Councils Privet Apartments - Slayer's Lair
JENNIFER

Their footsteps echoed faintly in the stairways as they walked up a few floors, once they walked down a short corridor, the slayer reached out and opened an unlocked door.

Mark:"Wait, you better not enter yet."

He warned as the mutants moved to follow Rogue into the apartment.

Rogue:"Oh..uh, yeah, sorry, we invite you all in."

As she said that a sparkle of blue light fizzled about the doorway for a moment.

Rogue:"Can't be too careful, and doorlocks are so primitive."

Mark looked over at them as he walked threw the wall, appearing in the room moments later, there was a clanking in the kitchen and then a yelled fowllowed shortly after.

Logan:"Who's there? Rogue!?"

Rogue:"Yeah Yeah...we got company!"

LOGAN

Placing down the frying pan the Watcher stood from where he was hiding behind the counter, well...he wasn't hiding, but he couldn't be seen as he was searching ofr some decent cooking pans.

Logan:"Uh..well, who are they?"

Rogue:"That's what we're getting to."

He moved over to the group as Rogue took a seat on the couch, instantly the watcher realized they whree cold and damp.

Logan:"For goodness sake Jennifer, can't you atleast offer them some dry clothes?"

He disappeared out the back of the room before returning shortly later with some warm jumpers and blankets.

Logan:"Ladies.."

He handed the girls the warm jumpers and blankets first before handing the rest to Sean and Clay. The walls of the apartment where covered in bookshelves and overloaded with books, all of them based on the supernatural.

Rogue:"Alright, so, how about we start with names and where you are from, and I don't mean Washington or such, because no one from this world has tans like that!"

She said taking note of Cat's beachfront coloured skin, obviously this was a girl who had spent much of her days in the past down at a beach.

CATHERINE

Cat shrugged off the leather jacket, draping it over the arm of a chair to dry, gratefully accepting the blanket with a smile, she slipped the stone coloured jumper over her wet top. Pulling the blanket close around her shoulders she wished she could have taken a bath but then there were more important things to attend to at the moment, like where on earth were they? Cat looked rather grumpy as she was informed that she didn't come from Washington.

'Well then I'm not from this world.' She said through her teeth 'I know where I live you know and I live in Washington DC, I just spend alot of time down the beach, the sun tends to tan people you know.' She said rasing on eye brow at the girl.

JENNIFER

Rogue looked over at Cat after she got annoyed with her

Rogue:"Not what I ment, I mean, there's no way you're from *our* Washington DC, because no humans survived in any of the major cities, most of that area was totally destroyed. And the reason I commented on your tan.."

Mark interupted fearing Rogue was going to start going on about how she destroyed the world as we all knew it years ago.

Mark:"There was an accident-"

Rogue:"Which could have been stopped from ever happening."

She mumbled as Mark ignored her and continued.

Mark:"And because of this accident, Angelus was released from his..uh..prison, we tried to stop him, and we thought we did, sent him ot hell and everything."

Rogue:"Only his pals, Spike and Drusilla decided they wanted to call him back."

Mark:"He was so mad, he blacked out the sun...we haven't seen the sun in years."

Rogue:"So, it's rare to see someone with tans walking about the street.."

She finished up.

Rogue:"Didn't mean to say you didn't know where you're from or anything, just that, you're not from around here, that's for sure."

Logan:"So, if they're not from around here.."

Rogue:"The vamps must have brought them from another dimension or something.."

Mark:"But why.."

Rogue:"More importantly, how do we get these guys home, and the vamps back here."

The slayer looked over at Rayne curiously.

Rogue:"Alright, do we know any dimension traveling mutants by any chance?"

Mark:"Or demons..?"

Logan:"If we knew where they came from exactly, we could open a portal."

Rogue looked over at Sean and the others, folding her arms as she sat back

Rogue:"Alright, whatever happens, looks like you'll be here for atleast a few days while we figure out what's going on."

Mark:"Someone should visit Willow, she hangs with big bads so maybe she knows what they are up to.."

The slayer gave a groan as if that was one of the last things she wanted to do.

Rogue:"So, what are all you're talents?"

She asked curiously.

Rogue:"Me, I can't shoot blasts of fire or freeze rooms, I'm just really quick and strong plus some other handy little bonuses. But so you all know, I'm not a mutant, all my gifts are passed on to me by supernatural means so...I'm basicly human."

Basicly meaning...if she didn't have any demonic blood in her vains, she'd be 100% human, but these strangers didn't need to know about her shameful secret, they had more important things to worry about.

