City Streets and Buildings - Home with a Dinner Guest!
VAUGHN
*Vaughn walked into the old building, most of the windows were either broken or covered with wood. He dropped the mutant down on the ground, in front of him.*
Vaughn: "Shawna...I'm home!"
*He yelled out loud. Then a woman walked in, her blue hair tied up in a ponytail, she had just spent some time training. Vaughn pointed to the ground as she walked in.*
Shawna: "What have your brought in now?"
Vaughn: "A mortal I think, but maybe something more, he scent seems familiure..."
*He sniffed her again, still in his beast form.*
Vaughn: "...A mutant? Yes...She's a mutant..."
*The Shapeshifter looked at the Cat, a slight glare crossed her face. But before she could think anymore Vaughn interupted, after all, since there were no mutants left in this world, Shapeshifters were being hunted...*
Vaughn: "Don't worry, we can help you, little mutant...You do know everything with that guy before, was an act. He's probably got all your friends by a fire ready to cook them by now..."
CATHERINE
Cat felt panic flush through her, blood racing to her head making her feel as though she was about to black out. She stared around her, this couldn't be happening it just couldn't be. She wanted to move, to get to her feet but her arms and legs didn't seem to want to obay her, her face rather white as she looked up at the pair of them.
'I am not a mutant.' She said rather indignantly, trying to mke herself angry, if she wasn't annoyed she would break down in a quivering heap.
'Who ... what are you and what do you want with me?' She said looking up at the pair infront of her wondering if she was going to die. She felt awful at abandoning Sean and the others, but perhaps she could do something to help them.
MARK
Mark's body moved effortlessly threw the door as he intruded into the lair of the creature that snatched Cat.
Mark:"Get away from her!"
He yelled angrily at the kidnappers, he moved between Cat and the two who would seek to either harm or use her.
Mark:"I talked with your friends, I know you're not from around, they all seem spooked out about us, so I'm not going to tell you to trust me, I'm going to tell you to run! So Run!"
He yelled at the girl who seemed terrified and confused, all of the creatures she had to encounter in a grave yard..it had to be one that wasn't dead, atleast he could hurt the undead!
He turned and faced her captures.
Mark:"The Slayer's on her way, I suggest you leave her and run while you have the chance!"
JENNIFER
With that, the door flew off the hinges, landing on the ground with a crushing thud.
Rogue:"Knock Knock!"
She yelled as she entered, standing at the doorway with hands on hips and seriously annoyed expression across her face.
Rogue:"I'm having a very bad day Vaughn, wonna mess with a cranky slayer?"
She asked with an air of hostility on her voice.
Rogue:"Mark, her friends are just behind me, go show them way here, better hurry, that Sean fella's really upset."
Her eyes didn't move off Vaughn, Mark gave the couple a smirk as he disapeared.
Rogue:"Now.."
She reached into her jacket and pulled out a small dagger.
Rogue:"These kids are under the Slayer's protection Vaughn, or where you going to do something silly like...eat Angelus's property?"
She knew she was lying, but her face didn't reveal anything but anger and honesty, sure she could fight him, but he'd only come back for more, maybe if she could convinced them they belonged to the powerful Dark Lord, then they'd leave the newcomers alone..
Rogue:"Go ahead and sniff if you don't belive me, she's got Angelus, Dru even Spike's scent all over her, they are servents to Angelus, and I promised Spike I'd look out for them. Or did you want me to tell the bringer of eternal darkness you snacked on his new favorite servents?"
She lied bluntly about them belonging to Angelus, but it seemed to all that she was deadly serious.
SEAN
There was a loud crash behind the crushed door that Rouge stood upon and Sean ran through the door, scraping to a halt next to the Slayer. Anger filled his veins as he saw Cat lying on the floor by the woman and her werebeast friend. He felt himslef ready for a fight and he couldn't hold himself back;
"Let her go!" Sean shouted, "You may know this slayer but you don't know me, I won't let you do this to her. You should muzzle your friend here and give her up!"
