Finally
Miniscule, feline slunk silently, soundlessly through the city streets, leaping here and there occasionally to avoid a sharp heel or a bicycle tire. Black fur rippled lightly with each motion, and reflected the warm sunlight of the afternoon, small paws carrying the cat’s figure noiselessly along the street sides and roof tops of the city, slinking back as far away from the noisy crowd as possible. Long, ebony tail flickered in the creatures wake, and it’s ears were pricked for sound, but yet there was something amiss about the eyes of the creature, the two emerald orbs seemed fogged with thoughts of other places, not something seen in the ordinary ally cat.

The creature’s gaze rose to rest on the street sign, and seemed to glide across it, as if reading it; another thing not seen in many ordinary felines. A few more quiet pads on the concrete could be heard by none but the keenest ears as the blackened figure stepped out before a neglected looking building, run down and needing care badly, the brotherhood.

The only sound heard on the vacant street was the sound of a loud scratching on the door as the cat ran it’s claws down the rotted wood, awaiting to be let in. After all, to change back to normal form would mean she would need clothes, which she had none of at the moment.

A deep purr rose up in the shadow colored feline as the sound of footsteps reached her ears, and she gave another anxious scratch at the door, eager to be let in. After all, she was home.

Re: Finally
Mystique was rarely one to worry over something like a promise like this. Sure, she wasn't fussing over when Arisa would return but it had been over a week and her patience was beginning to run out. Maybe her youngest child had returned to the X-Men, instead of coming to her proper home, here at the Brotherhood.

Luckily the past week had kept her busy, and the visit from Shauna and Jason yesterday had really kept her mind off thinking about Arisa. It was her daughter's choice for the time of return, and she wasn't going to get in the way of that. The shapeshifter decided to keep the haggling to those over at Xavier's, they'd want her back and if they fussed too much over her Aris would come to her senses and stay with the right side of her family!

By now Mystique hadn't really done much to this point of the day and didn't have too much planned for the rest. Some other Brotherhood members were out doing tasks for her, or others that Magneto left for them so the place was fairly empty with a few members scattered around lazing about. Not only was the place empty, but it was also relatively quiet so sounds seemed to echo throughout the Brotherhood building... Just like that scratching sound.

Growing a sudden rush of curiosity, probably out of her boredom, Mystique followed the sound, making her way to the front door. She heard the loud purring sound that could come from one of two things, a) a cat or b) some sort of a purring mutant.

Standing on the other side of the door Mystique's skin shifted from it's usual blue colour to a dark tanned colour. Her red hair grew another few inches and faded into a reddish-brown, her yellow eyes darkened into a green. The woman she had shifted into looked as if she was in her mid 30's, although more of her physical features remained almost the same to what she normally looked like. This more humane body was one she'd grown used to using in the past few years, so those that knew of the blue mutant would know that it was her, and probably even those who had seen her a couple of times before would probably recognise who she really was if they suspected that she was Mystique.

By now there was more scratching at the door, if she didn't open the door soon, whoever was out there would have clawed their way in, so reaching for the door handle she twisted it and pulled the door towards herself. Staring straight ahead she saw no one... Her head lowered and she saw the midnight coloured cat.

This was defiantly no ordinary kitty, after all cats rarely show up on the Brotherhood's front doorstep and demand to be let in so eagerly as this one. Her head raised a little and turned as she looked at the claw marks on the front door. A nice new decoration to the old doors...

Mystique: "Arisa?"

She said casually she turned her head back towards the black cat the was in front of her, the real Mystique's voice was clear enough for the cat to figure it out. The claw marks on the door would have not been made by just any cat, nor any shapeshifter. This 'cat' would have to know how to use it's claws, the marks showed it. Mystique knew that her daughter had inherited the bone claws from her father, and shapeshifting abilities like herself, and by putting two and two together she figured it out simply.

Mystique: "Come in..."

The shapeshifter offered, with a friendly smirk and turned around and readied herself for the 'cat' to follow after her. If Aris wanted to leave she could, but if she wanted to know more about her proper family she was quite at home.

Re: Finally
Mystique: "Arisa?"

Her claws gently retracted back into the black satin of her small paw as it was brought back to the ground, her tail flickering as her mother’s voice reached her ears. Maybe the woman before her wasn’t blue skinned, nor had her characteristic red hair, but that voice was definitely Mystique’s.

Mystique: "Come in..."

