Does anything ever happen around here?
Yuriko was once again spending her time sat in one of the odd side rooms in the base of the Brotherhood. The room was battered, the drapes that covered the windows were torn and dirty, the sofa she was perched on was thread bare and dust plumed whenever her small frame shifted upon it. Life with the Brotherhood was not quite what she had expected. She had escaped from her previous capters months ago now, and when arriving in jet black car and business-like attire she thought she was making the right choice with this group.

She had to admit they were a little diorganised, especially without Magneto to guide them, but Mystique was doing a fair job, it's just there was no action. From what she had heard through their reputation The Brotherhood of Mutants were a constantly active group that campaigned for mutant rights vigorously, taking no prisoners, but that had not been shown since she arrived. She had promised the group alliegence and a good new member but at no point had she been able to prove that.

Yuriko was an active woman and spending so much time without anything to do was getting her more and more pent up, even to the point where she regretted escaping from the complex and the people that were using her, at least there she did things. Sat in the dark dusty room the silence was broken as she cracked each of her adamantium laced fingers, a sound and action she often did to put her enemies off when she was in a position to make them feel as uncomfortable as possible.

What made things worse was that there was hardly ever any other people around the base and the last meeting that was called of the members was months ago, and she knew if something didn't change soon she would go spare and the members of the Brotherhood that were holding them back would soon learn they had made a mistake becoming lax.

The oriental woman carefully pulled the loose hairs that had fallen into her face back across and into her perfect hair, a single strand out of place would break her business -like appearance which she kept so proudly and as she continued to wallow in her thoughts the sound of her cracking knuckles resided throughout the base.

Re: Does anything ever happen around here?
Many years back the Brotherhood was a powerful mutant group, known and feared of. Now what were they? A group virtually filled with teenagers who couldn’t even control their powers. How things change over the years…

Mystique was doing her best to try and get things back to what it was like in the old days, but it was hard when half the mutants wouldn’t do anything. She wasn’t going to come out and admit that she was having trouble with them, it only made her more determined to whip them into shape. At first she acted nice, well as nice as she could bare to those who had potential to become strong and powerful mutants. It would be more easier if she still had Magneto around for some assistance, but he was off in God knows where now. A couple of months he had said that he was going for… Almost a year later and he still hadn’t returned!

If he had gotten himself into some trouble Mystique was not going to go out of her way to help him. He had gotten himself into it, he could get himself out of it. He was powerful enough to do that, Mystique knew that and so would anyone who knew him. So Mystique had nothing to worry about, not that she had worried about him anyway.

To say that all the younger Brotherhood members were enjoying their idle time would be an understatement. The female daughter of Toad was finding her time here quite a bore. When she had joined the Brotherhood a few years back with her twin brother, Jason, things seemed to be looking up. The Brotherhood gained two mutants who were willing to train and had good skills already on them, who were determined to reach the goals of the Brotherhood. And the two green mutants had a home after spending time living with both their parents, who told them constant lies.

Then things started to go down a little after they both left after their twentieth birthday, so they could do their own thing. However, they kept in contact with Mystique and were somehow conned back into returning. Shauna didn’t mind it at first, she was able to lead small missions Mystique had given to her but now they were all too repetitive for her liking. Jason on the other hand had grown bored right away, until a poisonous mutant by the name of Victoria had joined. Things were much more interesting with her around as they became a couple. But whenever one does the slightest thing out of line in the others eyes, they argue and brake up, only to run back to each other not long after. Shauna found this quite annoying, yet at the same time it did beat watching a soap opera on daytime TV!

Hearing the cracking sound Shauna curiously followed the sound, instead of finding Mystique to speak with her as she had planned to. At first she had thought that maybe a fight had broken out between two undisciplined guys and had gotten to the part where bones were being broken, but the sound of pain and screaming was missing. She frowned silently but continued on to see what the cracking noise was.

Coming to the end of one corridor, she turned another to see Yuriko sitting in one of the rooms that was extremely untidy. There were probably only a few rooms in the Brotherhood house that were actually tidy. Those being rooms of mutants who wanted well kept rooms, like Shauna did. Her room was a mess when she first arrived but now it was clean, the carpet was still dirty but she had brought herself a new bed and blankets. Her pillows were soft and she even had enough money for good curtains and a small screen TV. The art of picket pocketing pays well!

Stepping into the room that had a musky smell to it, but was filled with the sound of cracked knuckles Shauna looked at Yuriko. The two were yet to really greet each other, though Shauna had seen her around a few times and had found out a bit of information about her. From what she had picked up Shauna had liked. Yuriko wasn’t one who had come here for a free home, she actually wanted to do something and if there was one thing that made Shauna like others, it would be that. So, she admired the clawed mutant.

"Yuriko, right?" Shauna asked to make sure, after her teeth gritted a little at the cracking sound. It was much louder and made Shauna feel rather awkward seeing where the cracking came from. "Don’t think we’ve talked as of yet, Shauna Toynbee." She sat on a chair that was beside the sofa, as she gave her quick introduction. Not expecting the chair to be so old and worn out she sunk a little deep into it, any further and she would have been eaten by the chair. She gave a slight grumble at the discomfort it gave her and was thankful she had spent money to do up her room.

