Battlefront Born of Betrayal
The Macross defolded in space outside of Jupitor a few seconds after it departed from the space around Pluto. The giant ship switched its propulsion to the sublight engines and began to cruise toward the nearest colony.
"Start going through docking protocols," Capt. Vess commanded. "We'll start getting repaired and resupplied while we wait for the rest of this task force to arrive."
Communications were being exchanged between the Macross and the colony as the ship drew closer. Arraingements were being made for the SDF-1 to dock at a neutral port of the colony just to avoid as much friction as possible.

Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
Along with it was the Kestrel, which had gotten close enough to get sucked along with it via the Fold System.
"Sir, incoming formation of ships... The IFF confirms they're the Bael and the rest of its fleet," one of Anderson's radarmen said, looking over at the captain with a shellshocked look on his face.
"I see. Patch me a line to the Admiral."
"Yes sir." No video connection was made, but he got a line in perfectly with his CO.
"Fleet Admiral Elndor, it's good to see you again."
"Cut the crap. I need to make sure of something... have you seen this man aboard your ship?" A picture of a man showed up on the screen, and the commander studied it before shaking his head.
"No sir."
"Well then, Commander Anderson... how unfortunate that you've made it this far," Marquis said, a sigh coming from his line. "... I was hoping they'd deal with you beforehand, but as you're now in my grasp and don't have my target, I'll do it myself."
"... Admiral Elndor? What're you talking about?"
"Attention all ships under my command. The group in front of us are enemies... They're all traitors. Launch all Mosbile Suits, and aim all cannons at the MACROSS. We're going to destroy them before they get to their goal... the destruction of the space station Raiden."
"What?"
"... Yes sir." the replies of the other captains was one of either confusion of acknowledgement. Anderson stared at the Admiral's cocky face, before looking over at Derence, who he'd invited aboard the ship, and then back at Marquis.
"... What... What the hell are you talking about?!" The general communications cut, as only a private one directly to Anderson was established.
"I was hoping they'd have killed you. Unfortunately, my subordinates are too stupid to deal with you. At least you didn't destroy the mothership, like I had to and also what happened in Mars. As per arraingment with some of our allies, I have to destroy the MACROSS. Your usefulness has expired. Now to do the same with your life. ... Oh, Derence, is that you over there? Well well well, shouldn't have stuck your nose into it... Though, then again, I've been wanting to kill you."
".... Get me a link to the MACROSS, NOW!" Anderson glared at the scene in front of him... hundreds of ships, aiming their cannons at his small Pegasus ship. If the initial barrage was allowed to happen, the entire ship would be destroyed. "MACROSS, get ready for an attack! Fleet Admiral Marquis is a member of the enem-"
The Pegasus class ship shook, as two shots were fired into the front. The crew's quarters were hit, and a few people floated out from it, one missing half his body. The other was one of the openings of the hangars, the door destroyed completely. They would have to launch all of their forces out of one exit ramp... Then agian, it was better than the completel barrage that was shot at the MACROSS.
"Get the Evas and the Frames launched!" Anderson shouted to his crew, before looking over at Derence. "... Mr. President, please get to safety. I can't allow you to die."
"No rest for the wicked, eh?" Kris shouted, turning on her metatron helmet before leaping into Nut's cockpit. "Now this is a war I can get used to! The Federation should be a piece of cake compared to BAHRAM!"
"Shinji, take care," a young brunette in a nurse's outfit shouted to the purple unit, waving before heading for the exit. She'd have to take control of the sick bay to deal with all the injuries that had happened.
"... Mein Gott, the Outer Rim Fleet... we're not only outnumbered and outgunned, but we've never even used the Evas in combat up until now!" Asuka said, sweat already pouring off her. Of course, it was completely invisible thanks to it joining the LCL, but the look of fear was easy to see on her face. "... Well, at least I have Baka-Shinji and that dummkopf Pride to back me up..."
"The launching order is as followed- Nut, Eva 02, Eva 01, Idolo, and Eva CC. Followed by them will be our MSs," the hangar's lead technician shouted over the radio, making gestures at his crew as they prepped the ramp. Nut was quickly put onto it, and they launched it out. Once in space, it sped for the oncoming enemy, a grin on Kris's face.
"Well, here goes nothing!" She crashed head on into the first squad, other passing her as she began her close combat fight.
02 was then launched, it landing on the Kestrel and bringing up the Positron Rifle, firing into the swarms. On the MACROSS, however, a certain green-haired boy, after having washed his helmet and face, was already back in his plane, his fingers strumming the controls.
"Captain! Get me restocked, refueled, and let me get out there!"
Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
"No. This is my fight more than it is your's. This bastard sat back and watch the Antilla colony get raided. He watched my people die and be kidnapped. I will KILL him. I have had every reason to kill him since day one." Derence replied across the line, the Ebony Enigma dropping into a battle stance as the six slightly confused guards pulling into a tight circle around their president.
"If I die, the ELF may go to war with the Federation if they don't deal with Marquis... but that's nothing new. Besides, we need new blood in the office." Derence replied, a slight smile on his face.
"Get my fleet out here ASAP as well as three merc fleets." Derence spokea cross his personal communication channel.
"Sir?"
"Marquis has gone rogue. We're gonna need some help."
"Yes sir! ETA is 15 minutes."
"All right." Derence broke away from the channel... now he just had to help hold off Marquis long enough to bring his own troops into the fray. He wish he could have called in more, but Antilla still needed repairs as well as various other bits and pieces that required the military around Jupiter space.
Oh well. Make due with what you have.