SEAN

Sean watched as the three from this universe spoke to each other about reopening portals and such. He did admire them, they had lived in this hell-like land for many years and survived and it was admirable.

He looked over at Cat as she wrapped herself in the blanket
and managed to get a slight arguement about what town she comes from which made Sean smile. He grabbed a blanket himself and began to wipe some of the excess water from his clothing and the drops of rain that had hit and settled on his glasses.

Sean saw as Rouge turned back to them all and addressed them curiously about their powers and talked about her 'gifts' as the slayer.

"Well, whatever added extras you have gotten from the supernatural it has definately made you strong, to survive in a place like this must be hard.

I myself have a number of powers due to my mutant parentage. My strongest power; Telekinesis, which is why some of my friends call me Kinesis. I can move, control and manipulate things with my mind, and it is strong, i have learned from a young age to use it. With this i have some psychic abilities, although these are still developing through teachings back home and so they still aren't the strongest they could be, it is my weaker gift. The last little something i was given was the power of optical lasers, hence these glasses. Without these when i open my eyes a wave of strong red laser pours from them destroying or damaging most things in its path, and unfortunately without my visor which is back at school i cannot control it, these glasses are to protect others from this gift that is uncontrolable on it's own." Sean spoke matter-of-factly but with a hint of graciousness.

He didn't like to flaunt his abilities but he understood why the others must know of them. He watched as he saw how people who didn't know reacted to him. Especially Cat, who didn't know much about his abilites.....

RAYN

Rayne looked closely at Jennifer for a moment. With the help of Prometheus and having gone up against the complusive lier of a mutant who called himself Soothsayer she could tell when someone wasn't being entirely honest. Still she had been invited into their home and only wanted to help. She had no right to call the slayer on anything.

"I'm Rayne, my friends call me Aisha. I'm Aisha Munroe fully, daughter of Ororo Munroe, Storm," Aisha said, wondering if these mutants had a Storm in their world. It was pretty obvious they weren't from around here and perhaps their world of tans included Storm.

"My power, if you hadn't already guessed is Pathetic fallacy," Rayne continued and as she said this the rain outside lightened greatly as her mood had once she had been invited in.

"I can't totally control the weather but it mirrors my emotions and I've learning to control my emotions so that I'll be able to control the weather like my mother," she said, both proud and sad at the thought of her mother.

Clay interrupted her thoughts as he said, "I'm Clayton Winters but you can call me Clay. I'm called Zippo 'cause my power is nullification, which means I can cancel out mutant abilities and some forms of magic."

His mind was elsewhere and despite having listened to Rayne talk earlier he hadn't taken in her comments about Storm fully. The pair waited for the others to introduce themselves and were lost in their own thoughts, Aisha's of Prometheus and her mother while Clay thought of Tessa.

DAWN

Dawn:"I'm...a spell caster...kinda."

Logan:"Spell Caster?"

He asked with curiousity, most witches of this time worked for the Eternal Moon, all the white witches mostly destroyed or switched sides years ago.

Dawn:"I'm just...uh...like Rogue, you know..kinda strong, kinda good reflexes, I'm a good runner aswell."

Dawn frowned, her thoughts as well distant but not for what she's left behind back at home...for Sean..

The girl looked over towards the son of Scott Summers, she knew all about Scott's powers, her and Reily talked about the X-Men for a while, often discussion what'd be like to have control of powers as awesome as theirs.

But one thing stuck in her mind..

Dawn:"..Sean.."

She began in an attempt to catch his attention.

Dawn:"Don't you're optic blasts gain their power from the sun?"

Her question was, although directed at him, spoken down towards the floor, an obvious sign of embarressment incase she was wrong.

Dawn:"I-I mean...without sunlight to power the optic blasts.."

She trailed off, allowing him to figure out what she was trying to say by himself.

CATHERINE

Cat paled slightly, clutching the blanket closer around her, she felt like she was going crazy, vortex's, werebeasts and now mutant powers, she wasn't sure she could handle all this in one day. She could feel the beginning of a headache throbbing behind her eyes, she put her hands upto her temples pressing her fingers against her head in an attempt to sooth the pain.

She glanced across at Sean as Dawn spoke, her eyes trained wairly upon his face and what might lie behind those glasses. She looked around her, taking in the appartment, trying to keep her mind off the thudding pain in her head.

She didn't meet Rogue's eye as the woman looked across at her, as if expecting her to come up with some power she was possessed with. Well she didn't have any and all she wanted was to go home, realising that home was earth, she didn't care where on earth, but somewhere that it was not always dark and cold. She felt as though if she didn't belive that they would get home that she was going to go crazy.

