Well.. i was attempting before the merge to get a force together for regular group based frontier action.
I wish to know who would be willing to commit time to learn to work as a group... it is essential we have certain classes for such things.. i can either bring Ponga (the scout) or Dek (the speed) some things we need greatly are
Zerker, Warrior, Thane, Savage (the damage/distraction) 2x maybe more depending on the situation
Pac Healer (the control and 2/3rds the healing) at least one.. 2 isnt a bad idea
Shadowblade/hunter or Skald (the scout or the speed) depending on which i will play in this group .. 2 scouts may not be a bad idea depending on what we can get
Supp runie (the wall) very useful.. not 100% necissary .. but VERY useful
SM/Dark runie/Rune Runie/Cave Shaman/BD (the magic) Supp Sm is optimal if we have "the wall" but if not .. i think any 2 would be useful
Shaman (the might and 1/3rd the healing) med to high aug is almost necissary here
this can pretty much make an optimal "gank group" as it has been called.. may be tough to put this together .. especially with the lack of very active pac healers we have.
I think the most efficient setup would be
Skald
Pac Healer
Aug Shaman
Supp Runie
Shadowblade
Zerk
Warrior/Thane (someone with guard)
Supp SM
Tactic would be, we move at skald speed.. scouting ahead if we are in a known danger spot. otherwise moving off the beaten path occasionally sweeping in close enough to check the path and to have surprise on our enemies
Healer mez, Zerk, Warrior, move to unmezzed target proceed to beat the living daylights out of it, Skald inst-mez anything that isnt already mezzed that the zerk and warrior arent beating on or anything that gets close to the healer/shaman.. SM moves to largest cluster of enemies, warrior then moves close to the SM (with guard on) , Pac healer AE stuns that area, PBAE'er proceeds to nuke, Runie can either Nuke same target area or single target assist the Zerk who is still picking off the unmezzed in order of CC'ers/casters/healers/tanks
Sb and skalds main job in this is to protect healer/shaman from stealthers.. SB have a better chance of seeing them.. and Skalds with insta-mez can minimize the damage the enemy stealther can do.. SB and Skald also will protect the healer/shaman from Tanks that resisted or purged the mez.. if the Zerk isnt already picking them up.. or if the Zerk has another target already... shaman and healer of course heal any who are taking damage duringt he fight.. paying special attention to the SM, Healer will also single target mez or stun those who resist mez (single target mez) or those who purge mez (single target stun) and single target stun (if possible) the Zerkers or Skald/SB's target. Shaman will play secondary healer and has the option of single target Dot'ing to assist the Zerker or the Skald/SB.
i think that about covers it
there are several tactics of a healer to avoid being mezzed before casting mez.. if you are suprised.. insta-aemez is a life saver .. if you have surprise move in range as quick as possible even straight towards your enemy to ae mez as soon as possible.. if both groups are on guard or surprised.. veer off a bit to either side enough that if they ae mez the center mass of your group you will be out of the area and able to mez thier center mass.
(Kalicous may be a better person to ask about healer tactics to Mez and/or avoid being mezzed)
All members of the group should auto-follow the designated leader as soon as possible after the fight.. DO NOT REBUFF right after a fight... get your group members up to as much health as you can in about 3-5 seconds and auto-follow ...wait until you are clear of the area for any re-buffing

Now i know this idea may not be very feasible at this time.. and im not going to turn down anyone from Fimbulvetr for a group if i can help it.. i would rather have a full group of us together than have a mixed group of guilds to get the desired group. This is just something i "hope" we can do eventually as it says in the subject. We can work with whatever we can produce.. so .. if you are interested in a regular RVR group let me know.. we will work something out

hmmm, you know what might be fun... once the new ways of the gods are in place maybe lets all awaken new friends (either 20 or 30 seasons as it turns out they will be after the new patch) and start hunting together one night a week to teach them and to learn to hunt together. Of course I know not everyone has the strength to waken a younger friend but I think we could start putting together plans for a weekly "Fimbulvetr younger" group and if it goes well then we might soon be of an age to have others join us.
Looking back on this I see it is a bit rambling but I hope folks can ferret out my meaning

This is something I would like as well. We have quite a few folks that are nearing the age where they can do some serious damage on the field of battle. I am afraid Krylen will be retired but Brelik is not far from being useful in the frontiers. In the meanwhile, lets plan another frontier night. Would you care to do so?

I am greatly interested in the tactics you have laid out above Ponga. I am learnin fast with Afalyn and Vinji and will be ready for battle soon (41 now).
I am also learning armor, weapon, and tailor craftin to enable me to build siege in the field. Hopefully when I near 50 I will be ready on all areas, except for actual battleground skill. That is where I will need the help.
