Loki, fallen angel - (Being Played on another board)
Name: Loki
Affiliation: currently none
Gender: male
Hair: blonde
Eyes: blue
Race: Angel
Powers:
As an angel he has the power of flight through the usage of wings.
Being a holy creature his touch is deadly to vampires and a few species of demon (causes them to burn), however he also has the power to heal people, obviously he cannot bring people back from the dead though or stick on lost limbs.
He is immortal and cannot be killed, nor does he grow old, any wounds he may sustain will heal quickly, and any limbs that get cut off will grow back all except his wings. There is a catch to his immortality though, if by any chance his wings get cut off he is rendered mortal and therefore can be killed the same as a human.
Before his expulsion he had the power lay waste to cities or people in many inventive ways, from raining fire to causing a plague. This power was revoked upon his expulsion due to him being too dangerous if he turned bad.
History:
Loki is many thousands of years old, among the first of the angels. For many years he and his kind came down to earth to punish sin, this regularly meant killing sinners or laying waste to cities.
At the time of the great plagues of Egypt he was encouraged to show mercy on the humans by Bartleby, another of his kind, because he felt sorry for them. Loki complied with his friend’s request and they did not get involved, it was this that got them expelled from heaven.
Forced to remain on earth for eternity and determined to return home, he and Bartleby set out to redeem themselves by cleansing the world from sin, unfortunately this not only meant demons, it also included killing a good percentage of the worlds human population.
In the beginning it was Loki who had planned the cleansing, and him who did most of the executions with bartleby keeping out of the way, however as time passed his accomplice Bartleby slowly lost the plot, he turned from sinners and demons to killing random bystanders. Loki realized this would jeopardize both their chances of redemption and tried to convince him to stop but all his words fell on deaf ears, then Bartleby found a way of ending all the sin, he found a way to destroy existence forever.
It was at this point that Loki decided enough was enough, as his former friend started to put his plan into action he confronted him resulting in a fight to the death. He emerged victorious, the world saved, and as a reward for his bravery he was to be given one chance of redemption, but told that he was to wait for the messenger as a suitable task had not yet been found.
Personality:
Generally good humored, He liked his job of punishing the wicked as it gave him a feeling that he was doing something good. Since his expulsion however, he has progressively felt more and more rejected and all he wants is to return home and He is very stubborn and will refuse to give up on something he has set his mind to. Through all of this though he has retained some degree of kindliness and doesn’t like to see innocents in pain or killed for no reason.
Sample post:
The bar was quiet, the few people who were in there were engrossed deeply in a drinking contest in a far corner. At the counter sat a man in a long dark overcoat, a full bottle of whisky in one hand and a shot glass in the other. “Thanks” Loki nodded towards the bartender who promptly went back to fiddling with some bottles. He slowly began to pour the liquid into the glass, it was a pity he couldn’t get drunk, it would help to while away the hours he spent waiting. It had been over ten years since he had saved the world and he was beginning to think that he was never going to get the chance to return home.
“Drinking alone?” the voice from behind him caused him to turn rapidly, there stood a man dressed much the same as he was “are, are you the messenger?” he asked in a doubtful way, the man smiled and clicked his fingers, their surroundings disappeared into white, a white mist swirling round them.
“I take that as a yes then” Loki lowered his hand with the bottle to his side “so what’s my task then?” the man took a couple of steps round him “you seem keen to get down to business Loki” he spoke slowly “yea, it comes from being stuck here for thousands of years” the angel replied.
“Ok” the messenger turned and drew a square in the air, the image of Spike appeared “this is currently happening in the life of the one whom you seek” Loki turned his head to the ‘screen’ “but he’s a vampire, what am I supposed to do with him?” the man waved his hand, the screen disappeared “he seeks his soul, your task is to help him get it” Loki was about to interrupt in protest when the messenger continued “if you fail Loki you will be sent to hell, and that’s much worse than here. Don’t question why you have to do this, just do it” his soft voice showed signs of warning.
“Fine, whatever, just tell me where to find him” he sighed still clutching the glass and bottle “no need” the messenger replied, drawing a line between them, it widened into a rift “I thought I’d help you out a little, chances are you’re going to fail anyway” as he spoke he walked round the rift and behind Loki, “good luck” he pushed him forwards into the rift.
Weapons
nifty angelic sword
before he was cast out his main weapon was a powerful angelic sword which had the ability to Cause great damage to the undead. It could dust lesser vamps with a stab to the heart. Causes greater damage to demons and elder vamps. Can damage things that normally cannot be hurt by conventional weapons such as wraiths, spectars, and other beings that exist in the ether and super-tough beings like demon lords.
because of the nature of his task he has been alowed it back to help him defend his charge, this does hjowever mean that he is only able to use it for this purpose