Without hesitation the small obsidian pelted feline slid through the doorway and across the threshold, into the dimly lit entrance hall. The paint on the walls was old and curling, and the floor felt rough, benieth the small paws of the “cat”, as if the carpet had been warn till it was no longer soft and cushy as new carpet was to bare feet.

Glinting emerald eyes flashed up to meet Mystique’s, a pleased smile dancing in the jade color of the two orbs. A light, ‘meow,’ slid from the small creatures throat, her tail flickering behind her as she turned her head back to the rooms, eyes flickering over to the couch where she had woken up, after she had been ‘kidnapped’…

Re: Finally
At her mothers voice, Phoebe appeared at the top of the stairs, her eyes regarding her mother's shifted appearence as she seemed to be talking to herself. Leading Phoebe to believe a). Her mother was talking with someone invisible or unseen b). Has finally lost it..

"Mother?" The younger shapeshifter called out curiously as she moved down the stairs, her eyes glancing around from the door to the couch and then slowly onto the dark spot that was on the floor.. a cat? Her eyes remained studying the creature for a moment before a smile spread over her ruby red lips and she spoke with absolute certainty.

"Welcome home little sister." Her tone was proud, after all, her little sister had chosen corrently.. she had not only choosen thought who loved her more, but she has choosen those who where going to protect her from the humans.. isntead of forcing her to protect the humans that try to harm her..

"If you wish.. we can get you some food and then you may head off to your room for some rest.. you must be tired." Her yellow eyes glanced over at her mother for a moment, seeing how Mystique was pleased with Arisa's return also made Phoebe feel better..

Re: Finally
Another deep purr could be heard from the small ebony figure as it looked up at the blue-skinned girl, tail flickering with increased excitement. The features of the feline seemed to harden for a moment, as if readying herself for some sort of change, but then something seemed to stop her… There was a short pause where, of course it is uncertain for the expressions of cats are not all to much like humans, it appeared that the feline was thinking, emerald eyes flickering across the room, looking for something…

Her eyes lay to rest on a shirt, tossed aside onto the floor carelessly by one of the younger brotherhood members. She padded over to it, and laid a paw on the shirt, then looked back up to her family, hoping they would understand what she meant.

Re: Finally
With a faint smirk, Phoebe picked up Arisa and disappeared up the stares, there was a short yell of her raised voice as some of the members got in her way while she hurried to Arisa's room.. which she had already filled with a set of fresh new clothes.. Dropping Arisa softly on her large bed, in a surprisingly clean room compared to the rest of the place, Phoebe motioned towards her closet and then left to allow Arisa to change in privacy.

She returned to her mother and waited quietly for her little sister to reappear.. taking a seat on the couch and sitting there rather smugly at the little defeat they just had over the X-Men..

Re: Finally
The feline silently allowed herself to be scooped up and carried up a flight of stairs to what appeared to be her very own room. As Phoebe set her down and left the room, the cat’s long black tail swished eagerly back and forth behind her as she looked around the room. The bed was large, and it felt soft beneath her paws, and the room was quite clean, especially in comparison to the other rooms
other rooms she had been in. There was a certain homey feeling to this room, a good karma about it, and she could tell that they had been preparing it for her. She may find a permanent home here after all…

Her muscles tensed beneath her silken black coat, and claws slid out silently from inside her padded paws to just barley stab into the mattress of the bed. Slowly she began to change shape, the darkened pelt lightening first to a deep navy blue, before lightening to a thin, softly pigmented blue coat.

As the coat lightened, the figure stretched out, ears sliding down the sides of her face to point out of the lengthening hair that was now cascading the now thinly furred shoulders. Now a humanoid girl was on her hands and knees in the place the cat had been only seconds ago, pointed blue ears like an elf’s pointing through her hair.

She slowly slid off of the bed, what was the cat’s tail now had thinned to a slim, blue demonic shaped tail, which took to twitching to and fro in her wake as her bare feet carried her over to the closet her sister had gestured to. The same, bright, piercing emerald eyes fell upon the closet that had what appeared to be new clothes in it, and the corners of her mouth etched into a smile.

She picked out one of the things resting on the top, and pulled them on over her thin pelt, her tail personalizing the pants by poking their own little hole.
She paused for only a minute to look the room over one last time, before she slid out the door and down the stairs, her bare feet silent on the carpet as she reappeared before Mystique and Phoebe, a smile of the utmost content resting softly on her face.