Sean shouted, behind his glasses his eyes filled with the rage he felt at that moment, he knew he was probably annoying Rouge, this wasn't his realm, but all he knew was that he needed to get Cat back and get back to school, he had had enough of this demon filled land.
He raised one of his hands and looked upon them, staring at the two assailants that had taken Cat.....
SHAWNA
*The Shapeshifter glared at the mutants. After all she used to be a secret agent who 'disposed' of mutants and since there were none left, or so that was believed, the M.A.B. had gone after Shapeshifters, killing her family. That was why she had stayed quiet and hidden. Vaughn was suposed to help protect her, and he wasn't doing a good job, he had brought a mutant here which lead the Slayer and her friends here.*
Shawna: "Mutants..."
*She muttered to herself. She looke dat Cat and smirk. She claimed she wasn't a mutant, but she could tell. It was just something those of her agency knew. She took time to talk to her, ignoring the other around her.*
Shawna: "You deny who you are...It's probably one of the best things you can do here."
*She looked over to Rogue*
Shawna: "I want nothing to do with the mutant, but if Angelus wants her dead tell him to give me a call."
*She finished with a smirk*
VAUGHN
Rogue:"These kids are under the Slayer's protection Vaughn, or where you going to do something silly like...eat Angelus's property?"
*He glared at the Slayer. Where they really his property?*
*He looked from Rogue to the mutants.*
Vaughn: "Fine then, I will."
*He growled and walked over to Cat, giving her a proper sniff. His eyes jumped as he could smell the vampires scent on her. Then as he was about to sniff the male mutant, he spoke.*
"Let her go!" Sean shouted, "You may know this slayer but you don't know me, I won't let you do this to her. You should muzzle your friend here and give her up!"
Vaughn: "Muzzles are for dogs and maybe some WereWolves....But...NOT WEREBEASTS!!!"
*He shouted, obviously not liking the last comment. He looked back to Rogue.*
Vaughn: "Fine! Take them. See if I care, I bet they'd be all tough and tasteless anyway. But if Angelus let's any of his little 'pets' run past my path again he'll be looking for new servants..."
*He said, snapping at Sean*
CATHERINE
Cat suddenly found the inner strength to get to her feet. She stepped back wairly towards Sean her eyes upon the two figures, heart racing in her chest.
She found her legs were trembling under her, she stumbled upto Sean and clung to him. Realising she had never been so glad to see anyone let alone a mutant.
'I'm sorry Sean, I didn't mean to run off.' She said not looking him in the eye, her head resting upon his shoulder, arms around his waist. Relived not to be alone anymore, determined not to go three feet from his side untill they got back.
SEAN
Sean held Cat by the shoulders, a feeling of relief that she was safe, but as he did the reality of the situation came about him, his mind returned and the inpending danger suddenly was felt.
He quickly turned back to the WereBeast and his friend, his rage still bottled up and flowing through his very veins. He didn't no what to do, this was the Slayers call it wasn't his world, but he had to do something, he had to show them that they couldn't do this to his kind.
Sean steadied himself, feet wide apart, arms outstretched ready to attack or defend if needed, he felt the presence of his surroundings, he felt all the objects in it, the people, anything he would be able to use or fight, he was ready to fight. Even without his eyes he was strong and willing to prove his strength.....
JENNIFER
Jennifer's eyes didn't show her displeasure of the young mutant's outburst, Mark appeared at the door, but as the beast allowed them to leave, Rogue slowly stepped away from them..
Rogue:"Great then, I'll be sure to drop by later."
She said with a polite smile which also hinted she would hurt them if she saw them here when she returned.
Rogue:"Sean.."
She placed her hand on his shoulder as she stepped away from the were beast, not taking her eyes of either of them.
Rogue:"Leave, we have bigger problems then this."
Her tone warned of something dangerous approaching.
