there're two things I'd like you to take into consideration:
a) New Evolution takes place AFTER most of the original X-Men storylines (with some exceptions which make it not actually cannon), so Pyro would be a bit older than e.g. in the movies. for example my Storm and Rogue are both around 10 years older than they are in X2. so I think the age that guy in the photo has would be quite alright
b) to make a siggy, the guy's name would be of help! *I came, saw and feel like using spunky guy in a sig ^-^V*

Hey Pyro would be awesome and Ryan Phillipe might work really well. He is after all about thirtyish I think. I watched Antitrust with my brother about a month ago which he was in so I certainly know who he is and I appreciate the spunkiness!

Matt lies! It's 20, that's why you made her 15, you had asked me, remember Mattikins, we're not really based off the movie since most of the people just joined using Marvel comic bios, some people use the movie as an idea of how it all began, but you'll have to realize that (for example) Rogue was introduced in two completely different ways depending on which approach you take. So we had all agreed (and you have been keen on this desicion ) that we are more comic based, but roughly 20 years in the future, with characters being permitted to play children no more then 25 years old. (We will of course allow the extra five years because we are nice people)

aaaah, right!*hits forehead* that's why I asked whether it#d be ok for Rogue and Storm NOT to be 20 years older (that would have made them somewhat 50ish)! but yeah; I was against movie background... at least for Rogue, I liked her original history waaaaay more *nods*

For powers I just used the description given in one of the official X-men sites in order to stay as true to the char as possible
Powers: Pyro is invulnerable to any fire that he has placed under his mental control and has the psionic ability to cause any fire to grow in size and intensity and to take any form he wishes, even that of a living creature. (Such fire creatures, however, have no intelligence or life.) He can psionically manipulate the flame to do whatever he desires. Pyro's fiery creations have greater solidity than normal flame; hence a giant "bird" he created from fire could grasp and carry a solid object with its claws. The degree of Pyro's concentration necessary to manipulate a flame being is directly proportional to the being's size, power, and flame.
Special limitations: Any fire that he does not mentally control can harm Pyro. Pyro has to be able to see a flame in order to take control of it; in practical terms the flame must be within a 100-yard radius of him. Pyro cannot affect flames that he sees on television but which are not within this radius. Any of Pyro's fiery creations will immediately revert to ordinary flame if he turns his interest from it.
History: John was born in Sydney, Australia, and lived there for most of his uneventful childhood. He was never a tender child and cared very little for his parents and friends, if anything his love was of money. When he hit puberty is powers started making an appearance, and unlike every other mutant in the world he immediately looked for a way to use them for profit. Not finding any way to make money out of his still weak power he decided to keep them secret and only use them in case of emergency. He dropped out of school as soon as he could and left his parents house to find new horizons. From that point on John went from job to job, using his writing skills to produce gothic novel and get jobs as a journalist.
After having wandered the globe for many years John finally found himself at the gate of the Xavier’s institute where he was going to spend the best part of the next 5 years learning to use and develop his powers. His time with the X-men was quiet at first as he marvelled at his own abilities, and revelled in the thrill he got out of going on missions. However once his powers reached their limit he became discontent and restless. He started to spend most of his time arguing with the other X-men and finally decided to leave the institute after a disagreement with the professor.
John then turned his newly tuned power to his ultimate goal: making money. However he did not do this in a legal fashion, this was the beginning of his life of crime. During this time John had several encounters with the mutants from the brotherhood and even went as far as accompanying them on a couple of busts. He made sure to never cross the X-men he did not want to get involved with them, in any way.
He was not the most successful criminal and had several rather close encounters with the police. However he was able to make use of his charm to cone his way into inheriting the fortunes of people that would mysteriously disappear. This was mostly due to the fact that he was sent in by master criminals that wanted these people removed in the first place, his job was just to figure out as much information as possible. And what harm was there to make the most of the situation, by getting into the victims good graces and inheriting large fortunes. However he was always reluctant to use his powers to harm others. It seems that professor X did manage to leave a lasting impression on John. He kept the code name he had been given at the institute: Pyro.
John's life ran smoothly for many year thanks to his charming personality and good looks. No one ever really believed that he would be cappable of harming anyone of even being part of any kind of criminal affairs.
His life of crime was cut short when he contracted the normally deadly Legacy virus. He went to some of his contacts in order to find a cure, and as he was to find out later that the only cure in existence had been researched by Beast in the labs at Xavier’s. He spent most of the fortune he had acquired in order to arrange for him to obtain a vial of the precious serum.
During the long months of his recovery Pyro made the decision to return to Xavier’s in an attempt to make peace with that other part of his soul.
Personality: Although it doesn’t show John is torn between his love of money and his twisted but none the less righteous heart. His personality is charming. He is polite, courteous and generous but only when it serves his purpose. Nothing he does is ever free, it always serves him in one way or an other, his obsession with profit is not limited to money only. As stated before he is reluctant to use his powers to hurt or kill anyone. His time with Xavier was possibly the best part of his life, and he does look back on it with a sort of tenderness he would never openly admit to.
Likes: Money, pretty girls (he is a bit of a womaniser but as always only when it serves his purpose), his lighter (this he would guard with his life)
Dislikes: People that overreact (he just cannot be bothered to deal with them. He is a very straight forward guy), stone (it just wont melt, well not unless u put a lot of effort into it)

