Graveyard -Welcome to the world of Eternal Night and torment
SPIKE
As soon as Spike felt the chill of the cold Lost Angels air whip past his weak body, drained of his energy for the moment from the kiss he had given Rogue. His knees buckled and he gave a soft whimper as he dropped to the ground, he was back, he was really back...
His hands felt the dry dirt under his cold fingers, he could smell the foul scent of death all around him, the knees of his new black pants getting dirty as he sat on the ground of the graveyard.
For a moment he simply gazed across that the gravestones, then over towards the dry dead hedge that surrounded the graveyard. All the trees where dead, some still with brown shrivelled leaves from a recent effort of a mutant who gave life to the trees in the area.
He curled up so his head rested on his knees, his hands placed on the back of his head as he tried to grasp onto what was happening....he didn't want to be here, he didn't want to be back here...
The light, he wanted the light, he wanted to go back, was he ever in the light? Maybe that was just a dream...maybe...maybe he fell asleep when he came to the graveyard earlier and he just woke up...being free...free from Angelus, being with humans...that was a dream...had to be a dream...
No...no he could still taste Rogue in his mouth...he could still smell her scent all over him, he had to stay focused, he had to struggle and remain focus....but he couldn't...not here...never here...
But on Rogue, he should focus on Rogue, she said she'll protect them, if he can't focus at least she'll be there to stop him from hurting people.
"Ah'm not as strong as you think"
But she was...she was, he could see her strength, he could feel it whenever he was near her, she was so powerful....so strong...so much strength...yet so alone....so much pain..
It wasn't long until he heard the arrival of the others, but he didn't pay them much attention, mumbling words under his breath that no one could make out.
He wanted to stand up, he wanted to look more proud, he didn't want people to see him like this, but he couldn't move, he couldn't look, he didn't want to see the shadows of this world..
Why was he so foolish to think he could handle coming back here? He knew he couldn't, he shouldn't have demanded to come with them, stupid, so stupid, why didn't he just stay in the warmth...in the light....why did he come back?
Everything was so painful, everything reminded him of all the things he hated in himself, and Rogue knew...she knew he helped Angelus. She'd know he was partly responsible for turning this world into the nightmare it had become, he couldn't bare thinking such thoughts.
Spike:"
When you were young
And your heart
Was an open book
You used to say, live and let live
You know you did,
You know you did,
You know you did.
But if this ever-changing world
In which we live in
Makes you give in and cry
Say live and let die.
He gave a quiet sob after he finished speaking a poem he had read while hiding in Rogue's apartment once from Angelus, this world had made him give in and cry...but no one would let him die. They said he wasn't allowed to, but was it their choice? If he offered one of the people of this world a chance to stake him...would they even think twice over the fact he's no longer the same murderous creature they all remember him being?
They'd do it...with a smile on their faces, a look of freedom in their eyes....he knew they'd do it, and they had every right to. They where his victims, if his death....or final death since he has already been murdered once, gives them a spark of joy, then how could these strangers of another world refuse these people that joy? Haven't they deserved something? After all they have been threw don't they deserve at least the joy of watching something like Spike die once and for all?
He could feel the demon inside him eagerly wanting to find its way back to the manor, but he couldn't go home, he had to find the Slayer...but..
He wanted to go back to the other world...don't let him stay here, don't let Rogue see what his world is like....the people, what if someone sees him, what if they try and talk with him? They act all scared and nervous around him, he couldn't handle any of that right now! He just wanted to go back to the war room and have them lock him away there where the shadows of this world couldn't get him!
It wasn't fair though, that he should be allowed to return to such a place while others who he helped torment with eternal night died in a hell dimension like this. He didn't deserve to be with those people, they where all so...so...it was amazing, they where so kind...he couldn't help but think of Dave and give a soft growl...most where kind...somewhere rude and careless with their words.
