Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
One inside her room, Angela shut the door behind them, standing in front of it as it to block Cat's escape, the singer took in a deep breath as she thought over what she wanted to bring out into the open. But she waited a moment for Cat's eyes to stop wondering about her room, her queen size bed was covered in a silky red blanket that where darker silky red hearts over it. It wasn't her favorite; in fact, she was counting down the days until she could put new linen over her bed, but Cody had gotten it for her and he would be upset if she didn't keep it for at least two weeks. Her satin red pillows had a small white fluffy Cat sitting against them, the stuffed kitten someone she had gotten at an amusement park with her father.
Another thing on the bed was a small brown fluffy shape that suddenly moved, his head popping up and his brown eyes peering towards Angela and Cat. With a bark, the small dog leapt off the bed, his tail curling over his golden beige back, his black snout sniffing Cat's legs before running off to Angela and excitedly standing up on his back legs as she patted him.
"Hey Twaa! How are you? Good boy!" She grinned as she patted Troy, who had the nickname Twaa, which in itself was a story on how he got it. Once he had his pats, the young pup seemed content in jumping back up onto the bed and watching them from there. Angela's walls where bare except for photo's of her, Dawn, Lisa and Riley, plus some other faces of students who she was friends with but didn't spend a lot of time with them. Most of her photos where on the back of her door, on the doors of her closet and around the wall just above her desk. Which was also cluttered slightly with various things, some small dragon statues (She was obsessed with those scaled creatures and spent most of her youth drawing them) and a collection of make-up, no where near the stash that Lisa or Dawn had, just a small bunch so she had something for special events.
Her window was open, both to keep the air of her room fresh since she had Troy staying in there for most of the day, even though one of the students who where part of the pet nursery would come around to take him for walks and to feed him and such while Angela was in classes.
"Cat.." Angela finally managed to say, almost as if that alone wiped away her breath, taking another moment before she could continue.
"When Riley first came here.." She leaned back and folded her arms across her chest as she grew a rather thoughtful expression upon her face while talking.
"And right up till last week, he's always ignored any advances any girl has ever made towards him, bluntly, in fact, Dawn was convinced he was gay." A grin flashed across her lips before fading quickly as she pushed on before Cat could interrupt her, taking in another breath and her eyes falling down on Troy's form as his light fluffy tail twitched about in a semi-wag of excitement.
"But see, Dawn realized he had gotten a crush on this girl, and it was really weird because he hardly knew her, but.. he did things for her, that seem to have gotten him into trouble, I don't know.." She shrugged, after all it could just be a coincidence, but Angela refused to let Cat get a word in, continuing on without stopping. After all, this was serious, how could Dawn even think of trying to get Cat and Riley down at the club together if it was going to spark something that Riley might have forgotten and then Cat still yells at him, he'll be heart broken and Angela didn't want to see him go through any more stress.
"Dawn says she never saw him like that before, he was so determined to make sure she was safe and then he was so upset when she was hurt.. Riley's so thick headed it takes a few beatings for him to realize what he's feeling, but Dawn could tell right away.." The elemental absorption mutant stared now down at her feet, it was so hard, because she wasn't really the best of explaining things like this, and she didn't want to make anything worse for Cat or Riley. Focusing her attention on her white sneakers, which where half hidden away by her jeans, the Australian singer carried on.
"I think if Riley spends more time with this girl.. he'll fall for her again, but I don't want that to happen if the girl he likes doesn't like him back. So Catherine.." She used her whole name, as if to signify the importance of what she was about to say next, her heart was racing to fast, part of her expected Cat to start yelling at her.
"If Riley falls in love with you again, what are you going to do? Because he seemed very keen on the glimpses of the memories he's been seeing, I think he wants that feeling back." Honestly Angela felt as if she should brace herself for flying objects that Catherine might grab and start throwing at her, or scream at her, that was often the response her mother gave Angela when she tried to confront her about something, Angela's eyes where glued down towards her sneakers with intense interest..
Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
Her eyes sweapt about the room, coming to land upon various objects, it was very femanine to Cat's eyes but then it paled into comparison next to Dawn's room and Lisa's rooms, but she hadn't spent much time in either. She had lots of posessions, lots and lots, Cat wanted to go around and look at everything but she knew it would be rude to.
She didn't even notice the small dog on the bed untill it jumped off and ran upto her, she was about to bend down and stroke it when it bounded off towards Angie, obviously overjoyed to see her. Cat crossed her arms and looked about her again.
"Hey Twaa! How are you? Good boy!" Cat looked over at her in suprise, that was a kind of odd name for a dog, but then perhaps it was only a pet name. Cat hadn't known you could have pets here, it wouldn't have mattered though, she didn't have one to bring with her. She watched as the dog sprang back onto the bed again, settling down on the covers and watching them out of large brown eyes. Cat found her gaze being pulled back to Angela, she wondered what the girl wanted to talk to her about.
"Cat.." Anglea somehow managed top make her name sound very ominous. "When Riley first came here.." She had Cat's full antention now that Riley's name had been mentioned. "And right up till last week, he's always ignored any advances any girl has ever made towards him, bluntly, in fact, Dawn was convinced he was gay." Cat wanted to ask what relevance all this had but she didn't get chance to speak, Anglea ploughed on without waiting for an answer.
"But see, Dawn realized he had gotten a crush on this girl, and it was really weird because he hardly knew her, but.. he did things for her, that seem to have gotten him into trouble, I don't know.." Riley liked someone else? It hadn't clicked that Angela was talking about her, she wanted ask who this girl was but again she didn't get a chance to speak.
"Dawn says she never saw him like that before, she was so determined to make sure he was safe and then he was so upset when she was hurt.. Riley's so thick headed it takes a few beatings for him to realize what he's feeling, but Dawn could tell right away.." Could they tell right away that she liked him .... loved him? She felt a slight rising of panic in the back of her mind, she didn't want anyone to know, none was to know what happened back at the initiative, especially not Riley.
