Finding a Friend ... and Gaining an Ally
The rather cute guy that had dropped by Angela's home earlier that day had caused a rather horrible attitude to surface in her mother. Angela felt horrible for the poor guy, he had been so nice and polite, giving his name as Riley Finn and apparently he had been trying to contact her only Angie's mother had been hanging up on the man. But the instant her mother arrived at the door to see who Angela was speaking with, the woman screamed at him and slammed the door in his face. He looked very hurt and upset but the awful remarks that had been thrown at him, unknown to them Riley wasn't even a mutant, and they still hurt!!
They had been shopping around the past two hours, Angela barely owned much of anything, even if she did have a room full of clutter, it was mostly things that her dad had gotten her as a kid, toys, small things, things that she couldn't use any more. Meanwhile her mother was often buying new things, and then she'd go on complaining about how she doesn't have enough money for other important things.
Every other word was an angry comment and a hurtful or degrading insult, Angela didn't give the school her address, and Riley didn't get the chance to explain about Cerebro and the computers ability to find mutants. Wearing her only set of shoes, a pair of black boots that she's had for a few years now, Angela trailed behind her mother, staring thoughtfully down at the new hi-heels her mother was wearing. The empathic mutant wondered what the man had wanted, something about helping her with her abilities, to learn to control them for her safety and the safety of others. It seemed like a wonderful thought, to stop herself from being dangerous to others.
"What did you want to eat?" Angela glanced about when her mother asked what she wanted, they had chinese the night before and Angela loved that but she felt like something different right now.
"Um, can I get a burger and chips?" In all likely hood Angela would eat the chips and just some of the burger and take the rest home for later, but that didn't mean she was going to avoid eating what she felt like just because she knew she'd get filled up easily.
There was grumbling complaints from her mother, on about how eating that kind of crap was going to make her fat and ugly. Angela partially rolled her eyes, Katerina had asked what Angela wanted, and that's what she wanted, honestly, why did everything have to be so hard? Angela mumbled a comment about her being able to eat what ever she wants and that she doesn't care if it was bad for her, getting a cold glare from her mother who gave her a tub of fried rice and motioned for her to sit down at one of the tables.
"Oh um, I'm going to go get a drink.. I'll be back." Placing the rice on the table, she disappeared off into the crowd from her mothers sight, wanting to get a milk shake without having her mother getting on her case. Angela snuck up to the food store that sold donutes, sweets, hot dogs and milk shakes, she actually used to work here, she didn't like the people but it was the only place nearby that she knew sold milkshakes. Angela only got a small one, that way she xould finish it quickly enough and get back to her mother with a bottle of coke or something.
Leaning against the wall between the donute store and the store next door to it, Angela placed the straw between her lips and enjoyed the cool chocolate taste of the drink. Usually her mother wasn't so narky with what she ate or drank while they were out, but she was really mad that mutants were trying to talk with Angela. She was wearing the same dark jeans she had worn on the night of the Dying Star incident, and had a white top on. The white top was with short sleeves that only reached her elbows, a part of her fringe was loose framing the side of her face, her pony tail was clipped up and her dark eyes where doing their best to avoid looking around, just trying to enjoy a simple moment away from all the yelling..

(OOC: Sorry bout the short post, wasn't sure what to do exactly, hope its ok)
The warm spring sun felt good against Taylor’s skin as he strolled through the Salem Centre, the bustling crowd allowing him to mainly sink away from any people that stared at his yellow arms and face. He had arrived here with his cousin Sean and his girlfriend Dawn but they had separated for the moment as the other two had gone to find something that they wanted for their joint quarters back at the mansion. So while they went of doing coupley things like that Taylor decided he would get a milkshake from a nearby stand and have a look through some of the smaller shops for some more cloths. Since he had arrived at Xavier’s he had had to slowly buy a complete new wardrobe, seeing as he had arrived with nothing as he had been rushed from his apartment without a chance to take anything of his own. It wasn’t that he didn’t enjoy hanging out with Sean and Dawn when they were shopping for things together, but sometime he just needed a break from them and so far the three had had a good laugh with each other but Taylor knew he had to get some things before the shops closed later and knowing how indecisive both he and his cousin could be when shopping for things it thought it would be best this time to shop separately as they didn’t have that much time left before they would have to start heading back.