" 'sok.......you're not beneath me. 'm no saint either"
Her closed his eyes as he remained curled up safely on the ground, no one had ever told him that he wasn't beneath them. But in this case, he knew he was, he'd always be beneath her, there was no way anyone could convince Spike that he was anywhere near the level of status Rogue and her kind where on.
"you're not beneath me"
He allowed his shattered mind to linger on her words...and her thoughts....and more importantly, more vividly...more longingly...her kiss....

KANE
A swirl of blurring colors, a watery sound accompanied by the feeling of something large trying to hold her back there between the worlds... and she was through.
Stopping next to Spike, she put a gloved hand on his shoulder. Carefully as if not to frighten him.
"We shouldn't stay on the graveyard longer than necessary, righ'? C'mon sugah, lead the way" and quietly so only he could pick up her words, Rogue added
"I'll watch out. Don't be afraid. At least I know what awaits us"
"Comfy" Kane stated sarcastically yet quiet after having taken a look around. "All we need's some pack of demons an' we're in some cheap horror movie"
He raised an eyebrow remembering Riley's comment about Spike. "Guess that'll happen soon enough"
Questioning, his eyes met Riley's. Since there were no aggressors around - at least non he could see - waiting for commands was the only logical thing to do.
Suddenly, something caught his attention. Before, he had automatically assumed that this dimension's time was different from theirs which was why it was seemingly night.
This theory, however, didn't only become improbable as he saw the withered plants. The senses that were connected with his power registered the sun. It was there shining on this side of the planet, yet its rays didn't touch the ground.
However, there were no clouds he could both - see or feel - in the dark sky. Slight confusion crossed his face as he looked up. Tempest was absolutely certain that natural causes could be excluded.
*What the hell has happened here* he wondered, glancing at the special agent again waiting for orders.
SPIKE
The familiar scent of Rogue grew even stronger as she approached beside him, only confirming in his mind that the world of light had indeed been real. His breathing had stopped the instant Rogue's fingers had touched the back of his shoulder, every sensation in his body screaming out for her touch to remain.
"We shouldn't stay on the graveyard longer than necessary, righ'? C'mon sugah, lead the way"
Sitting up slowly, the vampires golden eyes staying focused on the ground right in front of Rogue's feet, as if daring himself to look at her yet too ashamed to let his demonic eyes lay upon her.
"I'll watch out. Don't be afraid. At least I know what awaits us"
Afraid? ....He was way past the 'afraid' point...but then again, as long as Rogue was beside him, at least the kids will be safe..
Slowly, and looking rather tired as he did so, Spike pulls himself to his feet, keeping his face looking away from Rogue as he balanced himself by placing a hand on her shoulder.
Once all of the group had passed into this world, Riley appeared threw the portal, a small device in his hands that, once safely away from the portal, he pointed towards the doorway and closed it.
Riley:"Alright Spike."
The sounds of movement in the distance that only he was able to hear had caught his attention. He knew who it most likely was, but the wondering ghost would most likely keep her distance. With sudden realization that Rogue could see his true face, Spike quickly looked away again, focusing on the ground as he moved forward.
But as soon as he stepped away from her, he had the sudden urge to move back to her side, he felt even more cold and alone as soon as she wasn't next to him. But no, he had to focus, had to stay focused on what he was doing...what was he doing here?
Riley:"Find the Slayer, find the others Spike, quickly."
Slipping the small device into his pocket, the agent glanced about, he wanted to stay in this world as short a time as possible.
Spike:"Middle o'the day...everyone'll be out an'about.."
It was more a whisper of fear on his part, the more people who saw them, the more people who would want to hurt them, his demonic eyes scanned the streets beyond the graveyard as he spoke. He could smell and hear the low activity of day-to-day demons and people hurrying about one their daily business and chores.
Quickly Spike walked ahead, following more the 'feeling' of the Slayer then the actual scent, but once he made it to the street, he seemed to lose the ability to walk any further. His eyes following the movement of four people that where walking in the distance on the other side of the street towards them. He looked away, focusing on the other two people who where walking towards them from the other side of the street.
