Shade Alpha

Shade Beta
Personality: Calm, collected, and eerily at ease in some of the most trying situations, this is a man that rarely allows himself to fall into a state of panic or shock. Instead he has an air of dignity about him, seeming to be the kind of guy you can count on to pull through when the going gets tough. He is intelligent and resourceful, often knowing just what the person he's talking to wants to hear. Though this can make it difficult to figure out if he's being honest, becuase what you want to hear is often very different from the truth. He can also be considered a bit of a flirt, as he often has kind things to say to the women he encounters, though he's never pursued any kind of meaningful relationship with anyone. As for combat situations, his demeanor is very much the same. Calm and collected, only breaking that calmness in very specific situations. He respects any opponent so long as they are strong, but he despises the weak and has no problems destroying those he feels shouldn't be pilots. Thankfully that respect means he's much more likely to cripple or disable an opponents mech rather than destroying it and killing the pilot. This is because he wants those strong pilots to improve themselves so he can have a more fullfilling battle when next they meet.
History:
Eric was born on Mars and grew up in Vacilia County, the same county that BAHRAM would make it's own before it took control over Mars. It was home to the greatest number of Earth hating peoples, and as a result often met with the most severe prejudices and injustices. Because of this, Eric did not have a happy childhood. The community was close knit, but the UNSF forces were very good at being oppressive bastards to anyone they saw fit to abuse. Though Eric didn't begin to hate the Earth until a very traumatic incident. The Earth forces were testing a new weapon on Mars, as they considered the people of Mars garbage and cared little for whatever damage the test might cause. However, there was an accident that resulted in the destruction of civilian residencies that could not be ignored. Unwilling to admit they were responsible, the UNSF claimed the destruction was caused by terrorist and rounded up random Martians off the street. One of these Martians was Eric's mother. On live television, for all to see, the UNSF executed the "terrorist" they gathered and in self fullfilling bravado announced that this would be the fate of any "terrorist" that opposed the Earth.
After that incident, Eric developed a bitter hatred for the Earth and vowed to one day get revenge. It just so happened that an extremist group called BAHRAM, that vowed to fight for the freedom and independence of Mars, was gaining ground at this time and that this incident would help spark their eventual takeover. Eric quickly joined this group while still relatively young and his determination in getting vengeance caused certain higher ups in the group to take notice of him. Thus he was made a test pilot and helped them take over when they made themselves known to the galaxy in a much more public way by becoming the new leaders of Mars. His privileged role as a test pilot allowed him the honor of piloting one of the few, but quite powerful, manned Orbital Frames. Orbital Frames were BAHRAM's secret weapons in the war and he took to them with remarkable speed. In fact, his adaption to these new weapons was so remarkable they offerred him a chance to take part in an experiment.
He glaldy volunteered to take part in the experiment even after he learned the details of what would be done to him, his hatred for the Earth and his loyalty to BAHRAM were just that damn strong. Many surgeries would be performed on him as parts were removed and replaced with minaturized versions of Metatron technology. Heavy augmentation was done and the end result was what one would call a super soldier made specifically for one very special Orbital Frame known as Sekmet. It was very similar in design to a certain other BAHRAM project, though there were certain features that helped diferentiate the two. One being an advanced piloting system that in many ways made Sekmet a Super Orbital Frame. Eric then took full advantage of the finished project in the final month of the war, gaining quite the kill ratio before the incident with the Solar Cannon. However, after that incident the Allied forces made a crushing counterattack that overwhelmed the area Sekmet was defending and it was beaten due to the enemy's sheer numbers.
In the confusion that followed BAHRAM's defeat, due mainly to the destruction caused by the Solar Cannon being turned on them, the facility used for the experients on Eric and most of the details on the Sekmet were destroyed. It's disappearance didn't really help either when the only real data they could recover was that something called Sekmet existed and that it was considered a powerful Orbital Frame. It was eentually listed as destroyed, but that was from from the truth. During that final battle of the war, Eric had been so overwhelmed by the number of enemies being thrown at him that the feedback from his control system overloaded and caused him to lose conciousness. When he eventually awakened, he'd lost many of his memories. The only real details about himself that he could recall were his name, the name of the Orbital Frame he was in, and how to use all of the systems and features of both the Orbital Frame and the Shade System.
