RAYNE
Rayne nodded.
"Okay, I don't think Prometheus would mind that much. Besides he's not the all so fearless leader at the moment if I'm right," she said. "I'll be back in a bit Rogue," the mutant added as she headed out.
(OOC-Hey Angie is it possible to have Prometheus deliberately try and get her sent over to the other world when he learns of it so he can protect her. Sort of a brotherly caring thing? If you have an idea about how this could work out that would be great since I don't know exactly what you had planned. If it isn't possible then don't worry about it though.)
Clay also nodded over at Rogue. "Sure I'll come along with you," he said agreeably.
DAWN
(ooc-Sure, he has visions right? Mark can come across someone in trouble as he is returning, goes to help them, get's sent across, Prometheus could know this and send her to where the attack will take place knowing she'll be hit by the orb that will teleport her to the other dimension, or, you could have an NCP teleport her into the other dimension, I'd give you permission for that)
Dawn fidgetted nervously for a moment, but since Clay was going, she might as well go, but she didn't like the council, they where always so snobbish.
Dawn:"I-I..sure."
She stuttered nervously but tried to looked as if she was 100% ok with this decision. Atleast with everything going on, Sean's spirits seemed lifted at the chance of using his eyes in a normal fashion. Which in a sense kinda made her feel much beter about being here, she hadn't seem Summers smile like that since...well...ever.
SEAN
Sean took his coco and slowly sat down, he had the strangest feeling, his eyes, they felt differently and he knew why. He looked over at Rogue and smiled slightly as he heard Cat agree to the plan;
"I'm in, i'm sure i can be of some help to you Slayer, but i don't think these are goin to be in workin order." He said tapping at his tinted glasses. He wanted to try and remove them, but it felt unnatural, he had lived with these glasses for just over ten years now, and he was nervous about attempting to see without them.
Somehow though he knew that while he was here at somepoint something was going to make him take the glasses off, he just didn't no what yet.
He slowlly downed the dregs of his coco mug, the warm liquid slipping down his throat. He lowered the mug to a table next to him and awaited Rogues answer.....
CATHERINE
Cat looked over at Sean wondering for the first time what colour his eyes were, thinking how awful it must be not to be able to see the world through your own eyes. For a moment she sat pittying him.
She almost laughed out loud when he said he'd come to the bar, that 'mummys boy' in a bar, she didn't think so, he wouldn't last five minutes. She didn't think he seemed to be a rule breaker, she wondered what sort of a life he had had being brought up in that school, but her thoughts were directed in anger or belittlement only in amusement. This was going to be very interesting, his eyes twinkled as she took another sip of coco.
JENNIFER
Well...everyone seemed fine with going, Rogue wasn't sure if that made her more comfortable or nervous..
Rogue:"Great.."
She said with a nod of her head, though her word had no emotion in it, for some reason, she was dreading this assignment.
Rogue:"If you're a guy, tell anyone who asks that you're owned by Drusilla, if you're a girl, tell them you're owned by Angelus, they should leave you alone."
She finished off her chocolate and placed the mug down.
Rogue:"Don't looke a demon in the eye, even when they are speaking to you, don't talk to them if they are yelling at you from a distance, it shows poor upbringing and they might think you're wild humans."
Logan:"Also, if you're attacked, run first, regroup..."
Rogue:"..and kill later."
The watcher looked ver towards his slayer with a slight hesitation,
Logan:"..Well..."
He began, but decided he didn't want to bother giving lectures right now and left it at that.
Logan:"I'm sure any help you can give us would be greatly welcomed."
He responded to Sean's statement that his eyes wont be of help.
Rogue:"Yeah, that's cool, 'sides, I figure you have other tricks, I'm counting on you to try and old off on the killing things though."
Logan smiled as if pleased with that statement.
Rogue:"Only attack if I give the signal...signal will be me punching someone."
Logan's smile faded instantly and he gave out a sigh as he moved over and grabbed an old book from the kitchen bench.
Rogue:"So, we all ready to go?"
She asked as she stood up.
CATHERINE
Cat felt a sudden something flush through her as she stood up, adrenalin, knowing she was putting her life on the line again. There was excitment mixed with fear, the feeling you got when you walked down a dark alley by yourself, the feeling that chased down your spine. She did that sometimes just for the thrill of it, but not so much since she ran into that group of boys. She could still feel the cold steel of a blade pressed against her throat where her life blood pumped close to the surface.
She took the hair tie from her wrist and pulled her hair back into a high pony tail, smiling at Rogue as she did so.
'There I'm ready.' Cat might have been a rebbel but she knew when to follow orders. This world was no game and these were not people she could go up against alone. She knew some self defense, you had to if you spent time on the backstreets of Washington. But would that be enough to keep her alive? She wished that she had some power suddenly, something ... anything that could help her.