Re: Does anything ever happen around here?
Yuriko turned as soon as she heard the sound of footsteps, and watched as the green mutant walked into the dank room, the woman had seen Shauna around the base but had never really had a chance to get to know her, she had read the file on her, like every good business woman knowing the competition was how people came into prosperity. In fact Yuriko had made a point of reading every mutants file she could get her hand on, her last 'emplorer' had a stack of files on many many mutants and she had 'borrowed' them before she left. So she new that Shauna had a twin, and a very close twin at that, knowing things like this often allowed her the upper hand.

However, Shauna had never done anything to go against or harm Yuriko and so what she knew wouldn't have to be used until a time came where she had to gain power over the younger woman. As she watched Shauna drop into the broken chair near the sofa a soft and yet very hard and harsh smile crossed Yuriko's lips as the room was filled by the other woman's voice;

"Yuriko, right? Don’t think we’ve talked as of yet, Shauna Toynbee." The martial arts woman kept her smile and her silver eyes fixed on Shauna and slowly stopped craking her knuckles, she had seen the unease it was making the other mutant feel, it had performed it's purpose. Carefully she crossed her hands on her lap but kept her gaze with Shauna, her palms feeling the cool touch of her leather trousers.

"Ahhh, yes, Shauna, I have seen you about here. Yes, I am Yuriko Oyama, it is not often I cross paths with many mutants here, it's not as if this place is buzzing with action" Yuriko spoke in a soft, almost whispering tone; some may have thought it dangerous, but Deathstrike could live up to her alias and her adversaries knew not only from her tone but from her eyes when she was being deadly serious.

"So Shauna, any news at all? Any ideas when the leaders of this shriveling faction are going to get us to do something because, to be honest, I may have to take things into my own hands soo, if you see what i mean." Yuriko grinned slightly, but quickly broke the look to ckeck the status of her perfectly formed silver nails. "I am getting incessantly bored, I have been for some time now. Do you know if Mystique or anyone is actually going to give us some missions?" Yuriko didn't know if the younger woman would know anything, but it would be more probing than may seem from the lamens eyes if she did know anything, it would mean she was in a position to gather information.

The clawed mutant carefully shifted herslef in the sofa, further plumes of dust rising from the seat, she coughed slightly and then looked back at her fellow mutant, the dim steaks of light coming through the tattered curtains making her silver eyes glimmer slightly, and reflecting of her black shiny hair. It was not often that Yuriko was seen looking anything but smart, she prided herself of it, even when living in such a dank place as this.

Re: Does anything ever happen around here?
"Ahhh, yes, Shauna, I have seen you about here. Yes, I am Yuriko Oyama, it is not often I cross paths with many mutants here, it's not as if this place is buzzing with action” Shauna gave a nod agreeing with what Deathstrike had said, along with being relieved that the loud and disturbing cracking of the knuckles had stopped.

"So Shauna, any news at all? Any ideas when the leaders of this shriveling faction are going to get us to do something because, to be honest, I may have to take things into my own hands soo, if you see what i mean." She shook her head, a little annoyed with one thing Yuriko had said. 'Shrivelling fraction' wasn’t something she liked the Brotherhood to be called, but then again she had a point there. Nothing decent was going on so maybe that was the only term to describe this place. With a look around the room the young green mutant could tell that even the building itself was shrivelling.

"I am getting incessantly bored, I have been for some time now. Do you know if Mystique or anyone is actually going to give us some missions?" If only she knew that. Shauna was so bored that she even contemplated going over to Xavier’s for the briefest of moments before cursing herself for thinking such a thing. How could she go off and join that pack of do-gooders? After finally forgiving herself for such a thought she quickly became more determined to stick by the Brotherhood’s side and help them return to the strength that she was yet to see the Brotherhood hold.

"To tell you the truth, I do not know what is going on. And I’m as bored as you are," She finished off with an annoyed sigh. "I was on my way to find Mystique before, hoping that she might have some good news and something to do but if she hasn’t got anything I’ll probably loose my mind and turn into some of the others we have here." And that was true, it was now getting more than boring just hanging around the Brotherhood doing nothing, it was getting frustrating. If Mystique dared to group her up with some of the pointless mutants that called themselves members of the Brotherhood she would scream. They did nothing to keep themselves discreet, using their powers whenever they wanted and causing a scene that Shauna and a couple of other mutants had to try and take by the scruff of the neck and save before anything would happen. It was hard enough for Shauna to keep herself from being pointed out with the green skin her mother had so kindly given to her and Jason for no reason at all.

"I would love to be part of the group to restore the honour to the Brotherhood," Shauna admitted after a moment of silence. "But it seems as if it’s going to be a big task ahead of us," She seemed a little disappointed, believing that the Brotherhood was almost beyond saving. As determined as she is to help her mutant affiliation she hasn’t let that blind her from reality.

