And they were off once again...
(ooc- I got into NE! Knew I would be allowed back in! *Forgets to mention re-starting* And, sorry again for the delay in my post! >_< )

The sound of stamping feet came towards the doorway of the kitchen in the Brotherhood Headquarters. Although, this stamping of feet sounded a little odd compared to the normal sound that you would hear, this wasn’t because he was a mutant, many mutants walk normally, the was because Jason‘s legs loved to play up give him a bounce as he walked. It was really annoying for the young mutant, it just didn’t make storming off angrily look right anymore.

Once in the kitchen he slumped himself in one of the kitchen stools alongside the bench, and mumbled to himself the comebacks that had been snapped back at him by the mouth of Victoria. It wasn’t fair... just as things went fine between the two, something would come up and it would be over again. Their personalities often clashed, Jason could be careless and impatient at times and often joked around and could be rather sarcastic. Victoria could be stubborn and act like the spoilt brat that she is.

While Jason was busy grumbling away he didn’t even notice his twin sister cleaning up a pile of dishes that someone had been too lazy to clean up from last night. Looking over her shoulder Shauna knew what had gone on, her brother had worn that look a few times before, each time he had had a fight with Victoria. Jason always acted the same, acted as if he didn’t care about her anymore, tried to remain angry with her yet that would never last since no matter what happened the two always ended up back together. Shauna didn’t mind the fights though, she didn’t really like Victoria though she could stand her she didn’t like her.

Shauna: "What was it about this time?"

She asked as she turned around, drying off the last of the dishes and placed it onto the pile of sparkling clean plates. Her voice sounded interested, but she just wanted some amusement since the dishes didn't keep her entertained, this could bring a smile to her face. And her task after this was to find out who was supposed to clean the dishes and seek revenge, sure she didn’t mind being told to do stuff, but doing someone else chores was not what made her happy.

Looking up Jason gave a sort of surprised look since he hadn’t noticed her there nor expected her to be there. By now he had stoped his mumbles and just responded with a grumbled reply. Placing the tea towel down on the table, Shauna just gave a nod acting as if she had understood what was said. It was clear that she wasn’t going to understand what he was going to say, best she be off and find out who left Mystique to make Shauna do the dishes.

As she was just about to leave the kitchen she heard another grumble. Turning around she just gave him a look which told him that she didn’t understand him and the impatience she also had showed that she didn’t want to hang around for much longer.

Jason: "Pass me a banana."

Although he seemed demanding his voice was clearer. From the opposite side of the kitchen Shauna looked to the bowl of fruit, most of which was going brown, that laid at most two metres away from her brother. Now, why should she stop all of her plans and fetch him a banana when he was closest. Honestly, at times he was so lazy, especially when he was angry. Giving a roll of her eyes Shauna just shook her head and walked out of the kitchen to begin her hunt, which would hopefully lead to revenge. How she would do it was uncertain but a few ideas popped into her mind, a dark smirk growing on her face as she went to question some other Brotherhood members.

Mimicking Shauna’s shaking of the head and rolling of the eyes he grumbled once again to himself, probably something Victoria had said which would have suited the moment. Then his dark blue-green eyes looked over to the bowl of fruit, focused on the bunch of banana’s then with a flick of his tongue, he reached out, grabbed them and dropped them into his arms. After he picked the most edible looking banana, meaning the one with the least browness, his tongue escaped his mouth once again, wrapped itself around the banana’s and placed them back into the fruit bowl. Peeling the banana from it’s skin Jason took his first bite into it, still clearly angry by the way he chewed, which was rather fast and hard on his teeth.

Jason: "Why do they keep looking at us like that?"
Shauna: "Our father’s Toad and our mother is a mutant in denial…"
Jason: "Parents reputations always have to stick onto their kids!"

Re: And they were off once again...
(Yay you posted! Don't worry about the wait, I don't mind :) Wasn't quite sure what to post but I wanted to mention Kal occationally being a part of the brotherhood when it suits his needs and I thought this might work. Hope it's okay!)

Victoria stood in the hall outside the kitchen, anger marring her pretty features. She shook with barely surpressed fury and she was mumbling to herself, her hazel eyes flashing. If looks could kill, anyone who had so much as glanced over in her direction at that moment in time would have been dead.

"How dare he!" she said to herself. Her voice was quiet but it shook with equal parts anger and sadness. "I am not a spoiled little brat and he has no right to say so!" She almost wished someone were there so she could take it out on someone or collapse and sob and tell them everything but no one was there. The silence was deafening.

The poison mutant was silent, the anger seeming to have temporarily left her as it usually did after their fights. There was always that flash of irreprescible rage and then it would leave as suddenly as it had set upon her and the smallest things that had angered her so much a few moments earlier suddenly didn't seem so large as they had. Not for the first time Victoria wished she had a real friend in the brotherhood. With an attitude like hers though she was the type of girl attractive to almost every man and hated by almost every woman. She had never had many gal pal friends that she could just talk with and her group had grown smaller since she had begun to spend less time with humans and more time among mutants of her own kind within the Brotherhood.

She'd been there along enough now yet perhaps the feeling of being slightly out of place didn't entirely leave you for awhile. Victoria hadn't seen her father in a few weeks and it was a big change for Daddy's little girl. It seemed just as she had grown closer to Jason she had grown apart from everyone from her old life and had begun to embrace this new role in life.