He stepped up to the stand and asked for a large chocolate milkshake, the rather dumpy old woman smiling at him sweetly as he gave her the money for it and moved away from the crowds so that he could finish his drink and start having a look through a few of the shops. As he drank he ran one hand through his thick wavy hair, his head underneath quite hot from the warm sun. As he quickly finished sucking the chocolate shake through the straw he walked towards the first shop that he had spotted that might have some cloths or shoes that he would like. The small shop he was approaching was directly next to a donut shop and as he threw the now empty milkshake cup into a nearby bin his gaze slipped to a young woman who was leaning against the wall, a young woman he recognized and had wanted to see for a long time now since their first encounter.
Taking a deep calming breath Taylor changed the direction he was walking slightly so that he would reach Angela Clarice, the woman from the Dying Star. For a moment he thought he would chicken out, a slight reddening growing on his cheeks as he got closer, especially when he noticed she too was drinking a cool milkshake.
Taylor reached Angie and his mind blanked, not knowing what to say clearly and before he could think he said weakly; “Hey” Taylor smiled broadly as he continued. “Angela right? Do you remember me, Taylor, from the club.” He decided he wasn’t going to mention Xavier’s yet, or the teams, and especially not them trying to contact her. He knew from what Riley had said that her mother was very anti-mutant and bringing that up as soon as they had met again properly for only the second time would have meant he would have crashed and burned there and then. He just wanted to keep the talk light as he didn’t want to make their second meeting go the way of their first, and to his slight surprise, that connection he felt to her from the club was still their and he couldn’t pin point exactly what it was.

With a bottle of coke now placed comfortably under her arm and a small chocolate donute so she had an excuse as to why she had taken so long, Angela quite happily was nearly finished with her drink. Admittedly it had filled her up, she was having trouble finishing so much so quickly, but she had been longing for something cool and sweet and chocolatey. Angela wasn't really up for a donute, she'd probably keep it for later, or give it to her mother, yeah, that's what she'll do, she'll give her mother the donute, that'd make her happy!
It wasn't hard to spot the yellow skinned mutant from the ground ahead of her, but she was amazed that he was actually moving towards her. With a bright smile she quickly pulled the straw away from her lips, nervously fiddling with it for a moment before checking that she hadn't spilt anything or brushed against anything that might have dirtied her white top. She was the kind of girl that was shy about eating in front of people, even taking on a polite elegence when she drank..
“Hey” He looked pleased to meet her, Angela didn't even have friends that looked that pleased when she turned up.. alright, so she didn't have many real life friends at all, but.. anyway! He looked happy, and that was a nice feeling, causing her to smile back automatically and a little shyly since she doesn't speak with many people. “Angela right? Do you remember me, Taylor, from the club.” Well of course she remembered him, hard to forgot someone who helps you out after you get shot!
"Hey," The other mutant was radiating a nervous, shy, excited, a complete bundle of emotions that she could sense and it was slightly confusing as she tried to figure out which emotions were hers and which were his. "Of course I remember you.. pretty hard to forget," There was a faint smile as she mumbled more to herself, [/b]"..not every day I'm wisked away to a place with talking dogs.."[/b] Needless to say, she didn't tell her mother much of what had happened to her, saying that she was unconcious for basically the entire time.
With a sudden look of worry she glanced over her shoulder towards where her mother was impatiently waiting, having already started to eat on her own. Not good, if she saw Angela talking to a mutant Angela might as well not plan on eating for the next few months, renting a small apartment was all find and dandy, stacking the fridge was proving to be very difficult since as soon as she paid the rent and internet bills she had little left to buy other less important things.. like food..
Looking back nervously towards taylor she offered a weak little smile, wondering what her mother would say if she saw Taylor. He was a really nice guy, she'd probably enjoy Angela hanging around with someone like him, if only he wasn't a mutant..
"Sorry, it's my mother.. she's uh, waiting.. well I said I'd get a drink and," The fact Angela had a bottle of coke under one arm and a now empty milkshake in her hands might hint towards the reason why she sounded a little as if she had been caught red handed doing something wrong.
"She's in a bit of a foul mood.." That just had to be one of the most greatest understatements Angela has made all week. "..It's great to see you again, do you come here often?" That would mean there was a chance of her meeting up with him again, she wanted to be around other mutants, in his place no one seemed to get angry when she had Fear about, if Fear popped up around her mother, Katerina would go beserk. Angela didn't like having to pretend to be something she wasn't just so she was able to hang about with her own mother, just as long as Angela acted 'human', then Katerina didn't mind so much having her around.

