H1N1 vaccine
If you or your child is immunosuppressed please be aware that the H1N1 nasal spray vaccine contains live virus and should be avoided; wait for the shot. Officials are now recommending kids over age 10 may need a second shote 3 weeks after the first. The shot does NOT contain any live vius. Glenn

H1N1 vaccine
Hi Glenn:

Is there any chance that the vaccine will stir up inflammation? In Tara, the Hep A vaccine did.

Thanks,
Donna

H1N1 vaccine
Thanks for the heads up, Glenn. Did you mean to say, "Officials are now recommending kids UNDER age 10 may need a second shot 3 weeks after the first"?
Do you have any information on the risks of these shots in idiopathic but autoimmune related uveitis?

Re: H1N1 vaccine
they said on TV that kids under 10 may need to get the shot. kids over 10 are have a robust reaction to the vaccine so they won't need a second shot.

DR Foster recommends that all of his patients get a flu shot as well as other vaccinations. NO NASAL VACCINE as it is a live virus though.
it is also recommended that family members of anyone with a suppressed immune sytem also get a flu shot. this includes diabetics of any age (I am diabetic)

shot
I know of no scientific study linking the 'flu' shot to any stirring up of inflammation be it idiopathic or associated w/a systemic disease. The nasal spray does contain a small amount of live virus and should be used for people who are healthy and between the ages of 2 and 49. So all of us who are immunosuppresed or have a diesease that impacts or health should only get the shot. Glenn