Victoria was jerked out of her thoughts as the tall teen she had become accustomed to seeing pop up approached her. At 6"4 he towered over her despite being her junior by more than a year. She glared at him and he put up his hands as if to back off. Her poison powers didn't hurt him she had learned but Victoria wasn't a mutant you wanted to get on the bad side of, especially woth her father controlling so much of the city.

"What? I wasn't going to do anything," Kal said defensively. His returning look was dark and moody. It looked like she wasn't the only one having a bad day.

"Like Hades you weren't," she replied with a withering look and was about to take the easy way out of the conversation by openning the kitchen door.

"Another one?" he asked. If she had been looking at his face she would have seen his roll his eyes, even as the slightest ounce of pity passed through him. Kal didn't have to say what the one was. They both knew.

"Care to remind me how that is any of your business?" Victoria asked, swirling around to face him with the glare of a gorgon.

"If you need a shoulder to cry on..." Kal said but there was a smirk on his face and a learing in his tone. He was lucky she didn't slap him.

Controlling her anger, for she couldn't poison him as she would anyone else, Victoria turned back to the kitchen door, about to push it open.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." He was taunting her again.

"Luckily for me you're not," she retorted angrily and walked through the door without a second thought, ending up right in the kitchen with Jason and Shauna there in front of her. Victoria's anger came rushing back full force and childishly she turned her back to him, stomping towards the fridge and pulling out an iced tea she sipped her drink, teeth clenching and unclencing in between sips. Great he was here, just when she thought her day couldn't have gotten any worse. This was just perfect.

Re: And they were off once again...
(ooc- Hey, that’s cool, no problemo with me!)

Hearing the kitchen door open Jason expected it to be anyone, well anyone except Victoria, but since he had his back to the door he didn’t notice her enter. He also didn’t pay much attention to the stomping sound, but then again it was often for someone to get angry with another within the walls of the Brotherhood, so the sound of stomping feet was a common sound. As he quickly finished off his banana and the only thing that lay left in his hands was the banana peel and that didn’t seem all that tasty to the male child of Toad. However, Jason found his spot slouched on the kitchen stool quite comfy, he wasn’t going to get up anytime soon. Maybe he could get whoever was in the room to do it for him...

Opening his mouth to speak he quickly closed it. He wasn’t lazy, well at least he didn’t see it, so the least he could do was prove the poisonous mutant wrong, but then again he really didn’t feel like moving. There was always one way, he was still putting his rubbish in the bin, not being lazy and making someone else do it, yet he didn’t have to leave the comfiness of the wooden stool that he sat upon… he could use his tongue like he had done before!

Slowly it his long tongue stretched out, grabbed the banana peel, it retracted a little as she turned his head so he could see the small bin that was nearby the fridge, then it began to extend again. As hid tongue edged towards the bin he looked at the girl sipping away at her drink. Though he could only see the back of the girl, she looked familiar…

Jason gave a roll of his eyes, now he was even seeing other people as Victoria. As his tongue grew closer towards the bin he realised something, since when did he ever see another person as someone else? He froze for a moment as he thought again, Victoria was in here! His tongue quickly retracted back at a speed, as the first reaction of realising who the girl was, and the banana peel smacked into his mouth.

Oh, of course, where do you rush to when you have a fight with someone? To the same room they’re in! Well, Jason wasn’t going to even let Victoria see what he was about to do. It would obviously be way too lazy for her liking. Taking the banana peel that gagged him from being able to speak (not that he wanted to anyway) he hopped out of the stool, causing it scratch against the surface of the floor, and walked casually towards the bin. As causal as a mutant who had a bounce in his step could anyway.

Once close enough to the bin he stopped and threw the banana peel in acting as if it were a basketball going through a hoop, then he turned a little to see Victoria. Though he narrowed his eyes Jason tried to act a little surprised, as if he didn’t know that she was in the same room as him.

Jason: "You just can’t stay away from me, can you?"

A smirk crossed his features as he spoke smugly, since he was the first of the two to come into the room. It was clearer than the grumbles he finished off with when they last spoke, though his words still flickered with the same anger within as they had before.

Jason: "Come to apologise to me?"

He questioned with his tone mockingly sounding as if he was ready to hear an apology and put the fight aside. Even if she did apologise, which was very unlikely, Jason wasn’t going to accept it as his anger remained flowing through his blood. Then he folded his arms stobbornly as a sign that he wasn’t going to move and waited for an answer, or at least a snappy comeback.

Re: And they were off once again...
Victoria rolled her eyes as Jason threw the banana peel into the bin as if it were a basketball hoop. Was it encoded into the male chromosome that all males must throw their garbage as if it was a sporting event? Honestly. She couldn't believe she had once found that attractive and had even found herself feeling annoyed when his garbage didn't go in and that look crossed his face.

She knew the moment he saw her because his eyes visually narrowed even though he attempted to cover his reaction by looking surprised. She was past the surprised stage. Her own reaction was own of fridgidness and indifference as she pretended she didn't care.

Jason: "You just can’t stay away from me, can you?" The remark was smug and if there was one thing Victoria couldn't stand it was smugness. That was her role, to look smug as others failed and she perservered. No one was suposed to talk to her in that tone. Anger flared up in her again but she didn't want to show it and kept her face blank.

