Date to be Confirmed: Pathway to Discovery
I wasn't sure of the date.. or time.. if you could get back in touch for when this would likely happen I'll be glade to edit it in!

The school was complicated, full of mystery and hope, fear and confusion, understanding and longing. The dreams of children flooded with a sense of longing to be part of something more, like all children, a normal desire to be so much more than they thought possible, and yet Jonathon couldn’t believe the sort of abilities most of them had merely by birthright. Emily talked of the school as if it were a newfound hope, a place of interest that sparked her imagination, her desire to stay longer here often spoken of, and any replies of this being a mutant only school countered with how possible it was that she was, after all, if one Finn could be a mutant, so could another.

And when Emily had heard he was asked to meet the resident Doctor, she had asked if he could ask McCoy if it were possible to test if someone was a mutant or not... and to be honest, Jon wasn’t sure he would like either answer. It was either yes, and she’d want the test, or no, and Emily would be upset for a while to com. If the doctor said yes, then Emily would find out if she was, and want to stay here in this new world with new people and new fantastic abilities and new adventures and get to know Riley... Which was good.. but sad too, Martha enjoyed having Emily around, losing Riley had almost cost Jon his entire family, if his wife hadn’t managed to distract herself after the loss of Riley and their baby, then he feared what might have happened. Emily had been a great distraction, and perhaps Emily’s limitless affection for Riley came from the endless stories his Wife had told their little niece growing up. If Hank said the testing showed her negative for the gene, Emily would again be miserable, and feel herself losing a chance of something great, like all the magic stories children listen to growing up, offered here for her to see but not allowed to touch or be part of.

There was a deep breath outside of the medbay, McCoy hadn’t been impressed by certain things regarding Riley’s situation, and as a father Jon had the impression he’d have been even less impressed, if not outright furious. It just seemed.. whatever needed to be discussed, had to be between him and the doctor, no one else just yet, just a simple discussion, about something to do with Riley. It’s all Hank would say, preferring to discuss it face to face, and while Jon was curious, he too knew that it would be best to deal with anything serious face to face... but what was it that was causing such a serious tone in the doctors voice? No serious complications, no unforseen side effects, nothing that McCoy would assure wasn’t normal or expected...

"Dr McCoy?" The Iowa farmer called evenly as he entered the medical bay, not loud enough to be disturbing, but hopefully able to catch the doctors attention, otherwise Jon would have to either find him in his office, or wait there till the mutant returned. Thankfully, waiting wasn’t needed, and with the Doctor in view, Jon offered a friendly greeting, "Sorry I took a little longer than expected.. Riley’s cousin Emily has decided corner me whenever I head down here... your school has gotten her very passionate about what the future might hold for her," There was a kind laugh, though his tired eyes made the amusement seem tarnished with worry and concern, even he tried hard to keep up his spirits for the sake of his family.

TBC: Hank