Wuth sat in the cockpit of the CC, slightly shaken and very confused. He wasn't sure what was going on, other than he was about to be shot out into space again to fight. Being shot into space was deffinately something that he did not want to experience a second time. 'This is suicide! The CC was not made for space combat! I'm going to get my ass handed to me!'
Wuth squeezed the control handles in front of him as he felt the ship shudder. 'False alarm... Man... I reeeealy don't want to get shot into space... Maybe they would let me just jump out there...'
Wuth looked around him and noticed that the other suits were also being prepped for launch. 'Well, at least I won't be alone...' He thought to himself as he wiped the sweat from his brow.
"So, how about a briefing... or some soothing musak?"

Capt. Vess was surprisingly calm considering that the Federation had just branded them traitors and one of its fleets was preparing to destroy them.
"Who is Admiral Marquis?" Vess inquired after the Kestral had just contacted them with the betrayal.
The members of the bridge crew were absolutely shocked at the question. They really could not believe that their captain had no idea who the key players in the Federation military were.
"He's the commander of the Feder... Nevermind," One ship operator tried to explain before irritatedly giving up. "We've just got a whole fleet getting ready to attack us!"
"Activate the Pinpoint Barriers then," the captain retorted quickly.
The ship operator sighed in exasperation, mostly because she hadn't really thought about doing it before Capt. Vess had said anything.
"Scramble the Ghost fighters and the Faulken. Engine room, prepare for combat."

Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
The entire fleet opened up on the two ships and the mechas around and ahead of them. Nut dodged shots left and right, firing shots at any MS that came too close, the Kestrel attempted to evade. Unfortunately, it was too close... and was soon to be hit full on. Something appeared in front of it, though... some sort of shield! 02 had thrown its weapon away, and was holding up an AT Field. Inside the mecha, Asuka was shaking, trying to keep up the barrier.
"Idiots! Hurry up and lauuuuunnnchhhh!"
From the MACROSS came the FALKEN again, swopping off towards the enemy as Bailey glared at his target- the Bael.
"So, he's with them? ... I'll kill him then. We can't allow mass murderers to go rampant!" the FALKEN dodged a shot, its TLS charing up, before turning back the fire, cutting through a patrol ship in one fell swoop.
Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
Derence was accustomed to fighting fleets. Mercenaries usually weren't treated very kindly by their employers. He'd been on his share of cannon fodder missions and knew how to exploit a large ship's lack of mobility in comparison to an OF.
"We heard you needed some help." A mercenary spoke over the comm. channels. The fleets had come from the outlying colonies.
And then the Ender's Blade openned fire on the Bael personally. The President's Guard launched out, bypassing a route that would have taken them straight through the enemy fleet to join up with the President.
"Sir! Ready to die!" The head of the President's Guard was here. A former mercenary like Derence but much more vicious than him.
"Good to see you here. The Bael is the main target of this mission. Marquis must pay for his betrayal of the Enders." He had left out of the Federation in his speech, thinking Marquis probably had the Federation on his side.
Then, again over his personal link, "Prepare the paper work for war with the Federation."
"Sir?!" Came the surprised response. He could see the bored communications expert spitting out his favored coffee.
"Don't issue the order for open war yet... but prepare the paperwork. I feel we may have no choice."
And finally, a message specifically to the Kestrel.
"To the federation ship Kestrel, I believe your own side may have betrayed you. More than just Marquis. As a fleet admiral, it's hard to imagine him moving without some large back up behind him. In case this proves to be true, you're welcome to the core colonies of the ELF." Derence spoke to them, uniting with the President's Guard fully as the OFs moved in unison to the Bael. They cut down everything that came in their way.
The two leaders had much rage to vent on the Federation.

Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
After the Faulken launched, the Ghost drone fighters flew from the launch bays, all programmed to give fighter support to the Macross. However, while the fighters were attempting to form wings, the Macross was taking fire which sent terrible quakes throughout the ship.
"All fighters deployed," an crew member reported after being tossed around in her seat. "They are engaging the enemies attacking us now. Hull damage at twenty-two percent.
"Engage defensive patterns for the laser batteries. Fire the rail cannons at the nearest enemy ship," Captain Vess ordered immediately after the report.
Laser fire erupted from the Macross' laser turrets and the Ghosts' laser cannons. Explosions soon began to follow as both enemy units and Ghost drones were destroyed in the heated battle. The rail cannons fired at the closest frigate in Marquis' fleet, the destruction of the ship assured if the whole volley landed.
A little while after the battle truely started, what appeared to be a blue fighter jet suddenly appeared from out of nowhere on the edge of the battlefield. The fighter ejected two engines and streaked into battle. An energy field concentrated around one of its wings as it zipped past a couple of mobile suits. The two machines were cleaved in half by the fighter's wing and immediately exploded.
The fighter transformed, arms and legs extending out from its frame, the half-ship/half-robot GERWALK mode of a veritech fighter now plainly identifiable. A cluster of missles were fired from the fighter's pods into the swarm of enemy suits waging war. More explosions followed as the micro missles destroyed more mechs.
This veritech fighter was under the control of the officially dead space pirate turned ELF pilot Blue Kubris. With the Federation waging war in ELF space, Blue was one of the first units mobilized from Jupiter to support the ELF ships in the battle.

Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
"I have no beliefs that the Federation was involved in this," Anderson said, strumming his fingers across his chair's rest. "Though I think I'll take you up on your offer, President. I'm sure my crew would love to see the colonies up close."
On the bridge of the Bael, however, things were even more chaotic.
"Damage to the Vulture, her bridge has been completely cut off from the ship by the FALKEN's TLS!"
"Damage report, Raven. Raven, come in. Raven, Raven?!"
"Ender's Blade has entered the battlefield! It's firing at us!" The Bael shook as it took the shot, returning fire with its cannons, as it launched more units.
"... Commander, you take over from here. Have my Gundam ready," Marquis said, standing up and looking at his radiowoman.
"yes sir! Reaper Gundam is completely ready!" she replied, and he took his leave from the bridge... stopping for a moment to give one last command.
"Fire all the mega particle beam cannons."
"Sir? But that's sixteen-"
"Do it NOW." With that, he was gone. Pausing for a moment, the technician nodded, and gave the order. The Bael seemed to blow as energy built up.. and it fired straight into the middle of the Ender fleet, towards the flag ship the Ender's Blade. As the cannons quieted down, a large black gundam moved out of the ship, followed by four or five silver Mobile Suits.
Reaper Gundam lived up to its name, with a large scythe and a cloak covering it as it headed towards the Ebony Enigma, one eye shining red.
From behind the Enigma, however, came Nut, Kris pulling up a connection with it.
"Derence Omni.. wow, long time no see! Hope you don't mind, but I feel like joining your little fight. Looks more fun than this cannon fodder around us."
Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
"@#%$! Incoming fire!"
"Move! Steer the ship to the side!"
"Red alert! Red alert! Incoming massive fire! All crew, move to the right side! This is not a drill! Doors locking in ten seconds"
"Ten seconds?! No one can get there in time!"
"We don't have a choice."
"MOVE! MOVE!"
"Sir?!"
"Doors locked."
"NO! NO!"
The Ender's Blade had quickly veered to the side of the barrage... sort of. The ship came out of the blast missing a large chunk of its left side. It was practically ripped in half, the engines and life support being spared only due to their position in the center of the ship. Atmosphere vented out the side of the ship and into space, bodies of those who hadn't made it in time floating out into space.
Though the Ender's blade still 'worked', it was crippled for the fight. The fleet's destroyers spread out, taking up positions firing on the Bael.
The two Mercenary flag ships followed suit, letting their destroyers and ships intercept the Bael's fleet.
"Hmm. You trust the Federation? I suppose you wouldn't have joined them otherwise. Don't expect much of a warm welcome on the colonies with that kind of an attitude." Derence replied, dodging a blow from another mech before tearing it in half.
"I'll share a little secret with you that you Federation soldiers don't seem to realize. We do not like the Federation. The Federation has caused us far too many wounds for them to be 'allies'. The only reason we stay in the corrupt Federation is due to the threat of war." Derence replied to the commander of the Kestrel as he moved closer to the Bael.
"Ah! Kris! What a surprise. Still a mercenary I see."
"Sir! The Ender's Blade had just taken critical damage?"
"Status report!"
"Most of the left side has been destroyed. She's limping back to the colonies. Chances are she'll be out of comission for months with that kind of damage."
"... Understood. Cover her retreat."
"All ready on it, sir!"
"President?" Another voice broke in, the mercenary leader
"Yes?"
"The Reaper Gundam has been spotted on the battle field."
"Dispatch to whipe up the area of bogeys... I'm going in for a little payback."
"Is that wise, Mr. President?"
"It's necessary. Arrange for some supressing fire to cover me." Derence spoke. It was necessary... and Marquis would expect it.
"Kris, make yourself useful and help me. I know I'm not paying you, but I'm going to keep Marquis busy. Try to ambush him. He'll be expecting me... I don't know if he'll expect you." And with that the Ebony Enigma was off with the rest of the President's Guard, cutting a path to the mech.

Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
The crew of the Macross could clearly see the multiple particle beams fired by the Federation fleet streak through space and cut through the ELF vessels. Captain Vess seemed not to show much expression despite the fact that the display would spurn her into action.
"Engage the transformation sequence," Vess ordered almost immediately.
The SDF-1 began to change. The end of the ship split down the middle and became legs. The two nautical craft attached to the sides of the cruiser detached and became the Macross' mighty arms. The limbs of the giant fortress fully extended and the cruiser became a giant robot.
"Ready the Dimensional Cannon. Target the center of the enemy fleet."
The towers rising above the Macross' shoulders lowered down ninety degrees until they were running perpendicular over the shoulders. Thrusters shifted the fortress slightly so that the SDF-1's main weapon was in line with the enemy fleet.
"Fire."
"Ma'am are you cer..."
"I am aware of what will happen. Fire."
From the Macross, a huge blast of charged particles ripped through space toward the Federation fleet, completely annihilating everything unfortunate enough to get in its path.

Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
"@#%$! @#%$!" The Bael turned sharply, actually making the turn to get it sideways... unfortunately, it was facing the MACROSS now. The commander of the ship's eyes widened in shock as the beam came directly towards the ship... and seconds later, the remaining half of his body was floating in space. The mighty Bael shook, seeming to spasm, as small eruptions came over its remains before it finally exploded, taking a few ships out in the process. The other survivors all quickly diverted their paths, splitting up as they directed all their cannons and missiles towards the MACROSS.
"Roger that, Omni. Oh, and trust me, you'll be paying me alright... I want that hundred year old bottle of wine they gave you when you became the president. When we get back, that's mine. And there's nothing you can say about it, because today's the day Kris Nikolai saves your a-AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" Her OF was slammed into by the guards around Marquis.. the Midnight Fenrirs. "@#%$! Ow, @#%$... hit my @#%$ head... it's up to you, Derence! I'll play with these bad boys!" Nut spun away from a slash by a beam saber, firing a shot directly into the head of the enemy unit, before dashing away, firing at its persuers.
"Well well well... looks like the President at least knows how to pilot. Maybe you aren't entirely useful... maybe we can find something other than meat in the people we grabbed from Antilla. We always love new blood in our piloting division..." Marquis taunted over the radio, his unit suddenly dashing towards the Ebony Enigma at a high speed, intending on slamming into it and slamming it into a nearby ship with the handle of the scythe.
Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
Derence cursed unde his breath, quicly sending his guard to help ou Kris as he watched Marquis charge him. He quickly used his Metatron Poisoning program, firing off the dart before he began to dash to the side... And two others dashed out of the EE. The took up positions in a triangle , aiming and firing their Halberd beams on Marquis as he passed into the triangle.
"You... you are one of them aren't you?" Derence murmured across the channel, concentrating on keeping a bead on the fast moving Gundam. Was it even a gundam? If he was one of those strange things that assaulted... perhaps it only appeared like a gundam.
But what ever it was, it was no raptor. He had the advantage in speed.
"Huh. Well, doesn't matter now. I will kill you, Marquis. What ever the @#%$ you are and who ever you serve."
"Ms. Nikolai? We heard you required some assisstance." And with that across her channel, the six members of the President's Guard charged forward, intercepting some Fenrirs are rapidly engaging them.
"Ms. Nikolai, I think the president needs you with him. If nothing else, help us mop up Marquis' little toys before you engage something else." The leader of the President's Guard spoke to Kris, a rather corteous tone and voice as he continued fighting with one of the Fenrirs.

Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
After firing the Dimension Cannon, the Macross' systems shutdown from energy consumption of the main weapon. The laser defenses stopped firing, leaving only the Ghost squadrons to provide cover fire. Energy beams fired from the remaining Federation ships blasted the Macross. Explosions erupted from the hull of the giant robot but it remained intact.
"We have multiple hull breaches and fires detected! Pinpoint barriers at forty-two percent power."
"Seal off the affected areas and engage fire extinguishing systems," Vess commanded quickly after receiving the status report. "Have the Ghosts begin advanced defensive formations to keep the smaller enemy units from advancing on us. We must hold out for five minutes before operating levels reach one hundred percent again."
---------------------------------------
While the battleships exchanged fire, Blue had switched his VF-22S back into Fighter mode. The plane zipped through the battlefield, dodging the dangerous energy volleys being shot around. Soon, missle alarms sounded in his cockpit as his sensors detected a volley of missles heading for his veritech fighter. The Sturmvogel II transformed into the humanoid Battroid mode and fired thrusters that spun it around to face the incoming missles. Blue fired both gunpods held in his mecha's hands and his anti-air laser turret mounted on his head into the cluster of missiles, causing a chain reaction of explosions that destroyed all the missiles. Blue then aimed his gunpod rifles at the attacking mobile suits and ripped them apart with the bullets.

The Fenrirs jettisoned away, Nut passing right past them, before instead now targeting the guards.
"Thanks, boys! I owe you one!"
In front ot the Macross, The Kestrel stopped in front of its bridge, firing all the missiles in its reserves.
"We have to help defend the Macross! Asuka!"
"Roger!" A group of missiles came for the ship, only to be stopped by that barrier again. "I can't keep this up, though, so get me some help!"
"You heard her, what's the @#%$ holdup?!" Anderson shouted, glaring at a screen in front of him.
"Sorry sir, but the latest hits shook some of the MSs around, the hangar's a wreck!" Anderson grunted, tossing his hat down in anger.
"Heh, looks like the president DOES have a brain! Yes, I'm nore what you can call 'human'... But that's of no concern. After I kill you, I'll take your body back and use your skills for our next project!" A barrier formed around the Gundam, as it charged the EE, attempting to slam it between the handle of its scythe and a nearby ship.
Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
The three Ebony Enigmas broke up their attack, moving in a disjointed action.
Marquis did get one though...
A false one.
The hologram hit the ship and... dissapeared. One was coming in from behing Marquis' gundam, another one in the back charging up a burst attack to hit the Reaper gundam.
"Body snatchers...? What manner of wolf are you, Marquis?" Derence spoke. He was enraged... but curious. Just what were they dealing with now? It was something undoubtably inhuman. It was inevitable some alien race would be contacted... if it was alien at all...
But this one was hostile... was it a genetic project the Federation had started?
Now wasn't the time for his theories....

Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
All aboard the bridge of the Macross were surprised when a ship suddenly filled their view of the battle that laid ahead.
"Is that the Kestrel?" one operator said in shock.
Capt. Vess said nothing about the Kestrel's actions and carried on with her calculations. She knew that the Dimension Cannon was halfway recharged so the Kestrel would simply be in the way in a couple minutes.
"What's the status on those fires? The cannon is half charged and the fires must be eliminated before it is fired again," stated Capt. Vess bluntly.
"All but one fire has been extinguished. There was a malfunction in the system but it was corrected and now operating."
The bridge crew were all wondering how she knew precisely when the Macross had reached a half charge of its weapon energy. Most assumed that she was timing it with a stop watch or counting off in her head.

Re: Battlefront Born of Betrayal
"A wolf is sheep's clothing!" he shouted, the cloak being blown off it as rockets came from its back, heading for both. At the same time, lining them up, it attempted to crush the real EE between it and a ship again. "I bet you think the Federation is in on this, don't you Derence? Hah, you humans are so pathetic!" he said, grinning as his eyes went from their silver hue to a bright, deep red.
"If Mankind cannot trust itself, then mankind will perish!"
"Sir, incoming bogey! It's stopped just inside our radar's range!"
"What's it got on its IFF?"
"... It's a BAHRAM Orbital Frame, sir! Unknown make and model!" A bright light streaked from its location across the battlefield, piercing the sides of many of the enemy ships. They began to erupt in flames too, as now 80% of the entire Outer Rim Fleet was destroyed... the remaining 20% was easily less than 18. Just like that, though, the blip on the radar vanished as quickly as it came.
"... My god..." Kris said, looking at the destruction. "Is that the power of...?" she trailed off, Nut staying still for a few seconds, before she shook the shock off and continued towards EE and the enemy Gundam.
