Each timeline is different, just like now and medieval times
Luckily the walk there wouldn’t take too long. Lauren wondered what other common and everyday things would catch Heath's attention as she led him towards the Med Bay. It sort of made the mutant feel as if she took some things a little too much for granted. Like imagine what life would be like without electricity… No bright lights at night, no television, no computers, life would be horrible! Sure, candles were great, but Lauren didn’t really like the idea of that providing light in the dark.
Lauren: "What year is it?"
The way she asked made her sound as she wasn’t sure herself, well that was partly true… she didn’t know what year Heath thought it was. Anything under the year 1900 would end up sounding really weird to her, like she was in some history class, but she wanted to know, what year was it? And what was life like in an era of Knights? It still seemed to unreal to believe, but it seemed that it would have to be.
Turning a corner she realised that the Med Bay was just down the hall a little further. She was actually surprised that she remembered where it was, she had gotten lost a fair few times since arriving here, but at least she was slowly, very slowly, finding her way around.

Re: Each timeline is different, just like now and medieval t
To say he was enjoying the stroll down the halls would be a lie, everything was so strange and yet well kept, it was a wondrous place, but the people and things inside it where all strange. He's never seen so many windows before, surely it was dangerous if a war broke out and they started to throw stones at the glass? He couldn't help but think of that The Battle of Crecy, in 1346, thanks in part to the use of the longbow, the English defeated a much larger mounted French force at Crecy, introducing a period of peace. And that was only two years ago for Heath.
"Pardon me my Lady?" Why would she not know what year it was, he corrected his manners and told her without question, he was not going to insult one of her rank and manners. He tried to hide his confusion and focused on the dates of his time, trying to push back the memories of the way that had threatened his home and family so recently.
"1348 my Lady.." He moved aside as a girl was hurrying down the halls with her mobile against her ear as she talked loudly. Heath stared at the girl and turned his head slightly to watch her walk off, he couldn't understand why she was talking to herself.. surely she was mad, he didn't notice the thing in her hand, just her seeming to hold her ear. He turned back around with a startled expression as the doors of the med bay slid pen with what seems a will of their own. His eyes darted from one sude of the door to the other, not sure he wanted to pass them in case they would shut close upon him like steel jaws of a wild beast.
Lauren passed into the Med Bay, beckoning him to follow, and for a moment his legs seemed unwilling to risk entering the strange room, but slowly he followed her in. Blinking in confusion at all the strange things within the room, he didn't understand what any of the things did except the beds for laying on. He turned around anxiously as the doors slid shut, seeming to be locking them into the strange room, there was a shuffle of feet behind him and he turned around quickly once more. He stared at McCoy's blue furry face which was just a foot away from him, now, people of Heath's time where always told stories of monsters and how they all liked to eat humans and chew their bones.. So it was no surprise that the sight of this monsterous creature frightened him to no end, demons where evil.. and this thing looked pretty demonic in Heath's mind.
The creature took a step forward and Heath took a step back, he felt very light headed and at the same time very heavy, mainly due to his damp clothes and the way he was breathing so shallow yet quick. Did Lady Lauren bring him here to be eaten? She didn't seem evil like that and normally he was a great judge of characters.. what if she expected him to slay this beast? But Heath didn't believe in monsters, he didn't think wizards where real, he had good reasons to think all they did where tricks and illusions, since the first wizard he met was just a false trickster. The fact Heath was even still standing was a courages effort on his part considering how easily terrified the people of his time got.

Re: Each timeline is different, just like now and medieval t"1348 my Lady.." Lauren stared ahead, rather shocked, now that was a looong time ago! But if he really was a knight… How did he get here? Actually she remembered back to when she helped out Mandi, she had come from another dimension… how come she keeps finding people from other dimensions?
Walking into the Med Bay she noticed the look upon the Knight’s face, it was sort of funny how all these things were so strange for him. Just like Beast… Seeing her Biology teacher, and also the residential doctor, made her wonder how Heath would act towards him. After all it’s not ever day you meet a man covered in blue fur.