It was now Shauna’s turn to shift about in her chair as she continued to be consumed by it. Her hands had a strong grip on the armrests and pulled herself up. Her arms were her strong point, Jason had strong leg muscles and Shauna had strong arm muscles. This allowed her to be quick with her arms, which allowed her to be such a great pickpocket, have powerful punches and she could even balance solely on her arms a large amounts of time.

A few grotty looking cushions were on the floor beside her, probably by some immature mutants having a pillow fight, so she picked a few up and placed them on the chair beneath her before sitting back upon it. Shauna still sank a little much to her displeasure but she was now sitting higher than she was previously.

"I mean, I had never heard of the Brotherhood until just before I joined this place and nothing has even happened here since I have. How do I know for sure that they were ever really powerful?" Both Shauna and Jason had been lied to so often by both their parents she had a right to by cluey when it comes to the truth. She was about to go on and ask if Yuriko knew if the Brotherhood was ever strong, she looked like she might as in she was older than Shauna but she decided agaist it since she didn't want to offend Deathstrike.

Re: Does anything ever happen around here?
Yuriko listened softly as the green skinned women spoke, her silver eyes locked with those of her Brotherhood companion. Much of what she said was basically immaterial to what Yuriko was getting at but what she did find as soon as the younger woman spoke was that they both shared a belief, the Brotherhood had become stagnant and if something wasn’t done soon they would fall completely, the once prestigious, even feared reputation they had gained with Magneto leading them long before Yuriko had arrived was now gone and although she didn’t show it, it did sadden the clawed mutant that something that was so great was failing now. Although Shauna did not seen to have anything in the way of information about the group, she did have strong opinions on it, and that showed strength of character which Yuriko respected greatly.

“…but if she hasn’t got anything I’ll probably loose my mind and turn into some of the others we have here." Yuriko tuned back into what Shauna was saying, her thoughts taking over her for a moment, it was true, she too would find herself having problems if something wasn’t soon done, and although she had sworn loyalty to the Brotherhood, and she didn’t want to break her word to them as it would be very dishonorable, she needed some kind of action.

"I would love to be part of the group to restore the honor to the Brotherhood, But it seems as if it’s going to be a big task ahead of us, I mean, I had never heard of the Brotherhood until just before I joined this place and nothing has even happened here since I have. How do I know for sure that they were ever really powerful?"

A slight smile spread over Yuriko’s face as she thought about what the younger woman said, reading a mutants file and meeting them often brought surprises but something striked the oriental woman as she listened to Shauna speak; the tow were very much similar and Yuriko saw a lot of herself in the woman, and she liked it. It could never hurt to have more people in the world like them, knowing what they want and doing what’s needed to gain it if it was worth the effort.

“I too wish to be one of the people that can bring the Brotherhood back to their former glory, it would be a great honor to show others like Xavier’s over moral, over zealous ‘X-Men’ that mutants like us that long for mutant prosperity and domination that we are still hear and still willing to fight our cause.” Yuriko shifted slightly in her seat and turned more towards her faction companion, her gaze fixing steely with that of Shauna’s. “I have been around longer than you have Shauna, and even though I was taken from freedom for a while, I was still able to monitor things out here. The Brotherhood was great, and although I understand why you might question that from any other member here, you can trust me as I have just admitted to you that I think we are failing…now anyway…I speak as I see, I do not care for the consequences, I speak what I feel and always have. No, back in the days of Magneto, the Brotherhood was much, much stronger than currently, they even scored a number of victories when against the X-Men. Although I was not part of the Brotherhood then, I have seen proof of the events. But since Magneto left and Mystique took charge the group seems to have slowed, and do not get me wrong, Mystique is a good leader, but she is a person who works from the shadows and for some reason she has taken it upon herself to take the faction that way too, but to the extreme of, it seems, hiding.”

Yuriko stopped realizing she had just spoken a lot to someone she had just met, she had allowed some of her emotion, her thirst for action, to seep through and leak into her speech. This was unlike her and it was obvious now that she felt seriously repressed here, something had to be done.

“I am sorry, I do not mean to go on, or show lack of faith in our leaders here, I just need something to do, and I need it soon.” She ended calmly, with a hint that she knew what she wanted to do but that she didn’t have the strength or power within the group to do anything about it.

Re: Does anything ever happen around here?
“I too wish to be one of the people that can bring the Brotherhood back to their former glory, it would be a great honor to show others like Xavier’s over moral, over zealous ‘X-Men’ that mutants like us that long for mutant prosperity and domination that we are still hear and still willing to fight our cause.” Shauna couldn’t help but nod along with Yuriko’s words and allow her eyes to narrow a little at the mention of the X-Men. Silently she cursed herself again for that split second thought of going over there. The green mutant may have forgiven herself a little while back for that, but it seemed that from now on when the X-Men were mentioned, she was going to curse herself.

