Summary: It's a sort of crossover with DareDevil.

I leapt up sharply in bed and gasped loudly. Max woke up next to me and looked at me worried.
"Liz what's wrong?"
"I had that dream again"
"I wont let anything happen to you I swear Liz. I swear" he promised me but I knew my dream was the future because I had it every single night and I couldnt do a thing to stop it. I never told him what the dream was but he got the idea it was bad.
I kept seeing myself walking along the street then things went weird everything around me went inverted and then it all went black. I couldn't see anything all.
"Come lay back down. Let's try and get some sleep"
"Max I think I'm getting another change" I said unsurely and he bolted up
"Huh? What is it? Does it hurt? Do you want me to leave the room?"
"No" I grabbed his arm as he went to leave the bed and pulled him back in. "I dont want to be alone tonight Max. Let me look at you"
"Okay" he laid back down opposite me and I ran my finger tips over his face remembering him if that dream should come true. "Liz?"
"Yeah?"
"What are you doing?"
"I can never see you again"
"What?" he whispered and tears welled up in my eyes
"I am never going to see you again. I'm going blind Max, it's another change"
"No it can't be. I'll heal you and make it all better" he put his hands over my eyes but I gripped his wrists and shook my head.
"No Max, you couldnt heal the other stuff. This isnt going to be any different"
"No I can try"
"It wont do any good so please stop it. I dont think I want you to, this is the way it has to be. I can't change it and I dont want you giving me false hope"
"We should tell the others then, have a meeting and..." he got up but I pulled him back into bed.
"Max. Not now, let me see you one last time. I want to see what my husband looks like as he sleeps" I sobbed and he nodded and stretched along side me and fell asleep. I cried softly and clung to him.

The sun shone in my eyes and I had a feeling today would be the day. I got up and went into the bathroom and got myself ready. Max was sat on the bed ready and waiting with our stuff to put in the van.
We had been holed up in every motel in this town because we found rough work.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah I'll be fine"
"I wish you had told me sooner"
"So you could react like you did last night? I just wanted to spend the last night looking at my husband without a care in the world and you sought of shook that up"
"Liz I'm sorry... wait last night? It's going to happen today?"
"Maybe I'm not sure. Some thing is going to happen today but I dont know what it is, it could be anything. We could move on to another town?" I said trying to bring his attention away from today's real point.
"I hope not" he gave me a smile and I went over and hugged him
"Come on let's get our bags in the van. I havent got to work until six tonight so I'm going to do some shopping for new clothes"
"Are you sure? Do you want me to come with you?"
"And miss farm hand work? Max never! We need the money, on bad days we sleep in a van with four other people"
"I know it's just I dont want to leave you alone"
"I know sweetie but I'll be fine" I smiled at him and we took our things out to the van. The others were milling around and talking and I saw him ctach my attention.
"Should we tell them?"
"No not until it actually happens" I whispered back
"Liz" he sounded scared. Hah he was scared and he wasnt the one who was going to loose one of their major senses!
"What are you two whispering about?" asked Maria as she came up to me
"Oh you know married stuff" she stuck her tongue out at me and Isabel stuck her head round the van
"Sex?" she asked and we all went quiet then burst out laughing.
I hugged Max and then Maria and waved goodbye to the others and set off along the street with all the shops.
This was the right moment and by the time I had reached the end of this street I wouldnt be able to see things anymore. I whimpered and stopped in the middle of the street. I could change fate right now, if I walked across the road instead of straight down then I wouldnt go blind. I looked at the road and saw how busy it was. I could get knocked down and then I'd be blind anyway. This is going to be a part of me and I have to accept it. I gathered courage and continued on my way down the street.
Half way down things got blurry and I think I started to cry. I kept walking and soon everything was black. I couldnt see anything at all. I stopped for fear of falling over.
"Max" I called out reaching out with my hands trying to feel anything familiar like a lamp post or building. "Max!" I was frightened now, I hadnt expected to be this afraid of the dark and now it was all around me.
"What's wrong?" I heard a voice and I turned to the sound and my hands found shoulders.
