From Iggie's Journal: Season 35, day 1
I have survived the challenges and tests that Loki has put forth in front of me. I've survived one of the hardest periods for Shadowblades, seasons 30-35. With the help of many Alliance mates, and Guild mates I saw seasons 32, 33, and 34 fly by and now I've entered my 35th season.

[I cannot thank everyone enough for their help this weekend.]

Last night I truely learned what following Loki's path is all about. After we took back Cale, s group of Hibby's, with a caster at their side, were causing a little havoc with some Midgard defenders. I just happened to be behind the group and the caster <grins evily> I setup my PA perfectly and with one shot the caster was silenced, and no one knew what hit her because I was gone just as fast as I appeared.

A rather unusual thing to be happy over, but being a Shadowblade takes great patience and moments like that, if you can truely enjoy that type of moment, are the reward. Soon I'll spend many lonely nights at the mile gates, away from battle and those types of rewards will become only better.

[Thanks for reading,]

Iggie,
35th Season Shadowblade

The blood will spill Iggie. Soon you'll be geared up and learning from other great SBs out there. There are dozens of tricks and it can only get better. I too have embarked on that journey to get my young Sufikie to the ever elusive 50th season.

I stoped at 19th to slay in the new battle grounds. He'll need to respec at 20th because right now he is geared for single sword crit/blade. I've tapped the pool of knowedge and that way although fun, won't get me staying alive long; so I'll likely lean heavily into shadowzerker/critblade.

See you out there.

I went with the 5 spec.. wanted to be versatile.. while i dont hit as hard with PA/CD i can usually 2 shot maybe 3 most caster types with poisons and such.. and not only that i can hold my own with a majority of assassins .. i know Ismael is getting tired of hearing my name :P If neither assassin gets the PA .. i stand a good chance of winning .. assuming we are closely ranked. My main goal as a blade was to give other stealthers a hard time.. hence the name "shadowslayer" but i didnt want to limit myself with a pure shadowzerk spec.. i also wanted to front load damage if i had the chance. I will try other specs in time.. but i feel this gives me a taste of each.

Indeed season from 30-35 are hard.. very hard .. that is where a majority of the people will put down their blades and try something else.. but the rewards for pressing forward are great. But the hardships arent over yet .. 40-44 are pretty tough too unless you can find some good groups

I am stuck between 5spec and Critblade. I'll play cale for a bit, where I'm currently nearest to a Critblade, and see how it goes. I cannot see going SoulBlade or ShadowZerk. Those just aren't assains to me. If I wanted 1 on 1 action all the time I'd have been a warrior....

re:
Not having a shadowblade myself, i might get in over my head. But my impression was that if you wanted to go 5-spec you shouldnt do that until your 40th season. Since you wont have enough specc points to train with earlier for all 5 skills. People would go shadowzerk or critblade up to that point before getting the 5th skill. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Re: re:
yeah .. if you want to go 5-spec you shouldnt put too many points in LA (if you are a critblade) or Crit(if you are a shadowzerk) until about 42-44 .. i think i started putting points in crit around 42 Iwas originally shadowzerk