“I have been around longer than you have Shauna, and even though I was taken from freedom for a while, I was still able to monitor things out here. The Brotherhood was great…” They really were great? Shauna felt relieved from hearing that, both because she didn’t have to ask the clawed assassin to answer that and more relieved that she hadn’t been lied to when she had been told about the Brotherhood’s past. There was a small spark of curiosity when Deathstrike mentioned being taken away from freedom, but she didn’t dare to ask. Time wasn’t always to be spent thinking about the past, only when you want to change the future…

“… and although I understand why you might question that from any other member here, you can trust me as I have just admitted to you that I think we are failing…now anyway…I speak as I see, I do not care for the consequences, I speak what I feel and always have.” Shauna also spoke very similar, the truth should not be held back and feared that it may offend someone. However, she sometimes held back much to her displeasure and that was when Mystique was angry. A few times she had even lied to try and make things better, but the blue metamorph could see through the lies and Shauna ended up in more trouble than she would have.

“No, back in the days of Magneto, the Brotherhood was much, much stronger than currently, they even scored a number of victories when against the X-Men. Although I was not part of the Brotherhood then, I have seen proof of the events.” If she had of been a few years younger a shudder of excitement would have ran through her over hearing about Brotherhood having victories over the X-Men.

“But since Magneto left and Mystique took charge the group seems to have slowed, and do not get me wrong, Mystique is a good leader, but she is a person who works from the shadows and for some reason she has taken it upon herself to take the faction that way too, but to the extreme of, it seems, hiding.” Shauna, too, had noticed this. Magneto was doing a good job in raising some of the mutants here, even if he wasn’t around as much he had sent fear into the others so they wouldn’t mess about. Though before he had left the Brotherhood was still in a weak state, it was hard for both the master of magnetism and Mystique to believe that such a thing had happened, but it had. Since the drop of power Mystique and Magneto had a child together, Phoebe and had to spend time rasing her. Well… it was mainly Mystique doing the raising of the child and maybe that somehow led to the sense of her becoming a soft mother. She didn’t like that reputation, even if it was only a very fait one and had done her best to restore her name to it’s feared glory. Maybe she should have been trying harder to restore the Brotherhood as well while she did so.

“I am sorry, I do not mean to go on, or show lack of faith in our leaders here, I just need something to do, and I need it soon.” Taking no offence to it, Shauna would probably have said something along the lines of that if she had gotten to it before. Shauna wanted to do something creative more than needed it, but then again, perhaps she did. That way she wouldn’t turn into some slacker.

Walking through the halls to catch up with a size-altering mutant who had broken oven in the kitchen was Mystique. She was not pleased at all. Things were bad enough for the Brotherhood with these mutants causing embarrassment to the group who aimed for mutant prosperity, now she had to handle with them being hungry as well! She had reluctantly sent off a couple of mutants she had trusted to go and get some take away, warning them to get the food, come back and give her the change or she’d prove why she was feared. But on her way she had heard two voices talking, naturally she listened in.

There was a slight frown on her face, though she wasn’t offended nor angered by the truth, ok maybe a little but not many people like others talking about them behind their backs. Though, they had a right to be speaking about this and she was actually pleased that those two mutants were talking, glad they had met.

"You're making things sound as if old age is getting to me," Her voice turned around the corner she stood behind and entered the room as she stood, folded arms, in the doorway. Shauna’s teeth gritted softly behind the cover of her lips as she slowly turned her gaze over to the shapeshifter. How much had she heard?

Re: Does anything ever happen around here?
Yuriko was glad that Shauna was seeming to take such an interest in what she had said, she knew already that her and Shauna would get on fairly well, and she hoped they would be able to work together in the future, she would like to see if the green skinned woman was just as equal to herself when out in the field.

"You're making things sound as if old age is getting to me,"

Yuriko’s silver gaze shifted to the doorframe and a smirk crossed her lips as she looked upon the one they had been speaking of. Mystique’s cool blue form rested just within the door frame, her arms folded, and although the look on Mystique’s face told her that she had heard at least most of what the two had been speaking of, she looked decidedly calm, thoughtful even. Maybe the fact that two of the Brotherhoods more mature members were discussing it properly made the metamorph realise that something should be done and that there were members loyal enough to do whatever it takes. Whatever the reason, the clawed mutant could tell that the leader of the faction was not angry, if anything she looked more willing to except what was happening which meant something could be done about it.

Keeping her cool steely gaze and casual smile upon her features like any good business woman, Yuriko spoke invitingly to Mystique, but made sure not to hide what they were talking about, she wasn’t going to insult her intelligence by thinking they could hide that they were discussing as she clearly knew most.

“Ahhh, Mystique, it’s been a while since I have seen you around the base, I hope you realise that what I said was not a personal attack, more of an observation, I just want to get the Brotherhood back on it’s feet.” Yuriko casually checked the status of her finger nails as if what she was saying was nothing anymore important than a morning greeting, she did not want to show weakness or worry in front of Mystique, the oriental woman prided herself on being able to keep her emotions in check when needed. “Especially as Xavier’s numbers are getting fuller and fuller by the week, and he seems to be taking on some pretty strong mutants as well, if we aren’t careful his X-Men could run us right outta here.” Her voice now was tainted with a little more seriousness, but the smile kept to her lips.