Re: Finding a Friend ... and Gaining an Ally"Hey, of course I remember you…pretty hard to forget...not every day I'm wisked away to a place with talking dogs.." Taylor smiled as soon as she spoke those words, he was someone to be remembered then, although he did hope that she meant that she remembered him and not just his yellow skin and the Institute.
He watched as Angela’s attention flicked over to a woman who was sat starting to eat on an outside table not far from them, she seemed to suddenly worry a little. Taylor guessed that the woman must have been Angie’s mother by the worried expression that crossed her face, and if what he had heard from Riley about her he knew that it wouldn’t be good if he was seen talking with her daughter. Then again, it probably wouldn’t be a good idea if Taylor met her mother, he was known to be quite volatile with things he believes in and mutant equality was a major one; what with both his parents and his now ex-friends reactions to him.
"Sorry, it's my mother…she's uh, waiting…well I said I'd get a drink and, She's in a bit of a foul mood...It's great to see you again, do you come here often?"
Taylor smiled a little wider as she quickly glazed over the topic of her mother, in itself that seemed to justify what beliefs the yellow mutant had about the older woman, he wasn’t often one to judge so quickly about someone he had never met, but what he had heard from others at the Institute, how Angie herself professed that she shouldn’t be contacted on the night of the shooting and the now slight uncomfortable atmosphere that the young woman seemed to be feeling.
That smile widened even further as she said it was great to see him; it seemed it wasn’t only him that thought there was something different between them. It wasn’t only him that had wanted to see her again, it seemed like the feeling was reciprocated. Pausing for a moment as he thought about what she had said he noticed that the pause was physical and snapping back into reality he matched her gaze with his yellow eyes, a look of questioning within her eyes.
“Yeah, it’s really good to see you too, I’ve been here a few times, had to get some more cloths since I left my last apartment. So how are you? No trouble with your shoulder? Taylor asked sympathetically, unconsciously moving one of his hands up his bare arm to where the slight scar of where the bullet scraped his arm before hitting into Angie’s shoulder. He was being sincere, he still felt a pang of guilt when he discussed it, but seeing as this was the first time they met since the attack it would be stupid to ignore it. “What about you, are you here often?” Thoughts of being able to see Angie more often filled his mind, but he quickly quashed them, he was thinking to far ahead and dealing with her mother would be another matter all together.
Re: Finding a Friend ... and Gaining an Ally"Yeah, it’s really good to see you too, I’ve been here a few times, had to get some more cloths since I left my last apartment. So how are you? No trouble with your shoulder?" While thinking over how to reply about how she was, he asked another question qhich she replied to first. “What about you, are you here often?” There was a nod of her head before she spoke.
"Yeah, I come here often enough, normally on my own, nice to get away and just watch a movie without any stress." Flashing him a sweet smile as she thought of the movies she had been looking forward to see, she then went back to answer his earlier questions. "My shoulder's alright, hurts when I use it too much but it's just soreness, the actual wound looks as if it's healed." She shifted about slightly as she thought about the man who had stopped by her medical room back in the institute.
"I saw your uncle in the medical room as well, you're family seems really nice there." after a glance towards her mother she added, "And there's a man who is trying to get in contact with me, mum won't let me talk to him, he was from your institute, offered me a place there, I think it's really wonderful there's a school to help people like that." She spoke with a smile, she hadn't gotten on too well with people at her school, "What exactly do you do at your school?" It was easy to tell she was really interested in the idea of the school, but she still didn't know a great deal of what went on there.

Re: Finding a Friend ... and Gaining an Ally"Yeah, I come here often enough, normally on my own, nice to get away and just watch a movie without any stress. My shoulder's alright, hurts when I use it too much but it's just soreness, the actual wound looks as if it's healed."
Taylor's smile widened a little as he noticed Angela smile at him softly. He had never had a chance to see Angie smile, not at the Dying Star and definitely not when she was stuck in the Med Bay and only half conscious. He noticed her shift and didn't say anything else as he could see she had more to speak about:
"I saw your uncle in the medical room as well, you're family seems really nice there. And there's a man who is trying to get in contact with me, mum won't let me talk to him, he was from your institute, offered me a place there, I think it's really wonderful there's a school to help people like that. What exactly do you do at your school?"
Taylor smiled widely, it was all her mother that was stopping her from coming to the school, Taylor had to admit a couple of moments he wondered if it was Angie herself that was stopping her from seeing the school more but from the reaction she had was expressing and her interest in the school it seemed like she really was interested in coming to the school, if only her mother could be persuaded.
