Board NPCs playing large Roles
When role playing there are times that people create NPCs that are remarked as being well known, or not so known, but still in the end are of some significance and ought to be known to others. For example, when the RPG started, Max Chadstone was an NPC, said to be Xavier’s well known womaniser and abusive bully. Now, while I knew that Max was a popular bully, and Jenn also knew, no one else really knew of that detail regarding Max until he was created as a main character for me to RP. So to keep track of important notes that characters will need to know about, this section is here to keep a record over all the NPCs that are mentioned as being of some importance, or are mentioned more then once. Consider this a section for brief character bios for the NPCs.
If you have any NPCs that you have mentioned, it would be appreciated if you write a little bit about them and post their names and short explanation here in this thread, we’ll add it to the main post and deleted the posts below to save clutter. It’s also to save one person saying something that contradicts someone else’s posts and such.
Students at Xavier’s Institute:
-Damon.
Another arrogant student at the school, a fire wilder that burns on contact via not a fire elemental control as such but a chemical which is produced by his skin. Red eyes and black spiked hair with red tips, Damon brags and bullies, but keeps his threats more in your face and resists physical fights unless his pride and ego has been bruised. Damon sticks to a pack of friends, he plays hard to get with woman who are interested in him but he isn’t overly taken by, but is highly flirtatious at the same time. Damon is considered cute, well kept, but isn’t anything worth supermodel status as Max Chadstone. Damon was one of Chadstone’s many victims, having made the mistake of upsetting the highly sexy Lara, one of Max’s long term friends, by insulting her. During a fight Damon realized his chemical’s didn’t really effect the stone skinned Max and even though Damon was the one with bruises and bloody nose and cuts, it was him who had been charged for assault against Max and since 2022 Damon has trying to stick well away from Chadstone, but doesn’t hide the anger towards Max too well.
-Tony, Mark & Lara.
The main circle around Max Chadstone, Tony and Mark are not the usual ‘goons’ seen hovering around a popular figure, unlike the trade mark classics, Tony and Mark are actually fond of their friend Max, and are treated well by the Chadstone’s on top of that. Mark is a black skinned mutant with feral yellow eyes and slightly fanged maulers, only he isn’t with a feral ability, Mark possesses mild attributes of a snake. His bite can be poisonous if desired, a poison that can also be released at will by shooting from a special sack in his mouth. As one could imagine, people do tend to feel highly uneasy when confronted with the fine looking and self appointed body guard of Max. Tony and Mark are extremely close, hardly ever seen apart, while Max tends to like to hover between groups and Lara only really sees them when they are going out.
Police Department:
-Alice (Ashford).
A runaway pet project of the Initiative. Alice was one of the few former agents that made a run from the agency and has managed to earn her freedom by later performing various tasks using her extreme skills. Alice is one of the handful of demonic hybrids the Initiative produced as bio-weapons, the government is treating her position in the police force as a testing ground for her and future developments of the project and its other specimens. At the moment Alice is considered a failure, since they didn’t achieve the results desired with her in their opinions, unknown to them at this time, Alice’s DNA is still mutating, what effects that will have on her and how long it will continue, or if it will even progress in any way, is all largely unknown.
Alice is highly athletic, with extreme jumping abilities, enhanced endurance to pain, sharp eyesight and a keen knowledge of weapon usage. In truth, Alice herself is unaware of what exactly she is, the bio weapon they consider her to be, or the truth about her test tube origins. The half breed assumes she was born like any other person, and that her memories had been erased before the previous ten years. For the last three years Alice has proven to be an exceptional law enforcer and has earned more then her fair share of praise and media coverage, along with her partner, Susan.
-Susan Valentine.
Born and raised as normally as possible in this ever changing world, Susan raised quickly through the ranks of her team mates and peers after joining the police department. Already a decorated officer by her twentieth birthday, Susan was teamed with the wild spirited new recruit ‘Alice’, whom their officials hoped would learn a thing or two from their prized officer. Alice’s past has baffled Susan for the past three years, but not being one to push for things that are personal unless deemed necessary, Susan has always tolerated her partners odd attitudes. Besides, Susan knows if there’s every a problem, Alice would be there, just like Susan be there for Alice, and anything else is just an additional bonus.
Family Members of active characters:
-Jonathon and Martha Finn [The Finn Family].
