Looking to the Future
The wind swept up the leaves that lay scattered over the undergrowth of the woods that sat atop a mountian that over looked the reatively small city below, to the west a magnificent red sunset was taking place as the sun drowed into the horizon leaving the small city in the caring glow of the moon.
Atop a fallen tree trunk sat a lonely figure watching over the city, taking in the splendor of the sunset and watching the small city plunge into darkness.
The darkness brought the unsecurities of the local civilans of the city, as with the darkness came those that were exiled from norms of daily life, the mutants and deamons that inhabit the planet, even though they were far stronger than the humans, many lived in fear.
The figure got to its feet, their hair flowing in the wind that swept through the forest looking down at her small pack that lay on the floor, she could see a light blue glowing from within her katana was glowing, a sign that deamons were decending upon the city.
The same deamons that had lead her to taking part in a ritual, a ritual that gaver her telekenitc powers, the ritual that had forced her to leave her home, her parents and most of all her life, for months now all she could think of is the time when her mother, a anti mutant activist found out that her daughter was a mutant, the revelation that had caused her to abandon her life and live off the land in the remote mountain overlooking the city.
Pulling out the sword alowing for the area to be lit up with it's soft blue glow, the figure began to weep, this sword had been the cause for all what had happened in her life,
Throwing the sword deep into the soft soil beneif her the figure sat back down onto the fallen tree, cuping her hands around her face, tears running through the gaps of her fingers
The worse night in a long time, at least for the other dimensional Slayer, Jennifer Demore had always prided herself on knowing every demonic hang out in the city and all the save places to dwell and avoid such things. But this world was different, things had changed, parts of the city were different. Tasha was also this worlds Slayer, Jenn didn’t even need to continue this troublesome like… and yet she had no other life to take its place. She was The Chosen One. A Slayer born to slay. A child forced to grow up sooner then was right, a curse many mutants were forced to do these days. But a slayer has been around since humans first began to fight the demonic entities preying off them. And the Rogue Slayer was one of these descendants, unrelated to any Slayer before her, and yet bound in a family tree of Slayer-hood, filled with young woman who barely live beyond twenty five..
Often addressed as ‘Rogue’ due to the fact she turned her back on the Watchers council and became a ‘Rogue Slayer’, the highly experienced young woman found herself merely laying, laying down and for once remaining still. Being motionless was so rare for her, she used to hate to remain still, it was dangerous, always someone and something was after her, Lost Angel’s community was nothing like this world. This was paradise in comparison… this is what Jennifer spent seven years of her life trying to achieve in her own world. Although it wasn’t her choice to leave, part of her was selfishly glade that she was here, without the leading vampires of L.A. causing trouble for her city, the rebellion stood a greater chance of victory, even if she wasn’t there to lend a hand.
A demon Slayer, she didn’t choose this chore, shouldn’t she have an option in how to live her life? Shouldn’t she be allowed to make her own decisions? They can all say they understand how hard it is for her, but how can they possibly mean it? She wasn’t the only one who was suffering because of this existence, her family had suffered, her friends had suffered, everyone around her has suffered because of some devine entities that had chosen her to be the defender
A gentle rustling of the leaves above head gave a drowsy effect on Rogue’s mind, the usually alert fighter losing herself to the charms of nature that she was deprived of enjoying due to Lost Angel’s chaotic lifestyle in a never-ending night. The slender form rested comfortably between some roots of an old tree, a leather outfit that was Jenn’s favourite – always one to enjoy fighting in style! – though the attire possibly an odd one to see upon someone lazily dwelling on the ground.
The Renaissance Hotel was with a new member, that Percy Oakwood, looked too much like a Watcher from the council for Jenn to actually desire to go anywhere near him. Though he seemed unaccustomed to her outfits so it was always amusing to flaunt her stomach or wear tight clothes and watch him glance in all directions other then her body. Not that Jenn was the kind to enjoying playing around, she was just bored at the moment and he was new so it was fun to tease him, already it was losing its amusement though.
