Can Miata's be used to increase numbers?
I was looking at the GCR and trying to decide if a Miata with racing slicks and no top could be considered a CSR. Do you think it's legal? The time differential would be about 20 seconds/lap at Laguna (12%) which isn't any worse than RX7 and ITE which usually run together. Sure would pick up the numbers. Maybe no one would want to but do you think it's legal?

Tricky areas would be maximum height (45.25"), and required Homologation.

Re: Can Miata's be used to increase numbers?
Good points but I think it's a moot point. I just realized that the Miata head is 4 valve / cylinder. That does beg another question. How does everyone feel about allowing such an engine into C sports? I noticed that 1.6L 16valve VW's are legal with restricted carburetion. Are people opposed/in favor? Do you think the competition commitee would be opposed/ in favor?