Deathstrike took in another long gaze around the shabby, desolate room that the three women had convened in, making an effort to stop and gaze momentarily on the worst areas of the room; the large chunks of broken fallen plaster from the walls; the torn, chewed carpet that flurried dust when any pressure was put upon it; the mould and dirt covered window that was so dirty that they were doing the job of the drapes (that were precariously hanging in torn pieces from the rail) by blocking most of the light. It was as if she was giving a visual diagram that the base was a microcosm of the whole Brotherhood’s current state.

Yuriko’s view shifted to Shauna, the youngest woman in the room seemed on edge as soon as Mystique had arrived, as if she had had experience of their leaders temper. Yuriko’s smile changed to something more sincere for a split second when their eyes met before she set her attention back to the newest arrival to the room.

“Please Mystique, come and talk with us, I think I may have some information that might be of use to you and the rest of the Brotherhood.” Deathstrike held her gaze with Mystique knowing that her leader would be able to tell she was being serious and sincere as her silver eyes met with the powerful yellow ones of Mystique.

“Ahhh, Mystique, it’s been a while since I have seen you around the base, I hope you realise that what I said was not a personal attack, more of an observation, I just want to get the Brotherhood back on it’s feet.” The blue Metamorph gave a strong nod of the head. Mystique understood what was being discussed and was pleased with the fact that Yuriko hadn’t gone out of her way to come up with a poor cover story.

“Especially as Xavier’s numbers are getting fuller and fuller by the week, and he seems to be taking on some pretty strong mutants as well, if we aren’t careful his X-Men could run us right outta here.” Her right hand clenched a little, though it couldn’t be seen as it remained hidden with her arms completely folded. She knew that the X-Men were getting stronger by the day. They already had a pack of strong mutants years back, age wouldn’t slow them down too much and now some had their own children. Not to mention that they had gained new allies and members. The X-Men were probably at the peak of their strength right now. But Mystique wasn’t going to let that intimidate her. The Brotherhood WILL become strong once more.

Her yellow, pupil-less eyes watched as Deathstrike looked around the shabby room. Mystique wasn’t foolish, she could tell that this room was symbolising the current state of the X-Men. Everything that Yuriko’s silver eyes landed on, so did Mystique’s, who knew that every little broke, torn, filthy or fallen item in this room showed how bad things were. She wasn’t going to let it get any worse. Change had to happen now!

“Please Mystique, come and talk with us, I think I may have some information that might be of use to you and the rest of the Brotherhood.” Her yellow eyes looked back to Yuriko, with interest. Information? That was always helpful and Yuriko always seemed to have her ways of find some, so she could not complain about the clawed woman’s job to the Brotherhood.

“And what would this information be?” She was curious, though he voice didn’t seem to show it, nor did her face. Even Shauna, who had just sat silently unsure of what to do or say for a short while, was curious to what Yuriko had to offer.

The Metamorph stepped a little further into the room. She turned a little to close the door so that no one’s big ears would listen in. However, if moved, the door would fall off it’s hinges as it was barely balancing upon the ones it was on now. It only showed Mystique how low the Brotherhood really was right now, who was not pleased with the realisation. She knew things were bad, but it hadn’t really struck her how bad. Hopefully Yuriko’s information would prove helpful, otherwise she was not going to be in a happy mood.

Re: Does anything ever happen around here?
Yuriko smiled as Mystique excepted her invite into the room, she new that the blue metamorph would not be able to ignore any information with the Brotherhood’s state at this moment so she would be particularly happy with information Deathstrike had been able to get a hold of. Before Yuriko had been captured she had had a lot of contacts around this city, and lucky for her despite her disappearance, they were all right where they should be after he return, and it’s thanks to those informants that she has the information she had for the Brotherhood now.

Standing, the clawed asian woman walked over to the dull window and looked out of it as she thought about what she had to tell, to be precise, she had two pieces of information that would be of use to Mystique, one needed to be acted upon sooner than the other however and so she decided it would be best to give that piece first.

She quietly turned back towards Mystique, noticing Shawna’s quietness since the blue mutant had entered she smiled softly for a second before her face hardened again with what she had heard;

“I actually have two pieces of information for you, but lets start with one.” Yuriko stepped back over towards the sofa, getting closer again to the two other women. “ Some years back their was a mutant who used to swing about this city, he used to fight the ‘criminals’ of these parts, and has dealt with the X-Men before. Spiderman was quite impressive and was active until a couple of years ago when he suddenly went missing, along with a few of his ‘enemies’. Obviously this was very exciting for the petty criminals in the inner city where Spiderman used to patrol as they could get back to business. Now, however, according to my informants he is back, and not only that he is back to the strengths he used to be when he was younger, when he first discovered his abilities.” Yuriko paused for a moment to see how Mystique would react to the information of a possible new agitator of the Brotherhood.

“However, with his return comes one of his nemesis’s and someone we might be able to get something good from; Doctor Otto Octavius is a science genius, if not a little psychotic in regards to wanting revenge on Spiderman. I believe getting him on our side might give us another strong member to our faction, the problem will be encouraging him to join us, in the past he has only ever had problems when joining forces with others, he has been betrayed or has lost because of Spiderman’s intervention.”