'Do you have a shower and a room I can lie down in?' She asked Rogue, her voice quiet. She found herself shaking again despite the blanket, her head was spinning, not realising it was shock she was surrfering from. To the others being thrown through a portal wasn't as bad as for Cat who had a hard time accepting mutants let alone all the other strange beasts in this world. Her body protested as much as her head and being caught out in the rain just made her feel worse.

JENNIFER

Taking her eyes away from Sean the Slayer gave a small nod over towards Cat.

Rogue:"Uh, sure, just down the hall back there, to the left is the bathroom, to the right are the bedrooms, you can use mine, once you go right it's straight ahead."

This girl was definatly uncomfortable with everything going on, though Rogue couldn't really blame her..

CATHERINE

Cat left the room quickly, not looking back as she shut the door of the room, glad to have a barrier of sorts between her and 'them.' She raised a hand to press against her temple again, giving her some relife from the drilling pain.

She found the shower room and reaching out with one hand turned the water on. She shugged off her wet clothes, leaving them in a discarded pile on the floor. Glancing back at the door she stepped over to it and pulled the lock across feeling slightly more at ease. There was a large mirror over the sink. She stepped over to it, looking into the large brown eyes that stared back at her, fear reflected in their depths. Bedraggled hair framed her face, she stood staring almost transfixed untill the cloud of steam from the hot water clouded up the glass, obscuring her features.

She turned with a sigh and slipped under the water, gritting her teeth as she did so, feeling the scortching water pelt down upon her bare skin. Her skin smarted where she had bruised herself, she closed her eyes, willing the pain beind her eyes go receed. She was more than happy to let the others discuss things without her, she didn't want to understand this strange world, she only wanted to return home.

Cat turned off the water, standing lost in thought for a moment, wondering if anyone was missing her, her friends didn't even know where she was, Anne and Roger had made their sentiments perfectly clear. She grabbed a towel from a nearby rail, drying herself for some reason angry that no one would miss her.

She wrapped the towel close around her, picking up the blanket and her wet clothes she unlocked the door. Following the directions the slayer had given her, listening to the murmur of voices from the room the others were in.

The room was dark, she made no effot to turn on the light but dropped at once onto the bed, pulling the blanket over her, closing her eyes and letting her muscles relax for the first time since she had been thrown through the portal. She realised just how tense her body had been, as she let her thoughts wander far from the dark room. Her eyes closed, chest rythmically rising and falling as the girl slept.

RAYNE
Rayne sighed as she looked at the group. None of them seemed to overly need her and it wasn't like there was a shortage of rain here. If they had cared more or needed more help she would have stayed but as it was it seemed they were under the Slayer's lead and she was far more capable anyway. After all Rayne had lost someone earlier that day, why should she be the leader?

"Listen doesn't really look like you're in dire need and I kind of have something to do," Aisha began as her imagination, or was it an image from her connection to him?, conjured up an image of Drian lying in pain on his floor, or worse in a gutter somewhere. She had felt his pain and despite the way he had acted towards her earlier she knew that she had to go to him.

"If it's okay with you I'll return to home base and come back in a few hours," Aisha said. She kept her gaze on Jennifer, awaiting approval before she left.

SEAN

Sean looked over at Dawn with a slight look of surprise on his face, it had never dawned on him, he was so used to having to wear the protective glasses, even at night wen the sunlight reflected off the moon, but here there was no sun.

"I, I never thought." He stuttered, suddenly his mind awash with thoughts, hopes that he could use his eyes like normal people, a gift many of them took for granted.

"I'm not sure." He started to answer. "It is true that both my father's and my power are controlled by light from the sun, but some of that energy is stored within us, for me to rid myself of these glasses now would surely be dangerous without proper thought. And i couldn't 'loose' the power, it will just be gone for a while, as soon as we return home i will be forced to return these glasses."

He looked at Dawn, a slight smile on his face, in all that had happened she had given him hope, a faint glimmer of happyness while they were stuck in this god forsaken land.

"Thank you." he said sincerely. "Thank you so much." His smile widening. "I don't know if ill ever be able to remove these glasses, even in this world, i have been exposed to it for 19 years, but still the idea makes me happy and thanks to you, even if it is for a short while, i may be able to see like all of you do."

He sat quietly, still looking at Dawn even though she could not physically see his eyes, his smile still remained on his face, even thought their situation was so dire.....

