Awayness
I was hoping to get in a few more but there are two new posties awaiting people which will hopefully keep someone amused? Anyyyway on Monday I'm getting my wisdom teeth out and I envision pain and holding an ice pack on my jaw so I'll probably be out for a good couple of days or so. Wish me luck and I'll be back soon!
Re: Awayness
You having them all out? Hopefully it goes better than when I had mine out XD Though I only suffered one lol and it turned out to be deformed. Ask for lots of local anesthetic. If it still hurts ask for more! Hopefully it won't hurt too long, pain meds help abit.. mouths generally heal very well and pretty quickly so fingers crossed it isn't too bad. *Decides now isn't a time to go on about the joyus mouth stuff she's had* lol. But really, if they get the levels of LA right, it doesn't hurt that much, just uncomfortable. And paracetamol/ibuprofen/both helps to keep the pain down - Take some a couple of hours before you get it done as well I suggest.
Catch you soon. x

Re: Awayness
Well I guess I didn't need to ask for a whole bunch of anesthetic! My appointment to have all four removed was at 10:15 a.m. and the last of the freezing in my chin and lip came out somewhere around 4-5 a.m. during that night so they froze me well! I had laughing gas and sedation and the local anesthetic I think and so far so good. My jaw is pretty sore and I've only tried applesauce to eat but there's been no bleeding or complications yet and the pain isn't as bad as when I had my tonsils out!
Re: Awayness
Hey no fair that you get a full blown cocktail :P.
Anyway, if there's been no bleeding yet I doubt there will be. Hopefully the soreness won't last too long, only leaving this weird sensation of 'gone teeth'. And possibly what feels like a gapping hole.. or 4 (It will heal over!)
And no complications is always good. Seem's I'm a dentist's worse nightmare. Mwahahahaha

Re: Awayness
Lol! Oddly enough I have decent teeth aside from the fact that they didn't like falling out on their own when I was younger (I swear I got most of my teeth pulled) and they're larger than I'd like. I remain a miracle in my ability to remain cavityfree while surviving on a diet made almost entirely of sugar though.
Well day two was a little rougher and I'm beginning to really miss food but today seems better and I'm beginning to feel like posting. You know me, take what I promise with a grain of salt, but it might happen!
Oddly enough I don't actually feel the gone teeth or hole sensation, I just have problems opening my jaw, which is normal, and my lip feels a little numb.
Re: Awayness
Posting is always good (says she who is once again dragging her heels for some unknown reason).
My teeth are awful XD. Most of my milk teeth came out unassisted. Or would have. Thing was, I had an extra set of front teeth between the milk and adult set, preventing the latter pushing out the former. And I was over crowded. So I had a op under general, had 13 teeth out in all - all on the top. Learnt something then, liquidised food tastes really nice actually! Then there were more issues so a second op saw some manipulation, and I'm sure just for fun they pulled out another 2!
My teeth are horribly prone to cavities. That's why I had to have one wisdom tooth out. And true to form, the dental x-ray failed to show the deformed roots XD. Yeah, I have no luck with my teeth, except that by some miracle I've not got any falseys yet.
Teeth are fun. However, never try to get the tooth fairy to pay for 13 teeth all at once. You'll get an I.O.U. She'll never honour!

Re: Awayness
Um yeah so that didn't happen lol. My apologies. I've been having some side effects to the pain medication that yesterday escalated to a huge headache and dizziness when I moved but I've stopped taking it and seem better!
Oh man and I thought my brother and I's amount of teeth pulled was bad. You certainly take the cake Rebecca! Poor you!
The tooth fairy never paid you? That's quite sad. My tooth fairy used to leave me tiny notes with neat tiny writing and money.
*jugs* Side affects suck big time, but at least coming off the meds helped. Still, hopefully that means the pain isn't too bad either!
And I've kinda gotten used to the weirdness of me XD
I used to get a pound for each tooth.. I did have a little ornament thing but never used it. Is it gross that mum kept my 13 teeth.. and they're still here somewhere? lol

Re: Awayness
Ooooo! I'd totally have taken books over loonies for my teeth
Well luckily by the time the side effects really kicked in and then I realised it was the meds the major pain was over so I'm down to advils and doing fine!
As for my bad wisdom teeth story? It was pretty much usual for the procedure. I had to have the wisdom teeth and two other teeth on my bottom and top jaw out because of how crowded my teeth were. They gave me the option of going ahead and getting the wisdom teeth out with anesthesia before they became a problem with all the other teeth or waiting and not having the anesthesia. Guess which I chose? Seriously? I'm such a baby when it comes to pain. LoL
It is funny how numb your entire jaw stays that way for a long time after the procedure. I think it stayed through the night of the procedure (I had it done in the morning) and on through the second night too. My dad had to carry me to the truck because I couldn't even walk straight after that anesthesia (don't remember if it was laughing gas or not..). I believe the last thing to be numb in my mouth was either my chin or my tongue..I think it was my chin because I was talking to my summer fling the second night after trying to eat a salad at the local Steak House (yeah, big mistake...But I really LOVE their salad bar!).
Re: Awayness
The is some salad bar dedication. I've had some bad dental issues but they've all been man made. Like the dentist drilled the wrong tooth a few times and so on. But for the most part my teeth are perfect, never had any problems, although my wisdom teeth did grow in early, so when I started complaining of pain in the back of my mouth my mom flipped out. But my dad, whose father was a dentist, figured it out pretty quick.
Re: Awayness
Yup they had a wheelchair to get me to the car after the procedure because I was pretty woozy Lol I don't think my tongue was numb... My bottom lip on the left side and a bit of my chin is still a little numb but it's tingly so no permanent damage and the specialist said it could take 6-8 weeks to return because the tooth roots were right near the nerves there.
I want to try this salad bar if it's that good lol!
Lucky you with almost perfect teeth! I went through two retainer type things and braces. I also had vampire fangs, two teeth that wouldn't come down on their own that had to be tugged down while I had braces on.