"I think if Riley spends more time with this girl.. he'll fall for her again, but I don't want that to happen if the girl he likes doesn't like him back. So Catherine.." Who was this girl they were talking about? She wanted to know ... who had Riley liked, hadn't he remembered her back at the initiative, had he liked her more than Cat, would he be upset if he remembered what had happened between him and Cat.
"If Riley falls in love with you again, what are you going to do? Because he seemed very keen on the glimpses of the memories he's been seeing, I think he wants that feeling back." Cat's eyes widened ever so slightly, they knew Riley had loved her, she could almsot feel the brush of his skin against hers. Cat turned a pinky colour and looked away down at the dog resting on the covers. What was she suposed to say, how did you answer to that.
'I ...I don't know what your talking about.' She said not looking at Angela, feeling as if she just wanted to dive around her and run out of the door.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night"Alright, you want proof? This is Riley one-o-one, we're going to walk into his room together, he's going to look straight at you, then he might or might not glance at me, and if he does it'll be very quick before he focuses on you again." She stopped leaning against the door now, her eyes focusing solely on Cat's, evenif the girl wasn't looking at her. They where both going to be a stubborn pair to get together, if both denied they felt anything for each other, how on earth does that work!?
"But I think you know he likes you.. I think you like him, and I think he remembers kissing you, I think it's you he smells on his clothes, because there's no other girl he's been in contact with other then that Joan girl who kidnapped him.. uh.. as far as I know." The mutant added quickly in case he had contact with another girl, after all, there was a high possibilty she was totally off the mark. But Dawn was normally very good with these things, and Angela wasn't that bad either, not as good as Dawn, but it was obvious there was something wrong between her ad Riley.
"Cat.. if you're not interested in Riley, then Dawn doesn't have the right to get you to 'Riley-Sit' the guy, because if Riley gets to know you, if Riley holds you, if he sits with you, if he's around you, he will fall in love with you. I know this, because that's who Riley is, he fell in love once, he's going to do it again Cat, and if you're not interested it's not fair to do that to him." Her hand grabbed the doorknob as if she was about to walk out, but she kept her eyes glued on Catherine. It was so confusing, she wasn't sure what Cat wanted, it was so hard to tell, did she like Riley, it seems so because she's blushing so brightly, and she did want to know what he was remembering..
"He doesn't fall in love with what he sees Catherine, he falls in love with who he meets, and if he gets to know you again, that's exactly what will happen.. he'll fall in love." Opening the door, putting her hand up when Troy leapt off the bed and bounded eagerly towards the door, the dog instantly sliding to a stop and sitting down. Taking a step out of her room, keeping her door open for Cat to leave the confined area Angela had locked her up into. Once Cat had left the room, Angela kept very quiet, closing the door behind her and walking down along the halls towards Riley's room. Obviously Angela wasn't going to bring it up any further, it was just something she had to get off her chest and now she had she was alriight and they can get on with their day.
Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night"Alright, you want proof? This is Riley one-o-one, we're going to walk into his room together, he's going to look straight at you, then he might or might not glance at me, and if he does it'll be very quick before he focuses on you again." It was beginning to become a habit, to mess with the hole in her top rather than look at people. She didn't want to look up at Angie, she might be able to see things written in her eyes that were only meant for Riley.
"But I think you know he likes you.. I think you like him, and I think he remembers kissing you, I think it's you he smells on his clothes, because there's no other girl he's been in contact with other then that Joan girl who kidnapped him.. uh.. as far as I know." Cat still wasn't looking at her, her dark eyes were now trained upon her cat boots. Cat could smell him when she had her black combats on, even her skin had smelt of him, a lovley, comfey Riley smell.
"if Riley gets to know you, if Riley holds you, if he sits with you, if he's around you, he will fall in love with you. I know this, because that's who Riley is, he fell in love once, he's going to do it again Cat, and if you're not interested it's not fair to do that to him." Angela sounded quite sure and Cat's eyes lifted off the floor to look at her face, something a kin to hope in them did Anglea really mean that .... she knew Riley better than Cat did, was that true, was it right, would he fall in love with her again .... even if he didn't remember her?
"He doesn't fall in love with what he sees Catherine, he falls in love with who he meets, and if he gets to know you again, that's exactly what will happen.. he'll fall in love." Cat was going to make sure he got to know her very well, he could get to know any part of her he wanted. She almost bounded out of the door after Angela.
'You.. you mean that? you really think that Angela? that he might like me again?' She was gripping onto the pen again rather hard, looking over at Angela, this time meeting her eyes. Suddenly she faltered slightly, stopping walking and turning to face Angela more.
'You wont tell anyone will you Angela?' She hadn't actually said she liked Riley but that was what she was refering to. He might like her again, she wanted to run off up the corridor now dragging Angela behind her, she wanted to go talk to Riley. She didn't care if he was annoyed or upset with her anymore, she'd persuade him to forgive her and they'd go to the dying star again.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night'You.. you mean that? you really think that Angela? that he might like me again?' It had been nice to see her suddenly fill with life, it's like she had hope given back to her after she was so sure she had lost it. Cat's steps slowed right down to a stop, causing Angela to pause and look towards her.
'You wont tell anyone will you Angela?' With a small nod.. even if Dawn already suspected it, Angela smiled, if they where going to go out then it wouldn't be much of a secret later, she'll make sure to tell the others to play dumb until then so Cat's not upset.
"If I didn't think it, I wouldn't say it!" She laughed slightly, the statement was very true, since she often thought things out loud, which sometimes goth er in trouble if it was about disliking someone.. or something.. mainly someone called Max.
"Now we better hurry, we won't ask him right away, we'll make sure he get's comfortable first in case he's still upset, but Riley doesn't stay upset for long. Actually I've never seen him lose his temper before and he's suffered more abuse from Max then getting yelled at, so I'm not sure what's with that, I guess this is all just taking its toll on him right now." Angela picked up her pace, at the same time making sure not to run ahead of Catherine, she seemed eager to get to Riley's room, but there was the faintest limp in her stride.
Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night"If I didn't think it, I wouldn't say it!" Cat smiled again, she wished her hip didn't hurt so much she could have walked faster then. They turned a corner and went down a short flight of stairs onto the boys floor. Cat was rather suprised to see Dave's name displayed on a door, he must have decided to stay at Xaviers after all. She smiled slightly at the thought but then frowned again, she owed him an apology but he'd have to wait since she was going to talk to Riley first.
"Now we better hurry, we won't ask him right away, we'll make sure he get's comfortable first in case he's still upset, but Riley doesn't stay upset for long. Cat nodded in agreement, it was quite a relife to have told someone, to be able to talk to someone, not that she'd actually told Angela, she'd just guessed. She hoped Dawn and the others didn't know, she'd wanted Riley to be the first to know she liked him and plus it was embaressing the others knowing.
They slowed down as they reached his door, Cat hanging back slightly, her mind feverishly trying to think of something to say to him, she wasn't very good at apologising to people. She let Angela knock on his door and call out for him to reply while she half hid half hovered behind Angela's shoulder eyeing his door, blusing slightly and waiting impatiently for him to answer the summons.

Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
At the tapping on the door, Riley's eyes snapped open, he was still exhausted and now he was groggy from the sleep, he had rolled onto his stomach, the shirt he had resting on the other pillow next to him. Pushing himself up onto his knees, one hand resting over his forehead as he slowly moved to slip off his bed. He felt sick, since he wasn't eating well, he was half starved but it wasn't lunch time yet so he wouldn't even think of getting something to eat.
"..Coming." His voice was very soft and lacking emotion, his mind still clouded with the foggy feeling of just waking up. Riley's eyes hurt, it was too bright, or so it seemed for him right now, his eyes dropped down to the floor as he approached the door. Bending down, only just noticed the trail of papers along his floor, Riley picked up the letter and and then reached for the door and opened it, completely lacking the thought he was still half undressed. His left hand held the letter, his right still holding the door, the back of his left hand rose to rub away the sleepiness from his eyes before it moved away so he could see - much to his surprise -Catherine standing outside his door. Letting the hand that held the letter rest against the door frame as he frowned slightly in puzzlement, he then glanced at the girl that was standing in front of Catherine as if seeing her for the first time.
"Hey Riley, sorry if we woke you, can we come in?" His lips parted but no sounds managed to come out before Angela ducked under his arm and into his room. Staring at Catherine for a moment, still uncomfortable with this since she seemed to always snap at him.. or want to leave his presence.. when ever they are together. She didn't look mad at him, which was good, but she hadn't been mad at him the other times either, he didn't want her to be mad at her because he was scared of her not wanting to do anything with him again. He didn't want to stay here if she wasn't going to talk with him, he stepped aside so she could enter, closing the door.
"Wow.. Riley this is the messiest your room has ever been." Angela stared downa t his discarded clothes and the few sheets of paper that scattered his floor, Riley had alrady dived intot he papers before Angela spoke, he was obviously upset at the state of his room and it amused Angela to see him fussing over the papers.
"We just came to see if you're alright." After he had picked up his scattered papers, Riley moved over towards his desk, glancing back at Angela as she spoke and then allowing his eyes to linger on Catherine before focusing down on his desk.
"I'm just a bit tired." A 'bit' tired was an understatement, he was comepltely drained of energy, grabbing the laptop from his bed where it had rested since he had fallen asleep last night, he placed it also on the desk and then climbed back onto his bed. He didn't assume they'd be staying long, Cather had vertially told him to get lost before, hadn't she? He was only worried over her and she told him to let go of her, he hadn't even been holding onto her in a hostile way, he didn't think he had anyway.. maybe when he had his hands on her shoulders he had hurt her? Sitting up straight, crossing his legs and resting his hands on his lap as he fiddled with the envolope he had found.
"I'm sorry Catherine, I didn't mean to.." He trailed off, since he still wasn't sure what it was he had done wrong back there, but it was something and he didn't want to upset her more by telling her he didn't have a clue why she had gotten so mad at him. His fingers neatly began to open the letter as Angela talked with him, he was tired he really wished they'd just let him sleep for a week.. At least then he couldn't upset Catherine, he didn't like seeing her upset and he got even more upset when she seemed angry at him.
"We where just worried, you stormed off in a hurry, it's not like you." Angela took a seat on the end of his bed, which signalled they where staying for a bit, Riley shrugged at her statement.
"I wouldn't know what I'm like." Obviously he was still very upset, even if he was acting calm and at ease, he also wasn't comfortable with this girl he barely knew sitting so close to him. Angela just gave a small smile and watched him open his letter and pull out a small photo, she knew that was Riley's, the one he had often take from his jacket to look at. He stared at the photo rather blankly, not able to register the faces as being his parents, his head tilted slightly to the side, he looked back up at Catherine as he gave up on trying to figure out who they where.
"Would you like to sit down?" Shifting over slightly to the other side of his bed so she could sit down since Angela had made herself comfortable. He still wasn't sure why they where hear, maybe he had upset them, or maybe they found out sometihng about his fiance.. He wouldn't mind getting some more sleep, but at the same time, he didn't want to tell them to leave, he didn't want to be alone if he could have company.
Riley (about Catherine): ...I have the feeling she's trying to tell me something..
every single time she looks at me.. she's trying to speak to me.. and I can't hear her.
Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
Cat waited with a kind of nervous impatience as Angela knocked, almost hopping from one foot to the other as she heard Riley move around inside his room, she wanted to see him again, now! not when he opened the door but right now. Her hands lifting to mess with the dog tags around her neck, they lay underneath her t-shirt so they couldn't be seen but they clanked gently as she rubbed her fingers across them through the thin material.
"..Coming." She moved a little closer to Angela as though she might just shove her though the door the moment Riley opened it. She was sure she herself wasn't going to ask Riley to come tonight she hoped he'd say yes, if he wasn't going to go then she didn't want to.
"Hey Riley, sorry if we woke you, can we come in?" She stuffed her hands in her pockets as the door opened, Angela was right he did look at her but there was a frown on his face. He was still mad at her, it managed to take the edge of her happiness, the smile she had on her face wavered. Her eyes moved to his hand, he was holding onto a sheet of paper ... no it was the envelope she'd slipped under his door, it didnt look like he'd opened it yet.