Lauren: "Don’t worry, this is Mr. McCoy, he’s the doctor here!"
She assured Heath, her tone showing that there was nothing to worry about. He was only here to help, and from what Lauren had learnt in her few Biology classes, he would hurt someone unless he had a good reason.
Lauren: "Mr. McCoy, this is Sir Ulrich, he was drowning in the lake, I saved him. He says he’s a Knight from 1348. Do you think it’s possible?"
She asked almost wishing that it was possible, she didn’t even care about the fact that Heath almost drowned, that she saved him, she just wanted to know whether or not he was really a Knight. She believed that he was, but just want to know for sure.

Re: Each timeline is different, just like now and medieval t
Her assurance didn't ease him too well, but he was too scared to move when Beast began help him, thinking over what Lauren had told him about Heath being a Knight. The young man however felt rather unsure by that comment, why didn't she think he was a Knight? Did he not seem Knightly to her? What if they knew that he was but a peasant!? Was this some form of punishment for him lying to so many in order to realize his dream.. he felt bad about it.. but he still wanted to be a Knight so badly..
When Beast removed his rather old fashioned shirt, Heath gave a rather shocked gasp as he folded his arms nervously over his chest and quickly side stepped behind Beast. Acting as if the doctor just stripped him naked of all his clothes, which was exactly what it felt like for Heath even if he was still in his pants and such, but in the olden days even to see the legs of a Lady was rare just as it was rare for them to see the bare flesh of a man's chest. With all his constant training and fighting it wasn't that he was ashamed of his form, he was rather well defined and toned, his skin a very light tanned colour from all his outdoor training. But he has never had a girl in the room with him while not completely dressed and it was a very humiliating experience for him.
Heath's hand snatched up the dirty, damp and bloodied shirt from McCoy’s clawed hand rather bravely before holding it against his chest as Beast smiled and hurriedly went to work on binding his open cut. There was one thing that did embarrassed Heath about his body, it always seemed covered in bruises from all his jousting fights and sword fights. He didn't even like his friend’s see his bruised body that always seemed covered lightly in cuts. One could think two things from seeing so many bruises.. either he was an excellent Knight that always got into fights and came out the victor... or a terrible Knight that always got beaten badly.
"I'm going to give you this.. it won't hurt if you hold still, and it'll just help with any infections." As Beast held up a needle for Heath to study, the young Knight squirmed slightly at the sight of the strange object. If the boy really was from the medieval times, then he'd be at risk to all the strong diseases that most have grown used to, such as a common cold and other more simple things that mean nothing to most, yet could kill him with his weaker immune system. As Beast was done with Heath's wound, Heath then very quickly pulled his shirt back on, then remained with his arms folded over his chest with embarrassment seen on his face.
"What was your name again?" Beast asked Heath as he picked up a clipboard and a pen, Heath stared at the odd items in his hands, the demon seemed to be acting as if he was about to write something.. but that wasn't a quill in his hand.
"S-Sir Ulrich von Liechten.. Liechtenstein." He mumbled with a slight nervous stutter, the doctor's pen scratched across the paper. Why did they want to write his name down, the healers normally didn't write his name down.... his healers normally weren't monsters though.. Beast put aside the clipboard so he could remember then name for when he talked with Xavier over the matter. Beast looked over towards Lauren and then moved towards her, reaching into his pocket and withdrawing some notes of money for her.
"Take him with you to the dance with the other students, see how he reacts the modern day things and then we'll know for certain." He spoke quietly as Heath shifted off towards the window to stare out at all the students that where moving off to the dark, the sky turning dark as the sun began to set.
Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.
