Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
When the girls entered the hanger, Dawn's mouth almost dropped open in awe as she stared at the large black jet, Rogue as well looked over the fighter jet with an impressed glance.
"That...Cat...I'm guessing is the Blackbird." Dawn whispered in responce to a question that she had asked earlier but was left without an answer until now. Dawn had never seen it, since most students are kept in the dark about these sort of things, but they where part of the X-teams now..
"That is sooo cool.." She whispered in a hushed voice to Lisa, but then became more serious as Sean and Angela entered the hanger. She was sure Sean must have seen the jet before, his mother being one of the first X-Men and all, she didn't want to seem like a wide eyed kid staring at a new toy. Flashing him a warm smile as he approached them, glade he was looking better and then inwardly sighing as she realized his glasses where back in place. But she knew him better now then she had before so the glasses really didn't bother her as much as they used to, she blushed slightly as she looked off towards the jet after realizing she was staring, but Angela quickly stole the spotlight as she stared at the get.
"We're gonna fly in that thing? Ha...Cody's gonna be so jealous." She teased out loud before her attention was directed towards Jean and Rogue, they seemed to be discussion something.
"Perhaps we get them settled into the plan before we inform them of what's going on." In the teleapths hands where combat suits designed for the students, each one folded in a clear plastic wrap with their names. Jean left her friends side as she handed everyone but the Slayer a uniform they could use that was designed especially for them.
"They're all just black, if you want a costume uniform I suggest you talk with your team leader about getting one." She offered with a faint smile as she glanced over at Sean, glade he was out of bed, but slightly worried he was already heading back out on a mission.
"The change rooms are over there, please hurry, Storm will be arriving soon with her team, and we need to be ready to leave by then." The girls looked at Jean for a moment, but then eyed their neatly wrapped uniforms before making their way towards the locker rooms.
"Wow...we get our own uniforms and all.." Angela whispered in suprise as they left the telepaths earshot, though realized that was pointless since she was after all...a telepath. She fiddled to balance the shoes in her other hands as she tried not to scrunch up her new uniform, but she was rather excited....even if she had no idea what was going on..
"Jubilee, we come into this world alone...and we leave the same way...the time we spend in between...time spent alive, sharing, learning...together...is all that makes life worth living."
She was impressed, it would have been hard not to be, her eyes travelled over the sleek jet ... she would have given a lot to be able to fly it, but she got the idea she wasn't the sort of person they would ever let behind the controls of something like that ... especially not if they saw the way she could drive sometimes.
But it wasn't like she wasn't in control of the car, her quick reflexes helped her to manage car even if she was going at high speeds, very high speeds and it didn't help that on occasions she was being encouraged to go faster by the presence of flashing blue lights and sirens.
'They're all just black, if you want a costume uniform I suggest you talk with your team leader about getting one.' Lisa almost snatched the costume from Jean's outstretched hands, looking down almost unbelievingly at the package with her name printed on the top.
"Lisa Jessica Redpath"
It was really hers, she was a member of X-force, she wanted to dance about with the packaged costume. However she soon sobered up when she realised that there should have been an extra set of clothing for Riley, her team leader was missing. It wasn't that she minded Sean being leader, she knew he was suited for the role but he just wasn't Riley.
Catherine meanwhile was staring at the package being held out towards her. She stretched out slowly and took the costume, her eyes looking dubiously at it.
'It looks errrr very close fitting.' She said looking at the neatly folded material. Noticing the X-woman Rogue for the first time and distinctly looking away remembering her comments from the medical bay.
She failed to see Dawn's eyes upon Sean and the faint blushing in the girls cheeks however Lisa noticed and made a mental note to interrogate her friend upon her behaviour later.
Cat was not best pleased with the new uniform she was dressing herself in, the material clung to her, hugging close over her hips and slender waist and over her chest. She felt uncomfortable and out of place, she wanted her baggy combats back. She picked up one of the brushes from underneath the mirror she was standing in front of and pulled her hair back into a high pony tail, fastening it with a black rubber band she had been provided with. She glanced across at Lisa who was almost preening herself in front of the mirror, she noticed the zip on the front of the girls combat outfit was so low it was nearly indecent, she pulled the zip on her own gear as far up as it would go without cutting off her air supply. Was she the only unhappy one here? She looked around, the other seemed to have forgotten their earlier depression very well, it irritated her how quickly they seemed to have forgotten the boy who was meant to be their team leader.

Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
Sean's sight fell on the blackbird, the long sleek flying vessel that the X-Men used to get about the planet quickly and efficiently, he had heard stories from his parents of the jet, but never before had he seen it before. It's shimmering black paint made him smile, from the first time Sean had heard stories of this plane he had wanted, and pestered for, a ride.
His view shifted to those already congregated in the Hanger, noticing that the people there, excluding his Mother, were co-members of team X-Force. At that realisation his vision fell upon Dawn, he saw her looking straight back at him and he smiled. As soon as the smile curved his lips the young woman turned away, smiling to with a slight pink to her cheeks, he grinned a little wider, he hadn't had that effect on someone for a long time.
He walked over to the group and listened to his Mother tell them what she could for now on and that they would be joined by Storm's team as well. But it was when she pulled out the smart black uniforms that Sean new it was something big and important for the team, wait, his team (at least for the time being). He watched as the others took there uniforms and went to change, he to took the crisp uniform from his Mother's grip and proceded to the changing room. Once inside it didn't take him long to pull of his regular clothing and fit into the smart, stylish black suit that was his X-Men costume. Excitement filled his body when he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror on the wall as he hung his old cloths up; he was an X-Man.
Grinning Sean walked back out to the hanger and to his Mother's position next to the Blackbird, it's lower hatch now open and ready for boarding. He felt like running straight on now and taking a look around, but he knew he couldn't, what was important though was finding out about his apparent leadership of X-Force. He walked up to Jean continuing to smile, his new found strength in his abilities also adding to his good mood;
"Mum, I know this isn't really the time to talk about my personal experiences, but I jus wanted to say I am so gald to be home again, and I think you'll be surprised when we next have a power's lesson." Sean grinned cheekily, he was eagerly awaiting showing his new abilities to his Mother and mentor. "But i have a pressing question; Anglea told me something on the way here, she said I had been put into temperary leadership of X-Force, is that right?" Sean looked at his Mother questioningly, his grin slightly surpressed now that they were talking about more pressing matters......

Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
Staring at the reflection in the mirror, Angela seemed transfixed on the person staring back at her, but Dawn was rather preoccupied for the time to notice her friends odd behaver. All the girls had rather slim well kept figured, but other then Lisa, none of them really showed it off, although Dawn did have a top or two which where rather low cut, nothing too flashy. These things really clung to the body, you'd hate to be unfit and wear these, honestly, Dawn was partly unnevered over going back outside where she knew Sean and the X-Woman where waiting.
A light chuckle escaped her as she turned around, keenly doing her best to avoid the all knowing eyes of Lisa, trying to act as calm as possible. But her smile faded slightly as she realized Angela wasn't admiring her reflection, like most would think giving her a passing glance.
"You ready Angie?" Dawn whispered, but Angela shook her head slowly, she had her mothers eyes, but her mother had a twin and her twin had blonde hair, her mother and father both had black. She was just thinking how proud her parents would be if they saw her, but then she corrected herself and said how proud her father would be....then she found herself thinking over what her mother would have thought of her now if she was still around.
"Just a moment.." She whispered quietly with an uncertain and worried tone, Angela had a habit of sometimes dropping into depressed moods really quickly, but Dawn and Lisa managed to pull her out of them more often then not. Putting up her hair into a high pony-tail, she avoided looking back at the mirror and turned her back to it, moving towards the other girls who where already dressed and waiting.
"Gee...these things are gonna need some getting used to." She teased with a faint smile as she nervously placed her hands over her slim stomach, the look Dawn gave seemed to hint that she agreed. But Dawn stared at the door for a moment and then nervously rubbed her arm and stroked some of her loose hair over her shoulder.
"Ok...after you." Dawn stood behind Lisa and purposefully nudged her slightly as she gave the door another uncomfortable glance.
My entire life I've been drowning in my sisters shadow..
..for once I want to shine..
Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
Lisa seemed not to notice Angela's slight digressional phase, she was trying to keep herself from jumping up and down on the spot yelling 'yay yay yay.'
