Grown UP, Epi 4
This was exceptionally well-written, guys. As transitional episodes go, I couldn't have asked for anything better.

AS usual ... Encore..!!!
Superbly and subtly handled on the most debated topic on this messageboard. I can't help but detected points that were discussed on this issue on the Virginity thread and I applaud you both for making use of them. This shows that our opinions do count....
Analogy to Romeo and Juliet, well done... I luv how it has been inserted in to hold the plot together....
What shocked me the most was RYDER.... What the hell was he doing..?? Did aliens do some sort of surgery on his brain or more personality and revived his dormant sensitive side..??
"Um…Jake…Ham…look, I just want you both two know that…I’m glad you found each other and…managed to triumph under such adverse conditions."
I was thinking.... DID HE JUST SAY THAT..???? I had to go back and read it again.... Appalled, baffled, dumbfounded...!!!!
All part of growing I would assume.....
SOmehow I was disappointed by the breach in his COOL exterior. Is RYDER really breaking down..?? Ohhh no... SOmebody must put him back together..... I was actually contented with him showing his affection only towards Gwen.. It preserved a certain depth in character about RYDER..
Plz Estee and Harm, did I miss a point in this episode?? Is Ryder going through a 12 step program.?? Do enlighten me plz....
AND ONE MORE THING....!!!!! WILL AND BELLA....... hmmmmmmm...... mistake...... I don't think so...!!!
AGain, I wish to compliment u both on a well tackled and enlightening episode that touched on the most controversial and yet deliberating issue.
Grown UP
Estee and Harmony,
I really enjoyed the latest episode. No matter what you say, it's as good as all the rest. I liked the new twist with Bella and Will -- it made their relationship so much more interesting -- I like the "bad boy" Will. As always, I think you two do an excellent job with keeping the voices of the characters.

Question?
First of, congratualtions!. Grown up was a great episode. I love everything that's going on with every characters. I think you have captured the YA essence. It was worth the wait. Keep up the great work!!!!!
I do have one question though...
Does Dr. Parker knows about Jake pretending to be a guy to attend Rawley, and that's why Jake and Hamilton have to hide it from the dean? It seems to me that he doen't.

Hey all,
Read the episode again and pay attention cause they did DO IT....!!! hehehe ...
That is why I was hurling.....!!!!!!!
Here is the sequence of events to backtrack ...on the evidences ..:
"He takes her hand as she sits down and kisses him. He leans back. She continues kissing him.
(fade out)
Will: I, uh…fell asleep at Bella’s.
Scout: Oh…
Will smiles.
Will: We were watching a movie, man.
Will walks toward the door.
(cut to): a shot in front of Will with Scout watching over his shoulder. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath.
Will (voice over): Sometimes we forget to do the growing up that we need to do. We do things that we aren’t ready for. We regret it.
Bella. She’s in class at Edmund. Sean sits next to her.
Sean: You all right?
Bella nods.
(cut to): a closer shot of Bella.
Will (v.o.) cont’d: Figuring it all out…making mistakes…that’s growing up, I guess. Sometimes it happens before you’re ready, but…you can’t stop it."
Now Boyz, u tell me whether these quotes answer the questions that u boyz has been asking....???
WIll is diving into adulthood faster than we all have thought he would...!!!!!! He is getting more interesting now...!!!!

Re: Grown UP, Epi 4
see, I thought maybe Estee was just trying to throw us a curve ball. i was thinking that when the next ep is posted we'll find out that Will and Bella broke up or something. you know, because it never actually happens like you think its going to happen. i guess i watch too much tv. i'm reading too much into it.
Re: Grown UP, Epi 4
In reality...I'm open to suggestions for where to go with Will and Bella. Harmony and I know pretty much what we're going to do, but if everyone is completely against going a certain way then...we won't. Point is...let us know what you think about the Will/Bella potential sleeping together thing. Thanks, thanks, thanks

ESTEE,
Somehow I am all for it cause it opens WILL up a lot more. It takes his seriousness out of the way and makes him more precarious...!!!
I like the new WILL...!!!! ANd it adds lots of spice into the story between WILL AND BELLA.... LOTS OF IT...!!!!