When she was young her father had taught her how to bet and how to win. Her childlike innocence had gotten her far in most games and when innocence didn't work sex appeal was a sure winner with her father's businessmen friends. Victoria had learned a poker face early on and the harmless damsel in distress that she showed the world couldn't have been more far off. In the same way she hid the anger stewing inside of her. She had a hot temper and could be as stubborn as a bull, often she was and that was what had brought on a good number of their several fights, it was just that on the rare occation when she felt it would benefit her she could attenpt to hide this. Attempt being the key word.

He was continuing to speak now though, "come to apologise to me?"

As she replied her words were frosty, her gaze even colder but her teeth were still slightly clenched and she gave off the impression that anger still sizzled beneath the surface. "That'll be a cold day in hell Frog Legs," she said with scorn, using the name she knew he despised.

Strangely satisfied, as she usually was after a particularly frosty comeback in their off phases she waited for his next words, half wanting to hear what he would come up with and waiting to take him down a peg and half wanting him to apologise to her and treat her like the princess she practically was. It was always like this, her torn between hating his guts for whatever offence he had committed recently(most often meaning not worshiping her properly), and wanting to be his again. It was a rocky road but she enjoyed their soap opera of a relationship and when they were on they were on. Unfortunently in the same way when they were off there was often shouting, violence and mainly name calling and childish behaviour that would rival even a seven year old. It was with the joy of a seven year old involved in an insult contest that Victoria awaited Jason's next words.

Re: And they were off once again...
"That'll be a cold day in hell Frog Legs," After he had last spoke his eyes had lessened on the glare, but hearing the one name he hated to be called they quickly narrowed again. He hated it because he couldn’t help how he walked and had always been a little self-conscious of it, fearing that one day he’d just have to jump and leap everywhere he went. Also, the nickname also reminded him of how the French eat frogs legs, looking down to his legs for a short moment, he didn’t like the thought of them being on a menu, and the thought of eating frog was just disgusting, nowhere near as good as a peanut butter, pineapple and mustard sandwich!

There was also another nickname he hated, Toad Junior, that one just made him think that everyone else thought that he was just like his father, sure they had the same powers, but he was different from to Toad. Although he couldn't run from the fact that he was Shauna and his father, he never wanted anything to do with him again.

Jason: "… Fine!"

There was a slight pause before he spoke his one word grumpily and angrily, though as he did his teeth stayed tightly clenched. Jason himself wasn’t sure why he just said that, it made him sound as if he wanted an apology when he didn’t! At least he didn’t think so… If there was an apology, the fight would be over and things would be better again...

He was about to open his mouth and apologise from a brief moment lost in thought. Luckily he didn’t, but his mouth may have looked as if it hesitated, though Jason didn’t notice. He wasn’t going to be the one to apologise. He wasn’t going to run back to her, he didn’t want to worship Victoria as if she were some Goddess. She was just a little rich girl who had everything money could buy, a father who had spoiled her as she grew up. She didn’t know any other way and wasn’t even ready to learn the ways how other people lived. Not every one was spoiled like her and in truth he was a little jealous, he was never spoiled once, never did his mother come home with gifts for her children for no reason. Even for their birthdays did they hardly get good presents and after she found out about her children being mutant they got even worse gifts, if any at all and she was a mutant herself. The only thing they really got from their family was the fact they could be good allies and used over and over again, like their father had.

Jason: "Have fun trying to find someone who'll worship you enough, your majesty!"

As a mocking gesture he gave a little bow, as one would do to royalty. How he spoke made it sound as if Victoria would have a hard time finding someone to replace him, but in truth there were many guys out there who wouldn’t waste a chance if given one with the poisonous mutant. Jason wasn’t stupid, he knew this fact and didn’t really like it since deep down he didn’t want to be replaced with another guy, but he wasn’t going to let Victoria know that.

Re: And they were off once again...
Victoria watched as his eyes narrowed again and tried to ignore that brief pain of guilt and sorrow at seeing him look at her like that. She didn't want him to think she was some blonde ditz who couldn't live without a man or who clung to one guy. She could have anyone she wanted, so why did she keep coming back to Jason? It was a question she had asked herself several times and never really found a satidfactory answer to. Anyone who wasn't a selfish brat like herself would have figured it out, she was in love with him and love rarely made any sort of sense, but Victoria wasn't used to it. She was used to twisting guys around her little finger. She wasn't used to them twisting her finger back.

There was a long pause before he said "… Fine!" It was grumpy and angry and his teeth clenched as she spat the word out. Victoria had secretly been hoping he would apologise, it would make things a heck of alot easier and she wanted it to be over. She had to admit that while she liked having a guy she couldn't drag around on a leash she didn't appreciate him fighting back with such fervor. Nor did she appreciate him honestly telling her what a spoiled brat she was. She was Victoria, spoiled yes but the princess and queen of every guy's heart. To some of the losers in her hometown she had been a Goddess. What was she now? Just a girl and maybe that was what bugged her. She liked being put on a pedestal and she expected him to apologise to her. There was no way she would say she was sorry. This she promised herself although she had done so in the past after the fight had gone on to long. Those were the times when they couldn't even remember what they had been fighting about and just wanted to be together again.

