Well........ Kiersten (8years old)and I hiked and picked up trash on
Daniel alone today. Kinda sucked. we hiked all the way to rocky
mountain loop and back. we started at 9am picking up trash in the
parking lot and filled up a bag there. then started up the hill and
by the top are bag was full again and we left a bunch of trash on the
hill. (Looks like a land fill down the side of the mountain) we
cached the full bag and continued on filling another bag almost to
full to carry on the way out to rocky mountain loop where we cached
it. from the top of the hill to rocky mountain loop does not look to
bad. we picked up about a quarter of a bag on our way back. at the
top we picked up our cached bag and i staggered to the bottom of the
hill with the huge trash bag stuffed with trash. then we cached it
again and went and got the truck. you all ever want to have some fun
drive a full size stocker up that clay hill wet. it was all
horsepower and uglieness. got the trash and slid out to the parking
lot. if it wasn't for the nerf bars on my truck i would have suffered
major body damage sliding back down that clay hill i bounced off the
wall on either side twice and a tree on the passenger side. but the
nerf bars got the brunt of it and saved the body from any damage.
then we had to go around to rocky mountain loop and drag in over
those huge errosion burms to the intersection of daniel and rocky
mountain loop and picked up the 3rd huge bag of trash. but anyway
kiersten and I logged 10 man hours and picked up 3 huge bags of
trash. We could really have used some help. Tell me what i have to do
to get it. We adopted this trail as a group we need to maintain it as
a group. The hill is really messed up if you look over the edge all
you can see is trash. there is some fencing to do also. I do not want
to have to do it alone or with just kiersten helping. now who can
make it up on august 10th to help clean the hill? it has to be a
group effort.
