Haunted House in Ft. Myers
Got this E-mail earlier this month. Anyone see the show she mentioned on the Travel Channel?

I E-mailed her for more info...

I found a wonderful house built in 1837, but am worried it may be haunted being that old..
I lived in a very active haunted house in N Ft Myers, FL, near the Calusa River, that made the ones on the Travel Channel look like a big "and so" and that was when I thought all this stuff was a total bunch of hooey...but that is another story you may really be interested in at another time. That is one you should investigate if it is still there...really scary, lived in it about 4 months and just LEFT...assigned my contract and packed in a weekend! I never knew what orbs were, because I never believed in that stuff, when they used to fly and I mean FLY around my house, they never scared me because I knew nothing about them..I thought my god, where did I get these giant dustballs???

That is why I am so afraid to get into an old house. a REALLY old house...is a house that old almost guaranteed to be haunted?

Thanks, Donna

I havent been back there, or in contact with the people who bought it. I didnt believe in anything like this then, I had lots of activity in the yard. I had a haunted yard there! I had little red eyes looking in at me once. The same night, (other neighbors heard it too) I heard what sounded like rolling barrels..(it was weird, or drums of some kind) VERY LOUD and no logical explaination. My animals always acted crazy there. I also heard a very loud heartbeat when I saw the eyes. I left that weekend. It is a small house in N Ft Myers, near the Calusa river. I believe, although I dont remember the exact address..Barrett Rd, in N Fort myers, north street? It was out in the country. There were other shacky type houses there. My house was only about 800 sq ft. This was in 1990. The neighbors told me the owner bought the house and moved it there, it was a WWII body storage house. Dont know if that was true or not. The original house burned down and they replaced it with a shack that I lived in. There was also HUGE spiders everywhere, but hey, it was South FL. I should have kept it and done paranormal sleepovers and made money. I saw stuff everynight. Orbs visual to the human eye were nightly and daily. EVERY DAY. I thought they were just big dust bunnies until years later when I watched a show, long after I moved out.

Now, I am thinking about buying another old house. It was built in 1837 in Alliance Ohio. Does age alone make it haunted? I DONT want to live in a house with things that terrify me. What would be some signs to look for? Havent lived in another terrifying house since then. I I have to move to this one as they are offering owner financing and I sold mine! And this is the only house big enough for the family I now have.