CATHERINE

Cat awoke choaking back a scream, her body damp with sweat. She sat up quickly, her head in her hands her heart racing in her chest as if it would explode. She took deep breaths trying to still her beating heart, attempting to stop her shoulders from shaking. She swung her feet off the side of the bed, listening to the intense silence in the blackness, everyone else must be asleep.

She dressed herself quickly aware she was cold, seeing again her dream, the crunch of the cars into the ground, the sound of metal twsiting, of screams of her own disjointed sobs. She turned quickly and dashed from the room.

She leant against the rim of the toilet feeling the bitter taste of acid in her throat, tears smarting in her eyes. She crumpled into a heap on the floor, pressing her face against the cool linoleum. Was she going crazy? she felt like screaming sometimes.

Picking herself up she switched on the small overhead light above the sink. Not looking at her reflection, she turned on the tap, splashing the cold water on her face, cupping some in her palms and letting it run down her burning throat. It wasn't like she wasn't used to it .... the dreams. But she hadn't had one in so long, she shook her head trying to clear her thoughts.

JENNIFER

In all honesty the Slayer was keen to just ask the girl to stay, but she did seem she had somewhere else to go, even so, Jennifer was still nervous about letting her walk off on her own.

Rogue:"Hurry back when you get the chance, but I have a bad feeling about all this, with Angelus gone, there's going to be serious fights for control going on. I know you probably don't need it, but so we know you get back safely, I want Mark to go with you."

The spirit boy looked nervously over at Rogue, but then decided she was right, and when he thought about it, he didn't want Rayne heading off on her own either.

Mark:"I'd love to keep you company."

He said with a slight shrug and warm smile. Meanwhile Rogue's attention was distracted to the sounds echoing in her room.

Rogue:"Excuse me for a moment."

Was all she said as she stood, giving a nod of her head to Rayne and the others before heading down the hall and disappearing around the corner to where Cat had rushed into the bathroom.

With a gentle tap on the door, Rogue softly called out the girls name.

Rogue:"Cat, are you ok?"

CATHERINE

Cat flintched at the sound of the door, opening her eyes to look at the water swirling away down the drain. She felt weak and shakey, angry at herself, she tried not to let things get to her but when they did it was usually in a big way.

'Yeah I'm fine.' She said. Just peachy her thoughts finnished up angrily. She wished there was someway to stop her dreams, it had been her fault they had died, she thought bitterly. It was her choice to go to that stupid amusement park in the first place.

She turned the tap off and pulled the door open, looking at the slayer outside. The woman looked concerned, Cat shrugged her shoulders in response to the inquiring look.

'Nightmare.' She said in an offhand way. She'd never told anyone about them, there was no point, there was nothing anyone could do.

SEAN
Sean watched as Rouge lightly tapped on the doorway that led to Cat's place of rest. He was concerned for her, she seemed to have fallen alone, she was no longer the in-your-face girl she was, she had withdrawn. Sean walked up to Rogues side and looked at her;

"Hey, is Cat ok?" He said quietly, hoping she would not hear him, he was more worried about her than the others. She seemed to be taking this worse than the rest and he neglect to admit her gifts was making it harder for her to get on with it and fight to return home....

JENNIFER

The girls responce didn't stop Rogue's concern, Sean whispers caught Jennifer's ears, she wasn't sure how to respond.

Rogue:"Nightmares eh?"

She quietly replied, the mere mention of those brought up terrible memories, but the slayer didn't allow herself to focus on them.

Rogue:"Sounds bad."

Looking at Sean beside her, the Slayer then looked over at Cat once more.

Rogue:"Want some warm coco?"

She asked in a more cheery tone.

Rogue:"Nothing like a hot chocolate to sooth the mind, I also have marshmellows, Spike lov-er-left some here...in his last visit."

She could feel Logan's eyes piercing into her back but she did her best to ignore him.

Rogue:"Hey, you're all a good bunch, I just know you have people looking for you right now, I'm going to see you guys get back to your world. Even if I'm going to have to stroll right up to the Mansion and kick vampire-witch butt to get the information we need. You're all going to be alright, I'll make sure of that."

She tried to assure the girl, and anyone else who was paying attention.

CATHERINE

'Cheers.' She said, gald of the offer, it saved her from going back into that room to toss and turn for the next few hours as she thought over her dream. She ran one hand through her loose hair, pushing it from her eyes. She smiled, she couldn't wait to get back, three days was all she had to get through, then Riley would have to uphold his half of his bargin and she would be free.
She followed the two back up the corridor to the room she had left such a short time before, but she wasn't tired anymore. She was always like that after a nightmare, she would stay awake untill she fell asleep where ever she happened to be. That had usually been across a desk at school much to the displeasure of the teachers.

