with a slightly sheepish smile. " Just to tell you, I don't go around kissing everyone I meet..." She stated. She looked back down, the blush renewing itself as she remembered someone else she had kissed in this dimension... Jarod... At the thought of him, her heart skipped a beat then seeme to feel a little heavy. Even right now, she couldn't keep from thinking about him. But she thought she had to try not to think of him right now... Since she believed at the moment he was angry at her and that he hated her. Luckily her frown was hidded from Remy due to her face being hidden behind her bangs as she looked at the grass near their feet. The blush had faded now.
Re: A walk by the Lake
With an intrigued curiosity felt faintly in the very back of his mind, Remy watched the pale violet pools that stared at him, realizing that she was inching her body even closer to him a moment later. The violet orbs vanished behind her closing eyelids as she readied herself to kiss him, the roguish X-men allowing his head to tilt forward slightly without any thought though at the same time with slight hesitation.
But it seemed so inviting, so promising, and she was beautiful, it wasn't hard to admit that he was attracted to her, but being Gambit he finds himself desiring many woman. He's never had one that knows so much about him before though, it's like for once he didn't start as a complete mystery, she wouldn't hate him for something she later discovers he has done his past, something that happened when he was so young, before he learned from the mistakes of his past.
Fiery eyes watched intently as their lips drew closer, slowly starting to relax, starting to wait, a tingling thrill running through him at the thought of what was about to happen. But there was nothing. Literally. Where once her lips were ready and waiting, now there was nothing but empty air, a slightly confused blink of as he regained his composure as best as possible. Maybe she forgot he wasn't her Remy.. of course.. no one wants a bothersome old 'has been' like him that seems to just muddle up everything and always pick the wrong side to lend his help to. He closed his burning eyes though, knowing that his self-loathing was causing him to think of that and that he was blowing things out of proportions.
" Um... sorry about that.. I don't know what came over me. I appologize for any discomfort I may have brought to you." Opening his blazing gaze, Gambit strained to smile, a soft twinge of pain coursing through the core of his mind at the thought that one of his comrades family was in trouble and here Remy was, in the middle of a park enjoying the company of a pretty lady. Though it was complicated and confusing, he still liked the prospect of getting to know Mandra.
"Just to tell you, I don't go around kissing everyone I meet..." She gave a little smile and her face was blushing, Gambit just reluctantly smiled back at her again as he distractedly watched her expression. Remy pulled her hand up gently to press his lips lightly against her knuckles, giving a charming little smile as he tried to push aside his concerns and thoughts.
"Dat's quite alright Chère," He assured her with a rather dismissive look in his body language, and though he moved to link their arms while he began to walk, his eyes seemed to hastily look off towards the road in the distance. "Wish Gambit'ere could make de same statement 'bout dat," There was a mischievous glint in his eyes as he looked at her playfully, remarking about his rather famous reputation as a 'ladies man'. "If you start t'get bored we can head back whenever." He added as they walked.
To Himself:"Thirty-three Thousand rounds and not one hit. A Cajun with the luck of the Irish."
Re: A walk by the Lake
She felt a strange shyness pass over her as he kissed her hand and the another blush arose fromt he one that had faded. Although not as intense as the last one, it was still there and visable.
"Dat's quite alright Chère... Wish Gambit'ere could make de same statement 'bout dat." She watched as the mischievious glint came to his eyes. That was a slight mistake on her part... Looking into his eyes, that is. Because once she looked at them, she couldn't tear her gaze away. She leaned against his arm lightly as she watched him, a soft smile touching her lips. She couldn't help it. Mandi wondered what would have happened if she had kissed him. What would have become of it. She was tempted to speak the question out loud but knew there was a chance that an arkwardness would come from it.
"If you start t'get bored we can head back whenever." His words helpped her to release herself from his eyes... Not that she was really trying hard to get free. Mandra could stay lost in them for hours and not mind a bit.
" Bored? Me? Oh no, I think that if that becomes the case, we could always stir up a little mischief to help with that problem." She said with a playful smirk. She was rarely ever bored. " Now if YOU get bored, Le Beau, we can head back whenever." She finished, her eyes showing that she was teasing him. She looked as if she was thinking for a moment then gave a small smirk. She guessed a little short kiss wouldn't hurt....
" Le Beau... Do you want to kiss me?" She asked, curiosity tinting her smile. She didn't want to push him to anything or make him feel obligated.