She felt Dawn nudge her arm, moving confidently towards the door, turning the handle and passing out into the hanger once again to see that blackbird again. She couldn't believe she was going to fly in it, they had to, had to let her learn how to fly that thing. Fighting down the urge to skip she made her way towards the blackbird, Angela and Dawn in the middle, Catherine trailing along at the back managing to look completely unenthusiastic about the whole affair. She found however it was easier to move in these things than she'd thought at first, her eyes met Sean's with a flicker of recognition. She saw his glasses were back in place now, hiding the hazel eyes beneath, scowling slightly she hung back from the others, crossing her arms across her chest.

Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
The southern belle had waited impatiently for the team to arrive but as a crowd of newbies began to gather, Rogue had just one thought
*Those kiddos'll rather be standin' in our way than bein' of any help*
Frustration filled her mind but at the same time, she felt guilty for it. Just that they were young didn't mean they were useless, still when it came to matters concerning Spike, Rogue found herself to be overly careful, sensitive and cautious.
It had cost her a lot of will power not to run to the rescue immediately and now that she saw only one person she actually knew had combat experience - only one person she could really count on - it made her sick.
Doubts whether they'd really manage to defeat Angelus and return with Will and all unharmed arose in her; no matter how hard she tried, Rogue simply couldn't stop herself from repeatedly thinking one line - over and over again
*What if he leaves me now and forever?*
There had been loss and tragedy in the southern gal's life before - as much and even more as in that of every of her team mates and friends - yet this time, she had the feeling that losing him now would break her down... possibly without return.
As Storm entered the hanger being accompanied by her team - or better those who had volunteered to join the mission since Rogue knew that her friend would never force someone inexperienced in such a situation - the southern belle's worries were lifted at least a little.
Jean, Ororo and herself together - even alone they'd stand a chance!
Entering the hanger, Circe and Storm approached the crowd without hesitation not paying attention to the others' reaction. Ororo since she had seen the blackbird uncountable times before, Garnet because her father owned jets even larger than that.
As they had stopped, the windrider stepped a little aside so she could see everyone at once.
"I believe everyone is here.
Some general things before Jean explains what exactly we're up to be doing. Since none of you had an initial training section with the team, I think this to be necessary.
Please listen carefully to everything we're saying since this might save your lives!
First of all: Trust everyone of this team at the fullest but be vigilant! There might be beings able to shift their appearance or cause halluzinations so think for yourself and don't follow every order blindly! If you have doubts and enough time, use your communicator to quickly call the person you see speaking with you to verify his or her identity.
However, there are some commands that need to be followed out of a reflex! Those are duck, run, guard yourself and withdraw. Whenever someone you know shouts that, do as said! In a combat situation involving more than two of you, those commands only makes sense if you know the others' names. So please try and learn them on the way!
In addition, you have to try and rely on each other. If someone of the team needs your help, then help. Anyway, there is one more important rule regarding that: Don't play the hero! There's nothing gained when we lose two of you instead of one both of which the Goddess may prevent"
The weather witch had spoken calmly but with her commando tone. A nod signalized Jean that Storm had said what she wanted to hoping the young X-Men would memorize it well.
Rogue, knowing the rules by heart although there were some more experienced teams followed without ever having been told so, hadn't listened to her friend's speech but had examined the students with her eyes. Some of them - like Aurora - she recognized knowing their fighting skills, other students - like Dawn - didn't look like fighters at all. However, judging from first sight was something Rogue barely did. Time would tell soon.
As a familiar voice spoke next to her, the absorption mutant's wandering mind focused on the source: Aran.
"I'll help you"
The greening mutant simply said with a light smile in reply to a short intercom message she had sent earlier.
"If you wanna help me, come to the hanger. We gonna get rid of Angelus and such..."
Very vague - but although he didn't know much about what exactly was going on between Spike and Rogue, Dryad sensed her personal attachement to the mission. She was his friend, one of the very few knowing about his past and he trusted her. And most importantly: He wanted to help her.
The southern belle returned the smile but as Jean apparently was about to speak, she concentrated on her instead knowing that Aran wouldn't get it wrong.
Although eager to lift off, a plan was something Rogue didn't have. Just her mission's goal: Rescuing Spike!
Life can be like a stone thrown in the sea. It creates waves, maybe changing something, maybe not, but no matter what it causes, every single wave will disappear into nowhere...
Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
Taking in a deep breath, Dawn felt the eyes of the X-Woman scan over here, she pretended not to notice and tried to remain calm and not appear too nervous. Angela felt slightly uncomfortable by the thought of one of them dying, but she tried to focuse hard on remaining focused. They can survive Max...the popular school bully who thought mutants where above humans, they can survive anything..