Sample post: As John wandered the streets of New York memories came flooding back to him. These are the streets he had had his real childhood on. Dodging danger running after bad guys, but all that was gone he was the bad guy now. And besides why should he care any more, those days were long gone and he highly doubted that anyone there would even remember him anymore. People passed him on the street without a second glance, he had recovered well form the Legacy virus it had left no scars. Beast really was a genius when it can to things like this, John thanked his lucky star that the large blue mutant had been able to devise a cure even if he had probably not intended it for Pyro’s use.
Staring around him once more for good measure, he headed for his car, a navy blue Z3 that he had acquired in the days before his illness. As he turned the key in the ignition he wondered once again what could possibly possess him to want to do this. Why on earth would he want to go back to Xavier’s? But although it seemed like madness, it was also the only place John could think of going. He smiled sadly at the memory of his last day there 15 years ago, his hot temper had struck once again and the professor had refused to give way to it. So he had simply picked up and left. Was that the biggest mistake of his life? Could he have been something better?
These thoughts were getting him nowhere so as he pulled up to park just outside the gate of the outer grounds he put them from his mind. He would just walk in there as if he had never left, and they would have no choice but to accept that he was back and that was final. He smiled smugly to himself and walked confidently through the gates of what had once been his home.

*Stamps* ..Unfortunatly I ain't too familure with him... just that he was a major pain in the X-men's butts at one point because he was so annoying! *Was proud that an aussie character was so damn irritating, felt so right*

Hmmmm...an interesting twist on good ol' St John.
Note that Pyro was overcome by the virus in cannon. And with that in mind, I like your adaptation. He seems to be somewhere in between the cannon and the movieverse.
Which beggars the question...if the Legacy virus is in this world...than does that mean that reason and cause of the virus' outbreak exist in this world? Did a version of the 'Executioner's Song' X-over happen in this world? Angel, get with me on that one.
I may have to play Strife.....or Cable....or both.

I don't know enough about Pyro to say that much about his past and the way you put it... so I decide to see him as a character inspired by a Marvel one and thus would only like to know in how far he had had encounters with the X-Men in those 15 years being on the other side. ... meaning, has he ever fought against them? Has he hurt or even killed one of them? Was there any open betrayal on his side included? All of that is important to know how to react for those of us playing some of the older X-Men.
I would like to add something regarding that matter and after you did this, you are
and may start playing when- and wherever you like
oh and did I get it right that he's actually a murderer? Then I'm pretty much for letting him be a part of the criminal offence storyarc - yet the X-Men should not know that those trials against him are justified.....

right here goes:
-pyro has never fought against the X-men, he's a lot more of a pacifist like to get get involved in scams rather than violence
-he's not directly a murderer but has been involved in others plans to murder people for example he is sent in to gain the victimes trust and find out everything about them. At the same time he makes the most of the situation in order to inherite most of the fortune when his boss finaly removes their victime
- he's ssssooooooo charming that nobody could ever suspect him of being responsible for anything like that (basically he's a right b****** that gets aways with everything)