He stepped aside and she slipped in the room past him, she wasn't sure she wanted to come in anymore after that frown. She heard him close the door after her, she stood rather awkardly in the room, looking about her at all the Riley objects in the room. Even Riley seemed to have hundreds more posessions than she did. She watched him gather up some scattered papers putting them on the desk thn turned away slightly to look out of the window.
"I'm sorry Catherine, I didn't mean to.." She looked over at him rather sharply, he was sitting on his bed now and Angela seemed to have made herself comfortable on the foot of the bed, it looked like they would be staying some time. She maganged a small smile, taking her hands out of her pockets and folding them instead.
"We where just worried, you stormed off in a hurry, it's not like you."
"I wouldn't know what I'm like." He still sounded upset and Cat didn't dare look abck at him as if he might snap at her if she did such a thing.
"Would you like to sit down?" She hesitated for a second, looking back at the door before she moved towards the bed, sitting down rather nervously on the edge of it. It wasn't fair, she should have been lying here with Riley, he was supposed to have his arms around her, that was how it was supposed to be.
'Umm errr Riley' There was a bit of a pause from Catherine before she continued. 'I.. that it ... that I'm sorry for being nasty earlier.'

Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
At her apology, Riley wondered if she was actually mad at him or was just upset in general and she didn't mean to yell at him.. He hoped she didn't mean to yell at him, he didn't like how she told him to let go of her as if he was forcing her to stay with him. Was that how she felt around him, as if he was a burden that she was forced to carry, he stared at the photo with the two strange unfamiliar faces as he dwelled on such thoughts.
"It's alright.. everyone hurts sometimes.." There was the tiniest of shrug as he leand back against the wall behind him, if anyone had a right to ne upset with him it would be Catherine.. she had done so much for him and it had gotten her into so much trouble. Riley glanced up at her, he tried to smile but it was more of a pained tug in the corner of his lips, but a more worried look appared once the failed attempt of smiling had faded.
"If you don't talk about what's bothering you, that's how your pain releases itself, you shouldn't keep it locked up inside like you do." Staring back down at his photo, his fingers starting to play with the dog tags that hang around his neck, eventually he decided the photo wasn't going to suddenly make sense to him, he placed it down beside him. Grabbing up one of his spare pillows, and pulling it against his stomach as he glanced over towards Angela, his arms wrapping around it as he pulled his knees up partially towards his chest.
"Lisa said she had blonde hair.. I don't remember her with blonde hair." His voice was very low, what if he wasn't remember the girl he was going to marry, what if she was someone else.. maybe an earlier girlfirend, or she had her hair colour altered? Angela blinked before realizing what he was talking about, she tilted her head slightly as Riley's face hid into the pillow he was holding.
"Oh, yeah.. uh.. Riley.." Now was a good time as any to tell Riley that he's not getting married, the singer glanced awkwardly towards Catherine. It was hard to tell someone that they've been told something that was a mistake, and Riley was upset enough as it was, how would he take it?
"Joan.. she's uh.. she's not your fiance, she lied to Lisa.. apparently she's the one who took you away from the school against your will." Riley's frown was hidden away against the pillow, but slowly as he looked up, trying his best not to look as confused as he felt. But he saw her, he saw someone.. Riley's eyes stared over towards Catherine, what if he left that person back at the base? His fingers continued to fiddle with his tags, his eyes dropping the engraved names on the metal tags, registeration numbers placed underneath them. Catherine Hall.. and Riley Finn...
"I'm sorry Riley, but umm.. we actually wanted to ask a favor of you.." Looking up at the younger mutant, Riley stared at her, waiting for her to continue on what she was saying, what kind of favor did these two want? He looked back over towards Catherine for a moment, but turned his attention back to Angela when she began to speak.
"Remember how we where talking about my thing tonight? Everyone is coupling up and going to thed ying star to listen to me.." Riley nodded slowly, looked off towards his desk now, he didn't really look forward to them all leaving him for the night, he didn't want to be alone, but he wouldn't ask any of them to give up their night to spend it with him.
"Well Cat's keen on going with a certain someone, only he's very grouchy right now and I'm here to ask you if-" Riley stared at her, what did she mean Cat wanted to go with someone, who? That boy who had grabbed her, why was Angela telling him this, that boy didn't deserve Catherine, she was so much better then that guy wh had gotten her upset.
"What?" Riley interupted Angela half way through her sentance, pulling the pillow away from him and sitting up more straighter, what could he possibly do? What did they expect him to do, he wasn't going to go ask that guy to go out with her, Riley would rather see her with someone who would treat her better.
"You want me to tell him to go out with her? She can do much better then that guy." He retorted unhappily, she hasn't been through enough that she throws herself into a relationship with some guy who goes around grabbing hold of her arm whenever she passes.
"Actually, that guy's Dave, her cousin, I wanted to ask if you'd ask Cat out to the dance, Mr Grouchy one, she doesn't have a date." It was obvious that had taken him by surprise because he just stared at Angela, but then after it sank in the faintest of colour could be seen hitting his cheeks as he avoided looking at either of them and focused on his stomach. He'd been all upset and they where here to ask him to go out with them, now he felt bad, he wasn't even dressed up properly..
"Uh.. umm.. I uh.." He wanted to say no, he didn't want to go out.. but at the same time he was dying to say yes, he wanted to go out.. he wanted to get out of this school. He wanted to say something, anything, but he had gone completely blank, Angela juist came out without any warning and he hadn't expected it at all.. why would Catherine want to spend the night with him?
"Can I think about it?" He asked quickly, Angela stood up with a smile and a nod, turning around and moving towards the door. What was he saying? Of course he wanted to go, he wanted to go with Catherine because she wanted to go with him, after what she's done for him isn't a dance the least he could do to repay her? What would he rather do, stay here alone or spend the night out with Catherine as if he was just a normal guy? He slid off his bed and, hurry to his door and blocking off Cat's exit, not wanting her to leave just yet, after cutting her off, he seemed to just stand there in front of her, staring down at her rather awkwardly for a moment.