Re: Each timeline is different, just like now and medieval t
It’s not as if Lauren had never seen a guys chest before, some of her male friends didn’t mind showing off who had the better body, then there were all the guys you see down the beaches on Summer days, you see it on TV and even at trips to the Footy, whether it be at just a local game or at AFL level. So it was nothing new to her but since Heath didn’t like it she turned around and let Beast do his stuff.
Hearing the footsteps as Mr. McCoy made his way over to her Lauren turned back around to face the large blue furry mutant. As he spoke she looked down at the money then back up to his face, before smiling and taking the money, well she couldn’t be rude and not take it when he was offering!
Lauren: "Sure, Mr. McCoy. See ya next Bio lesson!"
After that she looked around the room until she saw the Knight standing by one of the windows and quickly rushed over to him. She’d have to be quick if she was going to get out of these wet clothes and into something nice and dry.
Lauren: "C’mon, we don’t want to be late to the dance!"
She quickly said after seeing some of the students begin to leave, not really explaining to the Knight what the whole dance was really about. Quickly hurrying to the sliding doors she turned around and gestured for Heath to hurry as she seemed to get into one of those moods where you seem to rush around and try and do heaps of things at once, which Lauren always seemed to get whenever she was excited about something.
Instead of leading Heath straight back down to the Front Hall right away she lead him in the opposite direction, towards the dorms. Most of the few people they seemed to pass were all dressed up rather nicely and making their way in the opposite direction, obviously heading towards the front hall so they could leave. Finally reaching her own room Lauren opened the door, luckily the first thing she saw in there was her new black skirt and a pale purple coloured top, which seemed to go well with the purple stars in the skirt, laid out on her bed. The luck mutant had gotten ready a little earlier this morning before classes so she could set out her clothes, knowing that she wouldn’t get time to choose something after them.
Lauren: "Wait right here…"
She said taking a step into her room, closing the door and making a b-line towards a closet which remained rather empty apart from a towel hanging in there to dry. She quickly rubbed her hair in between the towel so her hair would dry, then she rushed over to her bed and changed out of her wet clothes and into her warm dry ones, slipping on some black boots while she was at it. She made her way over to her desk, pulled open a drawer, which was home to many, many, different bracelets, rings and necklaces. She slipped on some black and purple beaded bracelets and a silver ring with a purple amethyst stone in it. The stone wasn’t too big, but it was just the right size to suit the style. Lauren had a habit for buying lots of rings and bracelets.
Picking up her brush she made her way to the mirror and brushed her hair, leaving it out like she normally did, Lauren was never really all that fussed in wearing her hair up at anytime. Placing the brush back on her desk she quickly looked at her skirt, making sure it looked alright since she still felt weird wearing one, as her hand reached the door handle to open it Lauren pulled it back. She couldn’t let Heath go in his damp clothes… then she remembered, there were some clothes in her other closet from when she started, incase someone had come and didn’t bring clothes with them.
She wandered back to the closet and opened it, flicking past the girls clothes and stopping at the guys clothes. There were a few tops and shirts, as well as pants that went with most of the tops. She pulled all of them out and carried them, by the coat hanger, to the door, holding them out to Heath.
Lauren: "Here, not sure if you like them, but at least it’s dryer than what you’ve got on."
She moved out of the way to allow Heath to get changed in her room. It may be a little messy but the floor was see-able which was an improvement from her room back in Australia. One of the last things her mum had told her before she left, well it was more of a plead; to keep her room tidy. She made it sound so important too, tidiness wasn’t everything. Well at least it was better than getting changed in the hallway.

Re: Each timeline is different, just like now and medieval t"C’mon, we don’t want to be late to the dance!" Heath looked startled as she appeared at his side so suddenly, all the kids wore such strange clothes and those 'cars' where moving away from this castle. He was growing worried, none of this was normal, even the healers, the people, the way they talked and even the way they moved and the way they where all so clean and well kept. He was going to a dance? He liked dancing.. he was very good at dancing, he always learned the new steps very easily as well. It was still nerving to be going to a dance if everyone so far was acting very weird..