Yuriko stopped talking again, now waiting for Mystique’s input, she knew that getting Ock on their side would help them, the Brotherhood needed more strong members and even if it meant persuading other like Otto to join it would give them an advantage against the X-Men, his robotic tentacles would cause quite a stir for the X-Men and his inability to control himself when on an attack would always be an advantage. The young woman stood watching silently to see what Mystique said, if this didn’t interest her then she still had the second piece of information to fall back on and as long as they didn’t get on the wrong side of Octavius if Mystique choose not to go for it for now then the Brotherhood wouldn’t have to worry about him, anyway the many armed scientist might not even be interested in joining forces with the Brotherhood

Re: Does anything ever happen around here?
( ooc- Sorry for typos or stuff that just plain don't make sense, being kicked off before I can read over it! >_< )

“I actually have two pieces of information for you, but lets start with one.” Two pieces of information? Well that was pleasing for the blue Metamorph to hear. Her yellow eyes watched as Yuriko made her way back from the window, towards Shauna and herself.

“ Some years back their was a mutant who used to swing about this city, he used to fight the ‘criminals’ of these parts, and has dealt with the X-Men before.” While Mystique had a vague idea on who Deathstrike was talking about, Shauna had no idea. She had really been left out of the loop about famous faces and events of the past. Sure, she took history at school when she went but schools don’t seem to focus on such events as mutant war. Though, that would be much more interesting than learning about Nazi Germany or the Russian Revolution.

“Spiderman was quite impressive and was active until a couple of years ago when he suddenly went missing, along with a few of his ‘enemies’.” No way! Spiderman was real? Shauna shifted uncomfortably in her chair, though it was more an uncomfortable feeling about not knowing much about the things that matter than a discomfort feeling the chair was giving off.

“Obviously this was very exciting for the petty criminals in the inner city where Spiderman used to patrol as they could get back to business. Now, however, according to my informants he is back, and not only that he is back to the strengths he used to be when he was younger, when he first discovered his abilities.” There was a brief look of anger that the ‘good’ of the world was so strong at the moment while the Brotherhood was scraping low to gather potential mutants who might become of use to the Brotherhood at a later date. At the moment crime didn’t mean much to Mystique, even her mutant terrorist ways had been put on hold until she could have enough power in her group to cause some real chaos, but with the return of Spiderman, the X-Men with the right amount of young, athletic and powerful mutants it seemed as if the Brotherhood was trailing far, far behind.

“However, with his return comes one of his nemesis’s and someone we might be able to get something good from; Doctor Otto Octavius is a science genius, if not a little psychotic in regards to wanting revenge on Spiderman.” A look of interest rose from the blue woman’s face, it was always nice to hear the news of old foes returning with the rise and/or return of heroes. Perhaps this Doctor Otto Octavius could be of some value for the Brotherhood. Perhaps. Instead of thinking any longer, Mystique just listened while Yuriko continued adding in her own beliefs on this matter.

“I believe getting him on our side might give us another strong member to our faction, the problem will be encouraging him to join us, in the past he has only ever had problems when joining forces with others, he has been betrayed or has lost because of Spiderman’s intervention.” She liked it how Yuriko was thinking along the same lines as her. He may not be mutant, but he would do to aid the Brotherhood revival. After they get to their former glory Mystique could always ditch him. It really would be that hard for her too pull of anyway…

However, to get such a man as Otto wasn’t going to be easy but Mystique was always up for a challenge. She would put up a good offer and if he didn’t take their joining of forces, she’d come up with another plan before he could even say no.

"He does sound like he could be of use to us, and we to him if he needs," She began thinking over the trouble and chaos they could cause, a devilish smirk crossing her face as she did so. However, if Otto did ally himself with the Brotherhood and want help for his own needs, Mystique was going to be wary. She was not going to allow herself to be double-crossed and if was smart, he wouldn’t dare. No one would ever wish the revenge Mystique would place upon those who cross her.

"But he doesn't sound as if he'd join us that easily. It's not as if we can go up to him and say 'Hey Otto, ya wanna join the Brotherhood? We could be of help to you and your spider problem. What do ya say?'" Shauna pointed out although she was sure the two older women already knew, Yuriko had pointed that out already and Mystique always seemed to know everything.

"Things aren't always as hard as they seem," Mystique sounded somewhat amused as she spoke, almost as if she was a young girl waiting to go on an exciting trip to the mall. "Now, you said you had two pieces of information Yuriko?" While Mystique wanted the second piece of information at her own disposal, so she could plan things that revolve around them, Shauna wanted to talk about this Doctor Otto Octavius more. But for now she stayed silent, she didn’t want to get Mystique angry by changing the topic after she already had. Besides, she could always bring it back up after Deathstrike finished talking about the next piece of information.

Re: Does anything ever happen around here?
"He does sound like he could be of use to us, and we to him if he needs,"

A smile began to spread across Yuriko’s youthful face, it seemed that the news of Occtavius’s return to the large metropolis of New York made Mystique think seriously about her proposal of approaching Ock for a little help, she just hoped that the blue mutant wouldn’t get to overconfident when approaching Ock, it could certainly be her downfall.