Dawn looked at Clay, she didn't want to enter the house, but she was ready should a fight break out, thinking over different verses she could use as spells against the evil creatures.
Dawn watched the slayer, her arms wrapped tightly around herself in a futile effort to keep herself warm, she wanted to tell someone, Sean, Clay, even Cat, but now wasn't the time..
Mark:"So..."
The spirit stood next to Clay, he looked at the mutant, to any who saw Mark, they would think him a solid normal human, however with the heavy down pour and the fact he didn't appear at all wet made him stand out.
Dawn's attention shifted over to the ghost, her bottom lip trembling from the cold as her normally silky fluffy hair lay soaked and messy about her shoulders, strands of her fringe draping down the side of her face.
Mark:"I know Lost Angel's is what some could consider a little fixer-upper, but what do ya think of it so far?"
Dawn:"..I want to go home."
She grumbled in response as she gave a shiver from the cold.
Rogue:"Sean."
Rogue slowly turned and faced the boy as the man and woman left their sights down the back way of the house.
Rogue:"Next time you want to get us all killed, don't bother inviting me along for the joy ride, I don't know where you're from, or what powers you possess, but this is my world, my domain.
You really think you can go up against a WereBeast? Who knows, you might be able to, but this WereBeast has friends, lots and lots of pointy teethed friends, and we're not talking about Lumpies here."
She stated as she pushed her way past the self-proclaimed leader of the group.
MARK
Mark looked over as Rogue walked out of the building, it wasn't rare for her to talk her way out of situations, after all, she didn't become the longest living slayer by taking lot's of risks.
Mark:"Wait, Rogue, these guys don't sound as if they handle vamps on a daily basis, go easy on them huh?"
Rogue:"Look at him, he's ready to blow a fuse, if he's so worried about his girlfriend then he could focus more on getting her away from trouble then on causing more."
Mark looked over at Cat and smiled, at least she was safe now.
Mark:"Hey...sorry about not being able to stop him from taking you..."
The ghost looked over at Sean
Mark:"Demons like to keep to the traditional hours of hunting, right now they considered it daytime hours, but nightfall is coming soon, not wise for humans, gifted or not, to out and about."
He looked up at the starry night sky, most of which was blanketed in dark rain clouds, before looking back at Sean.
Mark:"Nightfall should be coming soon, if you guys don't have anywhere to stay, maybe you should all crash at our apartment, explain a few things..like...where are you from, and maybe we can explain where you are."
Rogue:"Are you crazy, of course they are coming with us, I'm not letting these people just walk about, he tried to fight a werebeast and an ex-Mutant hunter, he's crazy, and bound to be killed."
Mark:"And your warm personality is going to make these guys wonna come rushing to our doorstep."
He said sarcasticly.
Rogue:"I'm afraid right now they don't have much of a choice, they either come with me, or wait for our fuzzy pal to return with his friends."
Mark:"Can you give her your coat?"
He asked flying right off topic as he looked over at Cat who was shivering.
Rogue:"What?"
Mark:"I'd offer mine but..."
Rogue pulled off her leather coat with frown and walked over to Cat, not even asking if she wanted it since the girl was shaking, Rogue did offer her a friendly smile though.
Rogue:"Alright, he's right.."
Rogue placed her coat over Cat's shoulders.
Rogue:"You have a choice, fuzzies, lumpies or cozy apartment?"
CATHERINE
Cat smiled suddenly, the first real smile that had graced her face since Anne and Roger had bundled her into their car, such a few short hours ago, but to Cat it felt like days. She didn't shrug the jacket off, realsing a certain spirit kindrid in the woman infront of her. She might put on a tough exterior but under it she did care, and she was human as far as Cat was aware.
She glanced over at Mark, choosing to ignore his comment on her being Sean's girlfriend. She glanced over at Sean to see his reaction, a rye smile crept onto her lips, he wasn't bad looking actually, but why did he wear those glasses?
