Happy New Year to you, too, Mike and all. Two out of three isn't bad. I'm still working on the prosperity part 0]

Re: Happy New Year
I can only 'imagine' what prosperity is after our 401k losses this year with the financial meltdown. I hope I can afford a vacation this year as this will be our 40th wedding anniversary in July. this would have to be a 'summer' and 'hot' vacation to make Jan's day. she doesn't like airconditioning so I would be in a terrible fix as I cannot tolerate heat anymore.

wish you the best,
Mike

Re: Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you too Mike and Liz!

Prosperity is a tough one right now, especially right after Christmas.:\ I do plan to curb my shopping this year, planning only to shop when I REALLY need something. Seems to work well when I stay home for the day...hmmmmm.:lol

I just added up the Vet fees for Tyler this past year...over $3000! I don't regret it, he was part of our family. For those of you who don't know....we lost our beloved 11 yr. old Golden mix, a month ago to cancer. He had been fighting it well, on Leukeran and Prednisone (yup, even dogs can tolerate it) since June. The tumors began bleeding through, he became weak, stopped eating and I could see 'the look' in his eyes. We made the call and took him in. We still miss him dearly but know that he is truly in a better place. He's young and chasing his beloved tennis balls again.:smokin

Our family is hoping for a much healthier year to come for us and also for all of you. Blessings to all.

My best, Gae

Re: Happy New Year
Happy New year! Gae I'm sorry about your baby. We lost our golden to cancer a couple of years ago, and I still haven't been able to get another dog. He was only 3, and our german shepherd before that became sick at the age of 5 (allergic to everything). I don't think we have good luck with dogs, as much as I loved them. However, we do have a cat that we rescued this summer. He is so dang fiesty, black with a white tipped tail and a little white collar. Tom "Priest" Taunton lol :lol

Hope this year is a quiet one for all of you,
Renee'

Re: Happy New Year
Gae,
it is so very difficult to loose a pet as they really are one of your 'kids' so to speak, Tyler was so very lucky to have you as his 'master' and he comforted you in return during your very difficult times with uveitis and whatever is your underlying cause. I do wish you the very best my friend.

take care,
Mike

Re: Happy New Year
Renee',
please say hi to Alexa and the rest of the family. I really missed the annual get together in Oregon.

I hope that the tourist trade isn't too terribly diminished this coming year so that all of you in Depoe Bay can be prosperous.

Take care,
Mike

Re: Happy New Year
Renee,
Good luck with the new kitty! A family has to have some kind of pet...even though I'm not a cat lover, I can appreciate them.:D

Thanks for your expression of sympathy for Tyler. Yes, Mike is right...he was my 'rock' when I needed him. He spent his last months laying on the floor next to my side of the bed at night. This may sound a bit morbid, but I now have his ashes (in a beautiful woooden box) on my night table, facing where he used to lay. We had planned to bury him in our (his) yard, but I'm still not letting go.;) Maybe in the springtime, I'll feel different....

Our other dog, Brady, was in mourning for almost a week. He would walk around the house at night and keep asking to go out...looking for him, I suppose. He's still confused about eating...he was used to watching Tyler eat first, then he would go ahead...not always finishing. He's a Shih-Tzu, so very picky anyway! I never had to coax Tyler to eat, that's for sure!:lol Golden's will eat all day, if you let them...

Anyway, hi to Lexi for me. Is she driving you crazy yet?? He-he...I remember those teen years very well.

My best, Gae

Re: Happy New Year
Gae, Not morbid at all. We had our goldens ashes for quite a few months, until one summer day we spread them near his favorite swimming hole. I still miss my red haired Jack. I hope Brady is doing well now.

Oh, and Crazy is my middle name. I have a 19, 16 and 13 year old. lol

Thanks Mike! 2009 will be a better year for us all ;) I miss seeing you as well. If I ever get up that way, I'll let you know and I'll buy you a beer, yea yea yea, no lite colored stuff. lol

Happy New Year!