"Uh.. would.. would you um.. want.. me to company you tonight?" He didn't seem to think it'd be something she'd really want to do, wouldn't she preferre someone who at least remembers her? But if he could pay her bakc for all the kindness she's done for him then he'd be all to eager to do that for her. Angela had already left the room, so she was hovering outside in the hall with her back to the room, she a grin on her face, she knew how to work Riley... but then again, she did feel bad about getting him slightly worked up before.
Riley (about Catherine): ...I have the feeling she's trying to tell me something..
every single time she looks at me.. she's trying to speak to me.. and I can't hear her.
Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night"It's alright.. everyone hurts sometimes.." Sometimes? It felt like the pain would never stop, just as things seemed to be looking up for her something else would happen, like she'd found Riley and then he'd been taken away from him, but he was still here, it was like being tortured.
"If you don't talk about what's bothering you, that's how your pain releases itself, you shouldn't keep it locked up inside like you do." She couldn't tell him, she couldn't tell anyone, alright Anglea knew she liked Riley ... liked him! She didn't know anything that had happened back at the initiative and she didn't know how much Cat loved him, she didn't know half of it. She watched him looking at the photo, realising she should have included who they were on the photo, she couldn't exactly comment on it now, she'd have to write him a note.
'There's nothing wrong with me.' She said turning her head away and looking out of the window, nothing she could tell him. She could let him know a hundred times what had passed in the initiative base but it wouldn't mean anything unlees he remembered for himself.
"Lisa said she had blonde hair.. I don't remember her with blonde hair." He was talking about her again wasn't he, she frowned slightly and looked away, trying not to look upset, he was wearing her dog tags and that, meant he belonged to her. She lifted a hand to her still brusied cheek, maybe she didn't want to go tonight, not with her cheek like this and not limping, but then she wanted to spend some time with Riley.
"Joan.. she's uh.. she's not your fiance, she lied to Lisa.. apparently she's the one who took you away from the school against your will." Catherine looked over sharply to see his response, would he be upset by the news, she couldn't help her own heart bounding about in her chest at the thought. He looked confused, but Cat just looked away wishing all this could have been avoided, wishing somehow that she was still the one he wanted next to him.
"Well Cat's keen on going with a certain someone, only he's very grouchy right now and I'm here to ask you if-" Cat stared at her, what was she doing? She was supposed to be asking Riley to come to watch him for the evening, not to go out on a date with her!!
'Angela.' She said but the girl seemed to ignore her, ploughing on as if Cat wasn't in the room. Cat had her hands clutched in her lap now not looking at Angela. How could she do this .... Cat had made her promise not to say anything.
"You want me to tell him to go out with her? She can do much better then that guy." She could feel blood being pumped rather rapidly to her head, that was Dave ... did he think she liked Dave, he was her cousin, but he didn't know did he.
"Actually, that guy's Dave, her cousin, I wanted to ask if you'd ask Cat out to the dance, Mr Grouchy one, she doesn't have a date." Cat stared rather hard at Anglea, she couldn't belive she just did that, she could feel her cheeks and the tips of her ears burning, Angela had agreed not to say anything. Cat couldn't even trust her, she suddenly felt very alone even though she was sitting in a room with two people.
"Can I think about it?" There was just a blank numbness where her feelings should have been, if he'd have felt anything he'd have jumped at the chance to go with her wouldn't he ... how could Angela do this to her. She didn't look over at him, keeping her eyes trained to the floor. She got to her feet quickly still managing not to look at him, moving towards the door as fast as she could without her limp being too obvious.
"Uh.. would.. would you um.. want.. me to company you tonight?" She tried to move around him but he moved to block her path, she felt like her mouth had seized up, she could feel tears pricking the backs of her eyes, how could Angela do this to her?
'I'm not sure I'm going.' She said her head bent so he couldn't see her face. 'I was going to go but my hip hurts.' That was like the lamest excuse in the world, it didn't stop her going and sitting there. But she just didn't feel like going out anymore, she just wanted to find a rock to crawl under, she just felt like Angela had betrayed her trust, they weren't meant to be going on a date!! She didn't want to date Riley when she looked like she did now, she subconciously lifted a hand to he cheek.

Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
At Catherine's response Angela just moved off down the hall, it was pointless, she'd rather spend her free time practicing her songs then trying to figure out what Cat wanted. A very disappointed look crossed Riley's face as he dropped his eyes away from her, but his form still lingered in her way.
"I.. I didn't think you'd want.. I just thought that maybe.. if I tagged along with you and your friends I wouldn't be left alone, but.. if you don't want me there, you can go, I'll stay here." That's how it always was wasn't it? No one wanted him around, the people he worked for didn't even want him alive, and the people he was friends with wouldn't want to stay around him if they knew he was a spy.. His eyes moved over to her bruised cheek, with a slight sigh he shut the door and guided her back towards his bed so she'd sit down.
"You haven't gotten any treatments for your hip or bruise have you?" He was already moving towards his draws, opening on and pulling out both a shirt and a box that seemed to have been hidden underneath some of his other tops. He couldn't really blame her, even if he cut his hand badly he'd not be keen on going to see that feline doctor.. Moving back towards her, knelling down in front of her and placing down the med-kit on the ground between his knees as he slipped a gray shirt over his head, tugging it down around his waist before picking up the kit again and opening it.
"Let's see what I keep in here.." Mumbling to himself as he glanced through some of the things, various creams, a few needles (which caused his heart to race as he tried to avoid looking at them), some bandages and a few painkillers. Placing down the med-kit, he pulled out the long white bandages and then two of the creams, he held them in his hands for Cat to see.
"Would you mind.. if I bind your hip? This cream will help clear the damaged area of the bruise, but it might take between two or three hours, maybe four if the bruise is really bad.. And uh.. this one says it'll help with a strained muscle, binding it will help... you did a lot for me yesterday, you deserve a night with your friends." He wasn't calling them his friends any more, because they weren't, he didn't know them, he only knew Catherine, he only wanted to know Catherine, because she was the only one who knew the real him. And maybe he didn't want to get to know these people yet, why should he, what if this Xavier guy decides to kick Riley out of his school. Riley didn't like that idea.. even if he wasn't friends if them he was still friends with Cat.. he thought she wasn't upset with him but she didn't sound as if she wanted to go to that dance with him there, why would she want to get away from babysitting him at the school just to baby-sit him at a club?

