you guys should check out the one I am building...it is one of those 10/22 conversions...now if I could only find a place that carries aluminum tubing
Re: Cliff's real MG-34 - DLT19 Sandtrooper Blaster
YES, to me, out of the Sterling, the MG-15, the Lewis, and this MG-34, the MG-34 is the worst to carry. Its weight, and its shape (somewhat pointy edges) are the main reasons.
Re: Cliff's real MG-34 - DLT19 Sandtrooper Blaster
I was lucky enough to finnally see a real mg-34 this past weekend at Dragon Con. Someone dropped one off by richies-armor table. And yep I held it only for a few seconds cuz that mother was soooooo heavy. I couldn't image being a real infantry person walking around with that thing. Now i know why they need a tripod.
If know one ever makes one that we could carrie around that's really light. then I think i'm gonna give it shot and try to make one and see what i could come across.
That is super cool, it's my favorite. But yes it is very heavy. It has a thick extra heavy barrel for high rate of fire, and was made to be rapidly changed when it got too hot. It has a little pivot at the base so that you can take it out with out tools. This makes it much lighter, and easier to carry (will still scratch up your suit though). Do scratches matter on a sand trooper or do they add realism? Hmmm.....
By the way Cliff your suit is awesome, and great knee piece!
