Oy vey. The past couple of weeks have been absolutely, positively INSANE. But, it looks like it's finally slowing back down to normal - maybe (knock wood) - and I'll be approaching sanity right around the time I have to blitz out of here and head back to Vancouver for Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black 2 next week (woo-hoo!).
But, first things first. Angelina Jolie showed up at Comic Con International in San Diego to talk about her new film, Tomb Raider 2: The Cradle of Life early Saturday morning (too early for some reporters still hung over from the night before to show up - though plenty of camera-happy paparazzi-types showed up to shoot the drop-dead gorgeous and actually quite nice femme) and hang out with her fans. I first met Jolie doing roundtables for the first Tomb Raider movie and was struck by the fact that she's really relaxed, nothing of the "weirdo" the press likes to paint her as, and is just one of the best celebs out there as far as doing the press-thing goes. Basically, she ain't no diva and the whole fame-thing doesn't appear to have gone to her head, likely because she grew up with all this due to her famous father, so she's a great person at the microphone.
Anyway, Paramount is now releasing Tomb Raider 2: The Cradle of Life (this Friday in case you missed the poster) and we got to talk to Jolie again. A pal of mine was on the London set visit to TR 2 and said that what he saw - a bit of an "Atlantis" set piece - was actually quite nifty. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I've no idea how it turned out, but I'll be checking it out this weekend with the rest of the world.
I don't think I heard anything about Jolie even being a possibilty for Chronicles of Riddick. Is this in fact a rumor or an inaccuracy on CHUD's part?