"Have fun trying to find someone who'll worship you enough, your majesty!" he said after a moment of hesitation in which she had thought he would apologise.

As if that wasn't bad enough he was mocking her now, bowing as one would to the queen and it pushed her over the edge. She had been actually considering apologising despite her self promise a few seconds ago but after this... He had humiliated her and her pride was deeply wounded although the only thing to show this was a brief flash of hurt across her lovely features.

There were a ton of other guys, several who would jump at the chance to be with her and some who were even decent guys. The problem was she wasn't interested in any of them. All she wanted was him. Couldn't he see it?

In a huff Victoria turned to him, eyes blazing with glory as she tossed his words back in his face in a fire of wounded pride. "Give me ten minutes and I'll have someone and a throne. In ten minutes you couldn't even walk to the front door, let alone find someone Junior," Victoria said. It was cruel even by her standards and she knew it. She stood there a moment, unsure of just what to say or of how to act. Her mouth fell open and her crimson lips looked about to say something but her mouth snapped shut and pride again blocked the way.

The moment was broken as the sound of clapping was heard and the tall alien boy entered the room, green eyes full of mischief and lust. "Looks like you only need five Princess," he said with a smirk. Victoria wasn't sure if Jason noticed or not, whether he was blinded by her rude words or if it was just him choosing to ignore her but the look she gave Kal was withering for a brief moment, filled with disgust. She was still angry though and knew that if need be she could try and fight off the alien boy. He wouldn't really harm her and she could at least try to twist him around.

"You see, I've found someone already," she said but her heart wasn't in the jest. Victoria waited a moment, her eyes searching his as she begged him to apologise silently but there was nothing on the outside to show it other than a slight remainder of disgust directed ay Kal-El. Most people, having hit a nerve like that would have left but she still hoped that she hadn't hurt him even as she knew she had and that he would apologise or at least say something, anything at all. She didn't want Kal and never would. She only wanted him.

Will: So...what did you dream about?

Re: And they were off once again...
Rasing from his bow Jason’s blue-green eyes looked over to see Victoria’s reaction, seeing the quick look of hurt upon her face. He had prepared to be yelled at, even braced himself for a moment thinking that he was going to get slapped, but hadn’t expected that look. Within his mouth his bit his tongue with guilt, not realising that he may have taken it a little far, only thinking… well not really thinking at all.

"Give me ten minutes and I'll have someone and a throne. In ten minutes you couldn't even walk to the front door, let alone find someone Junior," At least the hurt look was gone from Victoria’s face as she threw what he had previously said right back in his face. At that moment he couldn’t think of a reply, if he did even try and strain a sentence out, it probably would have gone along the lines of; ‘Well, I didn’t expect that!’ She wasn’t really going to run off and find someone else, she couldn’t have taken him seriously… had she? She knew he was often sarcastic, why didn't she just snap back something about his sarcasm instead of saying that she'd find someone else. He stared straight at the poison mutant who was once his though his gaze went through her, she wasn’t… No, she wouldn’t. He hadn’t really meant for her to go and find someone else, it had just come out of his mouth. She could see that, right?

The sound of clapping quickly returned Jason from lost thoughts and watched as Kal-El made his way in. Defensively, he narrowed his eyes, this was between Victoria and himself, why did he have to enter it as well?

"Looks like you only need five Princess," How dare he get involved with this, couldn’t he just stay out of things that didn’t involve him. Jason had noticed him hanging around Victoria a few times and hadn’t really paid much attention to it since the two were still together at the time.

"You see, I've found someone already," If he would have let it out, a look of panic would have spread across his face. No matter how angry he had been, he didn’t really want to lose her. Jason had only really paid attention to the words used and not the voice of tone, which would probably have told him different. Feeling Victoria’s eyes upon his, he looked back to her though his gaze didn’t notice anything.

He quickly looked away from her and returned to his glaring back at Kal. She didn’t really want him, did she? Well, he did have a proper skin colour and could walk properly… Jason frowned a little, he would be able to walk around in daylight without getting people pointing at him for a greenish tone, or for a strange walk like Jason got. Again he took a moment to wonder if she really wanted him, since he didn’t really know Kal he couldn’t tell if he was the type of guy Victoria would go for. He couldn’t be for her, stubbornly he kept thinking that it wasn’t true. He wanted Victoria back.

… Maybe she was just pretending… just going along with Kal’s entry just to bug him… yeah, that had to be it. He kept repeating that as an actual thought in his mind, but he just couldn’t convince himself…

"I hope you two are happy together then!" He tried as hard as he could to sound as if he didn’t care but the few looks he had given out before would be reliable evidence to prove otherwise. Meanwhile, on the inside he felt a little hurt, though he had started to finally believe that she was just going for the first guy and tried again to convince himself that that was what was really going on, but it was a struggle.

He was about to walk off, maybe if he was alone he could probably come to some conclusion, but he didn’t want to walk out of the room seeing Kal in it with Victoria. "Would you like me to leave you two alone? Or do you want some extra help moving in the throne?" He asked in a snappy and childish tone, using that as an excuse to stay and hopefully read Victoria’s face to see if who she really wanted out of the two guys in the room. Hopefully, he’d get to read the answer that he wanted and not leave the kitchen in a hurt state.