LOGAN & JENNIFER

Logan heard the offer and went about to making the hot chocolates himself.

Logan:"Yes well, let's hope we can steer clear of any major vampires while we have innocents with us, it's perhapes best if we focus on getting them home."

He warmed up the milk and studied the others that sat in the room, a girl and a boy, both seeming rather silent. The other boy, Sean, seemed like the one in charge.

Logan:"We should head down to the Watchers Council, see if they have any books on how to return them, surely the council has books on portals, we don't really need to involve Willow."

Pouring the hot chocolate milk into seperate mugs he pulled out a bag of marshmellows and plopped one in each.

Logan:"Alright you all, warm drink ought to cheer us all up..."

He handed out the verious mugs to each student, even the ones that didn't ask for it.

Logan:"If you don't feel like it, then it doesn't matter, just leave it and I'll clean up later."

Not wanting to force anyone to drink if they don't want to, he placed most of the onto the table, handing one to Cat with a comforting smile and then heading over to Rogue.

Logan:"Best thing you can do is to drink up and organise our next step, no need to recklessly charge into action."

Rogue:"Why not, works most of the time."

Her grin hinted she was joking, grabbing the mug from her watchers hands as she spoke, he stepped aside as she moved over into the area everyone was sitting.

Logan:"First of all, we should organise groups, some of us go down to the council, the rest go to the bar and see what's known about Angelus and this portal."

Rogue:"I don't like it, I should go there alone, to risky."

Logan:"Which is why I'd feel more at ease if you had company."

It was obvious she was going reply but the watcher put on a serious tone.

Logan:"As your Watcher I have certian responsibilities for your safty Jennifer, please, for pity sake, since we have gifted humans here, we might as well let them help us."

She didn't respond, sipping away at her drink instead, it worried him, her stubboness to accept help, if only he could figure out how to have her open up and become more trusting.

He gave a sigh as he sat a little away from the group, taking a drink from his mug.

Logan:"Perhaps if Sean and Cat go with you, and Dawn and Clay come with me, that way the group is evenly split and that way we can find out what we need to quicker."

Rogue:"Is it safe splitting up, I mean, with the struggle for power that's bound to.."

Logan:"Right now it's our only chance to hurrying this along, the sooner we get these kids back the sooner we have a chance to get Angelus back."

He interupted her as she spoke, but Rogue seemed use to it and just continued to drink.

Rogue:"Alright....but only if they agree to it, because I still say it's risky taking them out."

They looked over towards the others.

Logan:"Of course, we wont force you to do something you don't want to, would you four mind heading out with us? We really need to figure out what's going on, and I hardly think we'll discover the reasons by sitting here drinking hot coco."

Rogue:"Hey...never mock the coco.."

Although her voice was stern, it was obvious she was joking.

CATHERINE

Cat sat down at the kitchen table, instead of over at the couches, she stirred the hot chocolate around in her cup with a spoon, glancing at the two as they spoke, her ears pricking up at the word bar. That sounded much more interesting to her than going to see the watchers whoever they were.

She sipped at the coco, tucking her hair behind her ears, looking up as Rogue spoke, her eyes bright. If Cat loved anything it was bars and nightclubs, places to socialise, to dance and to drink.

'I'll come Rougue.' She said, her spirits lifting for the first time since she had come to Lost Angels, this place might not be as bad as she had origionally thought. She wondered what Rouge meant by a power struggle, but she wasn't sure she wanted to know. She lapsed into wondering what job Riley would get her once they got back, he had promised and somehow she didn't think he would break that promise. That was if they ever got home ....

Re: Councils Privet Apartments - Slayer's Lair
RAYNE

Rayne nodded.
"Okay, I don't think Prometheus would mind that much. Besides he's not the all so fearless leader at the moment if I'm right," she said. "I'll be back in a bit Rogue," the mutant added as she headed out.

(OOC-Hey Angie is it possible to have Prometheus deliberately try and get her sent over to the other world when he learns of it so he can protect her. Sort of a brotherly caring thing? If you have an idea about how this could work out that would be great since I don't know exactly what you had planned. If it isn't possible then don't worry about it though.)

Clay also nodded over at Rogue. "Sure I'll come along with you," he said agreeably.

DAWN

(ooc-Sure, he has visions right? Mark can come across someone in trouble as he is returning, goes to help them, get's sent across, Prometheus could know this and send her to where the attack will take place knowing she'll be hit by the orb that will teleport her to the other dimension, or, you could have an NCP teleport her into the other dimension, I'd give you permission for that)

Dawn fidgetted nervously for a moment, but since Clay was going, she might as well go, but she didn't like the council, they where always so snobbish.

