Hi again.
Hi everyone!
I have taken 3 doses of MTX so far and have a question. I missed my period (no, I am not pregnant) and am wondering if the MTX can cause periods to stop? Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks!
Kristy

Re: Hi again.
Hi Kristy

You should move this question to the Support and Coping section.

All the best
Roo
who cannot help you in this, because I'm menopausal anyway.

Re: Hi again.
I doin't know the answer. Suggest you post your question on the Ask Dr. Foster foru. This is the link. Look at the top left of the page you land on to log in. Your EZboard login should also work there is you have a GLOBAL account.

Re: Hi again.
What did the nurse tell you?

You didn't post in the wrong section. I think the suggestion to post in the COPING section was because more members might see it (there is a lively conversation there).

Welcome to our community. Personally, I am always amazed when anyone can figure out how to get to post here! Highly motivated individuals if you ask me.

Where do you hail from. I live in the Boston area.

Re: Hi again.
Hi Liz.

The nurse told me that the MTX can affect your cycle but once your body gets used to the drug it will straighten out again.

I have found that my biggest peeve taking this is I get a migraine the day after I dose. I mentioned this also and she asked me to keep a log and bring it on my next appt. and if the migraines get too bothersome, they may try another drug. The second day after I dose I have a regular headache all day long.

I live in Chesapeake, Va.

Re: Hi again.
Keep really well hydrated; 2-3 L. a day.

Ironically, MTX is used to treat intractable migraine. I've heard other's describe getting a headache after taking it. I'd give it a few more weeks myself.

But, there are other medications that work well for uveitis. No need to be miserable. If MTX isn't your cup of tea, move on. Sounds like your docs have other options.