Re: A walk by the Lake" Bored? Me? Oh no, I think that if that becomes the case, we could always stir up a little mischief to help with that problem." The comment caused a more lighthearted feel to creep over Gambit as he allowed his mind to settle down once more. " Now if YOU get bored, Le Beau, we can head back whenever." He grinned at her cheeky comment, a delightful little smirk playing on his own lips as his mood drastically lightened up. He wasn't sure why, he has recently - well for the past month or three.. - been suffering from rather extreme mood swings.
" Le Beau... Do you want to kiss me?" At first he seemed a little defensive, was that a statement of her own curiosity or was that a question in the sense that she noticed his interest earlier. There was a slight smirk.. mostly one that was attempting to hide the confusion, but he spoke as casually as possible.
"Gambit never get bored wit' a pretty lady by'is side." There was a teasing look displayed within his expression, his hands seeming to have disappeared into his inner jacket pockets while he turned to face her. " 'Sides, wit' an offer like dis on de table, why would ol'Remy wonna head back now?" His body seemed to draw nearer to her while he spoke, still seeming so teasing and playful, his hands pulled from his jacket, they appeared to be holding something but Mandra wouldn't have been unable to see since he was too close and his hand rose to tilt her chin up and expose her lips slightly while he continued to smile so charmingly.
The tip of his fingers disappeared from beneath her chin a moment later, but he moved forward, his lips pressing against hers, his body remaining distant however. With his powers fluctuating so dangerously he tended to keep his distance from people. His hands slipping on his protecting black gloves, the thin smooth material soon felt against Mandra's skin as his now covered hands reached up to caress the cheeks of the attractive woman. The start of the kiss was more of a distraction for her while he fiddled with the gloves, not wanting to shock her with his energy like he's done with so many others. There was still a risk she'd get zapped from his kiss, since there was skin to skin contact, but he just prayed he was able to keep control and not let any of his energy build up.
A moment later his body stepped forward, closing the gap between them, the fiery eyes disappearing as they closed, his hands leaving her cheeks as his kiss became more intense, deeper, his arms wrapped about her waist and his hands held her against his body. As usual Gambit gave every ounce of passion one could muster in a kiss, whether it was out in the public eye or alone in a private room, the word 'subtle' seemed to be rarely used when referring to Gambit outside his thieving abilities.
To Himself:"Thirty-three Thousand rounds and not one hit. A Cajun with the luck of the Irish."
Re: A walk by the Lake
At first, she thought that he was offended or something by the way his body seemed to tense slightly and by the hint of a defensive look in his eyes but then, a slight smirk appeared on his lips and her hopes of not having offended him rose.
"Gambit never get bored wit' a pretty lady by'is side." She blushed slightly at being called pretty but continued looking at his eyes. " 'Sides, wit' an offer like dis on de table, why would ol'Remy wonna head back now?"
As he kissed her, she could feel the intense passion flowing through it. She kissed him back in the same mannor, pulling close as he did and slowly wrapping her arms around him. She may have seemed innocently shy at times earlier but there was nothing shy about how she responded to the kiss. Her eyes were closed as she slid her hands out from behind him and moved her arms to wrap around his neck lightly. A chill of excitement went through her as the kiss deepened and became more intense. Heat spread through her body and her heart began to speed up, them being so close that there was no space between them. Along with the excitement and passion, a hint of love could be felt from her. Her hands lightly brushed up against the sides of his neck as she moved them to his shoulders and as the kiss was lightly broken.
Mandra looked into his eyes for a moment, looking deep into them. Her own eyes held such raw emotion due to her not thinking of hiding them. For that moment, she seemed to be about to speak but instead, she kissed him. This time, she didn't hold back the little bti she had been before. He seemed to just bring this out in her... She usually wouldn't have been so deep into a kiss unless behind closed doors.
Re: A walk by the Lake
The affectionate response of passion in her kiss had somewhat taken the Cajun by surprise, but pleasantly surprised he was. The thrill of a woman's touch after so long, especially one who was with such a complex background as Mandra's, it was so enticing and intoxicating. Gambit wished they were back at the school, he might have easily been able to lure her back to his room, the thought sneaking longingly into the back of his mind. He couldn't help but feel like that, the way her hands so tenderly caressed him, it had been forever and a day since someone was so close to him in a way that resembled this.
When the kiss faded, their lips parting lightly, Gambit's eyes slowly opening, the overwhelming emotions that swam within Mandra's only pushed on his thoughts of wanting her alone. Even Rogue rarely allowed herself to look at him as Mandra so freely showed him now, isn't this what he had told Jean, Scott and Storm all year.. for years.. hasn't this been exactly what he's wanted from Rogue? For her to just look at him like Mandra was and not be ashamed or hesitant of being with him.