"But he doesn't sound as if he'd join us that easily. It's not as if we can go up to him and say 'Hey Otto, ya wanna join the Brotherhood? We could be of help to you and your spider problem. What do ya say?'"

Yuriko’s smile softened a little as her gaze turned on Shauna, although said rather crudely, she seemed to understand that Dr. Octavius wouldn’t exactly jump at the chance to join the Brotherhood, for one he had never actually come to them for anything, he had been the leader of the Sinister Six, so it would take something big to encourage him to become a subordinate again.

"Things aren't always as hard as they seem," Yuriko’s smile faded, it seemed to her that Mystique should maybe listen to what Shauna said a little, that kind of thinking could be dangerous, and although Yuriko had to admit that her leader was a very powerful mutant, if she let it go to her head and got complacent, the recovery of the Brotherhood had already failed. "Now, you said you had two pieces of information Yuri[/i]

Yuriko snapped out of her deep thoughts and cam crashing back down to the dank room, turning her attention back to Mystique she spoke quickly again, this information she knew would be of interest to the Brotherhood’s leader.

“Yes, that is true, this second piece of information regards the X-Men’s new recruits. According to my sources, Xavier’s has stepped up the number of teams that they have for availability now, including their many new members. However because of this increase in members the new teams need to be taken out to train in a realistic situation. It seems that a schedule for these teams to go out on training missions alone has been set to a coming weekend.”

Yuriko paused for a split second to look at the two other women and let this information sink in, still impressed with the fact that Shauna had been allowed to stay, maybe Mystique held her in higher esteem than she had originally thought.

“It seems to me that we have two avenues to explore with this situation; the weakness of the practicing new teams or the state the mansion will be in with many of their stronger mutants leaving for this training experience.”

The smile returned to Yuriko’s serious face as she watched the information sink in to her superior and could practically see her mind working to try and think of how to use both pieces of information. As if it wouldn’t really affect her Yuriko looked down to examine her near perfect silver finger nails, as if they needed checking and that it couldn’t wait until their discussion was over.

Re: Does anything ever happen around here?
“Yes, that is true, this second piece of information regards the X-Men’s new recruits.” The blue shapeshifter raised a brow, interested what was going to be said, but Shauna’s eyes seemed to widen at the mention of the Brotherhood’s long time rivals. Again she forced herself to curse her mind for the split second thought of swapping forces, but she was extremely interested in Yuriko had to say. She wanted this piece of information to be something good. To be something where they could go up against the X-Men. Shauna had never faced them before, only seeing them from a distance. She wanted to match up against them, see how strong they really were.

“According to my sources, Xavier’s has stepped up the number of teams that they have for availability now, including their many new members. However because of this increase in members the new teams need to be taken out to train in a realistic situation. It seems that a schedule for these teams to go out on training missions alone has been set to a coming weekend.” Shauna shifted in her chair a little, eager to voice her opinion though she didn’t want to come off too keen and remained silent. If she had of said something, it would have shown how bored she was and that she longed for something decent to do other than small little tasks with mutants who tried to blow their cover. She didn’t want to do that since she didn’t want to anger Mystique, as she too was a little surprised in that she was allowed to stay. If she kept this up she might be able to do something decent like whatever Mystique was conjuring up in her mind.

Mystique was pleased in this news, and she thought the first piece was valuable. It seemed that the Brotherhood did well in accepting Lady Deathstrike into their affiliation. She hadn’t put a foot wrong as of yet and was proving her worth. Now it was up to her to use this piece of information to favour the Brotherhood and not the X-Men.

“It seems to me that we have two avenues to explore with this situation; the weakness of the practicing new teams or the state the mansion will be in with many of their stronger mutants leaving for this training experience.” She was thinking along the lines of either of those two options. There was still a chance that there might be some stronger X-Men staying behind with the mutants who weren’t on teams. She knew that not all of the mutants under Xavier’s roof would be on teams, some wouldn’t be strong enough to be on teams, some couldn’t control their powers and others may not want to be on teams. The X-Men weren’t that foolish to leave them all behind alone, but it could always be some fun to mess with the weak who were left behind…

Then again, it could be even more fun to go up against those who were strong enough and trusted enough to be placed upon teams. Mystique knew that not all of her Brotherhood would be able to face up against them, so only those that she thought worthy would go. Even a few of them may not be strong enough, but if they knew what their enemy was, knew what they had to one day go up against it could be a worthy lesson.

And for those members who miss out? It might put them into action, they might get into line and become what they promised to be and then they could be the next few mutants to meet the new members of the X-Men. If they didn’t, it was simple. They were no longer a part of the Brotherhood!

"The state of the mansion does not concern me as much as these new teams do," She started, walking a few steps deeper into the room as she spoke. "I would like to know how these teams are. Their strengths, and more importantly their weaknesses," With their weaknesses known they would be easier to dismember. Easier to destroy. This would be fun, not only for Mystique’s sake, she was sure those who would go along with this mission would enjoy it also.