After a moment of hesitation, he slowly moved forward, cross the dark streets that where only lit up by the streetlights, his eyes carefully trying to avoid the people.
Lynn:"Spike!"
The blonde vampire cringed slightly as one of the two people nearby called out and run over to him, but Spike continued walking towards where he could sense the Slayer was hiding...or more accurately...dying.
Lynn:"Where have you been? We thought you all skipped town, Doreze has been sending his rocks into Lost Angels man!"
Spike ignored him, almost hoping the brown haired vampire - who didn't bother hiding his demonic face - was simply an illusion, though he hadn't been seeing anything like that since the this morning....he kinda hoped they'd stopped..
Lynn:"..Doreze man, don't ignore me, Doreze is trying to take over! I ain't going to let that Warlock have our town, we hav-"
The brown haired man stopped talking as Spike laughed at his use of words 'Our Town', it wasn't really he's, he had nothing to do with the running....he just figured, Angelus a vampire, his a vampire, means vampires own the city.
But the young vampire stubbornly moved in front of Spike, who continued walking so the other vampire had to walk backwards so Spike didn't walk into him.
Lynn:"...Uh, Spike pal, Doreze isn't really...you know...the ha ha type of half demon, perhaps-"
The vampire looked over towards his companion with an angry expression.
Lynn:"Hurry up!"
The young lady quickened her pace to keep up with the two men, Spike's eyes wondering over to the human, her face kept looking low to the ground and hidden away behind her long wavy red hair.
Lynn:"You know what? I think the rumours are right, you have so lost the touch man, no wonder you keep such a low profile, always sneaking about and-"
He looked at the humans behind him.
Lynn:"-What's with the walking party? Angelus having some sort of party? Coz this is not really the time for a feast.."
Still walking, Spike looked back at Rogue with utter desperation and pain in his eyes.
Lynn:"I want to meet Angelus!"
Looking back at the vampire in front of him, Spike simply looked down and shook his head, Lynn held out his hand and pressed his palm against Spike's chest.
Lynn:"I'll give him a gift, how about her? She's really nice."
With a grin he took her hand and held her between himself and Spike, but Spike simply took a step back with a look of horror on his face.
Lynn:"...What? He doesn't like used humans? Only had her for a few days, but I'm telling you, very nic-"
With a flare of anger, Spike's fist seemed to snap out towards the vampire's deformed face, knocking the young man out with ease. The frightened girl looked down at her former owner and then at Spike, but Spike seemed to be moving past her quickly. Hurrying ahead of the group, Spike placed his hands over his face as he heard Riley call out.
Riley:"Spike wait up!"
He looked at the young lady for a moment, she was around his age, what was wrong with these people? Why didn't they try and run?
Riley:"...Run."
It was as if the girl was waiting for someone to tell her what to do, she was so lost, but at Riley's words, she hurried off down the street. The agent throw the others a look which hinted he really wasn't fond of this place, and shown his confusion over the situation. But quickly, as the distance between them and Spike grew, they picked up their pace and hurried after the distraught vampire.
Following behind Spike closely, Rogue's thoughts were mainly occupied by the simple question who those figures keeping on babbling were.
Since she hadn't thought about it during the time she had owned the vampire's memories, the southern belle know as little as the rest of the group, however, contrary to Tempest who just looked around - more or less interested in this strange world - she felt the urge to hit that demon right in his deformed face.
Strangely enough, what disgusted her looking at him wasn't the same with Spike.
Fortunately - although it surely would have been fun as Rogue thought afterwards - the blond vampire knocked the disgusting one out hurrying down the dark street.
"Boring..." Kane murmured not caring whether anyone heard it or not. Those 'demons' seemed to be nothing but a bunch of wannabe big bads with a bad taste of fashion - although at least the last part was something Tempest had no idea about either.
