Evanescence's Amy Lee no fan of Christina and Britney
Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears may have legions of fans around the world, but Evanescence's Amy Lee isn't one of them.

The lead singer of the band that brought us "Bring Me Back To Life" and "Going Under" told Stepping Out magazine, "Spears doesn't rock. She's a mechanical pop robot. Basically she's a puppet."

Lee's words for Aguilera are even harsher: "Britney isn't as bad as Christina when it comes to showing skin, Christina shows a lot more. They both seem to be competing with each other." Lee says she finds their antics tragic and sad.

Evanescence begins its European tour in Portugal on October 7. The group does not have any U.S. dates on its agenda at this time.

Well the fact that they show skin is kinda like the best thing that Christina and Britney do :p , although I have to admit that sometimes they put out some acceptable songs, more so for Aguilera as for Spears. >D

Christina Aguilere
I agree that Britney is some pop robot, but Christina Aguilera has some voice. More so on her album Stripped, than her others. Some of her songs, beautiful, and the voice within have a positive message, and she has got some vocals on her. Cant hold us down also has an excellent message, but I dont happen to like the song because I personally hate hip hop, rap, and pop, which it is a mix of. I will however say that Christina Aguilera's vocals are nothing compared to the pipe organ the Amy Lee has for a voice box!!!

Evanescence back on tour
Evanescence returned to the stage Sunday (May 16) with a one-off show in Florida before jetting off to Europe for a headlining tour that began on 20 May.

The band had been on a two-month break after being on the road for over a year straight, and singer Amy Lee told that they welcomed the time off. "We needed it so badly," Lee said. "By the end of the last tour, we were just, like, suffering through it, the last couple of weeks of it. It was just like, 'Man, we've got to go home.' We just had to kind of insist that we had time off and then finally we got it, and it was just like, 'ah.' So that's why it was funny that a week later, Terry's (Balsamo, guitarist) calling, going, 'I want to go back on the road!' (laughs) So it was cool, but yeah, it was definitely very much needed by all of us."

Lee also stated that her and boyfriend, Shaun Morgan of Seether, spent two weeks during the break on a South Pacific vacation: "We went to this remote island that you have to, like, take a seaplane to get to and all this stuff. And it was great because there was a huge hurricane the last day that we were there, and we had to stay an extra day, but it was really scary. We were, like, hiding in the shower, like, with pillows and stuff, like, reading Hannibal (laughs). So it was actually a really fun trip."

About the duet of Lee with her boyfriend's band Seether, "Broken", Lee stated that she was supposed to sing on the original version 2 years ago, when Seether first recorded it, but somehow it never came together. A year later, Seether and Evanescence were touring together, Lee and Seether frontman Shaun Morgan were becoming an item, and "Broken" came back into the picture.

"I used to sing it last year," Lee said. "When we played festivals together and stuff, I'd get up and sing on a song, when I'm visiting him or when he's visiting me, if Seether's playing and I'm watching. And I guess everybody liked the way we were doing 'Broken,' and Shaun was just like, 'I don't know, why don't we just, like, record it and release it.' Of course, you know, the label thought that was really cool and wanted to put it in the soundtrack."

The new version of "Broken," with Amy on vocals, can be found on the soundtrack to the movie the Punisher.

Evanescence, along with Seether, Three Days Grace, and Breaking Benjamin, will begin a North American tour on July 7 in Canada. U.S. dates kick off on July 13 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.