"I'm blind and I've lost my husband" I said
"Oh should I call the police for you?"
"No um I have a friend. She works in Deny's, could you take me there?"
"Sure, here give my your hand" I slid my hand down his shoulder and found his hand. He put the other hand on my back and began directing me.
Soon enough I smelt the fried egss and grease of the cafe and I could tell it was Deny's by the rush.
"Maria" I called out when the stranger was through the door. I heard footsteps coming closer
"Chica? What's wrong?"
"I'm blind" I told her
"Will she be okay now?"
"Yeah thanks" the stranger let go and I felt him move away from me "Liz what's going on?" she asked
"I can't see anything"
"Are you having a joke with me?"
"No I'm not. You have to call Max I can't see. He knows what to do"
"Okay" she sighed "Go and sit down and I'll go use the pay phone" she moved away from me and I reached my hand forward and came into contact with nothing. I reached out to touch something but I couldnt feel anything. I felt like a right idiot.
"Liz?" now that was Isabel's voice and it was behind me
"Isabel"
"What were you doing?" I turned slowly hands out trying to feel and I found her face. I put my hands on her shoulders and she gasped
"Your eyes Liz what happened?"
"I'm blind" I informed her
"What?" she cried in shock "Why?"
"I think it's another change. Maria called Max and he should be here soon. Maria told me to sit down but she left before I could get her to take me to a table"
"Oh here let me help" she took my hands and led me to a table "You've been crying"
"I have a good reason to be upset" I replied harshly and I heard her tone of breathing change.
"I'm sorry Isabel" I told her and the door opened and shut quickly and I could hear heavy panting and quickened breath.
"Max over here!" I called and I heard footsteps coming over
"How did you know it was him?"
"He's my husband I always know it's him" I said simply as Max came over and knelt in front of me.
"It's happened hasnt it?"
"Wait you knew about this?"
"She told me last night. She said it wasnt going to happen today" he said as he put his hands on my cheeks and brought his face close to mine. I could feel his breath against my lips.
"Liz, I'll form a connection with you and heal you okay. Liz you have to look at me" he said
"I can't Max. I can't" I told him and his breath was away from my face. He had his head hung down and I patted his hair
"It'll be okay Max. I'll get used to it"
"No this shouldnt have happened to you" he stamped his foot and the sound reverberated in my eyes and then suddenly I could see things in blue.
"Max do that again"
"What?"
"Stamp your foot!" I said and he did, the sound echoed over the cafe and I could see the place.
"I can see"
"What?"
"I can see things when you stamp your foot" I told him but it wasnt just his foot stamping that was creating the waves it was every sound. I saw things that no one else could, I could see the cafe and Maria in the back. She was being busy with herself
"Isabel tell Maria she shouldnt be doing that on her lunch break" I said and Isabel got up. I saw her form moving through the sonar like waves and towards the back door.
"Liz said you shouldnt be doing that on your lunch break. What ever it is you're doing" she came back and sat down.
"What was she doing?"
"Having a Michael moment, without Michael"
"Oh" said Isabel in shock
"How can you see through walls?"
"The sound. The sound travels over things and it makes a picture and I can see it"
"So you're not really blind?"
"Well I am it's my hearing that's alien charged" I told him and he slid into the seat next to me and held up some fingers.
"How many fingers am I holding up?" he asked. I ran my fingers along the table and found a salt shaker and tapped it on the table and saw his hands held up.
"You're holding up seven fingers Max"
"How about me?" asked Isabel and I banged the shaker again
"You've got four up and I dont appreciate having two sets of fingers stuck up at me"
"Sorry, just testing"
"Yeah well I'm blind not dumb!" I snapped I heard footsteps and a shuffle and the air moved. I banged the salt shaker and saw Maria stnading off to the left of me holding up five fingers on one hand and the middle one on the other.
"You're just pissed coz you got caught. I'm never eating here again Maria" I said "Oh and six fingers all together"
"Are you sure she's blind?" she asked before moving on to greet the new customers.
So this was my new change. I had a feeling it was something to do with my visions. I saw the future and maybe this was another spin off from it? Who knows.