What's up with Ryder
I mean is the guy going through some sort of personality crisis or what?? First he's in, then he's out, then he's in again.
Mind you I can just imagine the expression on his face when he gives J&H his tacit approval (and I've been feasting on the UK version of "Queer as folk' so I'm very familiar with Charlie's facial expression ;-)
Okay, enough of that.
Another great ep. Actually it's good Jake and Ham didn't do it. They weren't ready...yet. Good stuff with Scout and Greg and interesting to see Will's parents make an appearance again. Hmmm, wonder where that's heading.
Grown Up
As usual...another brilliant episode! I am constantly in awe of how wonderfully written your "Will Voice-Overs" are.
The scenes with Jake and Ham could have easliy ended up being "public service announcements" but your writing softened and expained beautifully and realistically the feelings and fears that go along with teenaged sex. Good job!!
You are awesome!!!
One question: What's up with Ryder?????

WOW.
Estee and Harmony, this was such an awesome episode. whether u think so or not, or even if u said it was just a transitional one, it was beautiful. i loved ur consistancy with the theme, it was so awesomely written, as usual. i think you delt with the sex issue perfectly, i couldn't have imagined it any better. so, thank you once again for writing exceptionally and enlightening my otherwise dreary finals week. much appreciated, please keep it up!

Ham's cat?
Hey, nice episode; as always...I was wondering if you guys decided a name for Ham's new kitty; I thought it might of been included in this one...but guess not. Well, just wanted to know a name.
Jake
Questions, Comments, Rude Remarks?
Of course, I knew how everyone would react to Ryder. I'm still torn on the Ryder issue. I mean, look at Drue Valentine on DC. I kinda like that guy now. Weird. Although, I'll never understand why they'd spell his name like that. I've got some ideas about where Ryder's character will go in his last few episodes on the show. I think he kind of gets that his time is limited there. Maybe he wants to leave on a high note? Or maybe he wants to go out with a bang. I don't know yet. I guess my question to you guys is, is it really so far-fetched that Ryder show/grow a little compassion as he gets into his last few months at Rawley? It might be. What do you think?
As far as if it's still Spring or summer or whatever, I just thought I'd clear that up: it's still the Spring semester. It will be until we get the eighth episode written. That will be the "season finale." So, basically, the eps are just behind where we are here in the real world. We've got something special planned for the summer...their summer, that is. It won't exactly be episodes, but, by the time our fall comes around, they will be headed back to school for the fall too. Make sense? Basically, the correlation will be off until the fall.
Ham's cat. Yeah. We always remember that and then forget to work it in. He's gotta name that thing at some point. Wow...perfect...I just had an epiphany. Not about the name, but how to get a name. Gotta ask Harmony about this, but...we might have a contest.
Also, we've been tossing around the idea of making a CD with all the songs that we mention in the episodes. You know, since Napster is basically worthless these days. I'm thinking we would charge you and I kind of have a moral dilemma about that since we aren't supposed to be making money from this. So...what do you think? Would you pay for such a CD? Would you think it would be totally wrong of us to charge you? You're allowed to say yes
Okay, enough from me. Off to clean my room and ponder the next episode.

Re: Grown UP, Epi 4
I don't think its far fetched that Ryder opens up and shows some emotion. However, I do think that it would be far fetched for him to show that emotion to anyone other than maybe Gwen.
I mean, Drue doesn't really show emotion. You just kind of get a glimpse of what makes him tick through conversations he has with the other characters. For example, Wednesday night was the rerun where he's locked up with Joey in the storeroom. He doesn't poor his heart out to Joey about his crummy father. He just bitches a little bit while maintaining his cool, sexy exterior and then you realize at the end of the episode that he was really hurting about his dad.
Point is, you can make him sensitive and likable without making him a sap.

Re: Grown UP, Epi 4
From my initial reaction [see above post] I would have to repeat again that I am contented with him showing his affection only towards Gwen...
I don't want to repeat myself so just go scroll past posts and read my previous posts....
Anyway, I just feel that Ryder became totally out of character.... I agree with Kori about Drue and eventhough there is a need to show his compasionate side, I don't think it would be that discreet.
For the CD, it really depends. Promote it and we shall see....!!