Although his eyes dropped to stare at her lips when it seemed she was about to speak, half worried he was so consumed in thoughts and desire that he might not hear the things she says, no words came from her lips.. they didn't have a chance. Once again they here pressed against his own, the taste of her in his mouth, the warmth of her body against his, he wanted to pull her even closer, something impossible to do since they were pressed firmly together as Mandra amorously poured her devotion and love into mind numbing kiss that was only increasing the lust that was starting to burn inside the X-man.
The bombardment of sensations rushing through him caused a unbalance in his stored energy, the burst of pain in his hands were so sudden and faded quickly so that the only hint was a twitch in his arms a noise in the back of his throat which he struggled to silence. Tiny burns scattered across his fingers from the kinetic energy that charged fragments of his own organic matter, he didn't care if that's what happened when he wore the gloves or his new specially designed suit, he'd prefer her gets hurt then anyone else around him. He already had healing burns riddled across his body; usually he trained in the Danger Room until he was so exhausted he had to really focus hard to summon the energy to fight.
Although his lips pulled gently from the kiss, they hovered closely to her still, daring to stroke against the warm tenderness of her lips. Again the moment was ruined by a flicker of a spark that made a crackling pop between the close proximity of their lips, more like an electric shock that caught both of them, Gambit's body jerking away quickly from her as he took an instant step backwards and raised his sore hand to rest over his lips that tingled slightly from the shock of his static. Although he was upset by the occurrence of his static charges, he was too distracted with her previous kiss to look more then a little dazed as he stared at her lips and quietly caught his breath while his heart and the rest of his body tried to calm down from the intensely powerful contact between them.
To Himself:"Thirty-three Thousand rounds and not one hit. A Cajun with the luck of the Irish."
Re: A walk by the Lake
The twitch of his arms and the small sound that came from Remy a moment before the kiss was broken. There was a brief brush of his lips upon her own but a crackling pop and a slight jolt made her jump slightly. Her fingertips rose to her lips and lightly touched them as she looked at Remy, her chest rising and falling a little fast as she panted lightly from the intensity of the kiss. Her heart thundered in her chest and her mind was spinning from the passion they had just been showing to eachother. It took Mandi a moment to get her mind clear enough to realize what had just happened and when she did, a worried expression crossed her face. Her hand reached out away from her own lips and to his, the fingertips tracing the bottom lip gently. “ Are you okay? What happened?... Was it from me?” She asked, concerned. Her fingertip frosted over as she ran it along his lips to cool them.
She hoped that it hadn’t been her that had caused that shock like feeling but at the same time was confused a little on how it may have happened. She could see that the kisses were still effecting him… she too was still feeling the spiraling heat inside of her that sent small shivers through her body. She looked at his mouth closely to make sure he wasn’t bleeding then at his eyes apologetically, thinking that a stray spark of electricity may have come from her from the rising excitement. She wanted to kiss him again and do more than that, it was evident in her eyes and her body language but concern for him was holding her back. She moved her fingertips from his lips and let go of the ice manipulation. “ You’re not hurt are you? Maybe we should go back to the mansion where I can check you over better without causing a scene… I have a first aid kit in my room if you don’t want to go to the Med lab…” She told him.
She bit her lower lip lightly as she waited for a reply, not realizing how tantalizing that it could seem to someone watching. The way she was standing could be also seen as a tempting one. She couldn’t help it, the feelings of passion and lust still lingering. A breeze cause a few strands of her hair to fall in front of her face and she brought her hand up lightly to sweep her hair back over the top of her head and to the back of her neck, her hand sliding to rest on the collarbone lightly. Her mind wandered back to the kisses and she licked her lips lightly. There was a slow blink before she looked into Remy’s eyes. A very faint blush spread across her cheeks as the thoughts about the kiss changed to other activities. As it became a little hotter, she snapped out of it.
Re: A walk by the Lake
CArefully watching as her fingers had rest against her lips, it took a moment longer for Remy's own eyes to lift and notice the concerned look in her eyes. A short pause in time later he registered her warm fingers on his heated lips, still numbed by the shock and taking a moment to faintly feel the delicate touch against them.
“ Are you okay? What happened?... Was it from me?” He was going to shake his head, say some cheeky seducing comment, but her fingers became icy cold, cooling his lips. Every part of him struggled not to just move his head slightly so that he fingers slipped into his lips where he could kiss them and let his tongue playfully touch the frosty tips that were so tenderly trying to care for him.