'Thats ok.' She said to Mark shrugging and trying not to look at him, he creeped her out, a dead mutant nothing could be worse, she shuddered.
'Cheers.' Cat said, starting to rebuild her self confidence which had taken a serious dent. But under these circumstances so strange to her she could perhaps have been forgiven. She looked the woman in the eye smiling again as she spoke.
'I choose the cozy appartment.' This was proof that if she wished to Cat could be very agreeable on the other hand rub her up the wrong way and she was impossible, you either had the nack of getting along with her or you learnt to.
She glanced back over her shoulder as they left the house wondering what might of happened to her if Rogue hadn't turned up, she realised here that her experiences counted for nothing. She could hold her own amongst her own kind but fighting demons and werebeasts she was at a definate disadvantage.
SEAN
Girlfriend?! Sean thought. She wasn't exactly what he saw as girlfriend material, she was against all his beliefs but for now he wouldn't pursue it, it seemed one of those rare occasions where she was actually being civil to the people around her.
"Sure, we might as well go back to your apartment i guess, nothin else to do in this realm except dodge danger." He said to the Mark with a slight smile.
He turned to face Rouge, already this woman seemed to irritate him, treat him like an inferrior, he just wished he could she her his true potential as a mutant, how much he had advanced.
"Hey, Slayer, I'm sure i could of handled the WereBeast ok, im not sayin i could handle more, but to someone who doesn't have my gifts, your views of our surroundings are small, narrow-minded, there is more here than can be merely seen.
However, i respect your views, just don't treat any of us like children, we all have strengths that i believe you underestimate. When we return to safety, maybe you'll think about that, about how we can help you rather than just being the defenseless lost kids you seem to think we are."
Sean nodded to Rouge as a sign of respect, he didn't want to get on her wrong side, she was obviously a friend, he just needed to point out that they are ableto handle themselves in a situation like this. The only reason Cat feel into such a situation was because she denied the truth, but something told Sean that by the end of this whole episode Cat may admit to herself and embracing the truth for the better.....
CATHERINE
Cat looked from Sean to Rouge and back again, wearing a slight smile though she knew that they were both struggling for contol. Rouge seemed to be used to being in lead or in charge of whatever situation she was in. Sean on the other hand seemed to be a natural leader for the four of them, she wasn't about to give up allegiance for someone who ran around with a stake. Give up allegiance? She thought to herself as she waited for Rouges reply I don't have any allegiance do I? She wasn't sure exactly who she owed more to out of the pair but she knew more about Sean and he was friends with Riley.
Riley!! She realised she hadn't thought about him since she had been thrown though the portal. She regretted being so short with him, he was only being friendly and he had tried to protect her. She wondered what had happened to him, finding herself hoping he was alright, she had never heard someone scream the way he had called out in tortured pain. She suddenly realised she was thinking of mutants as ordinary people, but they wern't were they?
She glanced over at the boy and girl with curiosity, she didn't know either of them but then she didn't know many people at the school. She wondered what it would be like living at the school, a tiny part of her perhaps was curious to know. Maybe it would even be nice to be a mutant they did have those cool powers she though to herself. She had seen pictures on the news of a man with fire blasting from the palm of his hand. But she wasn't a mutant she didn't have any powers like that.
CLAY
Clay let out a breath he didn't know he had been holding. Thank God everyone was alright, especially little Dawn. He had been worried, especially since his own mutant powers weren't really valid against any sort of demons, vampires and werebeasts. In other words he was useless in this world. Despite being what tiny Tessa had called, "Freakishly tall" he was lanky and not the greatest in a fight.
He'd have to rely on the others and on this Slayer and that was the part that worried him. He was a trusting person but Clay had always preferred to actually know someone rather than follow blindly. He had known this slayer for all of ten minutes and although he was indebted to her and Mark for saving their lives he wasn't ready to trust her with his life again.
