Powers:
David has the ability to control water in its many forms. He can also create it, his powers however are not fully developed and he can only create water, and make simple shapes out of it. When fully developed he should be able to create mist and ‘solid’ forms out of water, like walls. Also he has the ability to turn his own body into water, either as a solid mass, or as a puddle that can then flow as water normally does, however it cannot be split
When under water Dave does not need to surface for air whilst in his watery form, also due to him being made of the same thing in this form he is pretty much invisible underwater. When in normal form the need to breathe is restored.
Without too much effort he is able to walk on the surface of water as if it were normal land, this is not because of solidifying the surface so a much as himself floating, rather hard to explain but he kind of floats if needed.
History:
he was born in England in the seaside town of Clacton, the only child of Sarah and Peter malleus, his life would have been spoilt if it had not been for a neighbour’s child (Ryan) who befriended him from an early age. They were about the same age wise and when either of the families went out the other babysitted for the children. Ryan had an older brother Sam as well and the three grew close over their childhood, this continued through school and even though they are now in different countries they still keep in contact.
Whilst growing up the most important person in his life was his father, Dave idolised him and Peter took the young Dave with him as much as possible. Growing up he joined in on some of his dad’s activities including boxing and rugby (not that he actually joined in with other people as that would be rather silly at such a young age) but his father’s health was slowly diminishing and this was so noticeable to even a youngster like Dave.
Still he assumed that it was normal and in a childish manner decided that everything was going to be ok, even though Peter was having trouble breathing and was in and out of hospital on a regular basis. In school Dave was not the cleverest person around, but then again he was not the worst so happily considered himself as average, Ryan on the other hand was not so bright, and regularly failed exams and forgot homework’s… but this was not too problematic as the ever-helpful Dave always offered assistance. So even though his fathers health was diminishing and his best friend was failing in everything Dave considered his childhood to be a happy one, he was busy with his sports, had a good few friends and a happy home life. What could possibly go wrong…
When Dave was 13 the inevitable occurred, his father had been suffering from lung cancer for a few years and finally he had lost the battle against the disease. Dave was devastated and his mother tried to be strong for him but was obviously suffering too from the loss. For a good year or so Dave suffered from depression, the only thing saving him from his own misery being Ryan and Sam, their influence keeping him sane through the misery.
his powers began to show when he was 15, when he first realised it he was surprised and scared not only because his friends turned away from him, but because ironically he had an intense hatred of water since the incident in his younger years.
He confided in his mother as soon as he knew of his powers and she encouraged him to conceal them from people, that is after the inevitable freak out session. This tactic of hiding his true identity worked only for a few months until an incident at school when his body spontaneously changed into solid water for a short period of time. When this happened, he was arrested by the local authorities and taken to a police station where he was held while the police contacted the military.
After a few hours within the police cell, he worked out how to change into a liquid form, and in this form he slid under the door of the cell. Outside the cell he changed back to his normal state, and after a small amount of dodging he escaped by stealing a van from the military that had come to pick him up.
Unable to return to his home for fear of what awaited him he sneaked on board a cargo ship to escape the country. Unfortunately he was discovered by the ships captain, and no amount of pleading seemed to work, he was shut in a sealed container for the rest of the trip. After what seemed like years to him, the container was finally opened, and he discovered from the sailors that he was now in New York and that they knew what he was due to a warning from the military that a dangerous mutant may be trying to hijack a way out of the country.
He was then handed over to some official looking people who claimed they were with the US government. He was shoved roughly into the back of a large black van where he was administered an injection to subdue him.
Personality:
he is a very cheerful person and gets on well with most people. He is not usually prone to bad moods, and will rarely anger, although he does get upset easily.
Likes:
he likes animals and had a pet dog before he left the country.
Dislikes:
he had a hatred of water before his powers developed, but due to his condition he grew to deal. His main hate is the fact that all his friends left him the second they found out he was different from them.
