Linda in Airport:
Wow Stefan that was great: Nova in a business suit! I loved the cool way Linda wore her hair in this film. I'm not sure but I think that actress sitting next to Linda may be screen ledgend Gloria Swanson ("THE GREAT NORMA DESMOND from the classic film "Sunset blvd"). But I could be wrong.
Ofcourse I recignize George Kennedy with O'l Chuck. -cozad |

Re: Linda in Airport: Yeah cozad, that was "business Nova"! You're right, that's probably Gloria Swanson next to her - she is listed in the credits, too I read on the ImdB (as "herself"... maybe I should have paid a bit more attention... Well, regarding "Airport 1975", once again I have to say Linda is so beautiful in it, too Here are some more pictures. I think Gloria Swanson was putting some of her stuff on Linda's legs or something which led to Linda's annoyance! If there was a "Airport funkified" story, it would be something like "g0dd4mn it, what are you doing?? I don't need your useless stuff, even 'though you were once a famous movie star. LEAVE ME ALONE, for christ's sake! |

The picters are great Hi guys, Wow, Linda really looks awsome, I tried renting the mvie just the other day but the video store didn't have it (they didn't have a lot of movies with Linda in it) anyways, she's awsome. As always I find her adorable. She looks great as a busines women. Maybe they should release all kinds of Linda dolls, such as: -Savage Linda -Business Linda -Hollywood Linda (from "A guide for the married man") -Western Linda (from "Wild Bill") And last but not least: -Linda the mother (from the "Cocoon" movies) Anyways, just for the sake of knowing, are we going to stay on this thread or go back to the "Nova II" thread (as not everything we talk about will not have to do with "Aiport 1975")? Later, -Gene |

Re Hi Gene, LOL - yeah it would be great to have such Linda dolls from each movie / role... I thought I'd open a new thread for "Airport 1975" as it looks nice to have that as a separate topic on the board, you know (a thread for each role or movie). I think we should discuss things about "Airport 1975" here and for other stuff (which probably is the main topic) regarding Linda we continue in the "Nova II" thread. CYA Stefan |

Gloria Swanson Vs. Augusta Summerland Your photo montage with Swanson pileing all her belongings onto Linda was hilarious (especially when accompanied by the "Funckified" diologue you created, Stefan). I had a good laugh over that one! Look's like Linda's scene with Ms. Swanson provided some much needed commic relief in the film. Look's like Swanson got to play the comedic part while poor Linda had to play her straight-man-ehr-a-straight person. Swanson had a very interesting life. She was particularly good friends with Joe Kennedy (the father of President Kennedy) and has the singular distinction of being the first "Jane" in the first turn of the century silent movie version of "Tarzan (So like Linda she had a lot of experience hanging out with a guy in a loin cloth! You know, Linda has had a very small list of credits to her name and yet she has appeared with some of the biggiest names in motion picture history. Her webmaster Mike DeMassi once noted that she has a million stories and has lived a life most people only dream of. I can beleive it. Good idea about the Linda Doll, Gene! Yes, Stefan, I think that's a good idea about having a special thread for Linda's less famous roles like the Madam in "Wild Bill"(if you can find her scene I'd aprecaite it), the business woman in Airport 75 (this thread),Miss Star Dust in "A Guide for the Married Man" and so on. I agree more generic info related to Linda or to Nova is best posted on "NOVA II"). -cozad |

Re: Hi guys, Yeah, that was pretty hillarious with the "Airport Funkified." And that was pretty interesting of what you said, cozad, about Gloria Swanson and "Augusta." That's funny about what you also said cozad about Linda kind of being the strait-"man" in "Airport 1975," because I always thought Linda could play Etta Place in "Butch Cassidy and tha Sundance Kid." And Kathrine Ross (who played her) said that she was the strait-'man' in the film. I also want to say this. Don't you guys think that Linda is the most famouse unknown face in Hollywood? Re: Re: I'm glad you liked the photos, cozad... Interesting - so Swanson was once "Jane" Hm, cozad if you couldn't find Linda in "Wild Bill", I guess my chances aren't that good either, you know... but who knows, maybe I'll recognize her when I get to see the movie. Gene, Quote: Hm, I'm not sure what to say to this... "the most famous unknown" Bye Stefan Edited by: Speed Demon at: 6/2/03 1:00:20 am |

Re: Airport 1975 Hi Gene, cool - so you get to see Airport 75, too Yeah - that's indeed funny they showed "American Graffiti" in the plane - must have been great for you You know what's weird - here in Germany, the movie was aired in fool... I mean fullscreen, so when they showed the movie at first I didn't even recognize this was part of another movie, I thought "what the hell is going on now?" as it was full size on the screen (if you know what I mean). Watch out for Linda - she's so cute... Bye Stefan |