With no real knowledge on who he was, why he had the weapons he did, or why he was even a pilot, one would think his first actions would have been to figure out his past. Eric didn't do that at all. Instead he decided to figure out the current conditions in the galaxy and noting a war had just ended and tensions were likely to still exist, he decided he'dput his skills to good use and make some money too. He became a mercenary and he was pretty damn good at it too. Hell, he even decided his past didn't matter to him. As far as he knew it sucked anyways and he might owe people some money, so he made up a last name, a mercenary alias to go with his new lifestyle, and he hasn't looked back since.
Weapon:
Katana- A high quality katana that generally has a mere decorative role, this weapon is still pretty useful. Some people are intimidated by it's mere presence though Eric's reason for having it is a just in case kind of thing. You never know when you might need to cut something with a bit of finesse.
Dual Command Pistols- Two semi-automatic handguns that have been heavily customized to successfully load and fire .454 Casull rounds. Each gun can hold 20 round clips, and the stopping power of the .454 Casull coupled with this decent clip size allows Eric to get off 40 shots from these powerful handguns in a relatively short period of time. It's known that these guns can pierce most forms of body armor, which makes them even more dangerous.
Special Features:
Shade System- The end result of the experimental procedures done to Eric. The Shade System applies miniaturized versions of many forms of Metatron Technology. The miniaturized technologies include the Anti-Stealth Sonar, Self Supporting Armor, Vector Traps, Metatron Computer and Metatron Weapons. What this essentially means is that Eric has been made into a kind of living OF, as he shares many of the same components. Though certain things are different, namely the purpose of the Vector Traps. Where most OFs use them for storing sub-weapons, Eric's Vector Traps contain the two different forms of the Shade System, Shade Alpha and Shade Beta. These are self contained, full body combat armors that allow Eric to work the MIPS of Sekmet. They also act as piloting suits, providing air for space operations as well as protection against the elements.
Shade Alpha- The form most often seen when the Shade System is activated, a kind of swordsman form that focuses on speed and precision. In this form, Eric is extremely fast, agile, and flexible. Think of him as Spiderman on coke with some speed thrown in for good measure, only he can't crawl on walls or shoot webs at you. It has a light metatron armor and very basic weaponry. These weapons being two Metatron Energy Swords that can be likened to handheld versions of the Halberd sub-weapon. The main difference being that these have a much shorter range, as they are swords and not powerful guns. The other two weapons are stored in the forearm armor, being miniaturized versions of the Phalanx sub-weapon. They are essentially forearm mounted beam machineguns.
Shade Beta- The form of the Shade System used when Eric needs to blow @#%$ up but he can't use the Sekmet to do it with, such as situations involving sabotage or escaping from dangerous locations whie on foot. While still faster than a normal person, Shade Beta emphasizes firepower and tanking enemies. It has a heavier metatron armor and more pronounced weaponry. These weapons being what can essentially be described as two metatron energy whooping sticks, only these whooping stick slice and dice instead of pummel and bash, and two miniaturized metatron cannons. The two cannons can be charged up to fire more powerful shots, similar to a Burst Attack. The best strategy when faced with Shade Beta, run the hell away.
Metatron Withdrawal- There is a downside to Eric's Shade System, a downside that makes an otherwise perfect augmentation kind of suck. This is a weekly need for Metatron transfusions. Once a week he needs to insert rods of Metatron into a device that syphons off Metatron energy from the rods. These rods run dry in a week, give or take a few hours, which explains the weekly schedule. If he fails to make a transfusion, he'll enter a state of Metatron withdrawal. At first it isn't so bad, his body is merely hit with a consistent wave ofmild pain that slowly intensifies as time passes. But if toomuch time passes, the many systems implanted into his body will begin to shut down and he'll find it exceedingly difficult to move or breath. If he goes too long without his transfusion, he'll die. Thankfully, Sekmet can provide a temporary charge that generally last one day.