Re: And they were off once again...
"I hope you two are happy together then!" Victoria heard him say and his tone tried but couldn't quite succeed in making it look like he didn't care. Curiously her eyes moved back to him, searching for something but maybe she didn't believe it was there and you had to believe something before you could see it. Whatever happened she didn't find what she was looking for, she couldn't see the hurt that mirrored her own for the anger.

"We will," Victoria said firmly and she managed to withhold the
slight tremor in her voice. Kal, taking advantage of her state for there was no way he couldn't have known that she didn't feel anything other than disgust for him, grinned over at Jason as the green skinned mutant spoke again, "Would you like me to leave you two alone? Or do you want some extra help moving in the throne?"

Kal was downright cruel as a smug look that could only be described as a self centred smirk crossed his face. Even Victoria, who had seen and put on her own share of smirks was repulsed by this one and she wanted nothing more than to wipe it off of his face. She would have too but a quick glance at Jason told her firmly that she couldn't. She would not let him win and if that meant that she would have to spend a few minutes with Kal than so be it. There were worse men. Sure he was a self centred bastard but she wasn't the only brotherhood mutant who had noticed that every once and awhile something would come over him and he would seem quiet and utterly bewildered, sometimes moody and moapy. Besides he was easy on the eyes she had to admit.

It was her thought that perhaps made the whole situation ten times worse for it meant that Kal could speak unrestricted, not having to worry about getting a dose of poison, even if it wouldn't kill him. "Don't you worry froglegs I've got powers remember, not your poor mutant excuse for powers, real ones. I'll have her throne wherever she wants it before you even lift a finger. Now honestly do you think you could move anything with your jellylegs?" He gave a little wave with his hand in mocery, indicating that Jason could leave anytime.

"Kal," Victoria started sharply but as his malicious green eyes met hers they dared her to say it, dared her to overcome her foolish pride and speak up. She couldn't and weakly backed off. Her eyes tried to meet Jason's almost pleadingly but she couldn't do that either. Kal wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. She didn't fight him even though his grip was tight and she didn't want him there. Oh God. He was going to try and kiss her. Victoria had kissed him before, again during an arguement with Jason but his lips had been cold and rough compared to Jason's. She didn't want them on her again and wished her stubborness would fade and let her talk to him but it wouldn't. Silently she wished that he would do or say something. Didn't he know he was the only one for her?

Re: And they were off once again...
Straight away he looked over to Kal, the look growing on the green mutants face showed a growing hate towards the alien boy. Victoria could have, at least, chose someone else, though whoever she chose Jason would probably have grown a strong disliking towards him even if it was one of his own friends.

Then again, Jason remembered that he was trying to act as if he didn’t care but he decided to give that up for now. The smugness Kal had was enough to disgust anyone.

"Don't you worry froglegs I've got powers remember, not your poor mutant excuse for powers, real ones. I'll have her throne wherever she wants it before you even lift a finger. Now honestly do you think you could move anything with your jellylegs?" His fists clenched a little as the alien boy went on, but taking a deep breath Jason regained a little calmness. Just because Kal was gifted with different powers since he was, overall, different didn’t give him the right to think he was any superior than the many mutants he lived with. He wondered for a moment why Mystique allowed him to stay here, maybe he could pay her a visit and come up with some worthwhile story so he would get kicked out. He quickly erased that thought from his mind. Jason might have done that when he was younger, but he was old enough to take care of his own matters now. Sure, he may not have the strength, speed and everything else Kal had, but Jason was still powerful, or so he told himself. Well, it was true, he had helped out the Brotherhood a number of times and become one of the valued mutants, getting special praise from both Mystique and Magneto. Though, that still didn’t compare to what Kal was compatible of.

"Kal," Jason was almost expecting Victoria to tell him off, a smirk ready to form once she did, but she stopped. No more words spoken, but they weren’t needed as Kal’s arms wrapped themselves around her waist. He wasn’t allowed to do that! It was Jason’s arms that were supposed to be surrounding Victoria’s waist, not someone else’s. He quickly guessed a kiss might come next, wether Kal did it because he felt something for Victoria or because he wanted to bug Jason wasn’t certain to the son of Toad, but he didn’t want to see it. Although he wouldn’t admit it aloud, seeing someone else’s lips touch her would be shattering.

Before a jealous look could overcame his green face Jason turned a little, not really wanting to see them anymore. "… If you two want to be all lovey dovey, it’s best I leave you alone," He still wasn’t sure wether Victoria really wanted him or not, and gave her one last look as if giving her a chance to brake free of Kal’s tight grip and leave the room with him. It was the shortest of looks, so even if Victoria gave him the most pleading of looks, Jason wouldn’t have seen it. Quickly he turned around and walked, as much as his jelly-ish legs would take him, the word ‘jellylegs’ in the alien boy’s voice repeating inside his head as if he was still taunting him.

Once outside the kitchen he let the door close by itself, not really wanting to exit with a slam. Once he heard the door click shut, Jason leaned against the wall that ran next to the door. He let out a stressed sigh before he lightly banged his head against the wall a few times. It would have been so easy to have just said that one word. If he did, Kal wouldn’t be so smug, he could have Victoria in his arms again, he could be the one to kiss her. He slammed his head a little hard against the wall that backed onto the fridge in the Kitchen, he was so stupid to not have said it. An apology was what fixed things, it was like a band-aid between couples.