"Well We'd be better off with someone who knows where they're going and without werebeasts," Clay said unnecessisarily as he followed the group. "Everyone's alright right?" he asked, out of genuine concern and to break the silence.
JENNIFER
Rogue:"You're just like all the other super-powered mortals, bunch of toughies, that's why you're in so much danger."
It was all she said as she moved passed him and lead the way towards her apartment. Of course she had an idea he was powerful, didn't take a genious to figure out hover-boy had a handy gift. Why did people instantly think fighting was the only way to survive these situations?
MARK
Mark frowned as Rogue walked a little ahead, he knew the reason why she was so angry, so harsh and so keen to protecting these people.
Mark:"It's not the fact she thinks you're helpless."
He said replying to Sean's statement of her treating them as kids.
Mark:"It's the fact you're alive."
He frowned slightly as he thought how exactly to place these words without revealing too much personal information about his friend, but it was hard, he knew if he could just tell them, they'd all understand, but he couldn't...
Mark:"She just's wants to make sure you stay that way."
After all, Rogue blamed herself for bringing Angelus back, she was convinced it was her fault that the sun was stolen, her best friends, both killed by her ex's, Willow sired by Spike and himself killed by Angelus, how could anyone blame her for being so closed to people and their feelings.
Mark:"Trust me, being a human here isn't safe, for time there was a group of mutants that fought the vampires, but they where mostly killed, those left of the school call themselves the Exiles now. There are other groups we've encountered, but they stay low."
He realized he was babbling on, an annoying habit that he couldn't help, he changed topic onto something else less unhappy as they walked the dark streets.
Mark:"Uh..so...Where exactly are you from?"
He asked eyeing each of the different students curiously.
CATHERINE
Cat looked at Mark as she walked next to Sean, determined that she wasn't leaving the mutant's side till she was back to the school for gifted youngsters.
'I'm from Washington DC.' she said tryign not to stare at him, wondering what it must be like to be dead, she shivered glad that the others were here. She didn't like the idea of mutants killed, if their powers were no good then how was she, a normal girl to survive here. Her already low spirits sank further as she walked, it looked even more like she wasn't going to get home. If anyone died out of the group of them it seemed most likley it would be her.
JENNIFER & DAWN
Rogue:"Mark you knuckle head!"
She snapped over at her dead friend.
Rogue:"No one is going to die."
She said in a very serious tone, and glancing over the students. She hated it when people always had to talk about death, wasn't there enough of that around without having to talk about it as well?
Rogue:"The Councils Appartments are just a few blocks away."
Dawn:"Oh, you have Watchers here as well?"
The young Dawn asked with a grin, which faded rapidly.
Dawn:"I mean..I've read about Slayers, I heard they had watchers, like a top secret..uh..supernatural..ah...organistion."
She managed to stutter nervously
Rogue:"..Well...I wouldn't say they are a secret any more...but they own the building we live in, so hurry, before the vamps decide it's snack time."
Dawn clung to Clay's arm as she followed, not only was she wet, she was scared, homesick and walking the streets with a sister that didn't recognise her....needless to say, Dawn was confused and just wanted to go home.
CATHERINE
Cat was quickly recovering from her initial shock, and now she was growing curious about this new world, dimension, realm where ever the hell she was. She also sensed that perhaps she should jump in before Sean and Rouge got into a full blown row.
'So where is this place?' She said looking at Rogue questioningly. Slipping her arms into Rogues jacket, it was a little big but kept the worst of the rain off her. 'And are there any normal humans? Do you know of a way we can get back?' She added after a pause, asking the question that all of them must be thinking.
SEAN
Sean listened quietly as Rouge and Dawn went on about Vampires and 'watchers', whatever they were. He still wasn't happy about the way the mutants were being treated, they could handle themselves, he knew they could, she just had to have faith in them.