As Lauren hastily moved over towards the sliding doors Heath followed after her since she motioned for him to go, rubbing his arm where the needle had been jabbed into his skin. She was excited but he wasn't sure if he liked this.. demonic monsters healing people made him very uncomfortable, his eyes remained glued on Beast as they left the room. He was still uneasy by the doors opening on their own, and whenever people passed them they where all strangely dressed and it made him very uncomfortable because he wasn't dressed as them. They came to a door, Heath unable to read the name that was written across a golden plaque to signal whose room it was. His eyes rested on the name for a moment even though he couldn't read it, it wasn't fair, his friend tried to teach him how to read but it was hard to focus on his lessons since they where always interrupted for his training sessions. He learnt to spell his real name (Only Heath) and that was a weeks worth of study. He couldn't actually read the letters, he could just know which one goes where for his name, but that's only because his friend had him writing it out all the time until he got it perfect, and he never did, his writing was messy and always traveled off the lines so he never was able to move on. And his frustration never helped, half the time he'd just throw the quill across the stables and watch it flutter gently to the ground if the ink spilled over his paper or smudged.
"Wait right here…" It was very frightening when the door closed and he was left on his own, his back turning to the door and his eyes darting down each way of the hall every other minute. He could hear her movements inside her room, some people passed him and stared as he waited like he was ordered to out side Lady Laurens room. After a while the door opened and he turned to see her, she was in a dress.. well.. a skirt, but Heath didn't know the difference really. He felt a little more at ease to see her in a dress instead of men’s clothing. Watching as she moved over to where she seemed to store her clothes, she returned shortly after with a collection in her hand and held them out for him. He's never seen a coat hanger before and he seemed intrigued by them, staring at the coat hangers and how the clothes hang so perfectly from those odd shaped metal.. thingies..
"Here, not sure if you like them, but at least it’s dryer than what you’ve got on." Slowly his hands took hold of the hangers with the clothes, he didn't want to intrude on her room.. that and it was normally forbidden for a Knight to be within a ladies chambers unescorted, but at the same time how else was he to change? Couldn't he be given a spare quarters at least so he didn't have to change within a ladies room... With a bow of his head Heath slowly moved within her room, watching as she closed the door behind him, his eyes then darting around, there was a dresses, a screen that he could hide behind so he could change without worries of being spied upon.
It was odd to see the chamber of a lady in such a mess, his mother had always said that ladies keep their rooms in order, his eyes glanced about nervously as he placed the clothes down upon her bed. After a moment of staring at the door, Heath began to sort through the different tops, he stared at the pants for a moment, with a frown he let his fingers run along the zip. Picking it up, he very slowly moved back towards the door, trying to figure out what it was but then opening it still dressed in his damp and cold clothes as he showed her the zip.
"What does one do with this?" He asked very quietly, he felt like a peasant in a rich mans castle.. well that's what he was.. but he didn't like feeling like this that. As soon as she showed him how to operate the odd device he withdrew back into the room and stared at it some more, mimicking how she had done it with her own fingers. It felt strange now, having no servants helping him, it was different when a servant helped him change, they where.. they where different to Nobles.. He removed his sword, letting it down lightly onto the floor and then slowly preceded with remove the rest of his damp clothes to quickly be replaced with dryer ones.
He felt strange once he was done dressing, staring down at his bare arms, since he's been a Knight he hasn't worn sleeveless shirts. It was like they where dressing him as peasant, but at the same time, the fabric felt much better and far more smooth then what he was used to, even as a Knight. It was all so light and yet warm, it was nice, even if it did seem very simple, he wouldn't mind wearing these, his hand moved over the blue top, the t-shirt had a white strip across his chest, it was an odd pattern. He wondered how they created it so smooth and perfectly into the fabric, it was a darker shade of blue, but not too dark, his black trousers felt very odd, they where so light and smooth and easy to move about in. Everything was so dark in colours, normally Nobles wore the lighter colours, for when you wear dark it's normally used to hide the stains of continuous wear.
