Edward Draven and Rebecca Draven (fire away)
Player's Name: Hank
E-Mail: mreynolds.stu@ocu.edu
Other means of Contact: ezinBox

Name: Edward Draven
Nickname: Ed
Code Name: Necromancer
Affiliation: Brotherhood
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Birthday: October 31st
Hair: Jet black
Eyes: Purple
Mother: Amber Draven, deceased, made up, human
Father: Richard Draven, alive, made up human
Sister: Rebecca Draven, alive, Made up, mutant

Physical Description: The first thing most people notice about Edward are his dark purple eyes. They have a tendency to make a person feel as if he is staring into their very soul with the near electric intensity within them. They are set within a pale angular face and framed by his shoulder length straight black hair. His actual body is very lean, with some definition from his father training him in fighting and his own training in acrobatics. This also gives him a slightly springy step when he walks. Taken on there own, none of these features are particularly attractive, but combined they are very striking.

Height wise, Ed is a little shorter than normal for a guy, standing at about 5’5” (168 cm for the aussies out there!) with a fairly light build. Edward prefers to wear dark colored clothing, mainly in blacks and grays with a little purple or red thrown in. He normally wears some old jeans, jogging shoes, and a hooded sweatshirt, though if he was to go out to a club or something he would dress up a little more. His voice tends to be a little dry and sardonic, except in an emergency when he takes a more serious, no bull approach to the situation.

Powers: Edward’s main power is like his codename implies: The ability to infuse a corpse with a portion of his life force, allowing him to raise and control the dead. These animations have only limited discretion, meaning that if Ed were to leave one on guard duty, it would attack anyone who tried to enter the place it was guarding, even if the person was an ally of Ed’s. They also cannot think for themselves. Ed is able to posses his constructs, in essence putting his mind within one of these zombies. Upon the zombies destruction, his mind returns to his original body. This is not limited to the remains of people, since Ed can also animate animals.

Raising a body into a pseudo life is hard. This is shown by the weakening of Ed immediately after he animates a body. The most he can do and remain able to move is three bodies per day. After raising this many, Ed needs a two day break from animating bodies to replenish his depleted life force. Ed can consistently animate one body a day, but his energy is severely depleted and after five days his body shuts down until it gets enough rest. Since a part of his life force is in the corpses, Ed can see and hear whatever is going on near one if he concentrates hard enough.

So far, Ed can only keep five zombies running at a time. The figthing ability of the zombies decreases with the number actively being controlled at one time. If he does not direct the zombies actions with his commands, they attack in a manner similar to a rabid animal.

These zombies are not the shambling type of zombies seen in B-horror flicks. Instead, these attack with the type of mindless aggression seen in modern zombie flicks like 28 Days Later. The upper limit of how many zombies Ed can control is not known, but he cannot have too many around because of storage reasons. Also, when Ed animates a body, the decomposition process is stopped by the life force placed inside of it.

Because of his unique metabolism and physiology, Ed is immune to death auras and life draining attacks. His powers can be temporarily taken, but he is not weakened or otherwise affected besides the temporary loss of his powers. It is theorized that Ed will eventually be able to take and use a portion of the life forces of others to fuel his creations.

Ed also has occasional flashes of memory from the body he is animating. He might be able to sort through the memories of his zombies if he gets enough practice, enabling him to recover information from a corpse.

Personality: Ed is fairly laid back when it comes to other people, but cannot abide laziness. He is surprisingly loyal to his allies. Ed is a little obsessive about cleaning, mainly because he likes knowing where everything is. He is fairly cautious from being raised for a good part of his life in an environment of violence. He views mutants as being generally superior to humans, but has been known to make exceptions on this point, such as his view of his father as an equal. His main reason for desiring the overthrow of human societies is because he thinks that humans have made a mess of the world, and that there is no way that mutants could do worse. His opinions towards law and order are that they are flimsy suggestions about behavior, to be disregarded as seen fit. Edward is not capricious in the use of violence, only using the amount of force needed. He is willing to kill if there is no other way to achieve his objectives, but it is never the first option he uses. Even though he owes his life in part to Hernandez, Edward has a severe hatred of drugs.

Likes: His family, loyalty, dogs, friends, alternative rock, crowds. Brunettes, but a girl being blond or redheaded isn’t a deal breaker. Graveyards, night, funerals. (What? A guy has to get his bodies somewhere!)

Dislikes: Drugs, disloyalty, governments, military personnel, cops.