"We're going to be fighting demons, our main goal is a creature calling himself Angelus, in his world he blacked out the sun, leaving it with an eternal darkness. He has a partner, a female vampire called Drusilla, these are extremely powerful, I suggest you try and avoid them, leaving them for the more experienced X-Men.
A guest of ours has been taken, some may know him, Spike, he is a vampire, but he is with us, and we want to get him back. Rogue will lead the team to the Basement where we're told Angelus keeps his....guests, Catherine and Jennifer will go with her. Their quick reflexes and agility will help them inside, we need the rest of you to help hold off the forces this Angelus may have.
The Spike we are rescuing is from the other Dimension that Angelus and our Jennifer here came from, there is another Spike, with us now, he will be the key to us entering the building, without him, we can not enter through the barriers around it." As she spoke, she motioned for people to begin boarding the jet, Dawn and Angela hurried on board with the others, the two girls taking two seats together, right beside the two seats that Lisa and Cat got. Angela sat by the window, she fidgeted with her hair for a bit as she waited, a few seats behind them was the vampire Spike, along with some others she wasn't sure of. Dawn peered back at the double version of Spike, the one with a soul, he smirked at her and she quickly looked away and stared at Lisa for a moment...that was just creepy.
Angela peered out the window for a moment, Dawn stared down at her lap before whispering to Angela under her breath.
"I wish Riley was here.....I can't belive he just left us...your first mission and he isn't even here to see us all dressed up and ready.." Angela glanced at Dawn as she spoke, but Dawn sighed and let the subject drop, Angela had the feeling there'll be many more complaints having to do with Riley for a long time...
Jennifer took a seat by herself, folding her arms as she ignored the Spike sitting behind her, he wasn't the only vampire on the jet either...a group of vampires heading off to fight vampires... this never happened in L.A.
"I'll fly us there, are there any questions before we leave, once we get there, I'm sure we'll be thrown straight into combat, if you're unsure of something, better say it now." Jean looked over the faces, both young, older, and those faces belonging to the ageless members of the current crew.
"Jubilee, we come into this world alone...and we leave the same way...the time we spend in between...time spent alive, sharing, learning...together...is all that makes life worth living."

Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
Seam listened intently to his Mother and the other members of the X-Men explain the situation, he envied the three women stood before him, but the Spike that was stood near them did make him wonder a bit, was there a double him where he had just been? He quickly shoved that thought to the back of his mind, he had to concentrate.
As Jean motioned for them to board the Blackbird Sean made his way aboard the plane, behind the women. He watched as the others sat down and saw Dawn looking a little uncomfortable as she took her seat. Sean quickly altered his path and took the seat directly behind Dawn, he quickly pulled the seat belt across his body, securing himself in, and then leaned forward so that the young woman could see him, the light from the overhead strip-lights glowed lightly on her face, illuminating her;
"Hey," Sean said with a smile, "This is pretty excitin aint it, I like the uniform by the way." Sean grinned, his eyes glowed brightly behind his red visor, his grin widening. "I wonder what our role in all this will be?" He asked, both to Dawn and to himself.....
Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
Shalimar listened in as Storm passed the floor to Jean as she finished breifing the team on the mission,it wasnt the fact she didnt want to learn every detail of the mission it was just patience wasnt one of her virtues esp considering a life was at danger.
As Jean motioned them to board the jet Shalimar followed the rest of the team in and found a vacant seat near the front of the jet and sat down.
*Dark Angel*Hey, you mind if i sit down next to you ?
Vulpine looked over to see the girl she met in the school offices,Beth.
*Shalimar*Yeh,sure why not I could use someone to chat with on the ride down...So who exactly are you and why do ya have such a interest in this mission ?
*Dark Angel*Well what do you think? One of your people is in trouble and I figured you would need as many hands as possable plus I fight demons regularly so.....
Shalimar could tell there was another motive there but she had a preety good idea why and didnt wanna push it out.
The 2 girls waited patiently for the mission to get underway.

Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
Aurora, Storm, Rogue and Aran had already entered the jet.
Hearing the division Jean had in mind, Storm immediately set up a strategy for herself and those whose powers and the extend in which they were able to control them she knew.
"I will lead one of the groups guarding the way back while Jean takes the other. I believe this could prove useful"
Circe couldn't believe what she was hearing. Guard the way back? She wanted to prove something not do some mid-level Danger Room training-like mission!