Dawn:"I-I..sure."

She stuttered nervously but tried to looked as if she was 100% ok with this decision. Atleast with everything going on, Sean's spirits seemed lifted at the chance of using his eyes in a normal fashion. Which in a sense kinda made her feel much beter about being here, she hadn't seem Summers smile like that since...well...ever.

SEAN

Sean took his coco and slowly sat down, he had the strangest feeling, his eyes, they felt differently and he knew why. He looked over at Rogue and smiled slightly as he heard Cat agree to the plan;

"I'm in, i'm sure i can be of some help to you Slayer, but i don't think these are goin to be in workin order." He said tapping at his tinted glasses. He wanted to try and remove them, but it felt unnatural, he had lived with these glasses for just over ten years now, and he was nervous about attempting to see without them.

Somehow though he knew that while he was here at somepoint something was going to make him take the glasses off, he just didn't no what yet.

He slowlly downed the dregs of his coco mug, the warm liquid slipping down his throat. He lowered the mug to a table next to him and awaited Rogues answer.....

CATHERINE

Cat looked over at Sean wondering for the first time what colour his eyes were, thinking how awful it must be not to be able to see the world through your own eyes. For a moment she sat pittying him.

She almost laughed out loud when he said he'd come to the bar, that 'mummys boy' in a bar, she didn't think so, he wouldn't last five minutes. She didn't think he seemed to be a rule breaker, she wondered what sort of a life he had had being brought up in that school, but her thoughts were directed in anger or belittlement only in amusement. This was going to be very interesting, his eyes twinkled as she took another sip of coco.

JENNIFER

Well...everyone seemed fine with going, Rogue wasn't sure if that made her more comfortable or nervous..

Rogue:"Great.."

She said with a nod of her head, though her word had no emotion in it, for some reason, she was dreading this assignment.

Rogue:"If you're a guy, tell anyone who asks that you're owned by Drusilla, if you're a girl, tell them you're owned by Angelus, they should leave you alone."

She finished off her chocolate and placed the mug down.

Rogue:"Don't looke a demon in the eye, even when they are speaking to you, don't talk to them if they are yelling at you from a distance, it shows poor upbringing and they might think you're wild humans."

Logan:"Also, if you're attacked, run first, regroup..."

Rogue:"..and kill later."

The watcher looked ver towards his slayer with a slight hesitation,

Logan:"..Well..."

He began, but decided he didn't want to bother giving lectures right now and left it at that.

Logan:"I'm sure any help you can give us would be greatly welcomed."

He responded to Sean's statement that his eyes wont be of help.

Rogue:"Yeah, that's cool, 'sides, I figure you have other tricks, I'm counting on you to try and old off on the killing things though."

Logan smiled as if pleased with that statement.

Rogue:"Only attack if I give the signal...signal will be me punching someone."

Logan's smile faded instantly and he gave out a sigh as he moved over and grabbed an old book from the kitchen bench.

Rogue:"So, we all ready to go?"

She asked as she stood up.

CATHERINE
Cat felt a sudden something flush through her as she stood up, adrenalin, knowing she was putting her life on the line again. There was excitment mixed with fear, the feeling you got when you walked down a dark alley by yourself, the feeling that chased down your spine. She did that sometimes just for the thrill of it, but not so much since she ran into that group of boys. She could still feel the cold steel of a blade pressed against her throat where her life blood pumped close to the surface.

She took the hair tie from her wrist and pulled her hair back into a high pony tail, smiling at Rogue as she did so.

'There I'm ready.' Cat might have been a rebbel but she knew when to follow orders. This world was no game and these were not people she could go up against alone. She knew some self defense, you had to if you spent time on the backstreets of Washington. But would that be enough to keep her alive? She wished that she had some power suddenly, something ... anything that could help her.

CLAY

Clay looked a little hesitant as he said, "Okay I understand everything but owned? I'm owned by this Drucilla person? I don't understand. Who is she?"

LOGAN

Logan:"To put it simply.."

Rogue:"They're farmers, we're their live stock, they eat us, trade us, and order us about, one of their live stock is stolen or killed, there's hell to pay."

Logn:"..Or blantly."

He finished with a disapproving tone for how she had handled that.

Rogue:"Look, we're Run aways, I'm safer then most run aways because I'm the slayer, anyone who's come to try and take me back doesn't normaly have a happy ending, so they leave me alone most of the time. But it isn't rare for me to be seen with property of Angelus and Dru, they're still innocents in all this and I still have a job to protect them from anyone who means them harm out in the streets."