Name: Rebecca Draven
Nickname: Becca
Codename: Bleah, one of those dumb things! I don't think so!
Affiliation: Brotherhood, but mainly because of her brother
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Birthday: October 31st
Hair: Curly Blonde, shoulder blade length and wild.
Eyes: Purple
Mother: Amber Draven, deceased, made up, human
Father: Richard Draven, alive, made up human
Brother: Edward Draven, alive, made up, mutant

Physical Description: Instead of the sharp features of her twin brother, Rebecca's are softer, accentuating an innate beauty. Her purple eyes seem to have a fire within them, and her medium range voice always seems to have some laughter in it. Of course, it has that laughter in it even when she is in a fight. She is the same height as her twin, standing at 5'5'' and weights 120 lbs. Her weight is in muscle, as she has trained in gymnastics and hand to hand fighting. It gives her an attractive athletic figure. Upon meeting her, one is not sure if she is happy about everything or just a little maniacal. She is very stealthy when she moves. She has rather simple tastes, prefering simple jeans and t-shirts.

Powers: Rebecca has the ability of minor transmutation, able to change her hands and forearm into a light but durable metal. She can also change the shape of this metal, which is a lightweight, but highly durable and strong, organic steel. Her hands can also work as armor, and damage done to her metal hands can rapidly heal, almost like a liquid metal. She is also able to shape small amounts of this metal into small spikes and launch them at enimies. However, they are not large enough to kill, but they can wound.

Personality: Rebecca has a tendancy to look at the brighter side of life. In a fight, this tends to take the form of "Isn't it nice that these claws of mine are buried in you and not in me?" She has a severe temper, and often has to rely on her brother's more level head to anchor her. She also seems to be on a perpetual caffine and sugar high. Occasionally, she gets overconfident in her training and her powers. This can lead to her getting in over her head, but she refuses to admit that she needs help, often claiming that she needs the challenge.

Likes: Coffee!!! Ed and her daddy Richard. Dancing, driving Ed crazy, fighting and parties. Irritating people enough so that they start fights she can finish.

Dislikes: Quite, sitting still, waiting, fools.

History: Ed and Rebecca Draven lost there mother when they were three years old. Their mother was trying to influence some state level legislators to pass legislation securing equal rights for mutants, and someone didn't like it very much. She was killed by a mail bomb, leaving her husband to raise the children.

Richard was a former Navy Seal, trained in counter terrorism. None of his old associates were willing to help him learn who killed his wife, and this resulted in him hating the government he had formerly protected. To make money to support his children, Richard decided to engage in mercenary work to gain money. He placed his children with his parents as guardians to help keep them safe, visiting whenever he could. He raised his children to believe that only the strong could survive, since Richard's wife had been one of the gentlest souls around and had died because of her kindness. During his visits, he often ranted about how his former associates in the government and military would not help him find those responsible for his wife's death.

This attitude rubbed off on his children, leaving both Ed and Rebbecca very suspicious of governments and authority figures. Both also noticed that their grandparents also seemed rather distant, mainly because there grandparents had a hard time accepting their son's abandonment of all he believed in. The only beings Richard was ever happy around were his two children when he visited, but when his kids were around nine, he stopped visiting since he had been employed by a drug lord in Coloumbia with many enemies, and he was afraid that his children would be used against him.

Ed was always a bit of a loner, rairly socializing and not making many friends. This was nearly the total opposite of his sister, who always talked with everyone and had lots of friends. Often, she would ask Ed to go with her and her friends to places, hoping to get him out of his shell. Ed mainly followed along because he thought that it was his duty to look after his sister. While Rebecca got along with with people easily, Ed found areas of quiet and solitude much more fun.

Ed got a dog when he was a young boy as well. Rebecca always helped with it, mainly because she just liked helping her brother out. Both of them were standing not twelve feet away when the dog was ran over by a truck. Ed ran onto the road, holding the dogs head close to himself. He felt a strange sensation of weakening, as if something was passing out of him as he wanted his dog to live. Rebecca saw that a strange, black-purple energy flow from the center of Ed's body and flow down to his hands and into the dog. The dog suddenly stood upright, but there was no breathing and several bones were sticking out of it.

Naturally, both kids freaked out about this at first. But after a few minutes, both also got curious as 11 year olds are liable to do. They started looking the dead dog over, and wondered what had happened. Both wondered if it was a freaky magic quirk, some form of techno organic virus, or a hallucination. Rebecca was the one who figured out that her brother was a mutant. They decided to bring the creature home and see how it worked. They learned that Ed was able to control the dog.

This was fine for about a week. Then one of Rebecca's friends saw Ed controlling the dead dog. She naturally screamed about an evil mutant to all the rest of the school. Ed had been a semi loner, prefering to read and study instead of gossip. He thought that being alone would not be a problem. But as it turned out, he hadn't realised how it felt to be truely segregated. The only person who would talk to him was his own sister.

