Re: Coil bootlegs
I don't think any such list has been compiled: the official discographies do not encompass bootlegs. Of studio material, the 'Backwards' demos and the unofficial 'Songs of the Week' have been circulated for some time.
As for live, there have obviously been many recordings made during the Coil live renaissance of the past few years. The 'Live In New York' (2001) was widely marketed, but there are many others recorded in Europe: the Netherlands and Germany spring to mind. Some of these recordings are supposedly better than the official Live series, which has variable recording quality. Personally, I can't quite see the appeal of hearing muddy renditions of 'Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil' over and over again, when the studio recording does it much better. Actually, I was at the original 'Constant Shallowness...' concert (Royal Festival Hall, 19.9.00): I don't know if that was recorded or not.
Re: Coil bootlegs
Yes, it was recorded, cos I have this one.
I think that nearly every one of Coil live performances was recorded cos I have pretty much of those live shows - according to the live section on Brainwashed I have above half of them.
I can recommend you really great gig from St. John's church in Gdansk, Poland - the best versions of "A Warning From The Sun", "Amethyst Deceivers" and "Ostia" I've heard. Great sound quality too.
But I was thinking about some studio bootlegs - "Love's Secret Demise" demos and so. How much are of those?
demoNs
only heard the "scatology" & "backwards" demos, as well as "love's secret demise" & "acid jam" tentative ep - another circulating item of interest is "black gold", a double cd compilation of rare & unreleased tracks.