The only thing that hinted to him not being of this modern time right now was the old brown skin boots that he wore on his feet. Even the way they where designed, just the way they sat on his body, the shirt didn't need to be wrapped around him and the threads where all so small it was impossible to see them. His fingers moved up his chest and rested just on the thin black leather string that hang around his neck. His parents made it for him, before he left to become a Knight, they where ill, he probably wouldn't have left so soon if they hadn't died, but there was no way he could survive on his own where they lived, he couldn't stay on the farm, he had to find another place to live and he only just happened to come across Sir Arthur Kingsley, who offered him a meal and soon discovered Heath's hidden talents and so took him on in order to train and teach him.
It was Sir Kinglsey who gave Heath the last name of 'Knight', since Heath wanted to be called so desperately, but how could one not of noble blood ever become a Knight, it was unheard of. Lady Lauren was being so kind to him, and had saved his life, and yet he was still lying to her because he was afraid of losing what Knighthood he has finally found. He felt terrible, he felt like a cheat and liar, and that's what he was, wasn't it, because he wasn't a Noble born and even if he was a Champion Knight he wasn't truly a Knight because of him not being born with noble blood.
Picking up his clothes and folding them, and then left them neatly on the floor beside her bed, over his sword, none of the people around here he noticed carried weapons. He wasn't going to carry one if it wasn't the way of these folks, if he got into any troubles he was very capable of using his own body as a weapon. But his spirits where down as he opened the door and stared at the ground instead of the noble girl before him. He felt so below her, and he was lying to her even after she had saved his life, and now she dressed him so finely in her clothes and still he covered her eyes with lies. His fingers played with the thing leather string that hang about his neck, this was all he had of his old life, and most of the time it was hidden beneath his clothes, but these shirts where so simple and basic there was nowhere for it to hide.
Other then his odd shoes, Heath appeared very modern day looking in appearance, his hair a little messy, though since a lot of guys had similar hairstyles it didn't appear out of date or odd looking. However Heath's expression seemed rather down and depressed, he didn't want her to spend any further time with him because the more he spent with her the kinder she seemed and the guiltier he grew.
"My Lady.... I have deceived you and I am sorry and I ask not for your forgiveness, I am not a Knight, nor even of Noble blood. I was born to Christina and John Thatchet from the farms just outside the village, both of whom are deceased.." Although it may have seemed he was about to admit as to not being from the past, it slowly seemed to sound as if he was still sticking to being from the old days, and as he continued to quickly explain how he has come to tell her the lie that has caused him such stress, it become even more clear that he wasn't at all seeming to be kidding about his origins.
"I am Heath Andrew Thatchet and was given the name Heath Knight by my Lord, the Knight Sir Arthur Kingsley, he was poisoned by the Black Knight, Sir Maximus O'Doyal and he asked me to avenge him with his dying breaths. I took his amour.. I defeated Maximus and then the King called me his Champion. I then met a man who could read and write and he created a name for me to use so I may continue fighting for his Majesty's honor." His eyes remained shamefully downwards to the ground so that he could not see what he was convinced would be disgust in the eyes of the young Lady. He was a good Knight, even if he was young, he was a Champion, he could fool the nobles into thinking he was equal with them.. but he wasn't and lying was not the way of a true Knight, it was shameful and dishonorable.
"I know it is a crime for a mere peasant to wear the robes of a noble, and death for me should the King discover these lies, I did not mean to harm nor did I desire to betray your trust Lady Lauren. My life is your to do with as your please, to set free or to destroy, I care not for what is to come.." If he could not be a Knight, then there was nothing left for him, and he didn't care if he was handed over to the king on charges of treachery and lies. He didn't like lying, so it wasn't a punishment, he proved he was a good Knight, he was the kings champion for over a year because of his skills, not because of a family name, but because of the skills he has worked hard to learn.
Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.
Re: Each timeline is different, just like now and medieval t
Hearing the door open Lauren looked over as Heath emerged from her room. Hopefully he remembered how to use the zipper, she had never thought about them being strange to someone from the past before. A smile spread across her face at his choice of clothing, but quickly faded at the look upon the Knight’s face. Why did he look so depressed? The clothes didn't look bad at all...
"My Lady.... I have deceived you and I am sorry and I ask not for your forgiveness, I am not a Knight, nor even of Noble blood. I was born to Christina and John Thatchet from the farms just outside the village, both of whom are deceased.." As he started speaking Lauren began to question him in her thoughts, he wasn’t really a Knight after all? Why would someone do such a thing and lie like that? It wasn’t funny at all, if no one had of noticed him in the water he could have ended up drowning, even if he was a strong swimmer. Then again, maybe it was something else that Heath was on about… Lauren’s not so quick thinking mind listening carefully…
I then met a man who could read and write and he created a name for me to use so I may continue fighting for his Majesty's honor." He could have just said that his name was Heath in the first place, that’s much easier to say than his false name! Lauren knew very little about history, even though she had done history classes, it was all about the 20th century. Though her main knowledge about the past included information about what bands and fashion were in five years ago. So she didn’t really know about what it took to become a Knight, and what honour they carried, basically all she knew was that they rode horses and wore armour.
"I know it is a crime for a mere peasant to wear the robes of a noble, and death for me should the King discover these lies, I did not mean to harm nor did I desire to betray your trust Lady Lauren. My life is your to do with as your please, to set free or to destroy, I care not for what is to come.." So he lied? It’s no big deal; people lie all the time, whether it is small or big. Virtually the lie was about his name so he could fight as a Knight, though it seemed to be much bigger than that to him, maybe it extended further in the past. But it didn’t really mean too much to her, people lied to get jobs all the time, even some of her friends lied for their part time jobs, and that’s all it seemed to mean to her.
Lauren: "It’s alright, there’s nothing to worry about. Actually, I’m glad you told me that, Heath’s much easier to say than your other name! … Not that it’s a bad name or anything…"
She spoke rather reassuringly quickly adding the last sentence incase she offended Heath in some way about his rather long and tricky false name. But it was sort of a relief to the luck mutant to know that she didn't have to call him Sir Ulrich von Liechtenstein from now on... unless he requested her to call him by that name...
Lauren; "It doesn’t matter about the clothes either. If you want we’ll be the only two people who know about it."
She smiled, well who was she really going to tell? That sort of topic doesn’t really come up in convocation, and even if she did want to tell someone what was she going to do about it? Write a letter to the King of England who lives in 1348? They weren’t her clothes anyway, they were left for people who had come without a change of clothes, luckily Lauren hadn’t given them to one of the teachers to place in a another room yet, otherwise he’d probably have to run around in his soggy and stained shirt.
Lauren: "You’re a free man! But, you still have to come to the dance, so let’s go!"
She quickly added the part about the dance as she remembered what Beast had told her. After she finished speaking she turned around and began walking back towards the front hall, passing the sliding doors of Beat in the med bay once again. There probably was a quicker way back to the front hall, but Lauren remembered this route and she didn’t to risk getting lost, like she had already done a few times. It was a little embarrassing showing up to two maths classes late because you got lost, especially when you were in the same classroom all the time for that class.
Once reaching the front hall Lauren was confronted by a girl from her Art class, Jessica, who asked if they were also going to the dance at the Dying Star Nightclub and if they wanted a lift them. Accepting the offer Jessica led them towards the last limo remaining. There were already a few people in there, Lauren recognised some of the faces in there as she peered inside, some were in her a few of her classes, others she had seen walking around the halls, and there were others she hadn’t seen until now. Before stepping into the limo she assured Heath that it was fine to come inside the ‘stretchy-car’ and that it’d be a safe travel.