Right when everyone thought that the month couldn't get any worse, a rival cartel in South America thought that the best way to remove some competition would be by blackmailing a head of security to remove the competition. This security head was Ed and Rebecca's dad.

These people thought that the best way to accomplish their goals would be by abducting both Ed and Rebecca, and holding them hostage. This actually wound up being a mistake. Richard's employer was also a physically powerful mutant, and between the two of them, they annihilated this competition. However, right before they hit the complex where Ed and Rebecca were, Rebecca's mutation activated, with her accidently killing one of these abductors.

Both children freaked out about seeing a thirty-five foot long dragon thing tear out a door and a good portion of the wall. What was really strange was seeing their father refer to the creature as boss and introducing it to his kids as Francis Hernandez.

Richard decided that it might be safest to keep his children nearby, both for physical safety and to help them train in their powers. Hernandez was more than willing to help out members of his own species, considering that as a drug lord he tried to divert his product from areas with high concentrations of mutants, actually losing some money based off of this principle. Hernandez saw to it that both children recieved the best in tutoring and education that he could buy. He also helped them learn about their abilities and how to control them.

Their father taught them about the arts of war, self-defense, and death. Richard really didn't see much use in most humans, considering that most humans wished to kill all mutants, meaning that they wished to kill his children as well. This peculiar line of logic resulted in Richard being willing to wage a war against humanity for the sake of his kids.

By a fortunate coiencidence, the identity of the killer of Richard's wife, Ed and Rebecca's daughter, was found out. All three family members decided that they needed to pay the man a visit. Richard and Rebecca tortured the man to find out what he knew. It turned out that a group of the Church of Humanity had ordered the bombing. The man also told them where this group was. Seeing a chance for an ironic strike, Ed killed the man, animated his body, then placed several pounds of military grade plastique explosive on the body. Then Ed had the body go into the group before detonating the explosives.

It was a bonding moment for the family.

Based on the news that they had recieved out of America, Ed and Rebecca had gradually became aware of the dangers posed based on their uniquie genetic makeup. Based on Ed's studing of history, he came to the conclusion that unless mutants could gain a position of strength in the world, they would eventually be exterminated. Rebecca didn't care much about the whole historical context aproach, but she did blame humans for breaking up her familiy.

Re: Edward Draven~Necromancer
Hiya,

Sorry for the wait! So without further ado..

Height: 5.5ft is roughly 168cm! 140cm but be Hobbit size XD

Powers: It'd be good to have at least a vague maximum of how many creatures he can raise and keep "alive" at a time.

History: Please expand on his everyday life and make his age at certain stages clearer. For example, how old was he when helping his father kill the murderer of his mother?

Also, hadn't Ed had any non-mutant friends? After all, he hadn't even KNOWN he was a mutant up to a certain point, so why the strong anti-human sentiments?

Generally, some more detail on normal life things would be nice, including what happened to his sister, what their relationship was like and whether he lived without any social contacts after the kidnapping.

Personality: Would he ever kill somebody just to use them as his puppet at some point?

Those are the things springing to mind right away. It's pretty late here so sorry if it's a really short critique, I just wanted to finally give you some feedback.

You'll get my stamp once these things are cleared... you'll need two stamps to bring him into play. And for future reference: after having got one chara accepted, you don't need to do sample posts ever again! ;)

Yay! Hight explainations specifically for us Aussie!!

10 zombies is a might much isn't it? Perhaps have him start off with a max of 3-5.. let him progress over time. You alsop contradict yourslf.. or you've confused me... where you say he can raise three in a day then get exhausted and needs two days rest, but then you say he can control up to 10 at once.

Other then that, I'm fine with most well...lest someone else has a comment to give.

Re: Edward Draven~Necromancer
Well, he can raise only three in a day, but they stay animated. If he animates some one day then a few more later in the week, he has more that he can control.

Oh, I also forgot to add a limitation. The more he is controlling, the less individual control he has over them. He normally only keeps around 3-5 active at a time, since he has a harder time specifically commanding a larger amount.

The main reason for the 10 bodies being animated is for him to keep around half of them in storage so he doesn't have to resort to as much grave robbing or flat out murder when some of them are destroyed.

Should have stuck that part in the powers, and I'll get on it.

thanks!

Re: Edward Draven~Necromancer
Wolverine is short and hairy, so he is like a hobbit.

A violent, impossible to kill, Canadian hobbit with few people skills.

Who can whip almost everyone in a barfight.

It does make a funny image if you replace any of the hobbits in The Lord of the Rings with Wolverine. All the scenes of running from the Ringwraithes include a lot more violence.

So sorry, have a stamp

There comes a time in everyone's life when they have to take over responsibility. The question remains whether there is also a time when we can get rid of it again.