"I.. I didn't think you'd want.. I just thought that maybe.. if I tagged along with you and your friends I wouldn't be left alone, but.. if you don't want me there, you can go, I'll stay here." She blushed a darker shade of red and didn't answer her eyes looking determindly at the floor, she glanced up as he closed the door, shutting her in with him. The room suddenly seemed very small and enclosed and Riley seemed to fill rather a lot of it at the moment, he was standing very close to her. Her mind was telling her to just say yes but the power of speech seemed to be evading her at that particular moment.
"You haven't gotten any treatments for your hip or bruise have you?" It wasn't like she needed anything! Her hip would heal in a few days and the brusie would go down, she wasn't too keen on going bakc to the medical bay, huge furry cats beside. What ever Dr Mcoy did might involve needles and she'd rather suffer a few days of discomfort rather than be injected with something, especailly after what Joan had done to her.
She watched him open one of his draws, pulling out a box, she wondered what sort of person had their own medical stash, she reminded herself it was the kind of man she loved. She backed away slightly when she caught sight of the needles but he pulled out bandages and a couple of salves so she let herself relax again.
"Would you mind.. if I bind your hip? This cream will help clear the damaged area of the bruise, but it might take between two or three hours, maybe four if the bruise is really bad.. And uh.. this one says it'll help with a strained muscle, binding it will help... you did a lot for me yesterday, you deserve a night with your friends." Cat shrugged, looking down at the balms.
'If you want.' She suddenly wanted to ask him if he still wanted to come with her but yet again the words seemd to invade. Her body seemed to have suddenly come alive at the thought of his hands on her, she blushed rather nervously and moved a little closer to him

Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
Unscrewing the lid of a dark blue cream tupper, his fingers dipping lightly into the white cream before inching closer to Catherine and reaching for her face. Positive that her face was hurting her, he tried very hard to be as light and gentle as possible while he began stroking the cream over her damaged darken skin.
"I'm sorry if it hurts." The core of his chest felt as if something was gently squeezing it, trying to focus on the movements of his fingers, his eyes sometimes drifted off to meet her own, offering a smile before quickly staring at her bruise again. It felt strange, being so close to someone, especially someone like Catherine, someone who was so brave and stronge, that did all those things for him the other day. His hand pulled away for a moment, before his fingers returned to stroke over her darkened skin once more to wipe away any residue of cream. His eyes dropped down to her lips, the lips that he had been watching the night before from the other side of the couch. Quickly both his eyes and his hand moved down to grab up the other cream, once again rmoving the lid and placing his fingers into the slightly yellow coloured cream.
It was hard to understand why he was suddenly very nervous, the tips of his fingers have the faintest of troubles in them as his other hand exposed her belly by listing up the blue shirt slightly. His fingers softly rested against her skin, hesitating for a moment before he blinked and forced them to massage the cream across her hips. Slowly his fingers pulled away, his eyes refusing to glance up towards Catherine, soon both hands curled up her shirt a bit so he could begin to wrap the bandage around her hip.
In the back of his mind he kept seeing still images of things, like photo's of his mind, it was hard to mke them out all the time, but he knew that most of them where of him bandaging someone's wrists over a sink.. He shifted about on his knees as he wrapped the bandage around her slowly yet trying to make it firm without being uncomfortably tight. Tilting his head slightly upwards to look at her as he wrap the bandage around her, he pulled his eyes away and simple stared at his hands as they neatly bound her hips with skill he wasn't even aware he possessed.
"How um.. how does that feel?" He had leaned forward, his arms looping around her waist so he could reach around her back and clip the bandage into place with a special clip that help the end of the bandage in place. He pulled away slightly, his fingers lightly dropping down the folded up shirt around her waist as he waited for what she thought of the binding, if she wasn't comfortable he'd have to redo it..
Riley (about Catherine): ...I have the feeling she's trying to tell me something..
every single time she looks at me.. she's trying to speak to me.. and I can't hear her.
Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night"I'm sorry if it hurts." Hurt her? He wasn't hurting her, she could feel his fingers lightly stroking over her skin, brushing across her cheek. He could have been hitting her right at the moment she didn't think she would have cared, so so long as he was touching her.
'Riley ... I.' She began nervously, looking up at him as he tended to the brusie on her face. 'I ummm,' She blushed slightly as his hands moved away from her to pick up the other balm. 'Never mind.' She wasn't sure what she'd been about to say, maybe that she liked him?
She watched him kneel down infront of her, lifting up her t-shirt slightly, she blushed slightly as the warmth of his hands brushed against her stomach. Her stomach flintched slightly at the conact, her eyes staring down at him as he massaged cream into her hips, her skin tingling at the contact. She was breathing rather faster than usual, her mouth partly open, how was she supposed to dance with him tonight, when just his hands brushing against her could make her feel like this.
"How um.. how does that feel?" She blushed as his arms looped around her waist fastening the bandages around her hips.
'Perfect, fine.' She said breathlessly, glancing down at him, her dark eyes trying to conceel something that seemed to shimmer in their depths. His fingers brushed against her skin one last time as he pulled her shirt down, leaving her with the shy memory of his hands on her skin.
'Umm so are you coming tonight.' She wasn't sure what she'd just said, he was looking at her as though he might actually be able to look right through her to her heart. She blushed and looked away but not making any movement to pull away from him, if anything her body leaned in a little closer to him.

Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
It seemed as if she wanted to ask him something, but she kept hesitating and he wasn't sure if he should insist for her to continue. But once he was done, slowly standing up and offering her a small smile, he wasn't sure what to do, for some reason he just stood there as if waiting for something.
'Umm so are you coming tonight.' Maybe that's what he had been waiting for, maybe that's what he wanted, maybe he did want to go out to that club with them, maybe he wanted to have some time with Catherine that didn't involve nearly getting blown up. She had looked away from him, and part of him wanted to grin and say of course, another tiny part was worried she was only offering because he had helped her..