The daylight faded, lost somewhere in the distant horizons and once again the obscurity of night befell the world… secretly releasing a horde of hellish phenomenon’s, while some are overwhelmingly destructive, others can be easily over looked in their nightly prowls. Some say a Slayer works only at night, that her life as a slayer is tough but not all consuming. They don’t know anything, not all demons play at night, some are out in the daylight hours, and even if there aren’t any troubles in the day it’s usually spent training and reading up on the new threat they’re dealing with. What did people think, Slayers packed away their training gear and weaponry at the creak of dawn and go about a normal life until sundown? What were they insane? How can some be so stupid to think such reckless thoughts?
With slight irritation Jenn left her place of private solitude and ventured back into the chaotic lifestyle that had been thrown upon her, unwilling and unwanted, yet unchangeable. The stealthy strides carried her to the edge of the forested area, long dark strands of thin hair whisked gently behind her in the hurried steps that carried her slender form. Perhaps it was the glowing light in the distance near the edge of the mountain that caught her attention, or the supernatural radiance that came from the figure beside it. But Rogue’s movement’s grew even quieter and cautious.
"Gets pretty dangerous here at night." The Slayer called out as she stood by the final tree, never one to assume the worst of others, she was always cautious and alert but considering her home reality was some twisted version of hell on earth, she grew accustomed to coming across strangers in unusual placers, usually they weren’t exactly friendly however so she was content in keeping her distance at the moment.
Re: Looking to the Future
Pulling her tear soaked hands from her face, as the figure shrouded in the darkness of the forest canopy, called over to her rubbing her hands on the bark of the fallen tree in an attempt to dry her hands, the rough bark scratching the soft skin of her hand, scraping the last pockets of mosture from her palms,
Looking over to the figure she narrowed her eyes to get a better view of who was watching her, a slight tinge of nervousness ran through her spine, had this person been listening for long, she might of overheard me, and worst realised what she was. Fear stricken Taki called over to the figure,
"Who are you what do you want??" she called over, her voice trembling,
fear was now coarsing through her veins, it was not fear in the normal sence she had faced deamons, slain them and even banised them, many of which had taken the lives of many of her kin within her Sect, back in Japan, this fear however was that what had over come her when her mother found that she was a mutant, the fear that was over running her at the posibility that the stranger before her had overheard her cries

Re: Looking to the Future
Well it appeared Jennifer gained the girls attention, not a rare sight for the first reaction to be frightful, usually the Rogue Slayer was used to demons being the ones who were terrified of her.
"Who are you what do you want??" Ahh. The sweet blissful statement that Rogue spent the last half of her life longing to her. ‘What do you want’. Chosen one, Hunter of hunters, child born with the powers that the powerful themselves are wise to fear. So rare was it to hear for someone to come up to her and simply ask; what do you want?
Well, aside from wanting everyone who was every taken away from her, what did she really want? It wasn’t like the Slayer had a good grasp on this world, in her dimension everything had fallen apart, humans were pets and servants and cattle for the demonic overlords. This world seemed limitless with potential lifestyles, the only way she could discover them however is if she truly lived any one of them, even for a moment of her life. Perhaps she could try… but in the end her destiny always drags her back to the nightly prowls.
"…I want an apartment in the city, one of the top floor, so when the sunrises and when it sets I can see every moment without anything getting in my line of sight. Sleep in till noon and heck, let’s go wild and say I want to sleep at night for a change. A nice normal job like other folks my age, 9 to 5, crummy wage I can whine about and my only worries that of which party I’d rather go to on the weekend." A slight sarcastic humour etched her words as she stepped gradually forward a few feet, her arms firmly folded over her chest so not to appear as a threat. "But regrettably, my life, it’s kind of a predestined thing, so what I want, not really up for discussions." At least that’s what Rogue’s been told so often she was almost starting to believe it. Hell, maybe she did believe it, what other qualifications did she have anyway? Besides, even if she did just walk out of the job, it was highly unlikely demons would suddenly put aside their grudges and leave her alone to start a new life elsewhere. A smile curved the right edge of her lip, the first known mutant Slayer coming to a stop and studying the other who seemed of little threat… but the Slayer knew better then anyone that looks where deceiving.