He looked down at Cat and smiled, she seemed to have forgotten what a 'monster' he was, how he wasn't there to hurt her, but he couldn't help noticing her interest in his galsses. She kept glancing at them as they walked but he chose not to say anything, he didn't want to risk the younger girl freaking out on them, at least until they were safely at this 'coucil apartment'.
"If you are to meet with this council i believe we should be present too. We should know what is happening and what is going to happen to us. I assume you won't deny us that right?" Sean said to Rouge, he could sense her annoyance with him most of the time, but he wouldn't allow her the privilige of sounding those annoyances, he was just doing what anyone would do in their situation. He wanted to help him and his friends return where they should be and if that irritated the slayer then she would just have to cope.....
Re: City Streets and Buildings - Home with a Dinner Guest!
CLAY
(OOC: That was the earliest point. It's cause we're in different timezones that I haven't posted earlier.)
Aisha Munroe walked along the streets leading to the nearby graveyard, a cloud of rain above her head. She really was under the weather. Literally. While soaking(also literally) in her pity and anger Aisha felt a sharp pain in her head and the touching of minds she occationally felt when Drian had a vision. His premonitions occationally reached out to her through their close bond and they did now along with a voice.
She recieved just one brief flash of Rogue in a graveyard. Aisha remembered the slayer since they'd had their own run ins once or twice. She also instinctively knew that the graveyard was nearby and that she was suposed to be there. A message had been sent.
The voice came next, detached and distant but in pain. Rayne! It was Prometheus' voice. He was in pain and for a moment she turned to go to him. Duty called though and she knew that the voice and image had been a message. Besides she had lost one today. She wasn't going to let anyone else get hurt.
Aisha veered over to the graveyard and entered quietly, usuing mist and fog to mask her and keep her hidden while she crept up nearby. Aisha was unsure of just how she should go about things but finally decided she'd just improvise, like in grade 1 school play.
"Slayer," Rayne said with a nod in greeting as she stepped out of the mists. "Sorry to intrude but Promo saw something, there's people and they're in danger, not suposed to be here," the mutant girl said, knowing it was true although she wasn't sure when the information had come to her.
"If you need any help they can stay with us for awhile. I'm Rayne by the way," Aisha finished, glancing over at the group.
Clay looked curiously but politely back at her and turned towards Rogue and the others. He wondered if they knew this girl and what they would say in response.
CATHERINE
Cat heard the girl coming a second before the others, her slightly heightened senses hearing the sound of footsteps. She turned her head sharply wondering who it was, but Rogue's body language told her that this new girl was no threat to her. The girl introduced herself as Rayne, Cat nodded to her pulling the leater jacket closer around her to protect herself from the rain which was slanting down upon them. There was a rising wind which howled through the nearby trees, Cat found herself shivering but not from the cold, she hoped that the appartment wasn't far.
JENNIFER
Rogue:"I think I want to keep an eye on them for now, you're welcome to come with us, we're heading for the Council appartments."
She placed her hands on her hips as she looked back.
Rogue:"Rayne, this is Sean, uh...Cat....and sorry guys, didn't catch your names."
She said apologeticly to Dawn and Clay
Rogue:"She's from one of the groups of mutants Mark was telling you about."
Obviously these people where edgy around others they didn't know, she looked over at Sean.
Rogue:"Another toughie."
She said with a slight grin, informing him that she was a mutant, the Slayer looked back at Rayne and folded her arms.
Rogue:"Cheer up will ya, we're getting soaked! Besides, looks like we're in an unusual state, Angelus, Spike and Dru all seem to have left Lost Angels, Willow's still about but, why would the three most feared vamps leave town?"
She asked the other girl curiously.
Rogue:"And most importantly, how do we get these guys back to where they belong?"
The last question was more to herself and Mark then the others, she frowned as she looked away from the group, sensing the stir of demons in the distance,
Rogue:"Alright, how about we hold the chit-chat till we get back home."
With that said, Mark gave Rayne a grin as if saying nice to see you again, and Rogue lead the way into a nearby apartment.