"..Do... do you want me there.. with you?" Now he wished he just said yes, it hadn't came out how he intended it to sound, but there was a difference wasn't there? A difference between her wanting him there and her wanting him there to be with her.. He wasn't sure he liked the idea of watching her with others, especially if they where like her cousin, he didn't want to be there on his own.

Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night"..Do... do you want me there.. with you?" She watched as he looked down at her, her own eyes staring up at him, her head stlightly tilted so she could see him better, she wanted to stay with him now, she wanted him to just pick her up and lay her on his bed and then to wrap his arms about her till she fell asleep then when she woke everything would be alright.
'Yea .... that is if you want to come. It's just Dawn, she said it might cheer you up to go out and then she said you might be lonley since everyone else was going in pairs and then she said would I come along so you'd have someone to talk to.' That was a lot of Dawns says but Cat was very nervous at the moment and it had the effect of her not quite knowing what she was saying half the time. It now sounded more like Cat was going to tag along as someone to talk to rather than more of a date as Angela had made it sound like.
'But I know you've got loads of work to do so if you don't want to come it doesn't matter cause I didn't want to go that much.' Maybe she should just shut up now before she put her foot in it more than she already had been doing.

Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
It really didn't sound as if she was at all keen on going.. there was another slight look of disappointment which he tried to hide as best he could but was sure he had failed miserably. He didn't want her to go there if she didn't want to go, that wouldn't be nice, forcing her to go out just because 'Dawn' wanted him to have company.
"If you don't want to go.." The words had to be forced out of his lips, even his tone sounded disappointed, he wasn't really sure why, but he was, even if it was only for a few moments, rather keen on taking her out to pay her back for what she had been through yesterday.
"But if you decide that you.. you might, maybe, want to go.. I'd still like to escort you down there, um.. only if you want me to, if you get someone else.. you uh.. you have fun." He didn't liked the idea of being replaced with someone else, but if she didn't want to go with him then he didn't want her to think that he'd be upset if she went with someone else. But why would he be upset? At least she'd be off having fun, anyway, it was none of his business who she went to a dance with, she deserved an outing with whoever she wanted to go with. Maybe if she didn't go he could ask her to stay with him and they just have something to eat together, or did she just want to be on her own? If she didn't want to go out with him why would she want to stay in with him?
But he really did want to be able to spend some time with her, he didn't care where that time was spent, as long as it was in her presence. He'd love to get to know this girl who had risked so much for him, he was sure they could be wonderful friends, he just really didn't want to cross the line and annoy her by hovering around her when she wanted to be on her own. But as long as he was able to risk the chance of getting to know her a little better, then that's something he wanted to. What if she did want to go out, she wouldn't have sat so quietly while Angela said she wanted him to spend the night with her since everyone else had dates. He understood this wasn't a date, but that didn't matter, he didn't want to make her uncomfortable, but if she wanted to go out then he wanted her to know he was very glade to take her if she wanted him to.
"I'll be you're 'beau' for hire.. you decide you want to go and you need an escort, I'm your man." With a smile, his hand moved towards her cheek again, his thumb lightly stroking over the darkened skin as his eyes stared at the bruise, almost as if he was wiping away some cream he had missed, even though there was none. As his hand pulled away and dropped back down to his side, his eyes also dropping downwards. Slowly his hands reached for the thin silver necklace around his neck, pulling his tags out from under his shirt and fiddling with them for a moment before speaking.
"I.. I have something of yours.. it.. it gives a great deal of comfort for me to have it.. um.. I was wondering.. if... if you'd be terribly upset if I may keep it." For all he knew he could have it without her permission, or she gave it to him for some reason, but what if she didn't want him walking around the school with her name on a tag around his neck? He really wanted to keep it, he could promise to keep it under his shirt, or maybe if she was really not keen about it maybe he could ask if she minded about him keeping it in his draw.. even though he preferred it around his neck so he had it with him always.
Riley(about Catherine): Every time I look at her, it's like there's no one else in the room but us..
Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night"If you don't want to go.." He sounded ... dissapointed? Or was she just hoping he sounded disspointed, "But if you decide that you.. you might, maybe, want to go.. I'd still like to escort you down there, um.. only if you want me to, if you get someone else.. you uh.. you have fun." Someone else? Why would she want to go with anyone but him? She did want to go with him, there was nothing she wanted more but she didn't want him to feel like he had to come if he didn't want to. She stuck her hands nervously in her pockets again, dropping her eyes away from him for a moment.
'It's errr just that this place, has a dress code and I don't have anything to wear ... Ummm Angela was going to let me borrow something I think though.' She wasn't exactly comfortable with the idea of wearing a dress or even a skirt but she had the idea that Lisa might want her to wear a skirt and Lisa usually got what she wanted ... even if she had to staple a dress onto Cat for the evening.
"I'll be you're 'beau' for hire.. you decide you want to go and you need an escort, I'm your man." She looked over at him and tilted her head onto one side, she watched him lift a hand to her cheek, her damaged skin tingling at the contact a shy smile upon her lips.
'Errrr whats a Beau?' She said tasting the new word on her lips, she'd never heard of one before. Maybe she shouldn't have asked, he might think she was stupid, should she know what one was. But then she hadn't known what courting was untill he'd told her and he hadn't laughed then.
"I.. I have something of yours.. it.. it gives a great deal of comfort for me to have it.. um.. I was wondering.. if... if you'd be terribly upset if I may keep it." Cat looked at the dog tags in his hands, suddenly embaressed, remembering him slipping the tags around her own neck.
'Oh yeah.. sure of course.' She had one of his afterall didn't she, she was suprised he hadn't questionned where his other tag was or had he already guessed.?

Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
Sticking her hands nervously into her pockets, Catherine's eyes had dropped away while he was talking, then she had mentioned needing a dress, the girl didn't seem keen on it. He suddenly wondered if he had anything nice to wear, but decided to worry about that later. Smiling slightly at the discomfort she showed to wearing a dress, Riley felt liking 'I'm sure you'll look nice in anything you wear' but he bit his bottom lip. It didn't sound like something a friend would say, did it?