CLAY
Clay looked a little hesitant as he said, "Okay I understand everything but owned? I'm owned by this Drucilla person? I don't understand. Who is she?"
LOGAN
Logan:"To put it simply.."
Rogue:"They're farmers, we're their live stock, they eat us, trade us, and order us about, one of their live stock is stolen or killed, there's hell to pay."
Logn:"..Or blantly."
He finished with a disapproving tone for how she had handled that.
Rogue:"Look, we're Run aways, I'm safer then most run aways because I'm the slayer, anyone who's come to try and take me back doesn't normaly have a happy ending, so they leave me alone most of the time. But it isn't rare for me to be seen with property of Angelus and Dru, they're still innocents in all this and I still have a job to protect them from anyone who means them harm out in the streets."
She moved towards a wooden box beside the door, opening it she pulls out a bag, then closes the box and swings the carry bag over her shoulder.
Rogue:"Alright, I'm packed and ready to go, once you're done at the council we'll meet you in the City park."
Logan:"..Why not back here?"
Rogue:"Because I told you I'm meeting a potential Slayer in the park, her watcher was killed and I said she can crash here for the night so the council has time to get her another watcher, can't leave her out there on her own, she's just in from Australia."
Logan:"That's right, I'll talk with the council while I'm down there."
With a deep breath, Rogue looked over towards Cat and Sean.
Rogue:"Any other questions before we leave?"
Logan tucked his book under his arm and moved towards the door as well, looking back to see if the students assigned to him had any questions as well.
SEAN
Sean looked over at Rogue, moving closer to her, he knew that Cat was looking at him with an odd stare, but he chose to ignore it;
"I think i'm ready, one quick thing though, will these glasses draw attention to me. Theres a very likely chance that I won't need them while i'm here because of the whole no sun thing. I'd like to take them off, but i need to do it somewhere incase i do still have this mutation. If however it won't draw attention to me, i'll just leave them."
Sean asked seriously, he didn't want to draw any unwanted attention to himself while he was here.....
CLAY
Clay looked over at Logan but he had no questions and simply said, "I think I'm ready to go, I guess I understand now."
What Clay didn't mention was how this world disturbed him. It was so unlike his own, so primitive and horrid with vampires actually owning people. It did however give him perspective. He had heard terrible tales of mutant experiments but compared to this, to actually living your entire life as someone's property how bad was it really?
He tried to put the thoughts out of his head though, to save them for when he got back to his own world. Now wasn't the time to think of such things for already it was making him nauseus.
"So we're heading out then and meeting up later," Clay said, simply for sake of conversation.
CATHERINE
Cat could have skipped upon the spot, a bar, they were actualy going to a bar, a bar hopefully full of normal people.
She hoped that Sean could take his glasses off, she was curious to see what his eyes were like beind those dark lenses. What was the point in such a mutation she wondered, not knowing of his visor at home which made his gift so deadly.
DAWN
Dawn was just glade she was partnered with Clay, no offence to the other guys but at at least she was more familure with Clay, Sean wasn't the comfy up with type of guy and Cat...the potential slayer wondered if Cat was aware her sister only ever went to demon bars..?
Dawn:"..Uh..Cat."
She began quietly whispering to the girl
Dawn:"Be careful...."
She found herself unable to inform the girl, she seemed awefully cheery and she hadn't been this happy since..well...since obviously before she arrived to the institute!
Dawn:"I'm ready!"
She called out as the Watcher left the apartment and walked down the halls, Dawn hurried after him.
Rogue:"People don't really wear sunglasses any more.."
She began slowly.
Rogue:"But we can stop off somewhere on the way to the bar, somewhere safe so you can take them off and see what happens, that cool with you?"
CATHERINE
Cat looked at the other girl, wondering why she seemed so nervous all of a sudden. It was the first time she had spoken to the girl and she wondered if this was the same Dawn Riley had been talking about. She looked the type of girl who went to malls. Cat wasn't sure what to say back to her, she wasn't used to girls like Dawn speaking to her or when they did having anything nice to say. When she had been at school it was girls like Dawn who had had helped transform her into who she was.
When she had come from England, they had picked up on her strange accent, still emotionally crushed at loosing her parents she was an easy target for their tauntings. But it was the way that they acted which had caused Jon and Bekki, Brad and Nina to rally up in support of her. The five had been firm friends since then, but their influence had turned her into the headstrong girl she was now. Now she wasn't sure what to say to a girl like that who had trying to talk nicley with her,
'I will.' Those were the only words she found to say. She looked over at Sean realising for the first time that she liked him, he had been kind to her ever since she had come here, after they had been thrown into that portal. She just wished there was a way she could repay his kindness. She didn't mind Sean's stand offish attitude, she didn't like to feel smothered by people. She just got the feeling that he was someone she could rely upon. For the first time she found herself over looking the fact that he was a mutant, with him it didn't seem to matter anymore.