"Who I am is the better question, more complex but let’s stay simple and mysterious, the answer is; people call me Rogue." Of course, most of the ones who call her Rogue are in another dimension, and in this world the Jennifer here was murdered by this Rogue’s current employer. Not to mention Jennifer was one of the now two ‘Chosen One’s, which only complicated matters, not to mention the Slayer was often thought to be the subterranean version of the boogie man that is told to little hellspawn who don’t eat their healthy portion of human entrails. Simplicity was always the easiest form unless dealing with other supernaturally involved individuals.
Re: Looking to the Future
Sitting back down on the fallen tree, a slight wave of relief ran through her veins, the person had itentified herself a trait that Taki was led to understand that those in western civilisations tend not to introduce themself is they were going to harm you, but yet fear ran through her veins still had this person heard her crying had she over heard the announcement of her powers or even her choice of path that she had chosen to take
Looking away from Rouge she looked to where her sword was impaled it was glowing, the soft glow radiating off the surface of the damp grass and the tree that poses a dominance to the blades of grass even in it's fallen state. The glow indicating that a deamon of another realm were near, was this person standing amoung the tree a deamon, Taki thought to her self, she had only handeled deamons who present a threat to her and the people she had swarn to protect, not once had she came across one who had introduced themselves, most of those she had banished their names rwere known to her, and her name to them each side knowing of each other and of the outcome that faced them if each party failed.
Pulling the sword from the ground Taki slid the weapon into it's scabard tied to her back, if this person was a deamon then she will need to protect her self, as of late spells and incantations were not enough to banish a deamon to the other relm.
"What are you, Who are you with"Taki started to speak before pausing for a moment to try and get a look as the ever fading light that fell on the area as the sun disapeared into the Horizon "You probly know what i am if you had over heard me, but i wish to know what you are" Taki finished, her voice still shaking

Re: Looking to the Future
Watching with a placid yet alert cautiousness, Rogue remained with a demeanour that suggested anything but hostility. In her world if you seemed hostile then you were quickly dealt with, and humans especially feared things that appeared dangerous, and yet also feared those who appeared to friendly. Why was her world so complicated, and her people so tormented? The guilt of having been taken away from then still lingers, yet at the moment there was little she could do but accept that she was now part of another world. With Angelus destroyed it mean that the curse of darkness would have lifted, her final gift to the world she have failed to protect.
The girl had removed the gleaming weapon from the earth’s floor and slipped it away. So far so good, this Slayer wasn’t one to be misjudged and if anyone threatened her she would fight until the other is securely held or pinned to the ground – providing they were of no threat to her or innocents. Being the first mutant Slayer in history has dealt her a hard life in the later years – harder then previously anyway – yet the Council was delighted and eager to try and get the Slayer in their folds. The manipulative and often useless group in Rogue’s opinion were relentless in their demands for her to join their ranks. But at least they understood the advantage Rogue had, on top of being a chosen one, she was gifted with unusual abilities that only added to the level of threat she could pose.
"What are you, Who are you with" Well if this wasn’t a curious one. A brow rose slightly at the torrent of questions, the sense of suspicion, fear, it drifted from the other woman as plainly as the glow from the weapon Taki carries. "You probly know what i am if you had over heard me, but i wish to know what you are" Jennifer float towards Taki with graceful steps of certainty and sureness, yet also with a power and pride. The eyes fixed on the other woman and the corner of the Slayer’s lips curved slightly into a vague smile.
"Rogue covers most areas you’re asking about." She added rather dismissively before clarifying herself. "Forgive me, where I am from nearly everyone knows who I am. Especially by the name." Ok… what the heck, Rogue was going to attempt the unthinkable, she was going to be formal for once, that friendly buddy sort of façade that she used to do when she was younger – before Lost Angels was swamped with darkness. "Name’s Rogue as I said, I’m a destined Chosen One, look up ‘Slayer, comma, The’, if you aren’t sure on the title, currently classed a Rogue Slayer – hence the name. Therefore ‘who I’m with’, kinda non-applicable." A thoughtful look crossed her features as she added; "Though I’m bunking up with some odd company of demon hunters at the moment…" If the girl was involved in the supernatural then Jennifer hardly felt the need to pretend to be anything less then what she was. Besides, if people couldn’t handle her situation then she hardly cared for their naivety.