She moved towards a wooden box beside the door, opening it she pulls out a bag, then closes the box and swings the carry bag over her shoulder.

Rogue:"Alright, I'm packed and ready to go, once you're done at the council we'll meet you in the City park."

Logan:"..Why not back here?"

Rogue:"Because I told you I'm meeting a potential Slayer in the park, her watcher was killed and I said she can crash here for the night so the council has time to get her another watcher, can't leave her out there on her own, she's just in from Australia."

Logan:"That's right, I'll talk with the council while I'm down there."

With a deep breath, Rogue looked over towards Cat and Sean.

Rogue:"Any other questions before we leave?"

Logan tucked his book under his arm and moved towards the door as well, looking back to see if the students assigned to him had any questions as well.

SEAN

Sean looked over at Rogue, moving closer to her, he knew that Cat was looking at him with an odd stare, but he chose to ignore it;

"I think i'm ready, one quick thing though, will these glasses draw attention to me. Theres a very likely chance that I won't need them while i'm here because of the whole no sun thing. I'd like to take them off, but i need to do it somewhere incase i do still have this mutation. If however it won't draw attention to me, i'll just leave them."

Sean asked seriously, he didn't want to draw any unwanted attention to himself while he was here.....

CLAY

Clay looked over at Logan but he had no questions and simply said, "I think I'm ready to go, I guess I understand now."

What Clay didn't mention was how this world disturbed him. It was so unlike his own, so primitive and horrid with vampires actually owning people. It did however give him perspective. He had heard terrible tales of mutant experiments but compared to this, to actually living your entire life as someone's property how bad was it really?

He tried to put the thoughts out of his head though, to save them for when he got back to his own world. Now wasn't the time to think of such things for already it was making him nauseus.

"So we're heading out then and meeting up later," Clay said, simply for sake of conversation.

CATHERINE

Cat could have skipped upon the spot, a bar, they were actualy going to a bar, a bar hopefully full of normal people.

She hoped that Sean could take his glasses off, she was curious to see what his eyes were like beind those dark lenses. What was the point in such a mutation she wondered, not knowing of his visor at home which made his gift so deadly.

DAWN

Dawn was just glade she was partnered with Clay, no offence to the other guys but at at least she was more familure with Clay, Sean wasn't the comfy up with type of guy and Cat...the potential slayer wondered if Cat was aware her sister only ever went to demon bars..?

Dawn:"..Uh..Cat."

She began quietly whispering to the girl

Dawn:"Be careful...."

She found herself unable to inform the girl, she seemed awefully cheery and she hadn't been this happy since..well...since obviously before she arrived to the institute!

Dawn:"I'm ready!"

She called out as the Watcher left the apartment and walked down the halls, Dawn hurried after him.

Rogue:"People don't really wear sunglasses any more.."

She began slowly.

Rogue:"But we can stop off somewhere on the way to the bar, somewhere safe so you can take them off and see what happens, that cool with you?"

CATHERINE

Cat looked at the other girl, wondering why she seemed so nervous all of a sudden. It was the first time she had spoken to the girl and she wondered if this was the same Dawn Riley had been talking about. She looked the type of girl who went to malls. Cat wasn't sure what to say back to her, she wasn't used to girls like Dawn speaking to her or when they did having anything nice to say. When she had been at school it was girls like Dawn who had had helped transform her into who she was.

When she had come from England, they had picked up on her strange accent, still emotionally crushed at loosing her parents she was an easy target for their tauntings. But it was the way that they acted which had caused Jon and Bekki, Brad and Nina to rally up in support of her. The five had been firm friends since then, but their influence had turned her into the headstrong girl she was now. Now she wasn't sure what to say to a girl like that who had trying to talk nicley with her,

'I will.' Those were the only words she found to say. She looked over at Sean realising for the first time that she liked him, he had been kind to her ever since she had come here, after they had been thrown into that portal. She just wished there was a way she could repay his kindness. She didn't mind Sean's stand offish attitude, she didn't like to feel smothered by people. She just got the feeling that he was someone she could rely upon. For the first time she found herself over looking the fact that he was a mutant, with him it didn't seem to matter anymore.

Riley had been right You know the trick is, you don't focus on what they look like, but how they treat you. She hadn't belived him back then, such a few short hours ago, and perhaps if this hadn't all happened she wouldn't have given his words another thought. But here she needed someone to depend on and Sean was turning out to be that person, she would rather it had been Riley who had been thrown through the vortex. Though had she known what Riley was she might have changed her mind, as it was she was ignorant of who he was.