Riley had been right You know the trick is, you don't focus on what they look like, but how they treat you. She hadn't belived him back then, such a few short hours ago, and perhaps if this hadn't all happened she wouldn't have given his words another thought. But here she needed someone to depend on and Sean was turning out to be that person, she would rather it had been Riley who had been thrown through the vortex. Though had she known what Riley was she might have changed her mind, as it was she was ignorant of who he was.
She realised the others were waiting for her and she hurried to catch up with them.
SEAN
Sean watched as Dawn talked to Cat, it was getting more and more obvious that this new girl was settling in, whether she liked it or not.
He quickly caught Dawn's eye and smiled, he hadn't talked to her much, but he always wanted to. Something about Dawn had always appealed to Sean, she was a kind and generous person, but until now there paths had never really crossed.
He turned back to Rogue and Cat as they stood from there places in the dark room;
"That would be great if there is a place that i can take these off Rogue, I don't want to draw anymore attention to us, be best if we can get home with little fuss.".....
CATHERINE
Cat streatched, her muscles pulling under her sleek golden skin. If she had wanted to hone her powers she would still have alot of hard work to tone her muscles and build up her strength. There was only so far speed and agility could go if your body wasn't fit and healthy. She kept her figure but it had been ages since she had been running, her muscles were beginning to get lazy. Not that there were many areas in down town Washington she wanted to jog.
If she would have admitted it she was homesick, missing the crowded streets of Washington where a thousand people would look at you and none of them remember you. People you would probably never see again and you wouldn't be able to pick them out from a crowd even if you did. In Washington could could be invisible in broad daylight, and if you knew where you were going you could loose anyone in a matter of moments.
She also missed the cramped down town flat they had lived in, the damp which persisted in creeping through above the front door, no matter what Roger did to try and stop it. The hard sofa she used to lie on and watch day time television while Anne was out getting her hair 'tinted' as she put it. She was a brunett and a tint for her was a complete dying of her hair blonde. As soon as Anne came home Cat would retire to her own small room.
You had to open the door as far as you could and then somehow wriggle through into her room. Her room she supposed at one point had been some kind of closet it was that tiny. There was a bed and at the foot of it a wadrobe (which was the cause of the door not opening properly) and that was all the space. There was a narrow strip between the bed and the far wall and above this were several rows of shelves which housed Cat's pride and joy, her steryo system and extensive collection of CD's. Anne had bought her large headphones after the noise of heavy music had driven her almost to the point of distraction and the neighbours had hammered on the walls complaining.
She didn't miss Sean's smile, raising one curved eyebrow slightly, luckily he didn't seem to notice. Is there something between them? she wondered looking at Dawn out of one eye to see the girls reaction a slight unbidden smile upon her lips.
Since the jon 'incident' she had decided to stay clear of men, still upset with him over what had happened and furious with herself. If Bekki ever found out .... well she dreaded to think. She just tried to keep out of his way which wasn't easy when you saw someone every day. She was ashamed for the both of them, he might be able to go behind Bekki's back and not care but everytime she saw Bekki she felt awful, not knowing what to do.
She didn't remember much about that night, she knew the others had cancled on them, she remembered that her and Jon had decided to go to a night club without them. They had started on southern comfort and lemonade, next it had been vodka, it was from then in that her memory had become a little more hazy. She distincly remembered them doing Tequila, by the time the club kicked out in the early hours of the morning she was hardly able to walk in a straight line, she remembered the cold air hitting her face, feeling sick, Jon's strong arms supporting her as. He hadn't been that drunk, he had called a taxi, she knew that, the yellow had hurt her eyes. Had he kissed her first or had she kissed him? She wasn't sure about that. She knew she had been attracted to him, but she wasn't the kind of person to make the first move, but then Cat was alot brasher under the influence. The last thing she remembered were his hand's in her hair and his lips on her and then a thick gunky black fog.
She had woken up very suddenly in the early dawn, not sure what had disturbed her, eyes snapping open, wondering where she was. Feeling his chest rise and fall under her head, sitting up, moving away from him. Dressing herself and sitting on a chair watching him, feeling numb, letting it sink it, feeling tears in her eyes suddenly. Tears of shame for herself, of anguish for what she had done to Bekki, of anger towards him. She had left slamming the door to his room so hard that the picture on the wall in the hall outside fell to the floor and broke.
JENNIFER
Rogue watched Logan and the other two disappear out into the halls, the distant echo's of voices and footsteps soon faded and they where alone.
Rogue:"Agreed!"
The slayer said with a nod as she moved for the door, pausing only as she noticed Cat seemed to be off in her own little world.
Rogue:"Hey, Cat, wakey, we're leaving, close the door behind you."
With that, she hurried out of the apartment and made her way to the only place that she could think of to test these destructive eyes of Seans.
