Backstory

The year is Momento Mori 005.
"Momento Mori" is the time period given to the years after the destruction of Japan, a large strip of Antarctica, and over 30% of Mars from the Solar Cannon, a large super weapon that to this day floats in space. Five years since an act that ended the lives of over 1,370,000,000 people, and the war that caused it. Those responsible for the creation of the weapon and the destruction of the country, BAHRAM, took control of Mars a year before, which had been colonized in 2054 A.D., and declared succession.
Impressed by Mars's declaration, at the same time the DC formed and did the same. In response, ELF, REGAIA, and the Federation formed together to take the two down and maintain stability in the universe, but with Mars and the colonies, many companies also joined the effort. Mobile Suits, the newest of mainstream weapons, were sent to both factions by supporters, but BAHRAM used the funds from its mobile suits to develop something new...
The Orbital Frame. Suddenly, Allied fronts in Mars were pushed back as these fast and deadly weapons destroyed Zakus and Phantomas. ELF began investing as well in Orbital Frames, and soon began taking back space. Desperate, BAHRAM and the DC constructed a weapon of mass purportions...
REGAIA got word of it, and asked ELF to design a new type of Orbital Frame. This frame was called "Idolo", and was the trump card for the Allies.
However, before it could be finished, BAHRAM and the DC finished work on their weapon. Dubbed the Solar Cannon, it began gathering energy from the solar rays. As Idolo was finished, it began charging its beam...
A young pilot was quickly shoved into Idolo and sent to handle the cannon. It was expected that he wouldn't return, and as such a Self Destruction code was made. The AI of the machine did most of the work when they arrived at the cannon, taking out the patrols of OFs and MSs while explaining the controls of Idolo, but when Solar Cannon prepared to fire, the AI was damaged by an attack from an unidentified Orbital Frame. The pilot bravely landed on one of the enemy's cruisers, and had Idolo bring up the Federation's own super weapon...
The Vector Cannon and the Solar Cannon both fired at the same time, the Solar Cannon aimed at Japan, the site of most of the Allies's weapons manufacturing, and the Vector Cannon aimed at the structural weak point of the Solar Cannon. Japan was destroyed, a 100% mortality rate happening, as the Vector's blast destroyed the stabalizers of the Solar. The cannon curved, making a line through Antarctica as it swung around... right towards Mars.
The cannon fired hit all fronts, destroying BAHRAM, DC, and Allies units alike, and hitting the BAHRAM capital. BAHRAM's leader was killed, and BAHRAM was silenced. The DC, seeing their stronger ally defeated quickly after their leader was killed, surrendered as well.
Five years later, the universe has been at peace. Idolo and its pilot was put on a military base in space, the Solar Cannon was effectively silenced, and life has resumed. However, Rogue units in the new BAHRAM and DC, working together, have done a silent Coupe De Gras. Their plans are to start a new war, but to do so, they need a weapon, an edge...
Enter the ANUBIS project. An Orbital Frame designed to use the Solar Cannon's power, making it a mobile, lighter form. Slowly, this weapon is being made, as well as multiple Gundam units to protect it when firing. As this is happening, the Solar Cannon is also being repaired. However, As this is quietly going on, reports from Pluto talk of a new enemy...