"We could do with a few members going along, not many have seen the X-Men in their lives, it could do them some good," A few names of mutants flickered through her mind. Many of the members were not worthy to come along, few were and they would be those who would be going along.

"I'll go," Shauna allowed herself to sink into her chair, ashamed that she allowed herself to explode like that. It was only two words but she rarely did that and never liked it when she did. "Sorry…" She said, sinking in a little further in her chair. At this moment she wanted to chair to consume her as it was doing before she attempted to fix if with cushions. Why wouldn’t it eat her now?

"I already had you in mind, Shauna," Shauna’s face seemed lighten up slightly at that piece of information, though she wasn’t going to let herself forgive her for what she had done. "Yuriko, are you up for meeting and seeing these new X-Men teams for yourself?" The offer was up. Yuriko had given this valuable information and she deserved to come along. Besides, if she wanted the Brotherhood back on its feet, she would come along and show it.

"Uh… Do we know where the teams are heading at all?" Now that she had been told that she was part of the team, Shauna wasn’t afraid to interrupt and get down to business. She wanted to know where she was off to. Though, she was a little hesitant at first for the mere fact she was still ashamed of her outburst from before.

Yuriko smiled, she still didn't raise her eyes to watch Mystique move about the room as her powerful thoughts began flowing, the reason why Magneto left her in charge was at last coming out once again, it was this enthusiasm that the Brotherhood needed to get back. This was quickly mirrored in Shauna's sudden outburst to show her lyalty to the new founded mission; this did get a quick glance from Yuriko's silver eyes as once again Shauna went up in her estimations.

"I already had you in mind, Shauna, Yuriko, are you up for meeting and seeing these new X-Men teams for yourself? Uh… Do we know where the teams are heading at all?"

Yuriko finally turned towards Mystique their eyes meeting, she had wondered if the blue mutant was going to ask her to come along or if she would either be just expected to or left behind. The fact that Mystique had asked her showed that she had some respect within the organisation and this did make Yuriko more secure in her choice when it came to joining the Brotherhood.

"Of course I will be honored to come along, I have been hoping to get out and show them that the Brotherhood isn't gone just yet. Unfortunataly I don't no where exactly the new teams are going, I do know that they are all going to different locations, its some kind of competition between them, so each team will be alone, but that is as far as my information goes." Yuriko felt a twang of annoyance as she said the words, she liked to be the one with as much information as she could get and at this point her level of knowledge was flawed; and being flawed was something Deathstrike did not like at all.

(ooc- Sorry about my slowness!)

"Of course I will be honored to come along, I have been hoping to get out and show them that the Brotherhood isn't gone just yet. Unfortunataly I don't no where exactly the new teams are going, I do know that they are all going to different locations, its some kind of competition between them, so each team will be alone, but that is as far as my information goes." The young female Toynbee was glad to hear that Yuriko would be going along on this mission, she wanted to see what had lead to the mutant getting the name ‘Lady Deathstrike’. Most mutants had names like that to go with who they were, Shauna’s was Duration due to ability to manipulate time for a single person, her brother was Bounder since because of his mutation in his legs that allowed him to leap great distances. So it wouldn’t be too long before the green skinned mutant to find where Deathstrike came from.

However, she frowned a little since the locations of where the X-Teams were going to were unknown for now. It had better not mean that this whole thing was cancelled though knowing Mystique she had a feeling that a little obstacle like that get in the way.

And she was right.

While Mystique was annoyed for a moment that the locations were not at hand, she merely went onto thinking about ways to overcome this. It could be easy for her to sneak into the Institute as either an original X-Man or one of the students and not be discovered since she could avoid those with advanced senses and knew of her scent. But she decided against that. This was to be a test, in a way, to see if they were as strong and as smart as she thought they were. So, she wasn’t going to offer her assistance so easily.

This didn’t mean that she wasn’t going to give any help. An idea was forming in her head, perhaps they didn’t need to know the locations. All they needed to do was board the jets, or whatever transport they were going by, along with one of the groups. It might seem like a foolish idea, but it was up to these mutants, young and old, to use their skills the best they could to help cause some trouble in this competition the little X-Men were having.

"I think we have a way to get around that little problem," The blue skinned shapeshifter said, a devilish smile curving the edge of her lips ever so slightly. She was clearly showing the other two mutants that she had something up her sleeve, but she wasn’t going to give it away as of yet. "I expect to see the two of you in the Meeting Room in one hour," Mystique said, her voice showing that she wasn't going to accept lateness, no matter what the excuse may be. With that she turned around and left, most likely to see other mutants who she planned on allowing them to come on this mission as well as finalising a few things in her mind.

"Wonder what she has planned..." The youngest mutant in the room curiously said looking over to Yuriko. She hoped that this meeting would explain everything that her curious mind was gaining. If not she was going to demand some answers for at least some of her questions. While she did fear Mystique, she feared going into this mission without any form of information much more. At least with Mystique she knew what she was up against, she barely knew the X-Men and what kind of tricks those human lovers might have.