“It’s not just my family, everyone I have met at the institute is really nice, and I had heard that Riley, the ones who’s been trying to get in contact with you, had been trying to get you a place at the school.” Taylor couldn’t help sounding a little excited as he spoke about her coming to the school.
“We do a lot at the school, some of the stuff can’t be talked about, unless you come that is…but the school is just like a normal school with classes and dorms, we often go like the night when…well…you know.” Taylor turned a little sheepish as he talked about the night that they had met. “It would be great if you could come you know, you can learn to harness your abilities and learn as you would at a normal school. Is there any way your mother would allow it?” Taylor hadn’t even noticed that he had mentioned the harnessing of powers, he was so used to freely talking about his mutant abilities that now it just came out in conversation. He stole a glance at Angie’s mother who was still sat eating at the table not far from them, but he quickly turned back to her meeting her eyes, his grin widening once more.
Re: Finding a Friend ... and Gaining an Ally“It’s not just my family, everyone I have met at the institute is really nice, and I had heard that Riley, the ones who’s been trying to get in contact with you, had been trying to get you a place at the school.” She'd never had someone interested in her taking part in anything before, but Taylor really seemed keen on her attendance, it's probably what also pushed her on with her curiosity.. to get to know this odd person who wanted the presence of someone who usually got ignored.
“We do a lot at the school, some of the stuff can’t be talked about, unless you come that is…but the school is just like a normal school with classes and dorms, we often go like the night when…well…you know.” Yet again a spark of curiosity was flaring up at the vague statement, her dark eyes examining the handsome features of the other male mutant with an intrigued look, also noting the way he seemed to be acting and feeling herself smile with a little shy look.
“It would be great if you could come you know, you can learn to harness your abilities and learn as you would at a normal school. Is there any way your mother would allow it?” Sure.. if Angela run away and did it without her permission, but then her mother would probably call up the government or something and say the mutants kidnapped her and used their powers to brain wash her into joining them.
"Wait... maybe... um.. lemme try and ask." She flashed a little mischievous grin and then looking really nervous hurried off towards the table with a motion of her hand, which could be taken for a 'wait here'. There was a flurry of movement as the illusionary spirit hovered around Taylor, appearing from nowhere and then darting off after Angela, his black misty form easily seen by any paying attention.
It was obvious that her mother was upset and shocked by the creature’s appearance because she was instantly leaning forward and rather angrily - basically looking utterly humiliated and ashamed - began insisting Angela make it go away. The hissing voice of her mother was barely a stressed whisper while Angela's lips moved, showing that she was also talking, seeming to mimic the surprised expression as Fear became troublesome and knocked over her mothers drink, causing Katerina to get to her feet.
"Get rid of it or find some way to control that thing! Otherwise don't come back!" The hissed comment was loud enough for those nearby to hear her, a furious humiliated blush spreading across her face as the older woman grabbed at her food in disgust and stormed off angrily. Angela grinned triumphantly, a rather odd reaction since she was just threatened to be expelled from her home once again, but in a week her mother wouldn't even mention this scene again, so it was worth the risk in Angela’s permission.
She did lose her smile as she watched her mother disappear, it was a little heartbreaking but she had learned a while ago to simply accept it. Looking over towards Taylor she offered him a shrug of her shoulders and then a smile, picking up her bags, one that had some snacks she brought and the other one being her laptop case, she had her mobile number and name engraved into the base of the laptop, plus she had it upgraded against new viruses.
"Well she gave me permission, is there a certain time I have to go there for a tour or something?" Until then she'd have to camp in her apartment, she was going to lose it the following week, she didn't have any money to pay for the rent and her mother wasn't even worth asking since she knew Katerina would just say she ought to save her money and not go online at all, which wasn't an option in Angela's books.

Re: Finding a Friend ... and Gaining an Ally
Taylor watched as a gleam seemed to shimmer in Angela’s eyes. "Wait... maybe... um.. lemme try and ask." Taylor’s smile widened and a slight chuckle seemed to spill from his lips as he watched Angie run across the open aired area back towards her mother. For some reason he also seemed to think that she was brave, admittedly she was going to ask her mutant-hating mother to go and visit and even stay at the institute for her education, but he personally hadn’t run in with her mother so he might be being unfair and judging her too soon.
