Hallway Meetings-The Musical
Nalani walked quickly along the halls, her arms full of books and other such supplies.
Her day had been just one of those days when you can't bring yourself to do anything until she heard a voice rise above the hall chatter despite it's softness.
Nalani turned her head towards the sound and poaked her head into one dorm room. She smiled as she saw Clay, tapping his pencil as he sang softly but in a powerful rich voice.
"Hey is this a private concert or can anyone come watch?" she asked teasingly.
Clay jumped as he looked up at her. He clearly hadn't realised she had been there and his face flushed red in embaressment. "I uh..I didn't hear you come in," he said, trying to recover.
"No obviously not over the mad applause," she continued but relented upon realising how incredibly embaressed he looked. "Relax you sounded great, better than half the bands around."
"Only half?" Clay asked, raising one eybrow and Nalani grinned. He was catching on to the whole teasing thing fairly quickly.
"Come on I'm being generous here," Nalani said, a broad smile now across her face.
Clay's expression was more serious though. "So did you just come for the music or did you want to talk?"
"I don't want to talk about..not about that," Nalani said, her eyes downcast.
"There's something Nalani. I can feel it and whether it's just the pull of friends or of powers we should at least try and find a scientific explanation," Clay said quietly.
"Actually I'm kinda late for class I should probably go. Um good luck with your concert," Nalani said and she left the doorway, continuing along the halls. She couldn't help but sneak one look over her shoulder though. There was something about him. She didn't think it was romantic and there was probably a completely realistic explanation but whatever it was Nalani liked his magnetic pull, even if the talk while they were together was awkward.
She really was late for class though, for the first time in years. Nalani hurried down the hall, onwards to her next class, leaving Clay unfocused as he tried to finish his physics with Nalani on the brain.