"Well, there’s part of my tale, did it answer ya questions?" Jennifer made sure to mention ‘part’ so that it did hint that she hadn’t mentioned all the aspects of her life. Telling a total stranger that she was from another reality was as good as walking up to a psychotherapist and discussing these matters of her life – she’d be considered irrational and insane, not that she cared of their opinions, but it could be problematic if she wasn’t careful.
Re: Looking to the Future
Taken aback by Rouge's informativeness, Taki widened her eyes as she came to realise that there was little threat to be seen from the newly aquainted counterpart, other than not to cross her, Many times Taki had been held in danger from rival Slayers too eager to get a reputation in her Sect, looking to the ground a moment before composing herself, the past minutes flashed by in a blur of fear and panic
"Forgive me, i had no idea that you are of a similar path to me, i fear that i have heard nothing more of you than what you had explained, I am new to this area, this country even, i had been chased from my home in Japan, My mother she found that i was a mutant by choice, so she had rallied those in her group and chased me out of town, fearing for my life i fled the country, and since i have been roaming through out, hunting deamons and banishing them to wence they came"
Taki spoke her voice started to crack with sorrow as she spoke about her mother's betrayal and the fact that she has little in life than to roam this country seeking Death, be it her's or the deamons of other realms

Ooc: There’s a rule about siggy size for the board in the rules section, the top signature you have stretches the board
Mutant hate was still something that Jennifer did not understand, in her world mutants were all that stood against the demonic overlords who enslaved humans and treated them like nothing but cattle. Her hand lifted to rest her palm over her upper right arm where the griffon tattoo marked her as a servant of Angelus. One of the earlier times he had managed to capture her and amongst the acts of torture this humiliating mark was left upon her. The rebels consisted of mutants, woeful souls attempting all acts of determination in an attempt to restore both light and life to what was once their world.
Hopefully with the demise of Angelus then the darkness had been lifted, but Rogue would never be certain for sure unless she somehow got word from her home dimension, and hope alone didn’t seem fair considering the suffering those people could still be enduring in her absence.
"Sounds tough," Rogue offered sympathetically, "Look," The Slayer continued with a friendly tone that sounded as if an offer was about to be made, "The place I’m crashing at, it’s a hotel – The Renaissance Hotel." It was an infamous name since the one and only Angel ran the hotel and being a vampire with a soul hunting demons made him renowned, though not always highly trusted by those who hate demons not for their actions, but solely for the fact of what they were.
"We already had this weird English guy arrive not too long ago, he’s a newbie demon hunter as well, there’s always a room there if you’re in need of one." The mutant demon hunter offered casually, not wanting to put the other on the spot but at least have her know that if she desired there was a place with others like her where she could rest – or stay put – if she ever felt she needed it. "We all got our quirks but we’re a nice bunch." An amused smile graced the attractive features of the chosen one as finished off her offer.

OOC: need not worry now, sigs gone, tripod / lycos are being a bunch of twats and have shut my site down because it contains no webpages, even though it has been a file storage facility for over 4 years now, bunch of prats !!!!
Wiping the lingering tears from her face, a smile started to spread over her face, a place where she could rest, and even wash, for almost 2 weeks Taki had found herself living rough living off the remianing supplies in her bag and that of the local surroundings, looking to Rouge,
"yes, that would be nice," Taki spoke, her voice elated, not only was she going to place where she can have the rain excluded to the outside, not only that be with others who are dedicated to the same cause as her
Picking up her duffel bag from the floor, Taki walked towards Rouge, now sure of her not posing any threat, looking to Rouge,
"Well, lead on then, the clouds are setting in" Taki spoke looking to the sky, dark clouds were rolling in the sure sign that the waters of the heavens would be soon fallin on to the world below Rena HotelEdited by: Forgotten Love at: 2/10/05 11:36 pm