The yellow skinned mutant who managed to blend into the busseling square easier than he would have imagained watched as a scene unfolded before his eyes as Angie’s abilities flared up and the small creature that she could invoke appeared with her. Instantly her mother seemed to be angered, standing from her place and shouting things to far from Taylor for him to clearly hear but it obviously wasn’t a welcome to the small creature. He stood silently as the anger unfolded before him and was directed straight towards Angie, he felt like going over to the older woman and telling her to back off and that if she had a problem with her daughters abilities then she should try learning to live with powers, to control them, then maybe she would be more sympathetic. But before he could start his way over to the bickering pair the older woman grabbed her stuff and walked briskly away; Taylor was unable to see how Angie reacted to this abandonment by her parent, but he knew what it felt like to be cut off.
Angie collected her stuff together and gave Taylor a soft kind of shrug, the beaming smile that had been on her face seemed to have evaporated as she walked back towards the electrical manipulator followed closely by her floating friend; "Well she gave me permission, is there a certain time I have to go there for a tour or something?"
Taylor was a little surprised at what Angie had to say, he thought for sure she was going to say that she was being made to leave and that speaking of this mutant place ever again would result in horrific punishment and that she was even taking a chance telling him now. But this was not the case at all; she was allowed to come, or at least that was how she had seen her mother’s reaction and as soon as her words sunk in Taylor’s smile returned, his true bright grin that often was noted as being his default appearance.
“Well, I mean Riley was hoping to get you to come and see the Institute as soon as you could, so if you want, I mean if its ok with you, you could come back to the mansion with me and I can show you around and take you to the people you will need to see.” Taylor instantly blushed a little, although the rush of blood to his skin was dampened by the pigment it had taken on since his abilities increased. He came over a little shy but his underlying enthusiasm to show the young woman around; which could lead to her to coming to stay at the mansion was still easily visable as he looked at the slightly shorter girl who was laden with bags. “Do you want me to hold any of those?” Taylor asked as he realized he himself had nothing in his hands at all.
Re: Finding a Friend ... and Gaining an Ally
Well, maybe Katerina hadn't said that Angela could go to a mutant school, but if there were ever any arguments, Angela could defend her actions by saying that her mother told her to go and learn to control her powers. She'd still get grounded - or worse - but the prospect of meeting all these strange and unusual people was just to intriguing an offer for her to give up on easily.
“Well, I mean Riley was hoping to get you to come and see the Institute as soon as you could, so if you want, I mean if its ok with you, you could come back to the mansion with me and I can show you around and take you to the people you will need to see.” He seemed excited by the chance of her going with him, which only increased her willingness to join the school, even if it was only to be able to have a friendship like the one she seemed to be building with the handsome yellow mutant. “Do you want me to hold any of those?” A grin flashed as she offered him the lighter of the two shopping bags, more her own stubbornness for not wanting to seem as if she was taking advantage of the kind offer. The only reason the other bag was heavy was because of the soda drink she had in there, her laptop was slung over her unwounded shoulder and both hands cradled the shopping bag for better support.
"Thanks, I'd love to see the school again." Fear lingered rather cautiously over her wounded shoulder, his weightless form hovering while his glowing eyes seemed watchful for anything that might pose a threat.
"Do I have to pay? That actually might be a problem.. I'm already behind in my rent for my apartment, I might not be able to attend a school on the wage I have." The realization hit home and she looked sadly down at the bad in her hands, she saw parts of the school, at least the medical lab, that had to be earning so much money, she had no hope, and there was a snowball's chance in hell that her mother would pay Angela's enrolment.

Re: Finding a Friend ... and Gaining an Ally"Thanks, I'd love to see the school again. Do I have to pay? That actually might be a problem.. I'm already behind in my rent for my apartment, I might not be able to attend a school on the wage I have."
Taylor gripped the bag Angie had given him and his smile widened as he thought of his response, it seemed to him that this was her only worry and that her mother’s reaction hadn’t fazed her one bit, which meant that telling the younger woman that payment wasn’t necessary, not in the best known sense anyway. In some ways every mutant at Xavier’s repaid their debt by just spreading the word to other mutants that their powers were a gift not a punishment. Then others, like Taylor, were assigned to teams who would go and use their abilities to help others when they needed it.
“Well you don’t pay exactly, but that will all be explained when you meet some of the teachers there, Professor Xavier, the man who founded the school, he is ill but the acting headmistress will be able to explain everything to you. Luckily the headmistress is a woman called Jean Grey, she is my aunt so hopefully arranging a meeting shouldn’t be too hard.”