“Thanks mum, sis…”

Re: Finally
As her youngest child returned from her room, back in her true form which pleased Mystique since not only was she not ashamed to hide her real appearance Aris didn't find her shapeshifting too hard a power to master.

“Thanks mum, sis…” Mystique gave a nod with a pleased smile happy that she was finding herself at home here. The last thing that she would want is for Arisa to feel uncomfortable and rush back to her old home. Xavier's was no place for her daughter to continue growing up in. It almost made her wonder why she allowed them to raise Aris in the first place, before she reminded herself of the situation she was in at the time. She had hard enough a cover story to make up for Magneto for her absence from her time in labour.

Mystique: "We're just glad you have returned."

As she spoke, her tanned skin altered, shifting back into the blue shade she was more commonly seen in. Her hair lost the browness it had and returned to it's reddish colour. Lastly her forest green eyes faded back into the yellow eyes they were before Arisa had clawed at the door.

Mystique: "So, have you been up to much since we last met?"

Her question wasn't intended to remind her daughter of their last meeting over the Institute, but if it did there was nothing Mystique could do to stop it. Her question was more out of curiosity as she wondered what Aris had been up to, and if she had gotten herself into any trouble, she could always send out some other Brotherhood members to deal with those who hurt her.

Re: Finally
Mystique: "We're just glad you have returned.”

Aris silently watched her mother shift back to her blue skinned, red haired form, the one Aris had become familiar with. She let herself smile a little bit more, she liked it better this way. She didn’t like her mother looking like some human, the kind that had screamed when Aris shifted accidentally on the bus…

Mystique: "So, have you been up to much since we last met?"

The smile faded from the shapeshifter’s features, and a rather sarcastic tone rung up in her mind, ‘Oh not a whole lot, practically gave a load of humans heart attacks, met a merman, then a man who called himself a monster, got drunk, and had one hell of a bloody hang over the next day…’

Aris: “Nothing to incredible, been staying at a quiet hotel…”

Her features remained the same rather resposed calm, the same they always did for a time before and after she lied, but also when she was lacking any extreme emotion, making her lies difficult for most to detect. She was normaly very good at controling her expressions to hide her emotions, but the swaying of her tail was now coming in rather unaturally jolty spurts, a small hint to the most observent of entities...

Re: Finally
“Nothing to incredible, been staying at a quiet hotel…” Mystique watched as her daughter talked, giving a slight nod as she finished speaking. Studying Arisa for the shortest moment the blue shapeshifter noticed the tail's sways and flicks, a hint that her daughter could be lying to her... but she wasn't going to push on the matter too much, after all she didn't want Arisa to feel as if she was being pressured. Mystique wanted to gain full trust of her youngest child before... well... before anything that might scare off Arisa dug its way up.

Mystique: "What would you like to do?"

Her question seemed to leave Arisa with many possibilities, and it was all up to her. Looking over to Phoebe for a short moment Mystique knew that she wouldn't object to her question or to what her little sister wanted. Her yellow eyes drifted back to Aris, a pleasant smile drawn on her face as she waited for her daughter's request.

Re: Finally
Mystique: "What would you like to do?"

Aris watched her mother glance over to Phoebe for a short moment, before turning a pleasant smile back to face Arisa, causing a small smile to etch Aris's features in responce. As she started to think over the quesiton, she felt a large yawn creep up, causing her rather sharp canines to glint lightly in the brightly lit room, and her eyes to water slightly with sleep,

Arisa: "Maybe I 'ought to get some rest..."

She sugusted as her yawn subsided, leaving her emerald gaze to flicker from her mother to Phoebe and back. She didn't want to leave their company so soon, but she had gotten up early this morning to make her way back, and unfortunitly had some trouble finding her way back. Arisa alowed a small blush to creep on her face as her stomach growled loudly, and she spoke up in a rather sheepish tone,

Arisa: "But, uh...maybe we could eat first?"

Re: Finally
Mystique was just about to get up and lead Arisa to her room, sure she probably remembered the way back there but couldn't Mystique be a mother and take her to bed? But before she could take as step forward she heard the rumbling sound of an empty stomache.

"But, uh...maybe we could eat first?" Mystique just gave a slight smirk.

Mystique: "Alright, not a bad idea."

She said as she began to make her way towards the direction of the Brotherhood's kitchen. the Shapeshifter gave a quickly glance over her shoulder, giving a look as if telling her daughters to follow after...
