Avril's new album to be released on May 25th
Avril Lavigne's new, yet untitled, album is (probably) due out in the shops on May 25th.

It was made without the cooperation of The Matrix, the production team responsible for her first album "Let go" and her 3 hit-singles.

The new album was partly produced by Don Gilmore, best known for his work with Pearl Jam and Linkin Park.

Former Evanescence-guitarist and writer Ben Moody also made a contribution to the album.

The songs are mostly about relationships and the troubles involved, according to Lavigne.

Avril Lavigne Says New Album Is Darker & Heavier
Avril Lavigne has been previewing songs from her upcoming album 'Under My Skin' during her Avril Live And By Surprise mall tour. The singer has typically performed five of the new songs--"Don't Tell Me," "He Wasn't," "My Happy Ending," "Take Me Away," and "Nobody's Home." 'Under My Skin' comes out May 25.

Lavigne stated that 'Under My Skin' will have a somewhat different feel than her 2002 debut, 'Let Go'. "My singles are like pop songs, but the rest of the record is just, like, dark and it's just my type of music," Avril said. "I've got, like, dark piano stuff going on and I play piano. When I have been writing lately it's just been dark stuff, kind of. I like a lot of guitars, and I like a heavy sound. A lot of my record is like that."

Among Lavigne's co-writers on 'Under My Skin' are besides the before mentioned former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody; Canadian singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk and her husband, Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida; and Lavigne's guitarist Evan Taubenfield.

Lavigne is nominated for two Juno Awards--the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys--which will be presented April 4 in Edmonton, Alberta. She'll perform at the ceremony, and then again at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in Los Angeles on April 9.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.