She realised the others were waiting for her and she hurried to catch up with them.

SEAN

Sean watched as Dawn talked to Cat, it was getting more and more obvious that this new girl was settling in, whether she liked it or not.

He quickly caught Dawn's eye and smiled, he hadn't talked to her much, but he always wanted to. Something about Dawn had always appealed to Sean, she was a kind and generous person, but until now there paths had never really crossed.

He turned back to Rogue and Cat as they stood from there places in the dark room;

"That would be great if there is a place that i can take these off Rogue, I don't want to draw anymore attention to us, be best if we can get home with little fuss.".....

CATHERINE

Cat streatched, her muscles pulling under her sleek golden skin. If she had wanted to hone her powers she would still have alot of hard work to tone her muscles and build up her strength. There was only so far speed and agility could go if your body wasn't fit and healthy. She kept her figure but it had been ages since she had been running, her muscles were beginning to get lazy. Not that there were many areas in down town Washington she wanted to jog.

If she would have admitted it she was homesick, missing the crowded streets of Washington where a thousand people would look at you and none of them remember you. People you would probably never see again and you wouldn't be able to pick them out from a crowd even if you did. In Washington could could be invisible in broad daylight, and if you knew where you were going you could loose anyone in a matter of moments.

She also missed the cramped down town flat they had lived in, the damp which persisted in creeping through above the front door, no matter what Roger did to try and stop it. The hard sofa she used to lie on and watch day time television while Anne was out getting her hair 'tinted' as she put it. She was a brunett and a tint for her was a complete dying of her hair blonde. As soon as Anne came home Cat would retire to her own small room.

You had to open the door as far as you could and then somehow wriggle through into her room. Her room she supposed at one point had been some kind of closet it was that tiny. There was a bed and at the foot of it a wadrobe (which was the cause of the door not opening properly) and that was all the space. There was a narrow strip between the bed and the far wall and above this were several rows of shelves which housed Cat's pride and joy, her steryo system and extensive collection of CD's. Anne had bought her large headphones after the noise of heavy music had driven her almost to the point of distraction and the neighbours had hammered on the walls complaining.

She didn't miss Sean's smile, raising one curved eyebrow slightly, luckily he didn't seem to notice. Is there something between them? she wondered looking at Dawn out of one eye to see the girls reaction a slight unbidden smile upon her lips.

Since the jon 'incident' she had decided to stay clear of men, still upset with him over what had happened and furious with herself. If Bekki ever found out .... well she dreaded to think. She just tried to keep out of his way which wasn't easy when you saw someone every day. She was ashamed for the both of them, he might be able to go behind Bekki's back and not care but everytime she saw Bekki she felt awful, not knowing what to do.

She didn't remember much about that night, she knew the others had cancled on them, she remembered that her and Jon had decided to go to a night club without them. They had started on southern comfort and lemonade, next it had been vodka, it was from then in that her memory had become a little more hazy. She distincly remembered them doing Tequila, by the time the club kicked out in the early hours of the morning she was hardly able to walk in a straight line, she remembered the cold air hitting her face, feeling sick, Jon's strong arms supporting her as. He hadn't been that drunk, he had called a taxi, she knew that, the yellow had hurt her eyes. Had he kissed her first or had she kissed him? She wasn't sure about that. She knew she had been attracted to him, but she wasn't the kind of person to make the first move, but then Cat was alot brasher under the influence. The last thing she remembered were his hand's in her hair and his lips on her and then a thick gunky black fog.

She had woken up very suddenly in the early dawn, not sure what had disturbed her, eyes snapping open, wondering where she was. Feeling his chest rise and fall under her head, sitting up, moving away from him. Dressing herself and sitting on a chair watching him, feeling numb, letting it sink it, feeling tears in her eyes suddenly. Tears of shame for herself, of anguish for what she had done to Bekki, of anger towards him. She had left slamming the door to his room so hard that the picture on the wall in the hall outside fell to the floor and broke.

JENNIFER

Rogue watched Logan and the other two disappear out into the halls, the distant echo's of voices and footsteps soon faded and they where alone.

Rogue:"Agreed!"

The slayer said with a nod as she moved for the door, pausing only as she noticed Cat seemed to be off in her own little world.

Rogue:"Hey, Cat, wakey, we're leaving, close the door behind you."

With that, she hurried out of the apartment and made her way to the only place that she could think of to test these destructive eyes of Seans.