(Since they are currently active at the school, thus impact others as NPCs…)
Riley’s parents are spending some time with him, Jonathon is trying to solve the mysteries surrounding his son’s falsified death and Martha is doing her best at mothering a son who is torn between keeping them at a distance and devoting all his attention to them. Martha and Jonathon are a pleasant couple, Martha is a motherly figure, fussing over anyone who she feels needs it, while Jonathon is more of a friendly face who is there to help if the person is in need. Both aren’t bothered by mutants but they aren’t used to them either, additionally Riley’s parents tend to treat all the students like average people they’d pass by, and aren’t too fond of bullies or others who take advantage of someone.
-Steven Chadstone
A violent tempered middle aged man who feels image is everything and won’t allow the ‘perfect’ Chadstone name be stained in any way. Max’s father personally gets involved with anyone who smears the family name, even helping Max get a few unruly students into trouble, even a few days jail time on a few occasions. Steven got one of Max’s friends to allow him into the school, and then once inside Steven made his way to Max’s room and using his multitude of fists and a few good kicks, Steven shared his opinion towards Max’s recent sexual indiscretions involving…men.
Agency Characters:
-Graham, Samantha & Forrest [The Initiative]
This trio of run away agents are part of the Initiative ranks, the two males were Riley’s best friends during his time in the academy. Forrest is a head strong tempered man with a way with the ladies, often picking fights, some playful or others not so, even amongst Riley and Graham. Forrest blames Riley for being such a pain to the Initiative that had forced everything to get so screwed up, unlike the others, Forest actually liked it there, and had been displeased that Riley was so talented and yet didn’t want to put any of it to ‘good work’. Forrest doesn’t always take other people’s views or dreams into consideration, he and Riley drifted apart during Riley’s time with Claire Montague. While Riley never managed anything serious with her due to her difficult personality and selfish attitude, that didn’t stop Riley from wanting to try and see if something more would happen, especially since Claire was so skilfully tagging him along. When the 18 year old Finn stopped letting her fool him, Riley kept playing along for the fact living in an apartment with her was better then living underground in the Initiative, even if he wasn’t permitted to leave anywhere other then to school and back.
Riley’s two friends would stop by to visit him with the approval of Walsh and Forrest being himself figured if Riley wasn’t going to play around with someone as attractive as Claire then it wouldn’t matter if Forrest played around. Riley had mentioned that Claire kept going out with male companions, of course Riley wasn’t happy with that, she was very mocking with her innocence and then she’d have the nerve to question his activities, or lack of due to his many restrictions. Graham had been agitated and annoyed that Forrest acted so pig headedly and actually approached Claire. Graham and Riley are closer, the bold black skinned man feels awful for what happened between him and Riley’s parents, telling them that Rye had died, but like most agents, Graham just didn’t have any other choice but to do what he was told.
-Professor Maggie Walsh & Commander Halliwell [The Initiative]
The main ones responsible for the corruption in New York’s Initiative division. The Initiative was sanctioned by the US Government, it was legal and the officials made sure the agents hired to deal with the supernatural threats were treated and paid well. While the Government was responsible for paying the money directly into the private accounts of the agents, Walsh and Halliwell were in charge of the agents welfare. Maggie was responsible for most of the ‘upgrades’ and medical alterations, while Halliwell was in charge of the entire compound. He made sure their training involved real life and death situations, storing demons in a place called ‘The Arena’ which was like a huge maze with multiple levels, and numerous hazards before even encountering the demons. Most agents looked forward to the Arena sessions, usually being signed to one or two a week depending on the activities of the hostiles they were hunting and tagging. Walsh’s abilities with the mind were the reason that all the agents looked forward to the arena instead of feared its approach.
Others On the Board:
-Claire Montague
A well known supermodel, even gaining a few parts in some movies, but modelling is where most people will recognize her, the fact on the billboard and the near perfect form filling the pages of fashion magazines and playboy covers. Claire made a short visit with Xavier’s school, when she found Riley who had just been struck down by a motor cycle. Claire met Catherine Hall, the new sleaze of Riley’s life in the models opinion. As far as Claire cared money was the only thing that was really important, that and admiration. During her time at the school Riley was going through his phrase of thinking he was Marc Lucas, and Claire was doing her best to discreetly try and lure him out of the school. In the end, when Claire left empty handed, she seemed to have disappeared, Catherine feels Claire had been gotten to by the Initiative, that’s the impression Claire gave Riley’s new girlfriend. Since then, Claire has returned to her career, her other activities and alliance remain unknown.