The worst thing was he couldn’t walk back inside there and say it, it had gone too long, he was in too deep. He gave a weak and depressed look, no one saw though since no one was walking past the small hallway he was in. What if it was over? Not like all the other times where they’d get back together. Over forever…

"Sorry…" He whispered the one word, which he was too stubborn to say before when he was in Victoria’s presence. Instead he just commented on her being a spoilt brat, and when in the kitchen he didn’t even try to make things better. He felt hurt, he thought that it was really over, the only thought in his head was one hoping that Kal would treat her well...

Jason: "Why do they keep looking at us like that?"
Shauna: "Our father’s Toad and our mother is a mutant in denial…"
Jason: "Parents reputations always have to stick onto their kids!"

Re: And they were off once again...
Victoria watched as Jason turned from her and felt a part of her break. She wanted more than anything to wrench herself out of Kal's grip, perhaps to slap him just for good measure and then to apologise and make puppy dog eyes until Jason forgave her. Unfortunently her brain and her heart were completely seperate entities and they didn't seem to function as a whole, they never had really. Victoria would want one thing, need one thing yet she wouldn't go get it. Not if it would mean her humbling herself anyway. She wanted things presented to her on a silver platter and she wanted herself put high on a pedestal to be adored by all. Jason was not that type of guy and that's where the trouble came from.

"… If you two want to be all lovey dovey, it’s best I leave you alone," She heard Jason say and looked back at him, half hoping to catch his eye, knowing that one look would betray her real feelings right now. His returning look was too quick though and their eyes didn't meet. He walked out of the room without another word and left Victoria in Kal's arms, a smug look upon his handsome face.

Victoria's powers were of poison, she had no supernatural senses and there was no way she could have heard as Jason let out a whispered sorry further down the hall. Kal's alien senses picked up the sound though and he stiffened at the one word.

He had been losing grip all week to be honest. Heck he was constantly losing grip the longer he had that ring on his finger. Now it was worse though and he felt the urge to rip it off right there yet knew he wouldn't.

Instead he pulled Victoria closer, trying to fight away that image of the dark haired girl in pink who had tears marring her beautiful face. She was always there no matter where he went but he had left to protect her...hadn't he?

His lips met hers in a fierce kiss that neither one really wanted but both needed, pent up frustration and anger at being apart from the ones they loved exploding in that passionate kiss. They didn't love eachother. Hell they didn't even like eachother but perhaps they needed eachother, just that once.

They broke apart as if on fire and Victoria felt tears sting her eyes and quickly blinked them back. That was it, they may not have technically been together but she had kissed another man and there was no way he'd forgive her after his, even if it had just confirmed what she had always known-that Jason was the only one she cared for.

Kal meanwhile almost moaned out the name that had haunted him for months now, "Lana".

That jerked Victoria out of it and she looked over at him in disgust. Sure she knew that neither one of them had wanted that kiss but he could have at least respected her enough to not think of another woman while doing it. She was just about to comment on this when his green eyes looked up and she saw something entirely different in them.

In the palm of his hand sat the ring he would never take off, a dull red in colour and he himself looked deeply troubled.

"Kal?" she asked and he looked dazed as he shook his head.

"Clark," he said softly, his voice sweeter and more innocent than she had ever heard before. His face gained more composure and he pushed through the kitchen door without another word, thinking of someone and something else that he wanted to return to. The battle within was far too strong now for anyone to reach him or for the moment with Victoria to effect him. He stumbled out of view, looking like he was in a drunken daze.

The poison princess watched him go with a stunned expression upon her lovely face. Lana? Clark? Those were names she had never heard before and she wondered briefly if this was part of the past Kal had so carefully kept hidden from all in the brotherhood. As she was left alone in the kitchen though her mind was clouded yet again with thoughts of Jason and she wondered how she would face him now. She needed him, she knew that now but what was she suposed to say to get him back?

Victoria: I am one spoiled brat you do not want to mess with.

Re: And they were off once again...
With his head pressed tightly against the wall that he leaned on, Jason began to feel anger flow through him. His anger wasn’t aimed at Victoria though, or even their stupid fight. It was aimed at himself, since he couldn’t be man enough to simply apologise to her when he had the chance. He knew how childish he could get and he wanted to change. If he could act his age all the time there wouldn’t be any fights, but he did and there were.

Jason knew that was something that annoyed Victoria. He knew how she wanted to be treated, but sometimes it was hard to just put her before everything else. Especially since Shauna had been stubbornly insisting that he join in with missions with her. The twins were a good team together, they could complete any mission that Mystique or Magneto set for them and normally they’d do it without any questions asked. However, since Jason had met Victoria his views had changed as he tried to treat the young poisonous mutant the way she wanted to be treated. Sometimes missions that were meant to be small could take a few days, and that’s when probably a few of their fights occurred from. Jason would have to ring Victoria and tell her to cancel their plans because the mission was taking too long. Even if she had pleaded for him to return, Shauna would come up with some story guilting him into having some ‘family time’.

Giving a stressed groan as he thought about the girls who seemed to have control of his life, Victoria more so since his sister had seemed to give up on Jason and become more independent, he stroked his hand through his dark, thick green hair. At this time a size-altering mutant made his way down the hallway, giving Jason a curious look. The two had been friends a few years ago, since they both arrived at the Brotherhood at the same time, but after Jason and Shauna left the Brotherhood for their own space a little while ago the two rarely spoke. Even though Jason had returned he didn’t even bother to try and become friends with Nick again.