'Errrr whats a Beau?' He felt like an idiot now, he wasn't even sure why he had used that word, it just sort of jumped out while he was thinking. With a nervous little smile as his thumbs slipped into the pockets of his dark jeans and letting his tags drop down against his chest, his eyes peering downwards yet also trying hard to avoid staring at her feet.
'Oh yeah.. sure of course.' The grin widened at her permission for him to keep her nametag, if he had actually sat down and thought about things, he might have been curious as to why he was wearing her tag. But then again, if it was important, she would have mentioned something, he would have been told of the importance and not left in the dark about it.. at least he assumed that. Besides, that Graham guy had told Riley they where partners, maybe she gave her tag to him so people would know they where partnered up?
A kind of shyness swept over him as he looked up, realizing he still had to explain what Beau meant, of all words, why had he used that? He didn't need to, 'escort' was good enough, but.. it just slipped out really, he hadn't thought much about it at all, it just.. came out.
"It means a.. uh.. a male escort.." Yep.. that's one of its meanings, he blushed very lightly as he stared at the window on the far wall behind her. A soft kind of laugh escaping him that sounded very nervous as he stared down at his feet that where still in only clean white socks.
"..It also uh.. um.. also means like a.. well the exact meanings would be.. a man who escorts, or pays attention to, a lady." As in, an escort, or a lover, but he neglected stressing the point, besides, how many people where told to read the English dictionary from cover to cover like his class in the Initiative? Even if he didn't remember doing it, a few of the words stuck with him, although then he would have never thought he'd be using that word when referring to himself.
"Are you uh.. are you busy now.. or could you stay for a bit.. and.. and talk? Oh.. uh.. are you hungry? Do you like hamburgers and chips? I can cook you something since we probably won't have the chance to eat much later.. and if we do I think that Lisa girl might take away half your food." He added with a grin as he remembered how she had snatched up Cat's last pizza when they where having dinner, he didn't understand why girls where always so fussy with what they ate, they did enough exercise here without the need to starve themselves. He wanted to cook up something special only he wasn't sure what she liked, but he didn't want any thing from a packet, he'd cook it all by hand, even the chips he'd bake by cutting up potatos if she wanted to accept his offer.
Riley(about Catherine): Every time I look at her, it's like there's no one else in the room but us..
Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night"..It also uh.. um.. also means like a.. well the exact meanings would be.. a man who escorts, or pays attention to, a lady." Attention? what type of attention? Did he mean just by talking to them or as in courting them, going out with them. She wanted to ask him so much but the words didn't want to seem to form in her mouth so she just stood there and looked down at the tips of her cat boots.
"Are you uh.. are you busy now.. or could you stay for a bit.. and.. and talk? Oh.. uh.. are you hungry? Do you like hamburgers and chips? I can cook you something since we probably won't have the chance to eat much later.. and if we do I think that Lisa girl might take away half your food." She had lessons soon but that hardly mattered to her, she'd spent most of her life skipping lessons, missing a few more couldn't hurt. She knew she should really attend them but then at the same time didn't she have a duty to look after Riley and it was obvious he was still really upset over loosing his memory. There was also the fact that she didn't want to go to lessons, they were boring, she'd much rather spend her time with Riley rather than sit and listen to teachers drone on for ages about one thing or another.
She smiled nervously and glanced up at him, thinking of Lisa last night.
'Errr yeah sure, if you don't mind that is?' Her fingers were playing with the hold in her top which was becoming something of a habit to her. Her whole body suddenly felt as if she'd been hungry for weeks, but as it was since she'd been captured by the initiative she'd only had a couple of proper meals and now her body was protesting at the fact and the idea of eating real food was more than a little attractive to her.

Re: Angela's Room - Getting Ready for the Big Night
If it had bothered him he wouldn't have asked, glancing down at his feet, Riley quickly moved over to his sneakers that sat beside his discarded clothing next to his bed. Slipping his feet into them, then sitting down on his bed and undoing the laces, then doing them up again to make them more tidy and give a more firm hold on his feet. While he was bending down, he scooped up his shirt and jumper, folding his shirt and leaving it on his bed as he stood and slipped his jumper over his head, tugging it down around his waist and then fiddling with his sleeves. He knew no one could see the niddle marks with his jumper on (being a warm day it was the only reason he was wearing the thin top), but Riley knew they where still there, and he didn't like it.. he wanted them to go away.
Taking in a deep breath as he moved towards the door, once again hesitating before leaving his room, he frowned and looked back like he had done earlier this morning. It was very upsetting, he was meant to do something, something he always did, but he couldn't because he couldn't remember what he always did.. His eyes searched the room for an idea on what might be the reason he felt he was forgetting something, the window wasn't open.. maybe he wanted it open? No.. he really didn't care.. his head cocked slightly to the right as his hand rubbed the back of his head in slight frustration.
It was then his eyes rested on the photo of his parents (even though he couldn't remember them still) his hand rested on Catherine's shoulder for a quick moment as he moved towards his bed again, his hand pulling away as quickly as it had been placed there. Grabbing up the photo, he stared at it for a moment, then at his pillow, then at the photo again, before quickly placing it down on his pillow and taking a step back. The didn't look at it until he was moving back towards Catherine, only throwing a glance back though, he felt better.. he just wasn't sure why he did that.
It only just clicked then that those elder people must be his parents, why else would he have a photo with a couple their age? They looked nice, he wondered if Catherine knew about them.. and he wondered why they hadn't called, hadn't someone told the about his condition, wouldn't they want to make sure he was ok? He'd ask Catherine later.. flashing her a small smile, though it had taken a bit of an effort to shrug off the confusion of the previous action with the photo.
After that, he walked beside her, this time he knew where he was going.. sort of.. so he wasn't trailing a step behind like he had done last night. It was strange how most of the people they past in the halls would flash a smile or a wave, it made Riley slightly nervous, what if they started talking to him and he hadn't a clue on who they where, yet they might talk to him as if expecting him to remember them.