“ You’re not hurt are you? Maybe we should go back to the mansion where I can check you over better without causing a scene… I have a first aid kit in my room if you don’t want to go to the Med lab…” Mandra's finges left, an emptiness and loss slowly felt but a rather vague little smile crept onto his lips while he collected his thoughts and tried to handle the situation better.
It wasn't easy, the way she was standing, her eyes, he could just lean forward once again, he could act as if nothing had happened and offer her another kiss. It was silly really, he was acting like some inexperienced highschooler who just got his first kiss. But this one was different since he's not often felt the love she had offered him, usually it was lust, desire, flirtasious attitudes he's managed to so easily entice with his charming charisma. But love? Tenderness? That was so rare, even his first wife never truly adored the Cajun, they were friends, sure... but Remy's foster father had arranged their wedding, it was for the good of the guild, not because they loved each other.
They way she bit her lip, the way her hand slid over to stroke away her hair, coming to a stop still against her body, it was hard to focus on anything serious like exercising to deplete his energy reserves to keep them in check. Remy's eyes didn't seem willing or able to look away as he watched her, mostly her lips, torn between thoughts and different wants.
His newly gloved hand lifted to allow the darkly covered fingers to stroke against her cheek, caressing the warm skin on the side of her face, a slight blush only helping to entice the former theif even further.
"Stealin' Remy t'ya room chere? Dat a wise t'ing?" The teasing question was softly spoken, a hint of a seducing tone and a tenderness in his touch. Though he rather bluntly ignored the offering of help, no one knew he was still having troubles with his powers and that's the way he'd like to keep it. By now they all figured he had gotten a handle on them, though he was sure Wolverine or Scott - possibly both - might have noticed something on the last mission when some things started 'randomly' blow up when Gambit got into a fight with Wolverine, though they were attacked moments after so Gambit hoped that blind luck would have swayed their suspicions.
To Himself:"Thirty-three Thousand rounds and not one hit. A Cajun with the luck of the Irish."
Mandi' blush deepened ever so slightly upon her feeling the touch of his fingertips on her cheek. Her eyes went from his own to his lips as he began to speak. "Stealin' Remy t'ya room chere? Dat a wise t'ing?" She listened to him ask her teasingly. she felt shyness creep up in her but at the same time, interest. She tilted her head lightly to the side and towards the hand he was touching her cheek with, resting her cheek in his palm a brief moment before turning her face slightly to lightly kiss the base of his thumb.
"Well, we won't know until we find out, now will we?" She replied in a lightly joking tone. Mandi gave a little wink. The cajun was too irresistible, she couldn't fight against his charm even if she tried... Not that she really wanted to at the moment. A harmless current of electricity passed over her, one barely strong enough to even raise the hair on someone's head. The current had come from her mind wandering to different scenarios that could come about from her inviting Remy to her room. When she had first mentioned it, she had meant it in an innocent sense but the way he spoke of it brought her to think otherwise. She got a tighter hold on her abilities to keep anymore of the electricity or any other element from being tapped into accidently. The way he was looking at her right now, it was making her whole body tingle. As she watched his eyes she felt the urge to kiss him again but she managed to get a hold on herself.
Re: A walk by the Lake
With a faint smile tugging in the corner of his lips, even though it did sting when she allowed her cheek to rest fully within his palm, he felt nice when she allowed her lips to kiss his thumb, though wishing that his gloves were not needed. Was this how Rogue felt? All those times he wanted her near and she was too afraid to touch him, even with her gloves.. he never really understood, she had gloves on, he was safe, she could touch him with her gloves.. He never considered what it must have been like for her, but now he understands, he wants to have his skin brush against the one he's holding, he wants to know if he holds them that they wouldn't be harmed by his embrace. A touch, no matter how simple or passionate, felt so distant, so painful, if there was always a barrier between them.
"Well, we won't know until we find out, now will we?" Remy's burning eyes left her lips and looked up at her eyes, a dazed little smirk seeming to form since he was so distracted with thoughts of verious natures.
There was a more consiously seducing smile appearing on his lips at her earlier comment, his charms burning brightly before fading once more as he was lost in his thoughts. His palm lightly moving over her cheek, the tips of his fingers dragging softly tip only they touched her, tracing lightly over her lips for a short thoughtful moment before slipping away. He seemd to get distracted with staring at his palm as it drew closer towards him, studying the gloved hand that hovered level with his chest before dropping down to his side.