Hearing the footsteps overcome the silence in the hall, Jason quickly looked over to Nick, hoping that it was Victoria. He frowned as he noticed who it was. He also noticed that there was a bit of a limp to his walk, although Jason didn’t really take much notice of it, since he thought it could be from anything, like from a mission or something.

"Don’t be too happy to see me, mate!" Nick said, smirking at the frown. He had seemed to gain some kind of pleasure in seeing Jason in bad moods. That was due to their lost friendship. Nick was not going to forgive Jason for leaving the Brotherhood for no reason at all. He recalled scoffing at the remark they had made about wanting time to be alone and away from others. To him that was hardly an excuse. And then Jason hadn’t even tried to remain friends with him, Nick couldn’t have done anything since he didn’t know where his friend was off too.

"You and your chick had a fight?" The question received a nasty glare from Jason, who stood up properly a threatening look growing. He had clearly not liked the way Nick had spoken about Victoria. She was a person, not an object. From there Nick’s smirk faded as he stepped backwards, the limp still showing. "Hey… I’m not here to cause trouble. I only came this way since I slacked off with the dishes," The tone the size-altering mutant used showed a sort of worry, the way he looked over his shoulders proved that he seemed a little paranoid at the moment. Jason smirked, he knew what had happened. Shauna had gotten to him, he thought that he had noticed that she wasn’t that happy cleaning the dishes but was too busy with his own matters to think into it.

"And here I thought your sister was the twin with powerful arm muscles!" He tried to make a joke out of it as he rubbed his injured leg that Shauna had give quite the kick to, but as he looked up to Jason he didn’t notice him laughing, or any sign of amusement. "Maybe I should go and… uh… finish off those dishes… Yeah!" With that he scampered off into the kitchen, and Jason smirked again before returning to leaning against the wall.

Folding his arms grumpily he tried to think of a way of making it up to Victoria. That was until he reminded himself of Kal. Jason’s eyes narrowed while lost in thought. His head began to tilt to the side as he began thinking nasty thoughts of Kal, until it quickly straightened up. Nick had just gone into the kitchen and the only thing he could think of was that if Victoria was really out to get him, would she give into Nick if he tried something? Kal would probably have tried to stop something, but there wasn’t much noise in the kitchen so Jason wasn’t sure what was going on.

He gave a panicked look towards the kitchen door, hesitating on going back in there or not. With his heart getting the better of him, Jason leaped over to the door arriving there in a matter of seconds since a leap was much quicker than a step. He stared at the door handle for a moment as he hesitated once more. Then, for the first time for a long time, he used his stubbornness for good and opened the door. From where he had previously leaped, Jason stepped into the kitchen, noticing Victoria alone in the kitchen. His bluish-green eyes scanned the room once more, seeing no one else. Not Kal, nor Nick who had obviously noticed all the dishes were clean and dried and had left via the other door.

Then his eyes returned to Victoria. Jason frowned at the look on her face, he couldn’t read what she was thinking from it. However, he didn’t like the look on her face, it only made him worry. "What did he do to you?" Without even realising it, he had put the fight beside him, for now at least. He didn’t seem to care if they had broken up or not, he just wanted to know if she was alright. Although he had said ‘he’ Jason wasn’t sure if he was talking about Kal, or Nick. Maybe it was both, he didn’t care.

He wanted to move closer to her, but he couldn’t. Not with knowing that she wasn’t his anymore. So, he stayed a step or two inside the kitchen from the doorway. Jason felt an odd silence fill the room, and it had only been a very short while since he had spoken. He wasn’t sure if he should say something else, just wait for an answer, go or stay. But with his feet remaining on the ground as if stuck by glue he felt his only option was to stay for an answer...

Re: And they were off once again...
Victoria felt herself physically jump at the unexpected noise as the door sprung open. Her hazel eyes glanced up and upon seeing Jason standing there they widened for a moment, so glad was she that the intruder was not the obviously distrurbed Kal. She knew he must have seen her flinch as the door openned though and her cheeks burned although outwardly they were only slightly pink, hidden mostly in her expensive makeup.

She panicked and unable to say anything along the lines of you frightened me she glared at him even though the anger was more at herself for being such a baby than at Jason. "Knock much?" Victoria retorted furiously with an air of superiority. Inwardly she was kicking herself though. She loved him despite all their arguments and maybe he had come to make up or something. Victoria was runing whatever he was going to say with her sharp nature and she quited down and something in her eyes calmed.

Her face returned to its worried state though and Victoria couldn't quite seem to stand still as she paced the length of the room and back, stopping in front of Jason.

"What did he do to you," came the slightly demanding but mostly concerning question. Victoria looked up and her green eyes met with his worry meeting worry. He had put the fight behind them and she hoped that she could do the same, knowing that their personal bickering and problems weren't the issue at the moment.

"Nothing," she heard herself say. It didn't sound denying, just very empty and almost full of shock. Victoria shook her head, "He kissed me but then..it wasn't like that. He said someone else's name and.." she trailed off, full of a weird sort of sympathy for the man she had despised not more than ten minutes earlier.

