Lights too bright ??, Lights too hot ??, remedies.
To bunkhouse owners!!

We have found the lights in the bunkhouse area too bright and dangerously hot. Yes you would not want your little one touching them. The rest of the lights in the trailers are also the same!!

Remedy came with a trip to Home Depot.

The factory installed bulbs are about 20 - 30 watt or more I guess.

Purchased 4 watt yellow & white, 7 watt & 11 watt white.

Slide the white platic cover about 1/4" then wiggle it free, change bulb and viola, problem solved.

Much better, I am now using the 4 watt white above bunks and the 4 watt yellow in ceiling as a nightlite. Had to cover half of the ceiling light with aluminium foil to make it even darker.

We even reduced the bulb size in a 2 other areas.

Benefit: safe kids, they sleep better here than at the house.
And the batteries will last a lot longer.

These are 12 volt bulbs.

Bjorn, THANKS!! We do think the lights are awfully bright.....we will make the switch next time we are out :)
We sleep better too.....but I think it might be the fresh air and all the swimming etc! I love my bed, it is very confortable. And the hide-a-bed sofa mattress seems to be thicker than others I've seen. 16 year old has no problem sleeping on it.
How are the bunks? I bet your little girls love them!
