Has anyone heard from Dr Stephanie?
Hi Mike and Everybody---

Here I am!!!
I have a new, used lap top I an adjusting to, and have been off-line (unless for work) for a long while. Sorry tohave been out of touch for so long!

I am doing great. Have been able to wean down and off one of my meds. I was so happy to be able to eat grapefruit again after about 4 years on Cyclosporine! I had a visit at MERSI yesterday to make sure getting rid of that med had done no harm, and was glad to get good reports!

and was pleased to finally meet Frances, Allison Justus, and also briefly met Gay who spoke up in the waiting room. What a shame I did not have more time to spend with her and get acquainted in person!

I hope to keep more abreast with what is going on here as the days grow shorter, since I spend a little less time at work during shorter sinter days. I believe there are a lot of new folks I will have to get acquainted with.

Mike, I appreciate all you do and am glad to see you are still here!

My best to all!

S tephanie

Re: Has anyone heard from Dr Stephanie?
Dr. Stephanie,
THANK YOU for checking in with this GREAT update on your eyes!
I wish you had more time to get to know Gae and Frances who are both WONDERFUL ladies for whom I have great respect and admiration. Both of their journeys with uveitis and other health concerns have been very difficult as has yours.

I am also heartened that you think highly of me. It means allot by the way.

lots of reading for you in the Learning about OID forum too if you get a chance. some amazing stuff actually from a drop that can help stop corneal transplant vascularization and another drop to reverse glaucoma damage. even hope for Alzheimer's, Degenerative disc disease and UVEITIS. and, treatment for both Wet and DRY AMD in the offerings.

often members have asked if dental disease can impact uveitis and it MAY as it kicks off IL17 production a major contributor to uveitis. CSF is using an IL17 blocking drug in initial research with good results the AIN 457 study.

comment too in that forum,,

Wishing you the very best my friend,
Mike

Stephanie,

So pleased to read that you're off one med and your eye hasn't flared. It makes me smile thinking of you tucking into grapefruit again!

Maxine.

Re: Has anyone heard from Dr Stephanie?
Dear Dr. Stephanie,

Welcome back! And I' m so pleased to hear that your eye situation is quietly "improving". That's great news! We never met before in this orum because I'm a new member. Mike told me yo' ve had eye surgery. It was the same for me. If you don' t mind I' d have some questions about enucleation. Please, I don' t mean to bother you nor pry into your oersonal matter. It' s just scientific curiosity.

Wishing you the very best,

Federica.