What happens if she goes to undress him and seens the suit he's wearing beneath his clothes, the black smooth material wasn't exactly a fashion statement, she'd be curious to know why he's wearing it. And even if he does manage to avoid the subject, if she does try and undress him, she'll see the burns, he was too stubborn to go and see Beast for help, Beast already helped him so much, he was tired of being the source of pity for others.
He could lie. He could just say they were from the mission he just returned from, that'd seem believable, that's what he'd do... but what if he hurt her because he didn't have his suit on and his energy flaxuated again? He could charge something, heck, he could charge her!
"Den let's get goin'." He offered with a charming little smile, though it was obvious at the same time the smile was mostly forced as he thought of other things that now plagued his mind once more. Although he became a little quiet as they walked back to the car, he seemed to remain close to her, keeping his arm linked in hers and seeming to take comfort in the contact. He'll figure out some way to getting out of it, but at the same time he wanted to stay with her, he could control his powers, if he tried really hard, he was sure of it, at least that's what he told himself, he knew full well that was a blunt lie.
"After you chere," Gambit opened the door for her and let her in, grinning charmingly before moving over to the drivers door, hiding the grim expression he usually would have given when his hands stung from the scattering of burns as not only did he touch things the fabric also irritated the sores by brushing against them.
Taking off his favourite jacket, he tossed it carefully into the back and then took a seat in the drivers seat, seeming a little impatient as he started up the car and checked about for a chance to leave, the cars on the road speeding by trapped them in the spot for a moment. With a little grumble his arm reached back as he twisted his body to help him reach his jacket's pocket, fiddling around inside for a bit before struggling to manage to steal a single cigerette from his opened packet. Placing it between his lips in the corner of his mouth, the cajun didn't light it as he returned his focus on the road.
The radio started up, but Gambit ignored the sounds as he pulled the car out, one hand pulling the cigerette from his lips while the other held the steeringwheel. Manipulating the potency of his bio-kinetic energy can cause various effects such as burning for example, so the now off hand useage of his ability was used when the tip of his cigerette lit up without really considering if Mandra minded or not.
He seemed to smoke whenever he had something on his mind, when he was thinking over things, when there was trouble of some kind, you rarely see Gambit with a cigerett and a smile. The lit cigerett was placed back between his lips, his ability of charging things without needing to touch them was something he found highly dangerous and threatening to those he cares about, he was half berrating himself for not taking better care of his energy levels. After inhaling the additive smoke into his lungs only once, an irritated look crossed over the cajun who dumped the unfinished cigerett into the car's ash-tray and let the greyish smoke blow quickly from between his lips and out the window.
He had that feeling of want, the need for something, he had half hoped it was a cigerett, but he was just kidding himself, he looked over towards Mandra as the car pulled gently to a stop at a red light. When the light turned green he looked ahead rather distractedly, images of their kisses and the sensations risen from them filled his mind.
"T'ank's fo' havin' lunch wit' me." There was something teasing about the way he said it, a slight smirk playing in the very corners of his lips even though at the same time he seemed more serious then playful.
(ooc: If you wanted to move us to her room now or after ya wanted to post and then move.. erm.. which ever! ^^".. that'd be great!)
To Himself:"Thirty-three Thousand rounds and not one hit. A Cajun with the luck of the Irish."
Re: A walk by the Lake
Mandra was silent as he drove. She had been thinking on how he seemed uneasy about something and had been observing how Remy was acting and of how he lit the cigarette. it looked like he was thinking about some serious things and for a moment she wondered what it may have been. Then, she decided that she shouldn't be nosey. But still.. she felt worried about him for some reason. mandi wondered if he was having second thoughts abour having shared the kiss. She was feeling a little confused. He seemed to want to be near her by the way he had stayed close before letting her into the passanger seat... Her eyes wandered to his lips and she noted that there was no smile as he held the cigarette between them and an expression of deep contemplation on his face.
He had only taken in one puff before with an irritated expression, he put it out in the ashtray. mandi's worry increased some but she tried to not show it. When he looke dover at her, as they stopped for a red light, she offered a light smile to him before he looked forward again. Mandi wondered what was going through his mind at that time. Her eyes went from his eyes and to his lips again as they parted for when he began to speak. "T'ank's fo' havin' lunch wit' me." He told her. The slight smirk and the teasing tone let her relax some but there was a seriouseness to his tone also, causing more curiosity to arise.
" Thank you, Le Beau... I am glad to have had it with you." She replied softly with a smile. Her mind wandered over the events of the day then seemed to get stuck at the kiss. instantly, her skin became heated and a faint blush spread across her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. She sucked on her bottom lip lightly as her mind wandered to possable later activities... she took a slow breath inward to calm herself.