"It was like he was another person almost. Our very own Jekyll and Hyde..and the ring he wears it was in his palm," Victoria continued, determined to get it all out before he started in on her about that kiss. That would be the end of it surely. They'd been apart before but their arguments weren't always this bad and she had never kissed another guy so quickly before. It hadn't meant anything but would he know that?

"I don't know what to do," she burst out at last and this was Victoria coming as close to vulnerability as she got. She didn't break down, she never admitted she was wrong but she was about to do both it seemed and for once she had even said that she didn't know the answer. Most people would have taken the opportunity to get in a jibe or two before she put her guard back up but Victoria wasn't thinking about that now. Her thoughts were torn, alternating between a tall dark haired alien who had said one name with a passion and love that she hadn't known he could ever feel and the green jelly legged boy that she was still in love with. What do I do? Does he need help? What about Jason? Is it really over? A million questions ran through her mind but she couldn't get any of them out so she just stood there and hoped somehow desperately that he could understand.

Re: And they were off once again...
"Nothing," Although her voice didn’t seem to deny anything, Jason felt that there was something else to it. Victoria wouldn't look that worried over just nothing...

"He kissed me but then..it wasn't like that. He said someone else's name and.." Disappointment rushed into his body, making him feel like a little kid told that Santa wasn’t coming for Christmas. Kal kissed her?! That hurt Jason and seemed to destroy that little bit of hope he had about getting Victoria back. Then his eyes narrowed as he heard about the other name. First he kisses the girl that Jason loves, then he says someone else’s name? You can’t go around doing that! However, Jason seemed to be more offended by that than Victoria, well by the way she had spoken. Why should he be given any sympathy?

"It was like he was another person almost. Our very own Jekyll and Hyde..and the ring he wears it was in his palm," Jason was still angry about the kiss to even care about Kal acting as someone else, or for his stupid ring. He hadn’t even noticed that the alien boy even wore a ring!

"I don't know what to do," Jason scoffed at first, his reaction showing jealousy about the kiss as well as a slight tinge of anger. That was until what she had said sunk into him. She seemed so vulnerable, and maybe if he was angry enough with her Jason would have used that against Victoria with some snappy comeback or just in a way to make her feel bad so he could feel better. He didn’t, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t angry, he just wasn’t angry enough.

The way she looked, lost, made the green mutant feel almost sympathetic for her, though before that feeling could get too far Jason pushed it away. He didn’t feel like giving anyone sympathy at this moment of time. Instead he felt his jealous anger boil inside, and allowed it to happen. He had all right to feel like this anyway, well that’s how he felt, if the fight alone wasn’t enough to get him into a sour mood they way Kal had stepped in made things much worse. Then he comes back to find his ‘former’ girlfriend full of worry to then find out that she was already off kissing another guy. How could she really get over him so quick, when Jason was struggling to find a proper emotion to feel about all this?

"… You don’t know what to do?" By now there had been a short time of awkward silence, his words slicing through showing the two sole feelings he had at the moment. Jealousy seemed to have faded, though it remained a little through his the disappointment he felt.

"If you want my advice…" His tone made it sound as if he was going to act all grown up about it and tell Victoria what she needed to hear, when in truth Jason felt hesitant. Should he really tell her what she needs to hear, or the complete opposite? Then again, if he wanted to give the poisonous mutant the right advice, what was it? "… Why don’t you go after him? I’m surprised you haven’t already with the way you’re acting," With his mouth closed Jason gritted his teeth. That was just great! Not only had he said that in a sulkish tone, he had just given her the opportunity to run after Kal. That was the last thing he wanted.

He gave a grumble, as he almost fully expected her to leave. Turning away from Victoria he leaped over to the fridge, not in the mood to walk and pulled the door open. His hand quickly rushed to a can of soft drink, though as he pulled it out Jason gave the can a shake. It was empty, could explain why it felt so light. There always had to be someone who was too lazy to step a few meters and place it in the bin. Closing the fridge door he stared at the can for a moment, something seemed familiar about it. Then he remembered offering Victoria the same drink when she first arrived at the Brotherhood. His reaction to that memory was his hand crushing the can within a matter of seconds.

"How…" Next he found himself turning around and looking back over to Victoria. "… Why…" His voice trailed again as he struggled to come up with a decent question. "… Stuff it!" He quickly concluded with, with an added shake of the head. He looked at her hazel eyes from his little distance away before turning his attention over to the bin. Within a leap he was next to it and the can made a ‘clunk’ as it landed upon other rubbish.

Jason didn’t understand it, why a relationship was so difficult. What he had with a previous girl had ended on bad terms as well. However, Jason was much younger and still his normal skin colour back then. He was also not all that mature and tried to impress the girl with his mutant tongue, she found it rather fowl and ran off as quick as she could.

He looked back over to Victoria, his mouth readied itself to speak but giving a stressful groan he turned his attention back to the bin. He knew that he wanted to at least try and make things better, but instead he felt that he had made thins worse. Though, he couldn’t blame himself for all of it, he wasn’t off kissing someone else straight away! Another thing he knew was that he wouldn’t say the right words and that was what stopped him from speaking. As much as he wanted to string together a full sentence, he knew he wouldn’t be able to, and if he managed one… did he really want to know what he’d say?