"I'd like you to join my team"
She suddenly heard Rogue's voice close by but her sigh of relief got stuck in her throat as she realized it was not her the southern belle spoke to. It was Dryad.
Aurora's thoughts apparently were easy to read on her face - at least for Rogue - since the absorption mutant continued addressing both of the younger X-Men.
"The teams guardin' the ways need to fight constantly with changin' opponents. Aran's solar beams are pretty effective against vamps, maybe even more than your flames, Garnet, but contrary to you, he can't use this power for long. So havin' him in a battle with a few, very strong enemies including our main target and you and the others keeping the rest off our backs, is most probably the better strategy"
It was making perfect sense, Aurora had to reluctantly admit than, but still it was... disappointing.
Aran threw a sympathetic look at Circe and tried a smile. "At least your chance of dyin' isn't as high as mine. That's a plus!"
Realizing what he had just said, the greening mutant decided to better shut up and sit back.
The jet would lift off soon...
Life can be like a stone thrown in the sea. It creates waves, maybe changing something, maybe not, but no matter what it causes, every single wave will disappear into nowhere...
Thompson walked slowly down the corridor, he had managed to trace Cat to this room, there seemed to be a lot of people gathered, he stopped a little way off to scope out the situation with his mind, they were going to search for vampires it would seem, interesting.
he walked slower down the corridor towards the doors at the end, it had been hard to get here unnoticed, and would be even harder to get in that room unndetected, but Cat was now on what seemed to be a plane, and if he was going to follow her he would either need to be on it, or to place a tracer on it, and both required entering the room.
taking a deep breath he headed for the doors, deciding the best way to get on the plane would be to walk in and offer his assistance, then if they refused, he could plant a tracer. as he approached the doors they slid open, he made no attempt to conceal himself "you could probably use some proffesional help" sure it wasnt the best opening line, but he had to start somewhere
Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
The two girls sat in silence, Cat because she had nothing to say and Lisa because she was thinking how Riley should be here. It wasn't that she minded Sean leading X force, she knew he was caperable but she just felt like Riley was still in charge.
Lisa sat next to the window, staring out at the hanger, listening to Jean as she spoke, she glanced over at Cat who was managing to look very unimpressed about the whole thing. The only thing the agility mutant was glad about was the fact that she got to go with Jen.
'Great just great.' Catherine muttered under her breath, giving Sean a ghost of a smile as he sat down and then ignored him. She didn't want to fight anymore but she couldn't stand up in front of all these people and say that. She glowered at the back of her hands only looking up when Thompson entered the jet and then it was only for a moment.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
*This worlds Spike had virtually remained silent, ignoring the fact that a slayer was sitting in front of himself. He still didn't really like the fact that a slayer sitting so close to him, both had their reasons to ignore each other. Anyway it's not as if a slayer and a vampire were supposed to be best friends. In truth Spike knew another slayer, this worlds one. He smirked to himself as he remembered helping save the poor slayer from demons.
Then he shook his head to himself at the thought that where there was something in this world, there was something the same or similar in another. Sure, he had heard of other dimensions before, after all in over a thousand years a vampire does run into a demon or two who thinks that they are crash hot because they can jump through dimensions and other worlds. Spike didn't really care for the fact that there were other dimensions, including one where he also lives as well. At the moment all he wanted to do was hurry and get this mission done and out of the way.*

Re: Hanger - Rescuing the Dead
(ooc- I apologise for my short post, but I've been doing a few posts over the board and it doesn't seem to have agreed with me, my headache returned..*sobs as she rubs her pain throbbing head*)
With a nervous glance down at her uniform, Dawn cleared her throat slightly as she looked back up, if she was embarressed or uncomfortable she hide it well as she smiled and returned the compliment.
"Yeah, they look very nice." She replied, glancing over at Lisa who gave her that damn look that meant Dawn was going to be interrogated later on.. The spellcaster simply stroked some hair behind her ear and looked back at Sean, but before she could say anymore, Jean called out for everyone to belt in and prepare for take off. Turning around, Dawn glanced down at her uniform once more, a faint grin crossing her lips from Sean's comment on them while she buckled in. She was glade they had to sit properly actually, because she got all rosey cheecked as soon as she turned around, keeping her head low so her hair could fall and hide her face from Lisa and Angela's glances.