Taylor shuffled his feet a little glancing a look at the floating creature near the young woman’s shoulder, although he hadn’t really done much shopping since he had arrived as he had planned he was now ready to go back to the mansion and to show Angie around, let her see what she could be doing if she joined. He wasn’t worried about leaving Sean and Dawn here, he knew that they would be a long time and that when he didn’t come to find them like he would usually they would realise he had already gone back to the mansion. Picking up his own carrier bag which was leaning against the wall on the floor he spoke a little softer and slower, curbing his enthusiasm a bit; “So if you are done here we can go back and I can show you around the mansion now?”
Re: Finding a Friend ... and Gaining an Ally“Well you don’t pay exactly, but that will all be explained when you meet some of the teachers there, Professor Xavier, the man who founded the school, he is ill but the acting headmistress will be able to explain everything to you. Luckily the headmistress is a woman called Jean Grey, she is my aunt so hopefully arranging a meeting shouldn’t be too hard.” There was an excited look about her as he mentioend no money was needed, but it was odd since she's heard all sorts of horrible things about mutants and so far they have been the exact opposite of everything she has been told. It made her feel a little better on the inside though, to know that she wasn't the monster her mother said all mutants were. Even though Angela herself didn't judge others, a part of her couldn't help but judge herself, she messed things up a lot, like back at the dying star when she accidently caused the human to shoot Connor in the back when Fear really frightened him.
And not only was her mother saying she was a monster, when she'd flare up into her temper (something only her mother seems able to ignite inside the otherwise controlled young girl) her mother would say she was insane or crazy - when of course in truth she was just frightened of getting hurt and has learned since she was a child that screaming at the top of her lungs and fighting back when hit enhances the chance of her not being hurt for long and when her brothers were older it gave them time to seperate both her and her mother. Angela was the defensive type however so she'd never need persausion to back away, usually hiding behind her brother instantly while the other held their mother back.
Angela realized it was fear that was promting the somewhat violent outbursts just recently when her mother was angry at her for something, usually her mother was alright for most of the day but when she wasn't well or annoyed by something she was very easy to get into a temper. So as is the usual case, Angela can't even remember the reason - if there was one - for why her mother had started calling her names and putting her down again. Angela had been sitting at the dinning table eating cereal, her mother's body getting closer and closer just so she could loom threateningly over her daughter as she screamed at her. Even though her mother continued to yell, Angela resumed eating her cereal, something she was sure her mother wasn't too fond off but at the time she was hungry and it wasn't like she honestly cared about her mothers opinions at the moment.
The instant her mother's hand rose in a threatening stance to slap her, not actually about to but just lifting her hand sharply as she hatefully demanded Angela to pay attention, the instant reaction of the girl was to throw the bowl of milk and cereal at her mother's face. An instinctive scream erupting from Angela's lips as she slipped off the seat and ducked out of her mothers lashing arm, alerting her brothers who were staying for a while to the fight, John the oldest rushing to get between them. The fight had mostly been her mother throwing her arms at Angela while the younger girl protected her face. One of her nails on her ight hand had been broken, not one to usually care that greatly about broken nails this one was slightly different since it tore a bit of her flesh, enough to cause the nail agonizingly start to bleed. The tremble in her hand and tears in her eyes only from the pain, yet her mother pointing at her and demanding John to look at her as if she was some insane berserker.
Although Angela didn't think of that exact scenario, she couldn't help but wonder what might happen if her mtoher realized how she had interprated the demand that had been angrily spat at her. The thought that someone actually wanted her company as Taylor seemed pleased enough for her to assume she wasn't getting on his nerves meant that the thought of spending time with others her age helped squash any thoughts of the violence she was leaving behind or risking in the future. She was older now, she wasn't going to let her mother hurt her, and her mother was starting to realize that, so the risk wasn't as dangerous as it might have been a few years ago.
“So if you are done here we can go back and I can show you around the mansion now?” A bright grin shone from her immidiatly, she hadn't thought it would be so quick, she thought he'd give her a date in which to go there, the prospect of having a travel companian was more then enough of a reason to go to the school now.
"Really? Sure I'm done, that's really great, thank you." She did wonder how they were getting there, bus, car, taxi, some other form of transport, she dreaded the thought of having to walk, she hasn't really been able to rest her shoulder as much as she ought to have been doing since her mother didn't believe it was as serious as Angela had made it sound. The thought of walking with her computer and these bags wasn't very pleasant, she knew her shoulder would start to ache if she stressed it too much again.
